Prologue…

“Fury.... Fury wake up!” This is where it started. A pup, 5 years of age, starts to come to after being attacked by the Water Pack. “M-mother….what’s happening?” asked the young pup while trying to stand. At the moment, she is only able to stand on three of her legs after realizing she had been bitten. Bite marks and blood pierced and drenched her black fur. “Fury...are you alright?” asked her mother. “I’m…fine...my leg just hurts a little…”she said while still struggling to stand on her hurt leg.

“Zune, you will fight me.” said another wolf from behind.

“Arno I won’t!”

“You will!” he demanded.

“No! I could never attack you to kill. What is wrong with you…you sided with the Water Pack. You know we’re at war with them! You killed your eldest son, and now …are you really going to kill your love and you last born?!” she yelled back. Zune glanced behind to see a big gray wolf charging at her.

“Your words mean nothing to me anymore and you will fight me!” he yelled as he knocked her to the ground.

“Father, What are you doing?!” asked the pup, scared to death.

“Fury….you have to get out of here…do your best to dodge the Water Pack….and your father, or you will be killed” she said to her pup.

“Father…will kill me?” she thinks for a sec. “No he won’t, he loves us…” Arno reaches down to Zunes' neck, next they see blood coming from beneath her after she yelps in pain.

“You’re right Fury. I love all of you….you see your brother, Saber, over there? I loved him…to death!” he said to her.

“Now I must love your mother, the same way I loved your brother.”

This is the first time young Fury has ever experienced a war between two different elements of wolves.

“Mother!” She was so afraid.

“Fury…I’m so…sorry. Forgive me for not being able to protect you…” She tried to go to her mother to help her and for safety but a member of the Water Pack blasted her with water. The wolf focused his energy to make the water into a sphere around Fury, trying to drown her

“I love you Fury….” She barely heard her mothers’ words through the water, and at that moment…..everything went black.

Chapter 1…

   Now Fury was a few years older….in her teenage years. She is now living with Scorch and Tana; the Alpha’s of the pack. The Alpha’s found Fury when she was contained in the water sphere. They rescued her and brought her back to the den. Her father, Arno, ran off and her mother, Zune, did not survive his attacks, and she does not remember what had happened to her brother, Rage.  At that time she was unconscious and when she woke up she refused to think about it. As she grew older she gradually forgot the event. Scorch and Tana decided not to remind her for her benefit.  The only thing she knew was that she didn’t know anyone when she first came to the pack.

    Her best friends where Saber, a black and gray wolf, Angel, a dark gray wolf and Ice Paw, a brown and white wolf. After a few years of playing together Ice Paw suddenly disappeared; or at least it seemed that way to Fury. She doesn’t really remember what happened to him. She hasn’t heard from him since….she doesn’t even remember him. She doesn’t remember Angel either. She doesn’t see Angel anymore because she is an Earth Wolf and the Earth Wolves live the closest to the Water Packs. It’s too dangerous to visit. Now it’s just her and Saber.  

“Fury! Wake up!” A voice shouted to her loud and clear. She awoke from her sleep to see Audrin, a small gray and white pup in front of her.

“Wake up Fury!” shouted another pup. Fury sat up and looked around to see seven pups sitting around her.

“Audrin, why did you wake me up so early?”  She asked the pup.

“It’s not early…the sun isn’t close to where the earth touches the sky but,  it’s not in the middle of the sky yet either”

“Audrin…” she yawns, “I told you, where the sky touches the earth is called the horizon….and it only looks like its touching the earth. The sky is miles away really…” she explained. 

Audrin leaned over on his side to scratch his neck. He try’s to do it in a cool way to impress everyone.

“Oh that’s right…I keep forgetting” he laughs. It turns out that a few days ago Audrin was dubbed the “coolest” of the Fire pups….by the Fire pups.

Fury makes her way onto her feet. She has a scar on her back left leg because of the time she was attacked. It’s barely noticeable because of her black fur coving her whole body. The only other color that stands out on her is her red eyes. But every wolf born of Fire has red eyes. Her mother, now dead, had red eyes. Her father has red eyes; her other brother, Saber, had red eyes also. He’s dead too.

 “Fury, can you tell us about the elements?” asked Audrin.

“What about the elements? It’s a big topic to cover.”

“Um…the wolves. Wolves and the elements”

“Oh ok, just remember I have to go w/ Saber to practice, ok? And try not to ask questions until I finish…chances are I’ll answer them before you get the chance to ask.” she told them.

“Ok” they all said in reply as the sat around her.

   “How do I start…?” she asked herself. 

