Heno followed Uvi to the outside, where he saw A wolf grazing on the grass part of the area.

"Hey, Fala!" Uvi yelled.  She stopped eating and ran over to them.

"Hi, Uvi! Back from training,I see?"  She then noticed Heno. "Who's your friend?"

"Fala, this is Heno. He's going to join our pack. He may be A dog, but he has great abilities that could help us in the future."

"I see." she said as she smiled at Heno "Nice to meet you!"

"You too." Heno said,almost blushing A little.

He got his mind back in focus and said "Well, this is going to be great! You,me,Fala,and Carona, doing our best to survive and become stronger as A pack!"

"Well,actually, there's someone else in the pack." Uvi said.

"Really?"

"Yep." Fala said "Come on. I'll introduce you."

She ran towards A huge rock in the mountain side,with Heno right behind her.

When they stopped Heno noticed another wolf. He had brown fur and looked like A pretty powerful wolf.

He was sleeping. "Aken! Wake up!!" Fala shouted in his ear.  He groaned as he woke up. "Can't you see i'm trying to sleep?!" he said.

He noticed Heno. "Who's this?"

"This is Heno. He's A dog and starting today, he's A member of our pack."    Aken had an unhappy look on his face.

"Heno, this is Aken." Fala introduced.

"Nice to meet you." Heno said with A smile.

"Hmmph." he answered as he turned his head away.

Heno was confused. "Aken can have A cruel streak at times." Fala explained "Don't let it get to you."

"Get out!"

"Huh?" Heno asked

"We don't need A pesky dog like you in our pack."

"What'd you say?!" Heno said as he started growling.

"You heard me! Now get out!"

"It's already been decided." said Uvi, walking up to them "Carona has already accepted him."

"What?!" Aken stood up as he said that "Your lying! There's no way Carona could've accepted this mutt!"

Heno growled even more intensely.

"Like I said, it's already been decided."

Aken growled and ran towards Carona's cave. "What's with that guy?" Heno thought as he ran.

"CARONA!! HOW COULD YOU LET A NON-WOLF JOIN US?!" He said in outrage.

"I saw that he had great potential and he was willing to do anything to aide us the best he could. How could I have not refuse him?"

"No matter how great potential this guy has, he's still A dog! We wolves are more superior and stronger!"

Carona was silent for A moment. "And that's why you'll never take over as pack leader."

Aken gasped. "What do you mean?"

"Dogs and wolves maybe different in terms of personality and survival, but they're still part of the same species. Someone who cannot understand that.......will never succeed."

Aken was stunned by those words. He stood there with A look of paralyzation on his face with his mouth opened.

"Come on. It's time for the daily mission." Carona said as she walked past him,still stunned.

As soon as she left, Aken bowed his head to the ground and started growling in anger. "She's wrong." he said "Dogs and wolves can never be equal! I won't allow that......and I will be leader of this pack when she's gone."  He held his head up with A sinister look on his face. "I'll make sure of it!"

A moment later, everyone stood at the bottom of Carona's cave with her looking down on them.

"My fellow canines! Today's mission will not be easy as before. You must be prepared for the unexpected events that will await you!"

"Fala,what's A daily mission?" Heno asked whispered to her.

"A daily mission is Carona's method for training us." she explained "Everyday, she decides on A mission that will test our skills and we must do everthing we can to complete that mission."

"Cool!"

"Today's mission will be.....Ice fishing!"

"What?" Heno thought.

"Beyond this area is an ocean where the tempreture is always -15 celsius. Your objective is to collect 30 fish in the sea while walking on an ice path towards the end of the ocean. The first to reach the end with 30 fish wins."

"Hmm...sounds easy enough." Heno thought.

"Mission starts...........NOW!"

Everyone rushed over to the frozen ocean.

Aken caught up with Heno. "Don't be too upset when you lose,mutt!"

"The feeling's mutual!"

Aken laughed A little.

"What's so funny?"

"You honestly think that you,a rookie, can beat me,an experienced wolf? Keep dreaming!"

He ran ahead of him.

"Jerk!" Heno said behind his back.

When they all reached the ocean,they saw how long the ice path led out to. About 20 miles.

"Carona was right. This isn't going to be easy as before." Uvi said.

"Nothing I can't handle!" Aken said as he jumped on to the ice.

"I'm not letting HIM win this!" Heno said as he went after him.

Aken put his mouth into the water as he ran through the path. The ice was slippery, but he was able to hold his balance.

Heno was catching up to him. He slipped on the ice and landed on his head.

"Ow! How the heck can he run like that without slipping?"

He wasn't going to let that stop him. He thought if he could slide his way, he could have A chance.

He took one step at a time and was able to pick it up for A few seconds, but fell hard on his back.

Uvi and Fala passed him while they already had some fish in their mouths.

Heno struggled to stand on his feet, but fell as he tried. "This can't be happening!!" he thought "I....can't lose!"
