CHAPTER ONE
My Parents are Stolen
"Hey Ed!"I called over my shoulder,I was working in the Fields with my two brothers Edward and Kiba. With our animal Partners Pan,Percy,and Leo. Pan yawned and looked around "This is boring!" He complained,I nodded in agreement. Kiba groaned "Can the king get less fatter?" Kiba shook his head. Edward turned around grinning madly "You've seen the king?!"He asked excitedly, Kiba nodded "Yeah,Remember when the king wanted Archers? I applied for that..but I didn't qualify because I wasn't old enough,"Kiba ended. I nodded "I remember,I was only twelve right? and you were ten,"I laughed suddenly "I don't think the king would want to be getting threats from villagers about their sons getting killed at an early age,".
Kiba nodded "So Percy,you think we've done enough for today?"He asked his fox partner. "Oh,Sure!" Percy said quickly "I've been dying to get out of this place! I'm starving I'm so hungry...I could probably eat Leo!"He blurted out. Leo glared at him "Hey!"He spat "I'm mostly fur and bones!". "Oh right,"Percy said rolling his eyes "I should call you Leo the alley Piglet." Leo hissed and unsheathed his claws but Edward picked Leo up "Hey no fighting!" He growled "Fine,"Leo said and purred as Edward stroked his head lightly. Percy lowered his ears and looked at Kiba "How come you never hold me like that?"Percy complained,Kiba and I laughed. "Come on,Mom and dad are at the cottage and-"I started but Kiba cut me off "And supper better be ready or I'm gonna give dad a great big bear hug!". "And that's punishment how?"Edward asked letting Leo hop on his head his ears lowering a bit so Leo could fit.
"Race Ya!"I said to them and started running with Pan at my heels. "I won!"I said triumphantly but then Kiba ran into me "No one likes a bragger." Kiba pointed out "Aye,"Edward replied trying to sound like our father. I burst through the door "We're Ho-!"I started to say but stopped when I saw all the tables and chairs were turned over,specks of blood were on the floor,and a note was pinned to the wall by a bloody knife. I herd everyone else gasp behind me,I took off the knife and hastily read the message it said:
Greetings Children of Amos and Tina,
I King Randolf have taken your dear mother and father,If you want them back alive,bring to me the one referred to as 'Eragon' take him to me and you will get your precious parents back.

"Why that no good!"I growled crumpling the paper in my hands. "Whoa,calm down brother, We'll find this Eregon guy,bring him to the king,and get mom and dad back!"Kiba reassured,but it sounded like he was reassuring himself more than me. I herd flapping noises outside "Tell the geese to shut up,"Edward muttered to Kiba as he tried to read the crumpled up letter in my hand. "Uuuuh, Guys, that's not the geese!" Edward and I turned around,and gaped at the huge Dragons outside. One was a Bronze color and had silver spikes trailing down his back. Another was a sea Greenish color with Blue spikes trailing down his back,and the last one was a Gold color with Bronze colored spikes on his head. I walked out shakily with my brothers and our partners following. The Gold dragon turned to face us "Are you the sons of Amos and Tina Dragnet?" He rumbled,I nodded "Yes we are,"I replied strongly. I wasn't going to let a thirty-foot dragon think I was weak. The Dragon chuckled "So the Elders were right! You are as feisty as they say,"He boomed. Elders? I thought What Elders?.
CHAPTER TWO
One of the Chosen Three?
"Who are you anyway?"I asked suspiciously, "Ah,Right we forgot to introduce ourselves,how rude of us don't you think?"He asked in a kindly manner,He pointed to the Bronze colored Dragon "This is Draco,"He said,Draco nodded to us,Then he pointed to the sea Green Dragon "This is Festus,"the Gold Dragon said. "Hello!" Festus greeted cheerfully,"And I,"The Gold dragon said "Am Eragon," Eragon introduced. "Y-your the one the King wants,"Edward blurted out suddenly. Eregon looked at Edward suddenly,at first I thought he was going to blast him with fire,but he started laughing. "Right young one,King Randolf wants me,because I am a so called 'threat' to him," Eragon replied. "Why?"Kiba asked,Eragon shook his head "The time hasn't come for me to explain young one," Draco replied "Well said Draco,"Eregon said nodding. "Ok! Now is the time to tell you why we've come."Eregaon said loudly. "Festus?"Eragon said "Ok!"Festus said and walked over to stand by Eragon.