“You all should know what the elements are by now; Water, Fire, Earth, and Air. Well, it’s the same with wolves. We have Water Wolves, Fire Wolves, Earth Wolves and Air wolves.  Don’t ask how the wolves inherited the elements, because I don’t know. Now, we are all wolves of Fire, and we all have at least one thing in common. Our - “

“Our eyes! They’re all red!” Audrin barked

“That’s right Audrin; all of our eyes are the same. But our fur is different.” Fury explained. By that time all of the pups noticed each others eyes and fur.

“So anyway…” Fury continued.

After finishing explaining the elements, the pups’ parents came looking for them and took them back to their dens one by one.

“Audrin!”  Audrin jumped and ran behind Fury after everyone had left. “Audrin, where are you?!” They heard the deep voice again.

“Here, sir…” the gray wolf followed his sons’ voice and stopped in front of them. Audrin crept out from behind Fury. “I’m here sir…”

“Come, we’re leaving” he said as he nudged Audrin out the opening

“Bye Fu –“he was cut off

“Don’t you dare talk to that wolf anymore, Audrin” he warned

“What?! Why?”

Fury could no longer here the conversation. “Bye Audrin”

His father looked back and shot her a cold look.  

“What’s with him…? He always does that around me….and it looks like Audrin got in trouble just from being with me. That was such a cold look he gave me…” Her ears went down and she went to look at the sky for some sort of reassurance and saw she was going to be late to practice. She got up and ran for the practice sight.

“Fury? We’re going to be late where are you?” Saber asked himself. He was more than half way there. He slowed himself down and hoped that she would run into him. He hated to see her get into trouble.

Chapter 2…  

“Come on! Move faster feet! Faster!” she kept saying to herself

Saber heard her coming and turned and saw it was her.  

“Fury…” he blushed when he saw her. From what he knew….he loved her. For Saber, talking to Fury is the best thing that could ever happen to him….that or being her mate in the future.

Fury already knows he loves her….but doesn’t want him too. She doesn’t want their relationship to be ruined by stupid fights of lovers. She keeps turning him down and refuses to be with him as a couple. Only as friends. Saber always try’s to tell her how he feels about her….but something happens and he always gets tongue-tied…..he finds that it’s easier to tell her how he feels about her through weird scenarios or when she’s feeling down….which doesn’t happen a lot. But he’s ok with just being around her. After all, they’re best friends.

“Saber! Hi!” she ran up to him. They arch their necks over each others in a hug.

“Hi Fury…um…” he tries to act normal around

her.

“Are you ok Saber?”

“We have to get going…we’re late” he backs away.

“That’s right! Let’s go!” she dashes off.  

“Great. Another moment alone with her…and I blew it again!” he thought to himself as her sprinted beside her.

Saber runs right beside her.

  Chapter3…

Later Saber and Fury reached the practice sight and met with Sparx…their trainer. His job is to train them to catch their prey with their fire power. For instance, the water sphere Fury was in when she was attacked. That Water wolf focused its energy to make it, that’s what Fury and Saber have to do, but with fire.

“You two are late!” Sparx spoke firmly to them

“Sorry Sparks…Sir” Saber said as he lowered his ears. He and Fury came to a halt in front of the wolf. Sparks looked at them sternly with his piercing red eyes.

“So what held you?”

Fury took a step toward him and started to explain.

“Well…I just didn’t notice how late it was getting….and when I was on my way here I saw Saber….and yeah...”

“I see….anyway, we need to get started. I’ll show you what you’ll be learning first” Sparks told them.

 Fury and Saber sat up and paid very close attention. 

At that moment Sparks took a deep breath and closed his eyes. As he exhaled, smoke came from the bottom of his paws. Then, when he opened his eyes his paws became fully engulfed in a fiery blaze.

“Whoa!” Fury yelled and she jumped onto her feet. Next, Fury stood just like Sparks.

“I want to do it!” she told him as she took a deep breath….but nothing happened when she exhaled.

“Absorb the rays from the sun, Fury” Saber helped her get started.

“Like this.” He stood next to her and did exactly what Sparks did. In no time he had flames at his feet.

“Fury…your arm is too close to him” Sparks said. Saber quickly moved away from her without her noticing. He wanted to make sure she’s safe from his flame.

“I don’t feel anything…” she answered

 Saber laughed a bit at her reply and continued his training.

 “I’m going to try again” she told them. Fury absorbed the rays of the sun, and took a deep breath…then there were flames at her feet as well.

“Very good, Fury. You too, Saber” Sparks said as he stood in front of them. “Now, to get a bigger flame just think of the heat. It’s that simple!” He said to them.

“Alright….” Fury thought about the heat and instantly the flame went around her whole body. “Whoa..!

“Sparks! Fury’s going to burn if we don’t do something!” Saber was just about to go help her, but before he had the chance Sparks told him to stop. Saber looked back at him. “What!? Why should I?”

