Prolouge to my new series "Dreaming". You NEED to read this first BEFORE you read any of the dreaming series. All characters are (C) to me.

This may seem abit confusing at first but anyway..

 questions, comments or tips are appreciated but please be nice.. ;)

 

 

 

 

Dusk settled into the blanket of night. The moon rose steadily into the black sky. The forest was deadly quiet.. then blood thirsty howls echoed through the wood shattering the silence.

A silver-gray female wolf carefully ran between the trees, deftly trying not to step on a dry leaf or twig. Shivers ran through her. her pack had been attacked... her pup was still in the den.. She hadn't been able to grab her pup while she was escaping... She had sent the beta female to hide the pup while she tried to create a distraction... The bloody scenes of her beloved pack members getting mauled kept running through her aching head..

now the whole rival pack was trying to rip her apart...

*Scene flashes back  to the time of the massacre*

Everything was calm right before the storm..

Suddenly..

A female pack member screamed..

The alpha female woke up suddenly and ran out of her den to investigate, her mate following after her, growling fiercly.

Two warriors lay dead.. 

"An attack Greystripe." whispered the female to her mate.

"They have us surrounded Silver wind..."

'What are we going to do?.."

other pack members began running towards them.

"Whats happening?"

"Is it an attack?"

"What should we do??"

Grey stripe snarled"They have us completly surrounded, i can smell them..Poison clan..Why can't they leave us alone?!"

The beautiful alpha female shuddered.

Poison clan.. the evilest clan on earth..they were rumored to be part vampire.. tales also told that any victim bitten, was immediatly poisoned and died...

Suddenly...

"AAAUUUGGHH!!"

An enemy warrior had snuck up behind Greystripe and killed him with one bite!

"Grey stripe!! NO!!!!" 

In the blink of an eye the whole pack of Poison clan was upon them....

"Alpha! We're under attack!" screamed Silverwind's beta, Brindleclaw stating the obvious.

"Send out a scout troop  for help..quickly!"

"We cannot alpha,they have us surrounded and most of the scouts have been killed!"

Her worst nightmare was coming true...

"No! this can't be happening... My mate... my pack.."

'Alpha what are your orders?"

"My pup..get my daughter out of here.. use the back tunnel exit.. I trust you Brindle claw my beta.. do not fail me..I'm going to go and distract them..If I should die.. lead our warriors....

The two friends gave each other one last nuzzle..

Then the  grey female quietly  dissapeared into the mist.

The brown beta knew what she had to do..

*scene flashes back to present*

 

 The female kept running and running, behind her she could hear the growls and howls of the rival wolves coming closer....Panic swept over her.. She was next...

Picking up her pace the wolf ran onto a cliff taking a sharp turn. Seeing a stream, she promptly ran through it. It was an unfortunate mistake, the stream was freezing cold and her paws became slightly numb... cursing inwardly, she forced herself to keep running..

She tried every trick she could think of, darting this way and that.. panting harder and harder. She could hear the howls beginning to sound a bit far off..

pausing, she took a short 2 minute rest.. Suddenly a chill grippedher in it's icy grasp...  Even if she could outrun and hide from the rival pack.. HE could still find her, no  matter what she did he could still find her and when he did...

She would never see the light of day ever again...

Never...

Why?

Why was he doing this..

just because she hadn't chosen him..

he was after her and her loved ones to seek revenge...

Pain came back, she was shivering uncontrollably, sweat dripped off her and glistened on her fur..mingeling with her tears..

She was next...

Terror, panic, horror, fear, everything took control of her head...

Swinging her head from side to side, and growling slightly, she tried to get the thoughts out of her head..

"LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" The female gasped knowing she had just given her position away to the enemy!

NO! she still had a chance! She would survive!

In a flash she was off again running at the speed of light, where to? She didn't know.. She just had to come back for her remaining pack members and her little pup, if they were still alive... The thought made her run even faster til she thought all her legs were going to break..

She HAD to stop..

She had to...

Or she would die from exhaustion..

She paused shortly, panting dangerously...

The wolf looked around the small clearing she was in.

Tall trees stretched towards the sky, towering above, her making the small female feel helpless..

It was eerily quiet, deathly quiet..

except for the sound of her heavy panting and broken sobs all was quiet..

Something was wrong..
A twig cracked, 

Heavy breathing...

the gray wolf spun around suddenly and found herself staring into blazing red eyes.

"No it's you...!" She gasped...... "NOOOOOOO!!!" 

The forest was deadly silent once again...