"You,"Festus started "Are the Chosen Three.". "Chosen three?"I echoed,Festus nodded "Yes." He said but almost in a cheerful manner. I grunted "And what are we chosen for?" I asked pointedly. "Oh,I thought it was pretty obvious," Festus said,Kiba shook his head. "Well," Festus started eagerly as if he was going to tell an epic story. "You three are chosen to kill the dark lord!"He reported. "Us?"Edward sputtered "But,if it's the dark lord..we don't even match up to him! I mean sure Kiba's a good archer,and Travis is a good swordsman,but I don't have anything I'm good at," Edward lowered his head in shame. "Oh,really?" Draco piped up, "Get your crossbow boy," Draco commanded,Edward obeyed and went inside the house,he came out a minute later with a broken crossbow. "It's broken and I can-" Edward started to say as he put the crossbow on the ground. Draco used claw and ordered him to cut wood for him,and in no time,he had a crossbow that was as good as new. . "Shoot that tree,"He ordered "How did you d-" Edward started but Draco ignored him "Do it,"He said more firmly. Edward obeyed,aimed, and shot it to into a hole into the tree which was the target. Draco's face lightened up "Good! See? your good at the crossbow!",Edward looked sheepishly around and blushed. "So," Eragon broke in. "We need to be parred up, By personality of course." He added.
I nodded and studied all of them "Festus and Kiba,"I said finally. "Cool," Kiba said grinning at Festus and Festus grinning back. "Draco and Edward," I also added. Edward nodded to Draco and Draco nodded back. "And Eragon and Me,"I said finally. "Very good young knight!" Eragon said,I thought I herd a tone of pride in his voice. "So,are we going or what?" Edward asked impatiently,"Alright,young one,get on my back." Draco boomed. He nodded and quickly hopped in between his wings,where there were no spikes. Kiba and I did the same,while our animals shape shifted into smaller ones and hopped on our shoulders. The dragons lifted off and soared into the sky.
It was dark by the time we reached Animore, a small village north of Bulliore. "We should stop for the night,"I told Eragon. Eragon nodded and motioned for the others to follow as he dived toward the forest. He landed in a clearing, Kiba and I suggested we go hunting while Edward tried to make the fire. I took out my sword and Kiba strapped a quiver over his back,loaded it with arrows, and held his bow. We set off through the woods and I herd rustling in the bushes. "Ready your bow,"I whispered and pointed at the bush. He nodded,took a bow from his quiver and readied his bow. Then an Orange dog jumped out,he had black eyes,was wearing a tattered tunic,ripped leather shorts,and had a weasel sitting on his shoulder. He had Orange fur and a cream under belly,"Hey!"He said cheerfully it seemed he was ignoring Kiba's threatening bow. "I wouldn't think a well dressed fellow like your self would be way out here eh?"He asked and nudged me with his elbow. "Well, yeah ,about that...."I said trailing off. Then the stranger looked at Kiba and held up his hands in surrender . "I didn't do it I swear!" He said jokingly.
I motioned Kiba to lower his bow. I snorted,"Well,Come on Kiba we bette-" I started but he cut me off "I'll show you where you can get some food,and I'll lead you to it.",He volunteered. "Ok, sure." I said shrugging "What's the harm in that?" the stranger quickly motioned Travis and Kiba to follow and they quickly walked through the trees. Kiba and I followed warily,while the stranger moved as quick as a fox. "Hey,stranger," Kiba blurted out "What's your name?". "Toby," He replied without looking at us.
CHAPTER THREE
We Meet More Dragons!
