One day, a pure white wolf named Aniu, who lived with her father and her other pack mates, wandered away from home. She ended up near the outskirts of town and was about to cross the road when she heard a race sled coming down the road. She backed out and into the saftey of the brush and crouched down low to make sure she wouldn't be seen. As the sled came closer, she reconized five dogs pulling the sled. As the sled came closer, she noticed expecially the lead dog. A dark chocolate brown husky with light blue eyes. She had never seen a dog with such styking features. When the sled sailed past, she stepped out of her hiding place and watched the sled dissapear into the fog. She took a strong whiff of what the team smelled like, then ran back to her pack, so her father wouldn't worry.

      "  I don't know what you are talking about Jakel." Micah, the lead dog of the sled team simply retorted. " Yes you do. The white wolf in the bushes. She was watching you run past her. You had to off seen her! She was PURE white! How could you have missed her!?" Jakel, one of Micah's teammates insisted. Micah just shruged and went off to find his other teammates. He found them in the old barn where they lived all sitting by the heater. He walked up to them and sat next to them. There was Jakel, a black and grey malamute, Roki, the only girl, a golden brown sheltie/retriever mix, Magic, a rusty red husky, and then there was Twister, a white labrodor/husky mix with a black tipped tail, paws, and ears. " Hey you guys." Micah said to the others. They all barked in greeting, but Roki. she hasn't spoken a word all her life. She just wagged her tail in greeting. " Did any of you see a pure white wolf in the brush on the side today during our run?" Micah asked them. " No" they answered in usion." i didnt see a thing today."Twister barked. Roki just shook her head and shrugged. " i guess its just Jakel then." Micah said and looked at him.

" Aniu! you know better thento run off on your own. Its almost hunting season and if there are any early birds, you couldve gotton killed." Aniu's father, Finn, Alpha Male of the pack said. " I know father. But i didnt get hurt. I was just wondering around......" Aniu thought to think," Hunting," she lied. " Still..." her father responded," I want you close to home. Aniu nodded and went over to their kill for that evening. Later that night, she thought about the dog she saw today in the lead of the race sled. She smiled at the thought and decided that she would go and find him again. She wanted to know what he was like. She hoped he wouldnt hunt her out with his friends. But she would just have to take that chance.

In the morning, Micah awoke with a startle of yelling. He Guessed it was his owner Mike, and his wife arguing. Then it got really loud that he could almost hear what they were saying. Mike yelled at his wife and said something about him wishing she was dead, and that they were never married. She said that maybe it would be better. The other dogs also listened. Then they heard two gunshots and a pair of snow boots running up the path torward them. Micah, being head dog, told everyone to hide. They all did except for, Magic. Being the most aggresive one, he ran outside and started growling and barking. They heard the pair of boots stop and then heard another gunshot. Micah cringed when he heard Micah yelp and heard a thup in the soft snow. The boots stared walking torward them again, and stepped inside the barn. The dogs saw a strong man with a gun in his hand, and ropes in the other. Micah saw a hole in the barn and walked toward it. Roki, turned around and saw him walking and followed. Twister came after them. They ran to the woods and hid in the deep brush. Micah sighed and watched from a safe distance. He then reconized that his best friend Jakel, wasnt there. He heard a gunshot and he ran torward the barn, in a fury.He entered the barn, and saw that the man left. He looked toward where Jakel last was and saw him lying there...dead. He started to walk out of the barn when he saw Roki being led away by the man who killed his people and his friends. He heard the man mutter something under his breath that she would be good money when he sold Roki. When the man left, he saw Twister walking torward him with an injured leg. They lay together, mourning the death of their friends.

Aniu, who became more and more anxious to find out how that dog is, decided she would go tonight. She thought about it all day. Then night fell, and she waited till everyone fell asleep then she snuck out.She was running through the woods and followed the smell she remembered  and came across an old barn with a race sled out in front. She silently crept over and sniffed the sled in the black abiss. As she took a step closer, she snapped a twig.

