Perhaps it was one of the warmest days that the town had seen in a month, or it was just him. A handsome dog he was, though not as popular as the ‘bigger and tougher’ then him. ‘Populars!’ The dog would always think. It was the town he lived in that he loved most. Not the dogs that lived there. He loved his owners and their son who always played with him. His shook his paw when it landed straight in a pile of mushy snow. For this was Anchorage, Alaska and snow was all over.

“Ugh!” The black and brown dog exclaimed. “I hate the snow! Stupid!” What this dog said he didn’t mean. He was just angry and was having quite a bad day.

“Ha! Having trouble with the snow?” A familiar voice yelled. The dog growled and turned.

“Nah, just having a bad day..As usual..” The black and brown dog answered.

“Poor, poor Anthy.” The dog said walking out of the shadows. The dog was a brown and black dog also with a hint of yellow in her face. It was Anthy’s sister.

“Yeah, yeah. Leave me alone. I have to get to my boy.” He said. He didn’t usually act the way he was; he didn’t know why he was so torked. He thought that it was probably just one of those days where you could get mad at anything. Well quite frankly he was obviously having one of those days.

“Anthy are you O.k.? You don’t usually have these kinds of days. Do you?” His sister. Asked.

“Well, at the moment I’m having one of those days were your mad at everything so. Yeah. Anyway, Tamie what have you been up to?” Anthy asked as he began to walk. His sister smiled at him and looked at the ground as she began to walk with him.

“I have been doing fine, haven’t quite found a mate yet though.” She said sighing a little. Anthy smiled and looked ahead of them.

“Hey Anthy I have to go. I promised mother I would meet her around this time.” Tamie said as she nuzzled her big brother and ran off to the center of the town. He shrugged to himself and looked around. Was anyone around to say hello to? He would find out. AS he began to walk he heard the shutter annoyance of an oncoming plane above him. He looked up and growled running the opposite way and turned stopping seeing that the plane had landed. He snorted in ignorance and growled to himself. ‘Ah well, I wonder who has come now.’ Anthy though as he waited for the plane door top open and waited for the next person to come out. A group of dogs and people have crowded the plane and watched as the people emerged. Two army men came out and their wives and children bombarding them with happiness. He smiled at the thought. He didn’t know what exactly what was going on but to him it looked good. About fifteen more passengers exited the door and walked down the stairs of the plane. He sighed and went to turn and leave.

“Come on girl!” Said a deep voice. “Come on Opis!” Anthy heard a light bark and swirled around. His jaw dropped as he eyed the gorgeous dog walked down the stairs with a light jog, smoothly. The dog barked again and looked around; when she spotted Anthy she took a second glance and smiled a happy grin. He returned the favor. When she was fully down the stairs to his surprise she wasn’t being bombarded by all the single males of the town. Especially the rich ones. He smiled as he took the chance to go and meet her. He slowly trotted toward her and bowed his head slightly.

“Hello, I’m Anthony. Though my friends call my Anthy.” He said, his head still low.

“Oh! What a greeting Anthy! I’m Opis, it’s a pleasure.” She said as he lifted his head. She smiled as she met his gaze.

“Oh, well the pleasures all mine!” Anthy replied grinning big.

“Opis! Opis! Come here girl! Got to go to our new house baby!” The man said as he walked towards her a leash in his hand. Opis sighed and looked back at Anthy.

“Anthy, I’m sorry. Maybe later today you could show me ‘round ere’.” Opis said as she turned to walk with her owner trying to dodge the leash. He frowned then smiled.

“Alright! It was nice to meet you! We could meet here!” Anthy said as he watched her go. She nodded as she began to run with her owner. At least she heard him. He sighed sad she had to go but was excited and began to walk. He was to go to his fathers’ home and tell him the splendid news.

                                                Mr. Bill’s House

“Ah! Well that’s splendid son! Proud to hear it!” His fathers name was named after his owner. Bill. Anthy smiled, he was glad his father was happy for him and laid down just imagining how it would be. The black dog Bill smiled and sat down watching his son think. It was only an hour till the real fun would begin.

“I’m so excited dad! What did you do the first moment you saw mom? Cause this for me is like seriously love at first site!” he exclaimed snapping out of his imagination moment.