"Hey Toby!" I said as he started to walk away after Kiba killed a deer. He turned around "Yeah?". "Why don't you stick around?" Kiba grunted in an effort to pull the plump doe. "I wish I could,but I have to get back to my girlfriend," Toby said sheepishly and he put his hands behind his head. Kiba dropped the doe and smiled "Ooooh! Toby's got a girlfriend Toby's got a girlfriend!" Kiba chanted. "Oh shut up," Toby muttered but grinned, "Why don't you bring her with us? We could bring her back to our camp as long as she's not scared of dragons," I said. "Wait," Toby said "You guys have Dragons too?". "Too?" Kiba and I said at the same time, "Yeah, We have dragons, mine's Blazewind and Luna's is Goldfire." Toby replied proudly. "Wait, Luna?" Kiba asked. "My girlfriend." Toby replied quickly.
"Oooh." Kiba said in realization, "So,show us the camp." I said smiling cheerfully. Toby led the way to a small clearing and I saw a girl tending the fire while two dragons were sleeping side-by-side. "Luna?" Toby asked. The girl looked up and instantly smiled "There you are! Where were you?" Luna said her tone changing from happy to serious. "Uhhh, I was helping them find food," Toby said in a small voice. Luna stood up and nodded "Well I was worried." She told him. "I know," Toby said,then her gaze snapped over to Kiba and I,we both flinched a little. "So what are your names?" she asked sweetly, "I'm Kiba!" Kiba said proudly pounding his free hand on his chest. "I'm Travis." I added.
"Nice to meet you Travis and Kiba," She replied nodding "So what brings you to the outskirts of Animore?" Luna asked curiously. I cleared my throat "Well, actually w-" I started but Kiba blurted out "We're here on a quest!". "You idiot!" I hissed "You don't just blurt out stuff like that!". Kiba lowered his ears and frowned "So-rry." Kiba grumbled and stepped back twiddling with his thumbs. "Like my dimwit of a brother said,yes we are out here on a quest." I said "Cool!" Toby said looking at us excitedly "Can we come?" He asked immediatly. "Well,the dragons said that the chosen three should kill the dark lord!" Kiba said from behind us "I don't think our dragons would like it if we took them with us with out permission.". I nodded "He does have a point,"I mumbled,then I had an idea. "Come with us," I instructed "And wake your dragons,bring them too.". "We don't have to listen to you." Toby said "You want to come or not?" I snapped,then Toby fell silent and nodded.
Toby beckoned Luna over to help him wake the dragons. "What?" The fiery Red one grumbled,opening one sleepy eye to look at Toby. "We gotta go with those knights over there." Toby said pointing to us. I smiled he called us knights. Like our father used to call us,before he was stolen. I'll get you King Randolf if it's the last thing I do,I'll kill you.
I glanced at my sword, This will be the blade that will kill the dark lord. I thought and glanced at Toby and Luna who had successfully woken the slumbering Dragons. One was big and fiery Red,and the other was a bit smaller but had a Goldenish color. "We're ready!" Toby announced,then I noticed the weasel on toby's shoulder again,and Luna had a squirrel on her shoulder. "I'm guessing they are their animal partners." Kiba whispered to me. I nodded,"Follow us." I ordered,not waiting for an answer I headed toward our camp,I herd Kiba grunt in effort when he was trying to keep up with me and lug the heavy Doe at the same time.
When we got to camp I saw Edward poking the fire with a stick, his Golden fur glowing in the fire light. I jumped out "Boo!"I yelled. "Ahhh!" he yelped and fell over,Kiba chuckled "You stupid!" Kiba laughed "Your a scardy cat!" Leo hissed "Hey,I'm a cat!" He meowed. "Sorry," Kiba said sheepishly, Toby stared in awe at our dragons. "Which one is your dragon partner?" Toby whispered in my ear,"The Gold one with Bronze colored spikes on his head,his name is Eregon." I said. "Whoa,cool!" Toby replied. Luna stood beside him,while their dragons padded up to ours. "Hello." Blazewind said,Festus smiled "Hello!" he said cheerfully,Draco snorted in reply,and Eragon nodded to them "Greetings fellow dragons." He greeted. "Wait,I think I recognize you from some where." Goldfire piped up.
