Cronos and Aniu
Act three: Cronos from bad to worse.
Balto made his way up to his boat, and he could smell Boris. Here it comes.
“Balto!”
As he made his way up the plank, Boris stood over him with a webbed foot tapping.
“Hey Boris…” Balto calmly said as the goose strode up to him.
“Balto, first of all, Vhat have you been doing?” Boris sounded worried. “Jenna and you all just left, and came back. Vhere have you been?”
Balto shook his head, “What are you talking about?” He simply walked past him.
Boris scratched his head, “Balto, you know vhat I’m talking about! You ran avay, didn’t you?”
Balto made a small laugh, “Well, I came back didn’t I? Besides Jenna and the pups went with me, so how bad could it have been?”
“It could be very bad, my dog.” Boris warned.
Balto smiled, “Is that some kind of welcome there, Boris?”
Boris waddled up to him and patted his head, “As alvays my dog, you’re alvays welcome.”
Looking around the deck Balto asked, “So, the bears alright? I didn’t know what you would do with those two without me around.”
Boris took glance at Balto, “Never under estimate my survival skills...” Looking at Balto more carefully, “Your hurt.”
“Wha--?” Balto started, confused, “Oh, it’s just a scratch. I’ve been in much worse, you know that. I’m fine, really! This is nothing, Boris. When I was younger you told me to use the alleys, but I didn’t, that’s when I thought I was goner for sure. That time.”
“I’m talking about the one on your throat.” Boris pointed his long feather at Balto.
Balto used his chin to somewhat hide it, “It’s nothing, Boris.”
Boris eyed angrily at him, “VHAT! A throat bite is ‘nothing’! That’s fatal, for me, anyone…it’s fatal! And you vant me to forget about it?”
Balto smiled and twitched his ears, “Yep.” He lazily stretched his back.
Boris sighed, “There’s no fighting with you, dog. And that’s why I need to stay here ‘till you can get on your own feet.”
Balto half smiled and chuckled, “I don’t think you can take care of me.” Boris starred sadly at him as he continued, looking out to the horizon, “I’ve grown up, I’ve saved a town, I’ve gotten my every dream to come true, and I have the best thing in my life, so what else do I need?” He turned back to Boris, “And you think you know how to raise pups, then?”
Boris shook his head slowly, “You still know nothing. I believe I was there for you every step of the vay.” He patted Balto’s head softly.
“Very true Boris.” Balto grinned, “But I think at pup raising all you know how to do is get eaten by them!” Boris squinted in disgust, but before he could come up with a retort, Balto cocked his head and said with mock soberness, “Only the truth there, Boris.”
“Only to an extent, lover boy.” Boris somewhat shouted. “I do believe that I was the one who raised you.”
“And you also do great with bear cubs.”
Boris’ mouth dropped open. He was caught. Slowly regaining his composure, he smiled gamely, “Then I’m probably best expert on child-rearing. Oh, I could talk for hours on the subject, so it’s probably best if you don’t get me started on how to raise them.”
Balto laughed as walked to the end of the boat, “Whatever you say, Boris.” He looked out over the iced water towards the town, “So… ‘vhat’ did I miss.”
Boris furrowed his brows, “Well you missed a storm.”
I think I was in it... Balto thought. “ ‘Vas’ that it?” he smirked at Boris.
“Stop that!” Boris snapped, “Oh, yeah, you also missed the missing dog fliers.” Balto turned away like a puppy that knocked over a pot and was caught. “Oi! And one that will affect you most, they make new rumors ‘bout you.”
Balto smiled but didn’t turn around, “What did they come up with this time?” he asked cheerfully.
Boris scratched his head, debating to tell him or not, “Well, one vas that you killed Jenna and the pups and then ran off.”
He swirled around, “What? Where do they get that stuff?” He seemed disturbed by the rumor, but upon further thinking, “Wait a minute, I thought you didn’t like going into town?” Balto looked expectantly at Boris.
Boris brushed off his wings, “I’m vour eyes and ears, and I vas worried, so I checked the town.”
Balto smiled, “Uh-huh… sure you do.”
“Da… Vhat are you saying?”
“I think you know ‘vhat’ I’m saying.” Balto said with a smile.
“Are you saying that I start those?!” Boris was offended, “I raise you!”
Balto quickly shook his head, “ ‘Vhat’ I mean, is that I ‘vant’ you not to say ‘vhat.’”
Boris scratched his head, “Vhat? I say ‘vhat’ correctly.”
Balto shook his head “No. You say ‘vhat’ SAY ‘what’.”
“I did…” Boris said confused.
“Say ‘what’ not ‘vhat’.” Balto shook his head, it was all he could do to stop himself from laughing.
“Okay… ‘Vhat…’ Are you happy?” Boris said slightly annoyed.
“No…say ‘what’ not ‘vhat’, ‘What,’ ‘WH-at.’” Balto slowly sounded it out for him.