Micah raised his head when he heard something crack outside. He looked at Twister, who was still asleep in the hay next to the heater, then crept out of through the crack in the barn door. he looked both ways and then came around to the side where the sled was. When he looked deep into the blackness, he saw the most golden yellow eyes he had ever seen. They peered at him. His light blue eyes met those of the mysterious stranger.

Aniu, heard someone come around the side, and looked up to see the most bluest eyes she had ever seen. As she looked out of her golden eyes, those blue eyes peered right back at her. She became aware that he was a dog, and she was a wolf. That can become very dangerous. She turned around and took off.

Micah, saw the eyes look at him a second and then he saw her turn around and take off. He stood there a second, then took off after her. Berfore he knew it, he was running into the woods after her. He kept running and running and then she jumped over something and turned and he lost her. He kept trying to sniff her out, but she ran threw a stream and that lost her scent. He called out to her, " Im not going to hurt you. Anyways, your a wolf, right? Im a dog. You probally think dogs like me go hunting with their people to kill wolves. I dont. Trust me. Im in the buissness of sled racing. Or at least i was. I promise i wont hurt you." he said and he wagged his tail and sat down. " Then why did you chase me?" he heard her call out. " Because i wanted to meet you. I wanted to know more about you." He answered. He saw her come out of her hiding place and come near him. She was about the same age as he was, between 1 or 2, maybe a little younger than he was. He smiled at her and she smiled back. " Shes beautiful...." he thought to himself." whats your name?" he asked her. " My name is Aniu. What's your's?she said. " Im Micah." He looked at her and she was pure white. He thought back to his best friend when he asked Micah if he saw a white wolf watching them the last time he raced. He'll never get to tell him he was right.

Aniu looked at him fondly. "Hes so handsome and strong..." she thought to herself. He talked to him for a ong time and told him her past and how she grew up. They shared stories about siblings and parents. And how they are now. Aniu heard a wolf howl and reconized it was her father calling her. She said goodbye, and ran home. She kept thinking about him and couldnt wait untill tomarrow afternoon where they could meat.

For the next month, they kept meeting everyday in the same spot and learned more and more about eachother. Micah and Twister dug in to their feed bag as they lived by themselves. One day, when Micah was talking to Aniu, she asked him something he was hoping she would someday ask. " Um, Micah. Do you have to leave this place?" Aniu asked. " I think I might. Since my people are dead, i think somebody is coming to get Twister and I and sell us." Micah said sadly thinking that he would never see Aniu again. Aniu stood there a moment then said excidely," You could come and live with us! And Twister can live here too! Then we could..you know...become mates or something..." Micah looked at her with a pleased look, then exclaimed," I think that would be wonderful. Ill be right back." Micah ran back to were Twister was and told him the idea. " You think her father will let us? " Twister asked. " Oh i know he will" Micah said with asurence. " I just know..."

Micah and Twister walked back to where Aniu was. ANiu smiled and started to walk next to Micah. She nuzzled him against his fur and he nuzzled back. When they got to the territory of Aniu's pack and her father, Finn, came right up to them. He stared at Twister for a moment, then at Micah. Then he looked at his daughter. Aniu smiled and told him that they need a place to lived. So she invited them to stay with them. Her father looked at her for a moment, then sighed  and nodded his approvel. He walked away and Twister found a nice cozy spot by a willow tree. Micah looked at Aniu and she took his breath away while she stood in the blotches of evening light between the trees of the forest. He asked her if she wanted to go on a walk with him. She said yes and walked away from the pack. They walked awhile and then Aniu nuzzled Micah and Micah licked the top of her head. They went deep into the forest where bushes were thick.

