Kojack ran. His paws thudding on the ground rappidly as he bolted down the coarse roads of Alabama. He finally stopped, his legs frozen and his heart pounding. She was like an angel. Sent down streight from heaven, and she was coming toward him.

"Hello, stranger. What are you doing out at this time of night?"

For a few moments Kojack wondered if he should answer, then he spoke slowly. "I'm running away."

She laughed. "Why? From a nice, cozy home, I'm guessing?"

Kojack nodded. "Cosy and nice or nasty and smelly, my owners abused me and so I ran away." He turned to walk away, but the female jumped in front of him.

"Take me with you."

Kojack was taken aback. "But...I don't even know you. And don't you like your home?"

She pressed her head under his snout. "Don't act like that. I can see it in your face," She looked up at him. "You like me. Don't lie."

He stepped back. "It doesn't matter. Go home. It's not safe."

She stepped forward. "Scared? Me? Not safe?" She laughed. "You really don't know me! Honey, trouble and danger are my middle names. I'd take any chance to get past the boring, normal, every-day life I live!"

Kojack shook his head. "I don't care. This journey is mine to make-alone."

She snorted and whipped around. "Fine." She stomped off into her house.

Kojack looked away. "You idiot, Kojack!" He snarled to himself.

Two Days Later

Kojack arrived at the base of a mountain that he didn't know the name of. He stopped and stood there for a moment, panting.

"Well," He said, looking up at the mountain. "If this is where my paws led me, than it must be where my father wants me to be."

He began up the mountain. Kojack didn't know where he was going, but his paws bought him to where he needed to be.

Kojack stopped in his tracks as he heard snow slosh behind him.

"Who's there?!"

The female dog he'd seen two days ago appeared. She trotted up to him with a smirkish smile.

Kojack's mouth almost dropped to the ground. "You..." He shook his head. He wasn't gone. "How?"

She laughed. "You didn't really believe I'd go down that easily, did you?"

Kojack sighed. "I guess not..." He looked up at the mountain. "Well, let's go."

"Go where?"

"Onward. To a place to form a pack, like my father did."

She nodded. "Okay, but don't you want my name?"

Kojak turned around. "What?"

"My name is Trisha."

Kojack rolled his eyes. "That's nice. Now come on!"

The two bolted off. They ran past the mountain, through many forests, all this in search of another dog to join their pack. The snow had been falling for a while, and the two only seldomly stopped and rested.

Alas, as the snow began to melt and the grass began to cover the hills, the two came across a group of young dogs, sniffing about.

"Hey!" One barked. They all looked up. "Attack!"

Kojack and Trisha had become very strong because of their long journey, and as the scrawny dogs snapped and bit at them, they stood motionless and waited for the foolish lot to give up.

Finally, they gave in, panting and growling.

"How'd they do that?" The one dog that appeared to be the leader snarled.

One of them stood up. "Newcomers! Your names?"

Kojack stood. "Kojack."

"And Trisha."

The dog walked over to them. "Are you traveling?"

Kojack shook his head. "No. Not exactly. More like forming a pack."

The dog's ears pricked up. "May I join you?"

"Dash!" The leader dog snarled. "How could you?!"

"I'm tired of your orders, Oscar! You're always bossing me around! I'm leaving!" Dash stomped off and sat next to Trisha.

"Dash, you get your butt back over here right now!" Oscar snarled.

"No. You're no longer my leader. Kojack is. And if yo want to fight, bring it on. We're ready for your weak followers."

Oscar narrowed his eyes. "When we meet again," he whipped around. "Me and my group will have killed all of your friends."

Kojack laughed. "Only in your dreams, Oscar."

"Come on, you lot. We're leaving."

The others followed, glancing back over their shoulders at their lost pack-mate. But Dash showed no sorrow in leaving.

Now there was a pack of three, and they traveled onward. Finally, they had to stop though. They'd found a den where they could rest. But in the morning, off they went again.

One morning, when the sun shown full over head, Kojack walked outside. The others were still resting and eating field mouse from the day before's catch. He stood on a rock, looking over the land, trying to scope out where another dog would be.

He stood there for a long time, then he heard his name. It was Trisha.

"Kojack! Come on, let's get a move on!"

Kojack turned and trotted back over to them. they traveled to where another forest was, and they found twomore dogs there, Scorch and Rosco. The pack, now a good five strong, began hunting larger prey, like rabbits and sometimes Mountain Goats when they traveled through mountains.

Spring went and Summer came, and by the middle of it Trisha was carrying Kojack's pups and they were expected very soon.