“You’ll get burned by her flame if you go near her.” He explained. “Don’t worry though, she’s fine. You can’t get burned by your own flame unless it’s being thrown back at you by someone else.”

“Hmmm…” Saber wanted to try getting the flame bigger himself, so he started to think of heat, and lots of it. Before he knew it, his body was fully engulfed in fire.

“I’m surrounded by it! Fury, look!” Saber was so excited to know how to make fire.

“That’s great, Saber!” Fury was happy too.

“Do you both understand how this works now?” Sparks asked them.

“I think I do… We just have to think of something to do right?” Fury asked

“Correct….basically anyway. All you have to do is think of heat and an attack. Don’t think it’s that simple, though. Seeing how young you are…you don’t have as much power as the adults do.” Sparks explained.

“Right!” The they wolves said at once.

Chapter 4…  

Soon enough, Sparks, Saber, and Fury walked back to the pack together. By the time they got back, the hunters had come back with a fresh kill big enough for everyone to eat. They ate under the twilight sky. Once Fury and Saber had finished their meal, Sparks instructed them to go to bed. Saber and Fury walked off together.

“I’ll take you home, Fury.” Saber said to her.

“I’m not going home, Saber” Saber was dumbstruck at what she said.

“You’re not going home?”

“Nope, I’m going hunting” She smiled to him.

“Hunting? Now..? Alone?!”

“Not alone…hopefully. I figured you would come with me…” She told him

“I’m coming with you then…..but what about your parents? Won’t they be worried this late at night? I have sometime to waste before I can go back to my place…but I don’t want you to get into trouble…”

“My parents…aren’t here with me”

“What do you mean? Are they dead or something? Don’t play around like that…”

“I mean…I’ll…deal with them later...” She told him “Come on lets go while it’s still some light out.” Fury ran past him and he followed her.

Chapter 5…   

Fury and Saber got far away from the pack and hid among the trees and listened.

“Fury I can’t hear anything. It’s too late to hunt.” Saber told her

“You think so?”

“Yeah” he said as he turned around “Maybe we should go back”

“Alright!” Fury kept walking forward.

“Not that way! I meant back home…”

“Oh…I thought you meant back to the training site…” she said as she looked back with an innocent smile.

“No you didn’t”

Fury went back to him and stood in front of him.

“Come on Saber, let’s explore a little…..then well go back, I promise.”

It’s gotten later and later. The only way you could see anything was by moonlight. Saber started to tense up after hearing some rustling in the bushes. His ears perked up and he scanned the area.

“Did you hear that?”

Fury did the same, “I don’t hear anything”

Saber listened again, “It’s gone”

They continued to walk until Fury gave him a very innocent smile.”What's that look for…?” He asked curiously. He could tell she was about to do something. While he was trying to figure out what it was, she ran off!

“Bet’cha can’t find me!” She shouted as she hid from him

 “Fury…I heard something just a second ago!”

“Don’t worry Saber, I’ll be careful” She assured him “Just have some fun!”

Fury was having a great time, she loved playing around and being with her friends, and being away from the pack. Saber on the other had been having just as much fun just by being around her. He loved it. So for a while they played hide and seek. First it was Fury’s turn to hide, then Saber and so on. But after a few rounds it was Fury’s turn again…but Saber couldn’t find her. He started to worry

“Fury? Hey, Fury come out!” He said, but there was no answer

“Fury!  I’m serious!!” he shouted….then he heard foot steps. He was positive it was her. So he raced to the sound of the foot steps and pounced.

“I’ve got you Fury!”

“Ow…get off of me!” 

A deeper voice came from his captive. And another wolf came from the shadows. Saber scooted back into the moonlight. While in his backward motion Fury came running to him.

“What’s wrong? Who are they?”

Saber didn’t answer her yet but tried to look at the wolves before them. One was smaller and younger and had icy blue eyes, while the other was obviously an adult with dirt brown eyes. The older one came over to help the young one up. The younger one was about Fury and Saber’s age.

“Ice Paw…are you alright?”

“Yeah…I’m fine” He gets up and looks at Saber. “What was that for!? He shouted.

“Sorry” Saber said. “I thought you were Fury”

“Ice Paw?” he asked himself.

He looked at Fury. “Fury? From the Fire Pack?

“Yeah…” She answered

He looked at Saber again. “Then you must be Saber.”

“Yeah, that’s me.”

“Remember me? I’m Ice Paw!”

“It is you! Ice Paw!”

Saber was ecstatic to see him and Ice Paw was too. They greeted each other, and then Saber called Fury over.

“Remember Ice Paw from a while back?”

“…no”

Ice Paw came up to her.

“Fury, the little trouble maker…… me, you, Saber and Angel used to be best friends before the war tore us apart. I had to go back with the water pack for good. Angel had to go with the Earth pack….even though Fire and Earth are allies.”