In the morning, Micah awoke with Aniu already up. He looked at her then she looked away and twitched her ears and looked in shock. She looked back at Micah and said," We never came back last night! My father is going to be mad." She looked wooried as her father appeared in the brush. Micah sat up and bowed. " Father, i can explain." " I dont care Aniu. You should have come home last night. Its almost hunting season and you couldve been killed!" Finn said. He looked at Micah with a grim face, knowing what they had done last night. " What if i were to die Aniu. Who would take my place. Your mother is no longer here, and neither are your siblings. Surely this DOG could not lead an entire pack of wolves when he just came from the safety of his warm and cozy home. " I willing to try sir." Micah said firmly. Finn stared at him and shook his head. He said to Aniu, " Well then. I guess its settled. I hope your selection in your mate would be the right one." Then he walked away. Aniu and Micah followed.

 A few months later, everything went very smooth. Micah and Aniu were expecting their pups soon. The wolf pack were living very well. One day, Micah and Twister went back to the old barn where they used to live with all of their friends. Micah missed them. He missed them very badly. Excpecially his old best friend Jakel. He was liked a brother. He rolled on the hay next to the heater like he used to do with his friends. Then he heard footsteps outside. He perked his ears and listend. Twister stopped to and listend. It wasnt a dog or any other animal. It was a human. It opened the barn door and stepped in. Micah reconized it was the man who killed his friends and people. The man didnt have a gun with him this time. But from the looks of it he had ropes and shock collers in his hand. Micah lookde startled and so did his friend Twister. They tried to make a run for it through the hole, but when twister ran through, a shock coller was slapped on him. He struggled, and then was zapped. He fell to the floor, and the other man hit him with his foot on his side. Twister yelped and layed still. The man dragged him to the truck and put him in the cage and locked the door. Twister looked at Micah with sad eyes and mouthed the word, "run..." Micah scooted back and was suprised that he hadnt heard the other man sneak up behind him. He tried to bite him, but the man put the other shock collar on and zapped him hard. Very hard. Micah had never felt pain like this. Then he was smacked in the side with a shovel and he couldnt breath. The breath was knocked out of him. He was thrown into the other cage and he hit his head against the back. He was thinking of Aniu. Her beutiful coat and glisting eyes. Them together. Their puppies. Then everything went black.

Aniu awoke the next morning with Micah still missing. Her father said they needed to leave before the hunters started to hunt in the area. She pleaded him to hold on just a week more. Two weeks. A month. whatever. He looked at her then said," one week." A week later, Micah was still missing. She cried and knew something must have happend to him. He wouldnt just leave her. She knew it. She just did. She gave birth to her pups that night. They were beutiful. She wish she could thank Micah for absolutly beutiful puppies. But some how she knew, she will never get to. Three days later, one of the pack  came to Aniu's den. He said," It is very dangerous now Aniu. We must leave. the hunters are coming right now. You must leave your pups if you want to live." " NO!" she screamed. She looked at her puppies. One brown male, one white male, one grey female, and one dark brown female. She named the grey female, Drea, the dark brown female, Avani, the white male, Mayson, and the brown male......" Lets GO!!!'' the pack member said he called two other people over and they grabbed  three of the pups and ran. Aniu got up and grapped the brown male and ran. They ran and ran and they were close to a river, she knew it. But it was frozen with ice and ok to cross. Or so she thought. She ran across, but in the middle, the ice cave under and the lower body plunged into the icy water. she scratched and attempted to pull her self out of the water and she made sure her pup was ok. She wish that never happend, now her feet will freeze and she will be really cold. It will be very hard to run. Outside of the forest she saw a desertde boat and ran torward it. She placed the pup in an old blanket and groomed her feet to warm them up. She heard four gunshots and she dreadfully thought they were her pups. Silent tears streamed down her cheeks.

She then saw three hunters walking torward the the ship. She nuzzled her pup and wispered," Ill always be with you no matter what." She turned and jumped off the side of the boat and led the hunters away. She stopped near town in a small meadow and licked her paws again. There was fog all around and she was sure she lost them. She excited and ran back torward the froest. She would come back and get her pup later. As she was running she heard a gun fire and she looked and it hit her in the shoulder and went right into her heart. She collapsed and lay there in the snow. Her last thoughts were of Micah being a good father and him restling with their children. All of them as a happy family. She smiled at the thought and breathed her last breath. " I love you Micah and my son....." and she died.
