In this story Kodi and Dusty are NOT together, yet...
Chapter 1
Aleu sighed as she settled down on her father's boat. It was all okay again. Her father was out and she was alone. A white she-puppy then stumbled to her.
"Hi, ALEU!" the puppy howled, sliding across the deck into a wall. "OOF!" The puppy scrambled on her feet and jumped on Aleu's back. Aleu howled and jumped, sending the white fluff ball flying. The white puff ball landed in the snow. Aleu couldn't see the puppy.
She's hiding, ready to pounce, Aleu thought, looking around wildly.
"Hey, Aleu!" Dusty calmly walked onto the boat.
"HIT THE DECK!" Aleu howled, running into Dusty, knocking her over just in time. A white ball of fluff had just flown across the boat, landing once more in the snow. Dusty scrambled up. She looked around widly.
"What is it?" Dusty asked.
"I don't know," Aleu panted. The fluff ball slid on the deck again.
"I...IS...SNOW!" the thing cried.
"Makes sense," Dusty muttered.
"They both fly," Aleu finished. Dusty nodded. Balto jumped onto the boat. Snow went flying off again.
"WHAT IS IT?!" Aleu cried. Dusty sudennly went stiff. So did Balto.
"Your mother should tell you," Balto began, "what happened when you left." Aleu gave him a quizzical look.
"I agree," Dusty said, quickly. Aleu shrugged.
"Okay," she responded. She jumped off the boat and looked back at Dusty and Balto.
"Coming?" she asked. Balto sighed and he and Dusty followed. Aleu led them to Jenna's house. Jenna came to greet them.
"Aleu," she said, happily. Jenna always loved visits from Aleu. Aleu got right to the point and told her story.
"Er... Aleu?" Jenna began.
"Papa said for you to tell me," Aleu said. Jenna sighed.
"While you were gone your father and I had another litter. A litter of one," Jenna said. Aleu wagged her tail.
"That's great!" she exclaimed.
"We know Snow," Jenna said. "She is your sister." Aleu froze. NO! It couldn't be! Could it?
"Aleu, she is a good pup," Jenna said. Aleu looked at the floor.
"She wouldn't run away," Aleu whispered. She looked up at her family. "Would she?" Aleu was almost screaming.
"Aleu," Balto snapped.
"You don't have to snap at her do you?!" Aleu cried. "Do you?!" Dusty gulped.
"This doesn't concern you," Aleu snapped at her best friend. Dusty stepped back.
"Hey wait a minute," she said. Aleu didn't wait. She ran out of the house as if her life depended on it. She ran headlong into Kodi.
"Hey, Aleu," he said. She gasped for breath.
"Where is it?" she sighed. "Where's angel Snow?"
"You know?" Kodi asked. Aleu glared.
"Okay, so you do," Kodi said. Aleu turned around.
"I'm going to apologize to Papa and Mom," she said.
Chapter 2
Dusty was happy. Aleu was on good terms with her family again and was ALMOST about to except Snow. She got up and began to walk to Blackie's house. Blackie was a femalewhite malmute with a black nose and diamond white eyes that were rumored to put male dogs under a love spell but Dusty didn't believe a word about it.
Dusty stopped dead as she saw Blackie with KODI! Dusty gasped when Blackie rubbed up against him, nuzzle him, AND rub her tail under his chin! Dusty stared at them and was shocked when Kodi nuzzled her BACK! Dusty turned and ran to Aleu and Balto's boat.
Aleu glared at Snow, who was bouncing around the deck. Dingo and Balto had gone out to discuss pups since Annabell, a gray husky, was expecting Dingo's.
"Aren't you the best sister EVER?!" Snow cheered.
"Yeah, sure, whatever," Aleu grumbled. "Go dunk your head."
"When?" Snow had pranced to her and was taking her seriously.
"No, don't! I was... er... kidding," Aleu said.
"Oh," Snow responded, jumping (literally) off the walls again. Aleu growled, softly. She stood up and walked onto the outer part of the deck. Then, without a warning, Dusty jumped on the boat and slid into Aleu! Aleu and Dusty slid to the other side of the deck and Aleu, under Dusty, grinned.
"Pleased you decided to SLIDE in," she laughed. Dusty got off and sat down, her face horror struck.
"What's wrong?" Aleu asked, sitting up.
"Blackie," Dusty spat, "and Kodi are together!" Aleu's eyes twinkled with mischief.
"You care why?" Aleu asked, with a sly, innocent smile.
"I DON'T!" Dusty said quickly. "I just don't like that he fell for the scum bag!"
"Last I checked," Aleu taunted, slyly, "you were her friend." Dusty scowled.
"Wipe that grin off your face!" Dusty snapped, reddening. "I don't know, Aleu, she was my friend but-" Aleu's smile fadded. "-I don't know anymore!" Dusty was wailing now.