Eragon studied them carefully,"Hmm,I was in the council of Dragons," He said carefully "Maybe you remember me from that when you were just little hatchlings." Blazewind shrugged "Maybe." He agreed,then Toby and Luna walked over to Edward "Who are you?" Toby asked curiously "You don't look much like Travis and Kiba, are you their body guard?" Toby added. "No,"Edward said sarcastically "I'm their magical unicorn." Toby tilted his head. "But,your not a unicorn." He pointed out,clearly not getting Edward's sarcasm. Edward shook his head and sighed,then looked around at Kiba "Good! You got food! I never thought I'd say this,but your a very good hunter brother!" he congratulated. "It was nothing." Kiba said blushing "One arrow to it's head,and plop it fell to the ground."
I then herd Luna from behind Edward and I. "Wait,your an archer too?" Luna asked,Kiba nodded "Yup,been at it since I was a pup." he said proudly. Luna smiled "Me too." she said casually,I just noticed that Toby had a belt strapped around his waste and a sword hilt stuck out of the scabbard,and Luna had a quiver strapped around her back,and had a bow slung around her back too. "I'm going to go practice." Kiba announced "I'll go too." Luna volunteered. Kiba nodded "Tell me when the food's ready Ed!" Kiba called over his shoulder as he marched into the woods with Luna following.
CHAPTER FOUR
My First Clue
"Eragon." I whispered,no answer, "Eragon."I whispered louder. "Hmm?" he mumbled sleepily. "Do think that we'll defeat the dark lord,I mean Kiba Edward and me?"I asked. "You will meet many allies in this journey it won't just be you. But you three will lead all of your allies." He whisperea to me. I looked at my two brothers that were sleeping side-by-side. Then Toby and Luna,and the dragons. "Don't worry too much young knight." Eragon rumbled quietly,I nodded,and felt Pan's fur against my leg,and eventually fell asleep.
Next morning i was the first to wake up. I nudged Kiba and Edward awake,"What?" They both mumbled sleepily "Is the barn on fire Johnny?" Edward asked sleepily. I laughed,"No idiot." I chuckled "We are going hunting and getting breakfast before we head out again.". "Ok,just let me get up." Kiba said and hauled himself up,his Brown hair was all frizzy and his eyes were closed. "Ok,I'm up,go get the food." He mumbled "we are going to get the food,smart one." I laughed quietly careful not to wake anyone up. Kiba grumbled and nodded,eventually Edward got up,we grabbed our weapons and quietly headed out into the forest. It wasn't long until herd something in an old Maple tree. "Squirrel for breakfast." Edward mused,"One squirrel coming up!" Kiba said taking a bow out of his quiver,and got his bow ready. He aimed it were the rustling came from, But instead of a squirrel a ten year old pup jumped out of the tree,it was either that or a really big squirrel.
"Heeeyaaaa!"The pup screamed as he fell on top of Kiba which out of surprise shot his arrow at me, "Hey!" I yelped as the arrow barley missed my shoulder. "Geff off meff." Kiba said in a muffled voice,I got a better look at the pup now. He had a Orange fur, spiky Golden hair, Golden eyes like Edward, a ripped Tunic,Ripped leather pants, dirt smeared his face,and then I noticed a big Timber wolf jump off the tree and land perfectly on his paws. "Are you ok Spark?" The wolf asked worried tone. "I'm OK Creek,don't worry." Spark reassured,"I know you from somewhere." I herd Edward whisper,then Spark shot a look at Edward "What are you looking at?" Spark snapped.
"What?" Edward yelped "Oh nothing.". Spark snorted,and finally got off of Kiba. "I can breath!" Kiba cheered,and hopped back on his feet. Spark snickered,"So what are you lot doing this far from Animore?" "A quest." Edward huffed,"Oh-ho!" Creek said "Little wimp is showing some guts!". Spark nodded in agreement,"Hmmf,well I'm not weak,and unless you want an arrow in your head,I suggest you move aside." Edward growled. "Wait."Spark said stepping in front of Edward,"If you are on a quest,I would like to come with." He said. Edward snorted "Why would I want someone that harasses me on a quest with me?" Edward asked. "I won't!" Spark promised "I have a Wolf,and I have a crossbow.."He said trailing off. "Were is it then?" Kiba piped up.