“Well, when I met your mother it was just love at first site. I didn’t believe in it till I met her.” Bill said smiling at the thought. He remembered when they first met.

“Aw! Gaw! To this day I still love the story!” Both Anthy and Bill laughed. An hour passed and Anthy said goodbye to his father and happily glided through the doggy door and jumped the fence around the house. He smiled as he strolled to the plane spot where they had first met and smiled. He waited about another thirty minutes for her to show up.

“Hey! Sorry I took so long!” the golden colored husky shouted as she glided towards him like a ghost. Her cream underbelly, legs, tail, and muzzle shinning in the sun. His muzzle half dropped once more. Though he quickly brought it up when he sparkly blue eyes came into view.

“Oh..I-it’s f-fine…” Anthy stuttered. She smiled at him, not noticing.

“Alright! Well what will we start with first?” Opis asked wagging her tail. Anthy smiled and looked into her eyes. Then shook his head and walked off.

“First is the boiler room.” Anthy said trying to ignore her attracting gaze, trying to act cool. Opis looked at him oddly and sighed. She liked the way he was acting before but didn’t know what had happened when they were separated.

“Oh, alright.” Opis said following him close by his side. She was the one to be a playful boy getter. Not a preppy dog that wants everything in the world. ‘Does he think that way of me?’ she thought sighing once more. Anthy looked at her.

“What’s wrong Opis?” He asked. ‘He hasn’t a clue..’ She thought as she shook her head. She would tell him the truth.

“Well, honestly I think you have the wrong idea about me.” Opis said, Anthy looked at her and stopped. He sat down and waited for her to continue. “I think that you think that I’m a prep, but I’m not. I’m a party gal.” She explained. He felt shocked that she was telling him this. He didn’t think that she would speak her mind, a pretty girl like that? He was utterly amazed.

“Oh! Wow, I’m sorry but that is really how I thought of you. I thought you were a goodie, goodie dog. But I guess not huh?” Anthy said, as he looked her into the eyes. She smiled. She was glad he understood.

“Yeah, now carry on!” Opis smiled as she got up. ‘Oh, so she isn’t a shy girl either.’ He thought as he grinned and began to walk. She smiled and playfully bit his ear and started to trot.

“I thought I was showing you around here.” He smirked nipping at her. She giggled and nodded getting serious. He chuckled and smiled at her walking on. The walked into town and passed the Boiler room. She smiled and looked at him. He gasped and looked at her, they passed the boiler room and he ran to it. Opis trailing behind.

“Sorry.” He said. Opis only nodded and smiled at him. “This is the boiler room.” Anthy said as they both walked in. there only five dogs in there. He smiled at them and turned to leave. “We will return after the tour alrighty?” Anthy said, Opis nodded and trotted with him. He showed her around the town and they even passed her house. Now he knew where she lived! He chuckled; she had let him keep that note. They had, had a good time and were on their way to the boiler room until..

“Ay! Baby, my name is Kodiak! And you are?” A brown dog growled as he walked up. She looked at him with disgust.

“Not with you..” Opis said as she walked away, Anthy beside her. Kodiak’s eyes that were closed swung open and glared at Anthy. She growled and ran in front of him.

“Excuse me! But she is not your type!” Kodiak growled as if Anthy had made the comment. Opis growled and had an idea. She smiled flirty and slid her tail underneath his chin. He then caught site of the pretty dog around him and trotted off towards her. As like he was in a deep trance. Anthy growled lowly, he didn’t quite like the thought and watched. She winked at Kodiak then at Anthy when Kodiak wasn’t looking. Anthy started to walk and knew if he began to walk she would follow.

“Hey, uh wanna meet later tonight. Your house?” She smiled and slid her tail underneath his chin. He smirked and nodded, locking eyes with her. She gasped as his eyes locked with hers and slid her tail under her chin once more.

“Uh, ok…I will meet you later…” She smiled as she began to run off. She hoped he wouldn’t follow to catch her name or anything. She would keep her word, though maybe not that night but one night she would be able to meet him. She sighed in relief as she finally caught up with Anthy. She smiled and looked at him, and unknowingly nuzzled up under his chin. He widened his eyes and smiled warmly, he liked the feel, but felt maybe, was it a little too soon? At the moment he didn’t care and he closed his eyes and nuzzled her back. He thought of somewhere nice he could take her for the night and smiled as he thought. He gasped as he found out it was indeed the night of the northern lights to show. Many dogs would be out watching.

