I was born in the small village of Teller, Alaska.

Ever since I was a little puff ball I felt like I was nothing. When I tried to find a spot to nurse off my mom. I never found a spot to do it. There was not enough room for me. During the first two months of my life, I was never played with. None of my brother's and sister never even looked at me. Like I was a ghost. And when It was time for all of us to be adopted no human ever looked at me, commented on how cute I was, or even pet me. In just one day, the whole litter that I was born with were taken. All but me. My mom took me home with her. I was never even given a name. So I decided to name myself Luna. My fur was silver and bright as the moon.

Even after a year of still not finding a home, I stayed in a dog house in the backyard of where my mom lives. I soon forgot all about being adopted. I dont know how long ago that was but I still know that one day I would find my place. 

I was sleeping in my doghouse and I heard some barking that woke me up. I would normally hear barking comeing from the alley behind the barkyard. It would be a happy dog taking a walk with it's owner. But there were many barks comeing from the alley. So I thought I would go a check it out. I peeked through a broken part of the fence and I saw my brother Eric. He was with about three of his friends. Eric on some occasions would play with me while we were pups. So you can say that he was that saw me as his sister. I thought I would go and say hi to him. I squeezed through the fence hole and quietly walked up to Eric who saw me come.

Eric: Luna? Is that you?

Dog: Who the hell is this?

Eric: Hey!!

Luna: It's ok. I'm used to it.

Eric: What is it?

Luna: What are you guys up to?

Eric: Not much.

Luna: Then in that case, I'll just go.

I start to walk away but a dog calls out to me.

Dog: Hey!

I turn around and see that it was the same dog that talked from before.

Luna: Yes?

Dog: Names Garth.

Luna: And?

Garth: Never mind.

Luna: Ok.

I turn back the other way, thinking what that guy's deal was. But it got out of my mind later. In the middle of the night, the moon was shining bright, often it makes my fur glow. It's beautiful to me. But neigbors often throw stuff at me like I was a freak. But tonight I feel asleep while clouds were covering the sky. I was woken up by a crashing sound. I got out of the doghouse and looked around and saw nothing. Before I went back, I saw something lurking in the shadows.

Luna: Who's there!?

I shouted with a mean but scared tone in my voice. The figure came out of the shadows and it revealed to be Garth.

Luna: What are you doing here?

Garth: Oh I think you know that.

I knew by the tone of his voice what he was planning.

Luna: If your thinking what I think your thinking you better just get out of here.

Garth: Oh why would I do that? You beautiful and I....

Luna: Dont give me that crap! Get out of here now or I'll kill you.

Garth: If you do that, Eric will just kill you. No one would care. Your a nobody in this world.

Luna: I haven't found my place yet!

Garth: Well here it is!!

He charges at me. I've seen this kind of stuff happen before. I jumped out of his way. He tried to stop but his face it the fence and almost went through it. I laughed as he got back up. He turned around and looked at me with a demon look in his eye.

Garth: Ok. Now I'm gonna kill you!

I took a few steps back in fear. I really pissed this guy off. He charged at me very fast and I rasied my claws up and cloesed my eyes. Everything went blank after that. I woke up, not to long later. I was on the ground and look over. Garth was on the ground. His body was limp. He was dead. I got up and clean the blood off of my paw. I knew from that second that it was time for me to go. My place was not here. My brother would try and kill me if he knew that I killed his best friend.

I took some deep beaths and ran out into the alley and out of town. I stopped at a hill that over looks the town. I turned back looking at the place I was born. I screamed at the top of my lungs. I was angry and sad. I turned around and  ran into the forrest. As I ran throught the forrest, I was sad and scared. I now needed to find my place in this word. But where, I dont know. There was a town called Nome not to far from here. I'll check that place out and see what it's like. After I calmed down, I felt like I wanted to sing. It always helped me when I was sad. I sang as ran through the woods all night.

