The ice cave adventure!

One night, Steele brought the team out for a leisure run, even if it's 10 pm! As usual, Star complained about how late it was even if it meant getting snapped at by Steele while Nikki and Kaltag just rolled with it to avoid picking a fight with a much bigger and stronger dog. Snow started blowing in their faces; Steele couldn't see where he was going witch got the rest of the team worried that they might get lost. Steele randomly picked a trail and went on it. Little did he know, he was picking a very confusing trail? He was franticly running and looking for a clue where they are while Star shouted "Steele! Slow down! We can't keep up!" When all of the sudden, Steele slipped on a patch of ice! The team slid down the ice covered hill into an Ice-cave. Star was worried, Steele was becoming concerned, and the rest just wanted to explore. Star asked "Steele, are we ever going to get out?" Steele stutters "I...I...I don't know. I sure hope we do!" Kaltag shouted "Hey, guy's, you won't believe what I found over here!". Star ran as fast as he could in hope that it was an exit and Steele followed. When they got there, Kaltag was standing in curiosity "What do you suppose it is?" Star replied " Hopefully something to help us survive!" Kaltag tried his hardest to not hit him but he was right, it would be nice if it was something to help them survive they're un-planned stay in an Ice-cave. Steele desperately and viciously attacked the lock. After an hour of hoping and attacking the lock, Steele finally managed to open it. Star pushed it open, and it was supplies to help them survive, Star shouted "I was right, I was..." Steele interrupted " Shhhhhh! we are in and Ice-cave, icicles could fall any minute with shouting!" Star agreed and closed the trunk and save it for when they needed it. Back in Nome, Balto noticed it was very silent in town without the trio and Steele. He decided to go and look for them. Balto eventually received snows in his face and caught the teams sent and followed the trail, and just like Steele, slipped on the ice. He fell and fell and got to the bottom. As he was sliding across cave floor, he knocked Steele over "Wolf-dog! What are you doing here?'' Balto replied "Looking for you guys!" "How do you suppose we get out of here? We can't run out the way we came." Steele complained but Balto fought back "Yes, but if I howl loud enough, maybe my daughter, Aleu, might come and help us!" suggested Balto "I am not getting helped by a wolf-dog! And you are most certainly not going to steal my team, again!" when Star ran over to Steele and suggested "Maybe we can't go that way, but we can go through another path me and others found! Come see, but it might take a day or two depending on how fast we travel." Steele nodded in agreement but warned Star and Balto "Oh, and Star, please don't do that ET thing Kaltag told me about. And wolf-dog, don't get on my nerves." Star and Balto agreed. The next day, they all started they're trek to home. About halfway to the exit, Kaltag started growling at Star "Star, I thought you said this was a short path?'' "It is, it's either this one or the other one that would take a week to complete! Besides, we're almost there!'' replied Star.

Kaltag rolled his eyes at that response. Steele suddenly started a sprint "Steele! We should take it easy!" shouted Balto " Can it, Wolf-dog! I'm lead dog, I’m in charge! Not you!" replied Steele. Within 30 minutes, they exited the cave safely. Steele looked at one path and then another. He looked confused. Star wanted to go home and rest. Suddenly, Steele started to hear faint growling in the bushes. The sounds where surrounding them and closing in on them. Balto could tell they where wolves but Steele and the others couldn't tell if they where coyotes or wolves. Steele decided to make a brake for it. It was wolves and in the pack, was Aleu. She wanted to help them get on track because they were going the wrong way! The other wolves turned away but Aleu ran after them. Steele caught her in the corner of his eye and ran even faster. Balto suddenly stopped running and made the whole team come to a sudden stop. Aleu walked over to Balto and told him "Poppa, you're going the wrong way, the other trail is the one to home." Balto walked over to Steele and told him what Aleu told him. Steele turned the team around and bolted home.Except one thing was wrong, Star was gone! Steele panicked but the rest of the team just stared at him because they have never seen Steele panic before but they have seen him be nervous in the serum run when they got lost. This is the first time a member of the team went missing in the middle of a run. Someone would have noticed. They unfortunately had to back trace their steps to find Star. They didn't find him at all. Until Kaltag found a set of small paw prints heading home. Everyone could tell that they were running desperately. Everyone got back on track and headed home. But everyone wanted to take the short cut but the short cut is across a frozen lake. Steele tried to take the first step but Balto refused because he was scared they would all fall in and drown because sled harnesses aren't all that easy to get out of. Now they all had to take the long way that is a bit safer than a frozen lake just because only 1 out of all of them didn't want to take the short cut. Steele miserably ran towards home. He was pretty sure the frozen lake was safe. Nome was in sight. The whole team wanted to go home really bad so they all gave it all they had. Balto could go home to Jenna, and the rest can go home to a peaceful life with their owners and an occasional meeting. Star was waiting for them at the edge of town. He could also see them as the team could see the town. The team ran into town, followed by Star. When the team came to a complete stop, they where all panting heavily and because Balto was there, the entire team got attention, even Steele! Steele got what he longed for during a few weeks after the serum run, glory! But the reason he didn't leave Balto out there alone, he knew Balto was going to get a lot of attention when they got in-town so he faced it and let Balto come so he could get a brief taste of glory as well as the others. He walked home all content, but his owner isn't there, what will Steele and the others when they find out all of their owners are gone, do? Find out in the next Fanfic!