"Aw, Dust," Aleu mumured, abashed.
"I saw her with Kodi and, Aleu, they were nuzzling and I felt anger and HURT!" Dusty wailed. Snow walked to Dusty and licked her paw.
"It'll be okay," Snow whimpered. Then her ears perked, her eyes brightening. "ALEU WILL FIX IT!"
"Huh what?" Aleu's head snapped in the direction of the pup. Snow's honey colored eyes were sparkling.
"You can do anything Aleu," she whispered. Dusty chuckled.
"Yeah, Aleu," she laughed.
"I'll try," she sighed. I'm out numbered, she thought. Dusty laughed.
"Aleu, at least try for the pup. You're her hero," Dusty murmured in Aleu's ear.
"Yeah, I seem to have forgotton," Aleu grumbled.
"Get to know her," Dusty suggested. Aleu sighed.
"Oh, alright," she growled.
"See-ya!" Dusty said, jumping off the boat and running into town. Aleu looked at Snow.
"Let's walk on the beach, kid," she sighed. Snow wagged her tail and walked with Aleu to the sandy beach.
"Aleu, I'll be just like you, wait and see!" she cried. Aleu shook her head.
"I don't know, kid," she said. "I don't know."
Chapter 3
Snow grew into a large and powerful wolfdog. She was pure white with gorgeous honey colored eyes, that were rumored to have "powers". Aleu didn't believe the rubish and, since Aleu didn't believe it, neither did Snow.
Snow was Aleu's shadow. She growled at Aleu's enemies and watched Aleu's allies closely. It was as if Snow was older than Aleu.
Dusty, however, wasn't having a good time. Aleu was trying to get her Kodi together but Kodi was Blackie's shadow. However when they were apart Kodi didn't know what Dusty and Aleu were talking about when they talked about Blackie and himself.
Aleu walked down the sidewalk with Snow at one side and Dusty at thew other. She stopped when she noticed a large blueish-black male husky with deep peridot green eyes. Aleu motioned for her friends to stay put and she walked to him.
Eyes narrowed, the dog looked at her.
"I'm Aleu, are you new?" she asked.
"No," he snorted. "I've been here forever."
"Wish I could say the same," Aleu murmured.
"What?" he asked.
"Nothing!" Aleu snapped. "MY buisness!"
"Oh, right," the dog said, distantly.
"Your name?" asked Aleu skeptically. "You have one right?"
"Sea," he replied.
"I don't see anything," Aleu snorted.
"No. My NAME is Sea," Sea said.
"Nice name," Aleu chuckled, nervously.
"Hummph," Sea snorted, walking away.
"Nice guy," Aleu muttered, sarcastically.
"Ya think?" Dusty grumbled, approaching her. Snow had already bounded to Aleu's side. Snow's gaze met Aleu's. Aleu gasped as Nome faded from her vision to be replaced with a battle by a cliff. Red snow was covering the ground. A gray male husky pinned Aleu down and he was about to sink his teeth into her neck when...
"ALEU! WAKE UP!" Nome slid back into focus and Snow and Dusty were OVER her?! She was on her side, fur sleek with sweat.
"Thank goodness!" Snow and Dusty cried. Snow's honey colored eyes, shaped like almonds, were huge with fear and relief. Aleu stood up and shook herself.
"Snow, what was that?" Aleu gasped.
"What was what?" Snow asked, perplexed.
"The-" Aleu shook herself. "Never mind."
"Hey, guys." Blackie's voice was defnatly sing-song. "What's up in loser ville?" Kodi gave a loud laugh. Dusty glared at them both.
"I don't know," she shrugged. "You would."
"Oooh," Snow and Aleu chorused. "Burn."
"Uh," Blackie squeeled. 'You-you-"
"-are walking away," Dusty taunted, walking away, Snow and Aleu following on her heels.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aleu stretched a week later and saw Sea on the beach. Jumping off the deck, she ran to him. Balto and snow were still asleep.
"Sea!" she called, quietly. "Sea!"
"Aleu?" Sea asked, turning around to face her. "Hi." He shuffled his paws uncomfortably.
"Hey," she said, sitting down. He followed suit and sat down. "How are you?"
"Er... great!" Sea replied, nervously. "Great!" Aleu tilted her head in confusion.
"Mmmhmm," Aleu mumbled.
"REALLY!" Sea insisted.
"I didn't say anything," Aleu said.
"Mmmhmm," Sea mumbled. Aleu grinned. Her heart seemed to be beating faster than usual! Why?
"I have to go," Sea insisted, standing up. "Bye!" Sea sped away from the beach.
"Er.. see ya," Aleu grumbled. "I guess."
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!" Kodi howled.