As I stop singing, I decide to get some rest. I knew that I was getting close to Nome. But good nights rest is what I need. I feel asleep. My heart was clam now. The singing really helped me calm down and relax. Morning arose. I woke up and streched my body. I felt a few cracks in my back. It felt good. There was a river nearbye. SO I drank some water from it and pressed on. Later that day, I finally walked out of the long forrest and out on to a hill. I thought I would look see whats below the hill to see where I was.

When I got closer to the edge of the hill, I felt something solid on the ground. I backed up and move the snow out of the way. There were two plaques right in front of me. One said:

Here lies Balto the hero of Nome.

And the other one said:

Here lies Jenna. Mate of Balto.

I diddnt know who these people were. So I really didnt know if I should care or not. I decided that I would think about it later. I stepped over the graves and stepped out to the edge of the hill. Down below, was the ocean, and in front of it was what I came looking for Nome. I found the town that I was looking for. I climbed down the hill and started walking through the outskirts. But as I got closer I thought that I would get to many attention on such a busy street.

I circled around and found a large alley I could pass through.  When I got the middle of the alley, I herd some loud barking. A human opened it's window and threw a boot out into the alley. It was bad for me cause it hit me right in the head. I thought it was nothing. But after I took one step started feeling dizzy. My foot was out of control and I leand up to a fence. I oass out on the ground thinking that boot really got me.

My eyes were shut for about ten minutes, until i heard someone calling out to me.

Voice: Hey. Are you ok?

I slowley opened my eyes and got back on my feet. I shook my head back and forth. I then looked in front of me and I saw a light rusty red and white undersided husky in front of me.

Husky: Are you ok?

Luna: I'm fine.

I start to walk away and not look back.

Husky: Wait!

I was shocked. No one has ever called out to me like that before. So I turned around and looked at him.

Luna: Yes?

Husky: Are you new to Nome?

Luna: You can say that.

Husky: Pardon me but your fur.

Luna: What about it?

Husky: It's bright as the moon at night.

Luna: What?

Husky: What am I the first one to comment on that?

Luna: Yeah.

Husky: How come no one else has?

Luna: Cause I'm a nobody.

Husky: Not to me. The way I see it, I see that your way to beautiful to be nobody. 

A sudden chill went down my spine. This was the first time anyone has ever talked to me like this. Another thing that was amazing me was the calm, kind tone in his voice. I smiled at him and walked back up to him and sat down. 

Husky: So what's your name?

Husky: I am one of the few wolf dogs in this town. I was named Stark. 

Luna: Wolf dog? 

Stark: Yeah. My dad was half wolf and my mom was a pure bread husky. 

Luna: Was? 

Stark: My mom and dad are dead.  

Luna: Oh. I'm sorry.

Stark: It's ok? What's your name?

Luna: I named myself Luna. I saw that my fur was silver and bright as the moon.

Stark: A beautiful name for a beautiful girl.

His voice was comferting me. I felt as if he was clearing up all the saddness I've felt all my life.

Stark: So what brings you to Nome?

Luna: Well...

I took a few minutes to tell him my whole story. After I was done he stod up and kicked a fence board over.

Stark: Sorry. I just hate it when dogs or wolf dogs are treated like that. Just like my dad.

Luna: What are you talking about?

Stark: I'll tell you later. Anyway... would you like to have dinner with me?

Luna: I'd love to.

Stark makes a very loud yawn.

Luna: You ok?

Stark: Yeah, it's just that around this time I usalley take a nap. And if I was with someone else I would say I'm tired as hell. And right now, I'm tired as hell.

I laughed. I was feeling a little tired as well.

Luna: Mind if I join you?

Stark: Be my guest!

I followed him to a backyard and lied right beside him on the porch of the house. I was leaning up against his fur. I felt warm and comfy. I fell asleep next to Stark. THis was the first time I ever felt happy as I slept. Not to long later I woke up and Stark wasn't then. I felt sad. I thought that he was just being nice to me. I left the backyard and started to walk away. Just then a voice called out to me.

Voice: Hey! You ok?