"Creek has it." Spark replied looked at the leather vest with a huge pocket. Spark bent down beside him and pulled out the crossbow. "And do you have a Dragon?" Edward asked pointedly. "Aye," Spark replied "Everyone in Animore has one!". "Where is he then?" I asked, "I forgot to call him. "Spark said sheepishly "Gendo!" He called,then a White Dragon shot up in the sky He had Black spikes on his head,and long talons. He dove toward us and landed slowly. "Hello Gendo." Spark said dipping his head "Spark." Gendo said dipping his head back.
"So," Gendo shooting us a toothy grin. "your the ones that I've seen flying above Animore.". I nodded "Yes." "Why is that so?" Gendo asked I dared to look down at those long sharp Black talons. "Spies for the king perhaps?" Gendo growled smoke leaking from his nostrils . "If you are,then you die!" Gendo roared,but Spark stood in front of me "No Gendo!" He ordered "Get out of the way Spark!" Gendo growled.
"No!" Spark growled"why would they be spies if they are trying to kill the king?" Spark demanded. Gendo stopped growling "Kill him?" Gendo asked. "Wait," I said "how did you know that? We didn't tell you.", "Yeah,It's called 'Border Patrol' genius." Spark said, Creek nodded. "So." Kiba said "If you want to join our quest,come back to camp with us." He said. Spark nodded "Ok." He said and started to follow Kiba. "Wait!" I said,they both turned to look at me. "Did you get the food Kiba?","Yeah!" Kiba grinned He held up a fist full of animals he was holding them from the tail down. "three squirrels,a rabbit,and a cat!". "Leo is going to kill you." Edward told Kiba.
"So." I said to Spark "Do you know anything about King Randolf?". Spark nodded "Gendo used to work for him,but quit when he saw what the King does to his prisoners." Gendo shuddered "It was the most horrible thing I've ever seen," Gendo said "He torturers information out of them, then makes his guards pull them limb-from-limb.". I stared at Gendo,now it was all the more reason to save my parents.
CHAPTER THREE
We Meet an Evil..Woman?
"Toby!" I called,Toby jumped out from a bush with his sword ready,then relaxed "Oh it's you." He said in relief. "Uh-hu." Kiba muttered "So,I'll cook up the grub,and we'll head out for the next town." Kiba said. "No." I said firmly,Kiba looked back at me "Why not?" He asked. Percy looked at me "Yeah,sounded good to me,and plus,I get to eat some cat.". "Hey!" Pan and Leo hissed,"We're going to Animore.",Percy,Pan,and Leo ignored me. "You want to eat us too?" Pan hissed, "Certainly not!" Percy said acting offened but I saw a little gleam in his eye. "It would be fun to watch." Toby's weasel piped up. Pan was just about to make a retort when we herd screaming..from a woman? "Get them! But spare the man! Kill the others!" The female voice shrieked.
"Oh boy." Kiba said nervously "An angry woman, not good." . Then an older looking male about in his late teens or early twenties burst through "That crazy woman!" He gasped as he hid behind me shaking. and three boys followed shortly after, one was about eleven, another was about nine,and the other was six or seven. The three boys hid behind Edward who already had his crossbow loaded. Spark took one of Edward's bows from his very small quiver and loaded it. Toby and I drew our swords while Luna and Kiba aimed their bows. And a tall female burst out of the trees with three guards armed with clubs. "Hmm,a group." she said and her eyes flicked tword me. "You little rat! Get away from him!" she screeched at me,and pointed to the cowering man behind me.My eyes narrowed "I am not a rat!" I growled,I wasn't that tall, but I was taller then Edward. A guard sniggered stupidly,"Shut up Dim-wit!" another said banging the sniggering guards' head with a club. "Can't you see ma'lady is trying to deal with this peasant?" the other asked. While the woman was distracted by her guards,I charged at her with my sword ready. But, her guard quickly kicked me in the stomach before I hit her.