“That’s right” Saber agreed. “That’s why you had to go before…”

“Then why are you here?” Fury asked

“Right…..I know you’re my friend Ice Paw but……”

“Let me explain—“

“No, let me.” Balto stepped forward and brushed by Ice paw’s brown and white fur.

“I’m Balto of Earth. I came to speak with your elder. On the way I came across Ice Paw here. He said he was running away and he said he had friends here. So I brought him along.”

“I see…”

“Hehe…he’s no threat” Balto laughed.

“Gee thanks Balto” Ice Paw said as he looked at him.

Ice Paw started to notice how late it was and wondered why they where out so late.

“Should we get doing?”

“You’re right.” Fury said as she started the other way

“Saber, won’t you be in trouble?”

Saber followed her “yeah…..Ice Paw, Balto, follow us.”

“Alright.” they agreed and followed.

Chapter 6…  

All four wolves returned to the pack and Ice Paw was so exited.

“I’m back!! I can’t believe I’m back around the Fire Pack!” he yelled so everyone could hear.

“Ice Paw, not now! You’ll—“Saber, Fury, and Balto all tried to warn him, but it was too late.

“The water pack is attacking!” Howled a wolf

They heard another howling wolf. It was calling Saber home.

“That’s my mom. I’ll be right back”

“Alright” Fury said. “Tell her everything’s ok”

“Ok, and make sure that nothing bad happens.” He told her.

“Got it”

Saber ran off. Saber disappeared and she wondered what she should do next. Balto was protecting Ice Paw and before they could do anything four walls of fire were surrounding them.

“No wait! It’s me, Fury!” She shouted as she tried not to touch the flames.

“Prove it” a wolf barked from the outside.

“How?” she asked.

Ice Paw came from behind and stood in front of her.

“I’ll take it from here” he told her.

The walls started to close in on them, fast!

Ice paw looked back at her.

“Check out how much stronger I’ve gotten”

Ice paw was focusing his energy. First water was at his feet then a dome of it around his body. Next, a thick layer of water sailed over the base of the blaze and put it out.

“I finally did it!” he said as he turned to Fury and Balto.

“Did you see?”

“Well done” Balto said

“That was great, Ice paw!” Fury said next.

“Fury!” shouted a voice.

It was Saber’s mother.

“Oh no…”Fury said as she looked back behind her to see that she was mad.

She went to her with her tail between her legs.

“Saber was just going to find you….sorry we got back so late…it were my fault.” Fury apologized and she pushed Fury away.

“You’re right. It is your fault. Listen here, Saber may be your friend, but he’s my child and I don’t appreciate you kidnapping him to go find the water pack.” She barked.

“No…it’s not like that. You see…”

“And another thing!” she started again. “I was told that a few pups were missing this morning and they were with you! What were you doing with them!?” she asked harshly.

“I was…” she was scared.

“This won’t go well…” she thought to herself.

Lucky for her, Saber had come back and stood between the two.

“Mom…shouldn’t you be going now?” he motioned for her to go away.

“Let her talk Saber” Audrins’ father, overhearing the conversation, came over to them.

“Fury needs to be taught a lesson. And besides, you have no part in this.

“I was just hanging out with them, that’s all!” Fury barked back

“Don’t raise your voice at me! You’re just like your father!” Saber’s mother yelled at her.

Ice paw was amazed at what was happening and so was Balto. By this time the whole pack was around them.

“Fury!” Audrin came to her and nuzzled her.

“Audrin…” Fury looked down at him.

“Audrin, what did I tell you! Get away!” he yelled.

“No, daddy I don’t want to go!!” Audrin yelled back.

“Mom won’t you go away!?”

“No, Saber, go to the den!”

Things were terrible now! While all of this was happening, the rest of the pack was wondering and kept telling them to get the water wolf.

Right be fore the parents attacked Fury, Balto sighed and created a small earthquake to hush everyone up.

The Alpha’s came out and looked out at everyone as they stayed quiet in their presence.

Tana spoke first.

“Everyone go back to your dens until morning” she said.

Scorch turned to Fury, Saber, Balto and Ice Paw.

“Come with us.”

Fury was still scared and uneasy. “Audrin too... Ma’am”

Tana smiled to her. “Audrin too...”

Both parents set they’re flames and tried to get Fury again, and Ice Paw when the alpha’s turn. Just before they could reach them Scorch and Tana wee there and snarled at them.

“Leave” Scorch said “We’ll talk in the morning”

Just by looking into the alphas’ piercing red eyes, they were scared more than Fury and they ran off.

With nothing else being said, everyone did what they were told. Fury, Audrin, Saber, Ice Paw, and Balto slept with the alphas that night.