“I did say that! I’m not saying ‘vhat!’” Boris exclaimed.
“No…you’re not your saying vhat, not what.” Balto cocked his head with a smile.
“Balto! I’m saying vhat not vhat, vhat, vhat, and vhat! I’m saying it!” Boris exclaimed.
Balto smiled, with unconvinced smile, “Sure you are.”
Boris pointed a feathery finger at Balto. Balto looked at his finger and innocently spoke, “What?”
There was a pause, Balto twitched his ears, “Hey this will be the first winter for Cronos and Cinder won’t it…” he sounded somewhat depressed about the fact.
Boris hopped onto the ledge “Yep, there growing up.”
“I wish they weren’t.” Balto regretfully spoke he looked at Nome, with worry.
“Vhat? Isn’t that a parents dream seeing them grow up and live their lives?”
Balto sighed, “I’ve missed it Boris…I stay far away from them, most of the time, I love them so much, I remember when I first saw them now I’ve blinked and now there getting older and…” he couldn’t didn’t finish.
“And bigger?” Boris finished, in an understanding tone. Poor dog…
“A lot bigger, so much time in one blink.” he took a breath and let it out, to calm himself.
“It will get-” Boris started, but was cut off by Balto’s coughing, Boris jumped to his side, “Balto!”
He moved away, “I’m fine. Just fine just catching a cold.” Boris looked at his teeth there was some blood on them. “I’m fine!” he repeated more strictly, “I just need some sleep ok?”
Boris looked at him sadly, “Fine I guess even you haft to sleep more on some days.”
Balto half smiled, “You got that right there Boris, as you always do.” He went to his blanket and used his noise to lift it up so he could go under the blanket; he turned around to poke his head out of the blanket, he closed his eyes.
“Very tired, in deed.” Boris stretched his wings; you don’t seem to tell your problems to anyone not even to me. Boris worriedly thought.
Balto looked around, not sure were he was, “Where am I?” he could see he Nome. He sighed with relief, “Just home sweet home.”
He stretched his back, “But how’d did I get here?” he asked himself, he raised an ear as he cocked his head, “hey it’s the Morse code guy.” cheerfully spoke.
“Nome suffers. Stop. Great lose of life. Stop.” Balto widen his eyes. “Antitoxin too late, stop.”
Balto shot up from his sleep, Boris turned to see him awaken so fast, “Something wrong, Balto?”
“Nothing it was just a dream…” Balto quietly spoke, “What time is it?”
Boris looked at him, “How should I know? We got no clock, how bout you go steal one, then will know.” he teased.
Balto laughed at Boris, “How I’m going to do that?” Balto joked.
“Hmm. I do recall you have the keys to the city.” Balto and Boris both laughed.
“Boris…that make me a criminal.” Balto replied to Boris.
Boris smiled and looked at him more carefully, “Aren’t you already wanted for trash can dumping?” he mockly smiled.
He stopped himself from laughing, “That survival Boris, that’s something different.”
“Maybe that’s why you like Aladdin so much from Arabian knights.” Boris suggested, “Your pretty much the same.”
“Boris? When did you learn that story?” Balto asked.
“I have my vays.” Boris said rubbing his feathery fingers, with victory.
Balto looked up with his eyes looking for a counter, “Well, how do I know you’re not lying their Boris?”
“You will never now my dog. You will never know.” He teased him.
Balto frowned, “I need to learn how you do that. Boris how’d you do that, when your not angry, you just give the best advice.”
Boris shook his head, “Because you’re like a piñata from old country.”
“Boris what is a piñata?” He asked evilly.
“I’m not telling…oh dear!” Boris called out.
Hector ran as fast as you could but slowed, “What’s the point? The point of return.” He answered himself.
Hector just started to walk around not really going anywhere He quickened his speed. “Don’t.” Hector told himself. He stopped and started crying, “I’m lost! Of all the things I’m lost.” Put his head up, “No! Wait…” Hector smelt some blood far off. “Blood?” He followed the sent. For while He could finely see the source of the blood sent “A dead wolf?” Hector said to himself. I don’t know theses wolves. He thought to himself as looked up seeing more wolves’ dead. Hector looked around he froze seeing dead pups, “Who would!?” He grew angry; he looked at the tracks “They were trying to run!” He dug his claws in the snow, “Why?!” Hector being a parent with pups was enraged. He stopped the blood was fresh this wasn’t long ago. Hector started to listen to his senses. I can try to sniff the guy out. “I don’t know anyone!” He called out. Hector tried following senses but it led to failure. “Might as well try to find home.”
“Ah! Balto get your slobbering mouth of me!” Boris used his wings to try to get his head free.
“Tell me, what is a piñata?” Balto demanded he smiled as Boris tried to get away. “You can try all day Boris.”
He raised a feathery finger, “I gotten free before.”