I fell to the ground and coughed a little blood,"Well." I sputtered getting to my feet. "At least i know your guards aren't as weak and stupid as I thought they were." The lady snorted,I saw a quiver strapped around her chest and a bow slung over he shoulder. Ah I thought So she's not a sword type,but her friends aren't so weak. I glanced at them the smallest one had taken me out no sweat. but then a two crossbow bolts flew at him and hit him with pin-point accuracy. One in the chest were the heart was,and one in the head. He fell over blood leaking from the wounds. "Mcgreggor!" the one that hit him with the club cried. But it was no use,Mcgreggor was dead almost instantly when the crossbow bolt hit his chest. "You,you killed him." the Guard growled. He was staring at the body of Mcgreggor,cold and lifeless,staring at nothing. "You damn kids!" the guard yelled,and was about to charge at me. But the lady stepped in his way and whispered in his ear,he nodded,then whispered it into the other Guard's ear. He nodded too,then rushed at Kiba hitting him with his club,knocking him out. Then the skinner Guard caught Kiba before he fell to the ground. "Kiba!" Me and Edward yelled as they dragged him off into the woods.
CHAPTER FOUR
I Lose a Arm
Edward shot his crossbow bolt after them,but I doubt it hit them. "Give Kiba back!" I yelled as I tried to run after them. But Edward held me back "We'll get him back." He reassured. "Let me go!" I yowled "Not until you stop." Edward said firmly. I stopped thrashing,and he let me go. I sank to the ground and bowed my head. "You!" I howled punching the ground "I let them take Kiba,what kind of brother does that?" I asked myself quietly. I felt everyone's eyes on me,but it wasn't pressure,it was sympathy. I started to cry,and I never cry. "Travis.."Toby started but trailed off,Edward rested a hand on my shoulder. "It's ok,we will get him back." Edward said again, I snorted,and wiped the tears from my eyes. "I would've gotten Kiba back by now if you didn't hold me back." I retorted quietly. Edward sighed "We couldn't risk losing you,If you died,who would be the leader?" He asked. I herd a whimpering noise,then looked to my right and saw Percy whimpering while Leo and Pan tried to cheer him up.
I then remembered that the man was still behind me,I wiped away the tears and looked at him. He was trembling,and he had Blackish fur,and a Greyish underbelly,and I just noticed a wolf standing next to him. "Who are you?" I asked a little to harshly. The man just scowled at me "Shadow, Shadow Nightstalker." He said gruffly, I held out a hand "Nice too meet you Shadow Nightstalker.",Shadow just grunted and pushed my hand away. "Why are you leading a bunch of kids?" He asked rudely. "I don't know," I replied "why were you screaming like a girl and running from one?". Shadow stood up and glowered at me. He was a good two feet taller than me,which made it hard to look mean. "Are you going on a quest?" Shadow asked not looking away from me,I nodded "Yeah so?" I asked bluntly. "I'm coming with." He said quickly,"Why?" I asked."I bet I could lead this lot better than you could." Shadow challenged,I shrugged "You want to see?" I asked,I glanced at Edward nodded the tiniest nod,and he nodded back,quickly Edward took out a crossbow bolt from his quiver,and loaded it into the crossbow. He nudged Spark and pointed to his crossbow. Spark nodded and did the same,I looked back at Shadow and saw him unsheathing his sword. I did the same,"Go!" He said quickly and darted forward.
Shadow tried to slash at arm,but I sidestepped. He growled and went for another attempt but i parried with him. Since he's bigger than me,he relies more on his strength then speed. I thought so I kicked his shin and his eyes widened in pain. "Ouch!" He howled,while his sword was lowered I kicked him in the stomach which sent him sprawling back. I put my sword to his throat,"Still think you can lead?" I asked cheerfully. "N-nope!" He mumbled,"What? I didn't hear that." I said putting my free hand up to my ear. "No!" he said louder. I let him up and his wolf scrambled over. "Are you ok master?" the wolf asked,"Yeah,I'm ok." He said,I turned around and I herd footsteps getting closer then the sound of a crossbow bow bolt getting fired and the footsteps stopped. I looked back and saw Shadow with a look of horror on his face,I looked over to a small dead tree and a crossbow bolt was stuck in it. I looked over at Edward and Spark,and Spark's crossbow bolt was gone. "Sorry," Spark said apologetically as Edward glared at him "it slipped." I shrugged "Well,It didn't hit him,so no harm done.". I turned to the kids who were standing there,"And who are you?" I asked lamely. The oldest stepped forward,he looked a lot like Spark. "I'm Will," Will said,then he gestured to his brother that looked liked him "This is Frolo," then he gestured to the smallest who looked exactly like Spark. "and this is Mason."