“Hey, Opis, would you like to meet up tonight at your house? I would like to show you something.” Opis nodded and Anthy ran off. She shook her head and trotted off to her house. As Anthy ran home he barged through the doggy-door and smiled as his little boy ran and patted him on the head. Then Anthy was off again.

                                         About Two Hours Later

He ran as his heart beated in his throat and his paw prints behind him, beating as well. He growled happily as he ran to the house of the love of his life. He barked as he jumped the three-foot fence and sat in front of her door a flower in his mouth. A golden dog came out of the doggy-door and smiled at him, nuzzling under his chin. He smiled and nudged the flower towards her and she gasped. It was a pink rose. She sniffed into it and ran into the house. The dog smiled and sat down closing his eyes dreamily. “Anthy, are you ready to go?” Opis asked as she trotted out of the doggy-door. Anthy was snapped out of his daydreaming and nodded at her grinning. ‘She is gonna love this..’ He thought as he began to walk with her. She smiled and nuzzled under his chin. ‘Wow! That was really new…’ He smiled as she nuzzled her back contently. Opis smiled and began to trot down the street waiting for him to show what they were to do next. Anthy smiled and began to go after her. It was about five minutes later and they were there. Atop of a hill where they sat for a while and talked.

“So why did you take me here exactly?” Opis asked a little tired and wondering. Anthy smiled and looked out to the sky waiting. ‘What is he waiting for?’ Opis wondered looking at the sky. Then it happened. The Northern Lights! The beautiful rays of pinks, reds, blues, light greens, filled the sky. Many people where there to see it, And as far as they knew they were the only dogs there. Opis gasped at the lights.

“Wow! Anthy their beautiful!” She exclaimed in awe. Anthy smiled, he was more wrapped up in her face then the lights. He wanted to reply but kept his mouth shut, unable to remove his gaze from her. He was stuck on her face, though Opis didn’t seem to notice. Her gaze just remained on the lights.

“Wow, Ms. New and Mr. Old, out on a date!” Some one exclaimed behind them. Both Opis and Anthy turned to see who it was that had said such a thing. It was one of Anthy’s best friends Todo. Anthy growled in frustration, this night was supposed to be Opis and him.

“Hey Todo.” Anthy said showing a little strain in his voice. Todo winced a little and smiled. Walking closer to them and eying Opis more walking closer to her then Anthy. She was a very pretty dog though.

“Aha. Miss……I’m Todo. Chief of The mail team.” Todo said proudly trying to puff out his chest. It didn’t work too well. Opis tried to hold back a laugh and looked away then back at him to reply.

“Well, I’m Opis. Listen Anthy and I are hanging out at the moment.” Opis said looking at Anthy. “Now he seems like a mute at the moment.” She said looking back at Todo. “Can you please leave us and when were finished you can talk to him.” Opis said nodding. Todo looked shocked, as did Anthy.

“Uh, excuse me?” Todo said with his jaw half open. Opis blinked and arched her neck.

“What you didn’t here me?” Opis answered walking towards him. “I could have thought you heard me.” Opis said showing her teeth. ‘She wasn’t lying when she said she liked to speak her mind!’ Anthy thought as he watched the two. Todo looked as if her about to smack her. “Don’t you EVEN try it!” Opis said walking backwards slightly.

“Oh but if you don’t Shut-Up right now then I will!” He said getting closer to her. Opis growled and Anthy stepped forward. He was definitely not going to let his first possible love get hurt by his best friend. He knew she could handle herself but not for too long.

“Now, Todo I don’t want to hurt you but if you want to get through her then you need to get through me!” Anthy growled baring his fangs at his friend. Todo looked shocked but accepted the fight. He growled and leapt at his best friend. Opis felt shocked too, especially now that they were fighting to get her!

“Anthy! Get off!” Opis growled as she went to catch him, but she flew back in pain. “Oooffff!” Opis said as she hit her head on a rock.