I turned around and saw Stark comeing down the alley. He had a large bag in his mouth.

Luna: I fine. I was looking for you?

Stark: I went to find some food. You like meat?

Luna: I love it!

Stark: Come on!

We went back into the backyard and Stark layed out some food. I started to eat it and after the first thing in my mind was: OH MY GOD. I swollowed the meat and looked up to Stark.

Luna: That was probalby that best food I've ever eaten!

Stark: Dont thank me. The butcher in this town is the best in the world. And he saves the best meat for the dogs. Espesily my family.

Luna: Why yours?

Stark takes a deep breath and looks back to me.

Stark: Well... its like this.....

He told me the story of how his father saved Nome, the situation with Aleu, him saving that bush pilot. Many adventures that he shared with his family. I it when he told me about how his grandmother sent them into the future and when those two dog from the other side of the country came to visit. And the day his mom and dad died. He also told me that his sister Sara and his brothers Dingo and Kodi have all found mates. The more he told me about all of his crazy and fun sounding adventures, and the comfert I felt being with him. My heart was telling me this: I love Stark. After about fifteen minutes of telling me all about his life, intrests, and adventures, he sat back down and I was smileing at him.

Luna: So that all really happend?

Stark: Yes. Sometimes I even asked myself why all this was happening to me and my family. And one day I finaly found out why.

Luna: Why.

Stark: We all have our rolls to do in our lives. And I guess all of that is me and my famile's. But I dont mind I like going on adventures and finding new places, new dogs or wolf dogs to meet. Even though they cut into my sleeping time which is a pain in the ass. I'm probalby boring you with all this.

Luna: No!! You are the most exiting wolf dog i've ever met. All these adventures and going places beyond this place, is the kind of life I want. 

Stark: I'm the only one you've ever met. And it's not a walk in the park. Sometimes you have to put your neck on the line.

Luna: I never thought of it like that.

Stark: Well I care about you. Theres something about you that makes feel warm and safe.

Luna: Really cause.....

All of the sudden I lost control of what I was gonna say and said somthing else.

Luna: I love you.

I slapped my paw over my mouth. Stark gasped to what I said and was moving his head around.

Luna: I'm sorry. I...

Stark: Don't be. Even though I only known you for a few hours,.... I love you too.

He has a relaxed tone to his voice.

Luna: Really?

Stark got up and got close to me. He rubbed his face against my cheek and lightly licked my ear. He took a step back and looked at me and I looked at him.

Stark: You said that were a nobody.

Luna: I am.

Stark: No your not.

He leand his face at mine and I did the same. We passionitly kissed. It was the most wonderful moment of my life. Stark was the most pefrect man I ever met in my life. After we kissed he took a few steps back and sat up strait, as I laid on the ground.

Stark: After my brother's Kodi and Dingo and my sister Sara got mates, I was wondering if I would ever find one. Luna...will be my mate?

I felt like the whole ocean was about to crush down on me. But my hold told me that this is what I have been looking for my whole life. Someone who cares about me and a place to live. I smiled at Stark and there was only one thing I could say.

Luna: Yes.

I got up laughing and kissed Stark. After a moment, we stopped. Stark and I sat down.

Stark: So what do like to do?

Luna: Well... I always enjoy singing.

Stark: So do. Mostly when I'm depressed. But I think I can show you how much you mean to me. After this, I'll let you meet my family. Ok?

Luna: Deal!

Stark: Ok. And also I think this song will help you know what you can earn by being in Nome. Here it goes.....

I was amazed my Stark's singing. He sat back down in front of me.

Stark: Well?

Luna: I loved it! Now I really want to meet your family.

Stark: Then come with me.

I followed Stark around town introducing me to all of his friends and family. I think I mostly liked meeting Kodi and Dusty. They were both very kind and generious to me. Kodi had strong sense of understanding and likes to help out alot. Dusty... the best way to discribe her is... a good friend that has a strong spirit. I now knew that this is where I belonged. This was my place in this world.