"Mason,Frolo,and Will?" Spark choked, "Yes?" they chorused "I know you guys." . Will looked at Spark "Big brother?" He asked quietly,Frolo popped out from behind Will "It is him!" Frolo said,and Mason launched himself at him "Hey big brother!" He said grinning. "Ok,Ok." I said quickly "If we're going to have kids in this quest,they are going to be your responsibility Spark.", "Ok Travis!" Spark said absently as he watched Mason ride Creek. I sighed hopelessly,"So," Toby said quickly "You wanted us to go to Animore right?". I turned to him and nodded "Yeah,just not right now." I said quietly and looked at the sky "It's almost dark,so we'll stay here.". "Fine." Toby pouted and turned around to walk in the woods,I saw Shadow walk over to Luna "Well hey there," Shadow said in a flirty way,"what's a good looking thing like you doing out he-" but he was cut off by Toby punching him in the face "No one flirts with Luna!" Toby growled menacingly. He was a about to punch Shadow again,but a rustling noise stopped him.
Then out of no where a muscular knight walked out of the bushes,armed with a sword. I quickly unsheathed my sword. "What do you want?" I asked, The knight looked offended at my words. "I'm only out on night patrol peasant." He shot back,my eyes drifted to his sword it was a long one,and it was a strange looking substance. It looked as if it could come in handy when you want to cut somebody's limb off. "It looks bewitched." I herd Will whisper to Spark. My attention snapped back to the knight as he started talking. "Who might you be young peasant? How did you manage to get a well crafted sword?" the knight asked leaning on his sword. "My uncle." I replied curtly,"Oh you mean Moresby? That fat merchant?" the knight laughed. I ignored his rude remark and continued,"My name is Travis." I said curtly. "Amos's boy?" the knight asked,I nodded growling as I did so.
"You are?" I asked curtly, "Greggory Ruth." he replied. "If you have your sword out you probably want to fight me." I said gripping my sword hilt even tighter. "Right young Travis." He said and stopped leaning on his sword,and held it tightly in his hand. "It felt better being called peasant instead of Travis." I muttered to myself. Then Greggory lunged at me,I quickly blocked it with my sword. He lunged again,this time at my shoulder. In an attempt to dodge the blow it grazed my shoulder. I winced and looked at the cut,it looked deep even thought it felt like it did little to no damage. Greggory grinned evilly,He kicked my shins like I did to Shadow before. I winced again,I lowered my sword in pain. When he saw that I had my guard down he slashed at my shoulder again. I tried to block it but,to late. The sword cut right through my shoulder as if it was made of butter. "GAHHHHH!" I howled in pain,and felt my knees buckle,and before I knew what happened I crashed to the ground. "You cut my arm off." I croaked mustering all my anger but it was just one feeble croak. Greggory's evil grin widened "Indeed I did,and it will be my prize to the dark lord." he told me. He walked up to me and kicked me in the stomach. My eyes widened and I coughed up blood,and I felt some trickle from my mouth too. "Pathetic." He growled with distaste,"Wait," I croaked as he put his sword up to my throat. "What peasant?" He spat,"Who bewitched your sword?". "The dark lord did you idiot." He snapped,"Now," Greggory boomed "Prepare to die!" he was just about to slash my throat when two arrows sprouted from his back.
His eyes widened in pain and shock,he opened his mouth,but fell to the ground. Blood leaking from his chest. "Travis!" I herd a voice call,it was a girl,not Luna,but someone familiar. And before I got to see who it was,everything went Black.