The five dogs of the pack ran onward. And by the time they reached another forest, they were six strong, another sheep dog named Cocoa had joined them. By then Kojack thought the pack needed a name.

"All of my dogs! Gather! I want to speak to you!"

The dogs gathered, and Trisha walked up the small hill to sit next to Kojack.

"We need a name for our pack." He looked over all four of them, and none spoke. "In honor of my great grandfather's pack, we shall call it Ayzee!"

All of their ears perked up.

Dash leapt to his feet. "You're a desent of the great John, leader of Ayzee?!"

Kojack nodded. John's pack had been over 100 strong, and had been a successful pack for many, many years, even after John's death. But slowly, the dogs began to die, and break away from the pack and then it was gone.

"Even though they say the pack fell apart, it has not! We are the Ayzee army! And we will gather more dogs and live the way the loyal and brave John did!!!"

The dogs cheered below him, and Kojack ran into the forest, and searched for a lonely dog in search of a home.

Alas, they came across a cruel looking place. They heard dogs barking, and they decided to take a look. there was a large cage with three dogs in it.

"Please," A younger looking Collie pleaded. "free us from this foul place!"

"PLEASE!" Another collie begged.

The two appeared to be brothers, and the third dog was laying on the ground of the cage, rasping and choking. It was a long haired grey hound.

"I will try and help you, but it will be hard." Kojack walked over to the cage. It was hopeless. He knew he would never be able to figure out how to get this lock undone. "I'm sorry." Kojack said slowly, looking into the sad, helpless yes of the youngest collie.

As Kojack began to walked sadly away, Dash shouted. "Wait! Kojack! I know these locks, I can get them undone!"

Kojack whipped around. "Really?"

Dash nodded. "Yep."

"Then do your stuff." Kojack barked sitting donw and watching, trying to learn how to undo the locks.

Dash looked at the cage hard, and then clenched his jaws around it and bit down very hard. The lock clicked and came right off.

"Brovo, Dash!" Kojack cheered.

The two collies walked out and helped the grey hound up. Then, from behind the shadows, came a shy, little aulstralian shepard that looked a lot like Kojack, but a light brown.

"May we join your pack?" The older collie asked. "You saved us, after all."

Kojack nodded. "You may join-- all of you."

The pack was now a good ten strong, and in good condition.

A few weeks after becoming a larger pack, the dogs of Ayzee set out to hunt. After looking for a pretty long time, they spotted a little group of rabbits sitting down grooming themselves and eating.

Kojack licked his lips and crouched, ready to hunt. He assumed this was a family group of rabbits, and they would follow the father's lead. So if he died there would be chaos. The rest of the pack did as Kojack did, and they all closed in around the rabbits. Kojack signaled for Dash to go first.

Dash darted off. Being a sheep dog mix, Dash knew what to do. He hearded the rabbits towards the center of th circle and then the dogs on the left helped heard them towards the right, and then they all attacked.

Not one rabbit was left untouched, and the dogs ate. With a surplus of food, the dogs stored the remains in a hole.

"Guess that means we camp here tonight. Can't leave that food to rot and become a meal for scavengers." Kojack said.

Dash nodded. "Guess so..." His ears perked up. "You smell somethin?"

Kojack sniffed the air. Dash was right. Oscar. "Quick. Get everyone ready."

Dash laughed. "Ol' Oscar isn't nothing to be afraid of! Him and his two followers are nothing to Ayzee!"

Kojack shook off and stood off. "Can't be to careful. We grew in numbers since we last met Oscar, he might have grown in numbers, too."

Dash nodded. "Right. I'll get everyone ready."

Kojack sniffed the air. The scent was gone. But there was a new one in the air, something he'd never smelt before. But it was dog.

"Trisha..." Kojack whispered to his mate that was seated beside him. "Do you smell that?"

She nodded. "Yes. It's very strange. What do you suppose it is?"

Kojack shrugged. "I don't know. But we're about to find out. Their coming closer."

Trisha lowered her ears in fear and alarm. "There's many of them..."

Kojack was suddenly aware of what the smell was. It was Pitbull. And there were a lot of them, and they all had the same, evil, bullyish reputation.

Suddenly, just as the dogs were bunched up and ready to fight, about 50 dogs burste through the bushes.

"Who are you?" The biggest Pitbull snarled. He was scarred up and muscular.

"Kojack. And Trisha, we are the dogs of Ayzee!"

All the other dogs gathered around Kojack and Trisha.

The Pitbull laughed. "You? And your ten doggies?" He rased his hackles and stood up straight. "This is the legendery Ayzee? Let's see if your strong, shepard. Fight me!"