"I'm talking about-" Dusty hollared. "Oh, forget it. Why are you lying?" What has she done to you? Dusty thought.
"I'm NOT!" Kodi cried. Blackie then walked in the shed and rubbed her tail under Kodi's chin, her eyes glowing! Dusty then knew.
"KODI!" she howled, lunging between Kodi and Blackie.
"Keep away from him, Blackie!" Dusty snarled. Blackie blinked.
"You care, why?" she snorted.
"I have feelings for him!" Dusty snapped. Then she gasped. Did she? Well, that was obvious. Yes, she did!
"Dusty?" Kodi asked. "Dusty! Oh, gosh, I've been a fool! I care for you too!" Blackie growled at Dusty.
"You crazy little witch!" Blackie howled, lunging at Dusty.
Chapter 4
Dusty pushed herself and Kodi out of the way and sped at Blackie but Kodi blocked her and blackie's eyes were lowing....
"Kodi, move," Dusty begged. "Please." Kodi's eyes were glowing as well. Why hadn't Dusty realized the spell before? Blackie cackled.
"Harm him," she commanded. Dusty didn't move.
"Weakling!" Blackie snapped.
"Kodi, listen," Dusty pleaded, "I like you so much and I CAN'T harm you!" Kodi shifted and the glow flickered then vanished.
"Dusty," he murmured, stepping away.
"NO!" Blackie growled., lunging for Dusty. Kodi flew to Blackie and bit her throat. Blackie shrivled to the ground, dead. Kodi looked at Dusty.
"I did it," he whispered.
"You did it," Dusty smiled. They walked away.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aleu looked at Snow.
"You like Sea," she said, pointedly.
"I don't," scolded Aleu.
"You DO!" Snow urged. "And you have a destiny with him. He will only tell you a secret and you will save him and many others!" Snow froze.
"What did I say?" she whispered. Aleu gaped at her. A loud howl interrupted and they sped towards the sound. It came from a cliff and, arriving there, they saw a HORRIBLE battle.
"Let's go," Snow growled, leaping itno the fight.
"SNOW!" Aleu howled, leaping after her sister. She looked around wildly for Snow when weight crashed down on her. Her paws tumbled down, beneath her and she looked up. A gray male husky, the one in the vision, was on her! He lunged for her throat!
"ALEU!" Snow's voice screamed. Thw weight lifted and, standing up, Aleu saw Snow locked in battle with the husky. Snow threw him off and he tumbled over the cliff.
"SCATTER!" some dogs cried, running into the woods. The rest of the dogs licked their wounds. Snow tried to walk to Aleu but stumbled and fell on her side. She had deep gashes on her side and a deep bite on her throat.
"Snow," Aleu murmured, galloping to her sister. Snow raised her head to look at Aleu.
"I pleased you?" she asked.
"You pleased me long back," Aleu murmured. snow smiled warmly.
"I love you Aleu," Snow gasped, before getting into a coughing fit and coughing up blood.
"I love you too," Aleu whispered. Please no! Aleu silently begged.
"See-ya," Snow whispered, laying her head back. She shut her honey eyes and sighed, with a long grin on her face. Thinking of her sister, Snow took her last, peaceful, breath, before leaving Earth.
Chapter 5
Aleu howled mornfully. Sea rushed to her, along with Dusty and Kodi.
"I should have been here," Dusty whispered. Aleu closed her eyes and swayed dangerously. aleu came crashing down on he side and the world went black.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Weeks later Aleu was laying on the deck of Balto's boat, thinking of Snow. The energetic fluff ball had given her young life for Aleu's. Aleu remembered when she first met Snow. She had been an eager bundle of life.
"Aleu?" It was Sea. "You have to know that I care about you and I have a deep secret that I can share now!"
"I like you too and I'll listen," Aleu sighed.
"My father killed pups for fun. He just liked to kill and when I fell in love for you, he started a battle to kill you but Snow..."
"Died instead," Aleu gasped.
"I'm sorry," Sea whispered.
"It's not your fault," Aleu murmured. they lay side by side. Dusty had come to her and explained about herself and Kodi a day earlier.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Aleu went to a pond of water to drink a week later. Instead of seeing her own sad face, she saw Snow's face.
"Aleu," Snow said. "I AM Snow. You're not halucinating. Just so you know, you're the best friend I ever had and I was pround to die for you."\
"I miss you," Aleu murmured.
"Look in your heart for me," Snow responded.
"I'm proud of you, kid," Aleu smiled.
"That's all I wanted," Snow grinned. Aleu grinned too.
"So, in my heart?" Aleu asked.
"Yep!" Snow exclaimed. "And, just so you know, I don't mind dying. It's just a new beginning."
The End! Snow, Sea, the gray evil wolf, and Blackie are my characters! I hope you liked it! Please review!
