I see...
Grass, flowing around me
And past my sight beyond
Clouds, puffy and white
Float above with ease

I look around and wonder
"Where am I?"
"You are where you want to be"
Says a voice not far beside I

I turn to see my beloved, my love
Beautiful white fur, twinkling yellow eyes
A slender and sleek body, but dangerous as well
My love....whom I hadn't seen in many years
My love...who had passed on....

"But you..." I begin to say,
"I may be gone in your world," said she,
nuzzling my face,
"But I am always in your heart."

For the longest time, we stood, locked in a neck embrace....remembering all the memories we shared...
...puphood...
...teenhood...
...Chosing each other as mates...
...pups...
...happiness...
...joy...
...sadness...
...laughter...

Then, as one
Both wolves ran off the knoll
And into the surrounding grass...