Balto shook his head, “At what age was I?” Balto teased, “4 months?” Balto moved over to edge of the bout’s bow, “Tell me vhat’s a piñata?”
He screamed, “Let me go!” Balto shrugged and let go. Boris fell down, “VA! Ha! Phew!” he fell down and at the last moment grabbed onto the edge of the bout’s bow. “You got habits.”
“It’s home sweet home Boris.” Balto took a few sniffs, “Hey think I smell Muk and Luk.” He said almost cheerfully. Boris grabbed the pale he looked at around.
“Lookin’ for this?” Balto asked holding the mop in his mouth.
“Give that back!” Boris shouted, as he heard the polar bears near.
Cronos stretched his back, “never again will I walk…” He laid down next to his mother.
Cinder looked at him still wide-awake “Come on Cronos it can’t be that bad think of the work out, build muscles. Like mother and father.” He urged his brother.
He looked up with his eyes, “I’d rather go fat.”
Jenna laughed, “ah, Cronos that attitude you won’t go anywhere.”
Cronos scuffed as he twitched his ear, “It get me to sleep that’s where. I’m tired, I want to go to bed.” He complained tiredly.
Jenna smiled, “I’m glad one of you finely said that ‘I want to go to bed.’” she eyed Cinder; Cinder pointed his tong out at her, as she said it.
“I sleep when I feel I like it.” He said proudly, as he raised his head.
“Yeah mighty lord, the last time you said that you fell asleep faster than three minutes.” She recalled from her memory.
He growled in response Cronos opened an eye, “Why are so loud.” He made a grumble whimper as he tried to sleep. “So…loud…”
Cinder half frowned and half smiled at him, “I don’t know what’s up with that head of yours.” Cronos grumbled in response.
“Let him sleep Cinder, as you now have to sleep.” She ordered Cinder.
“I hate this…I’d be better parent.” He complained.
“I’d love to see try, Cinder I’d love to see that.” she mocked her child.
“I’ll prove it when I’m older.” He warned her.
“I’ll remember those words, and use them against you later.” She said to her son. He shook his head as he laid down next to the wall.
“Night slave driver.” He said as forced his eyes shut Cinder moved on to his side trying to get more comfortable.
She giggled at his remark to her, she sighed, she wanted her two pups to grow up, but never really saw it, and they just seem to suddenly get bigger to her. She looked at Cinder then Cronos. She loved when they both would sleep next to her, like they did when they where younger, but she could which of the brothers was more dominate of the two Cinder, but she felt relaxed having one of her sons sleep next her though she wished both would.
Fang paced around, he stopped to itch his ear with his leg. “Stupid itches.” He looked across the meadow, “It’s snowing as they call it.” He headed down the to the snowy meadow.
He trotted down till he was in the middle he looked around to check everything out, he sniffed the ground and looked up at the cave, he blinked at the cave, that’s right that Cronos guy of Aniu look, and something else. He smiled. I said I’d visit so I will.
He worked his way back by his memory of the past time he had with Cronos dragging him to the outskirts of that human town. That wimp. But I like him. He seems like he’s lost something like I have. He sniffed and looked around till he found it. He was on the outskirts.
He stretched his back, he turned hearing a lot of noise to the west of him he saw a boat in the distance. He couldn’t really see anything but he could hear them. “Dogs…” He went on walking along. He stopped, “what I am doing?” he questioned himself, “I don’t know where the guy lives, and I’ll have to watch around for days for a sight of the weak guy.” he shook his head, I have to think faster, this is too slow…everything must be instant no having second thoughts, they have to be thought twice as one thought. He sniffed the ground and looked up twitching his ears. He could hear some humans talking somewhere. He stayed at following his senses and left.
He trotted along he could see the moon but he ignored it, he yawned he needed to find a safe place to sleep, he started going back to that one cave where he helped Cronos before. He wondered about it why did I help him in the first place, I mean he was weak and alone. He wasn’t a fighter or a runner by the looks why did I save him? He wasn’t anything no talent no nothing it be he’s immature looks to Aniu or and one other thing. He shook his head, I don’t see why that be a reason too, Aniu… is nothing to me. Even though…because of that what she did before I can’t accept it from her. He put a paw on his head as memory flashed in his head, a dark gray wolf. It gave him a headache, Fang’s head moved to the side. he shook his head be ridding the thought, it made him cry. Fang to a breath and used his paws whip the tears away. “I’ll kill him, I’ll kill him!” He roared aloud, He howled a long howl to the moon, for his revenge. “Aniu…” He growled. “This is all a test. I’ll start with you.”
Spirit paced around, slightly whimpering, “Mom how come I couldn’t go with dad?” she complained.
Loresa nuzzled her pup, “first off, it’s not safe, and you’re too young.”
“Dad could keep me safe you know that.” She went on, “You said he was strong!”
“Yes he is very strong, but some things even if he can, doesn’t mean he should take you.” Loresa said with some worry. Everyone doesn’t exactly like Hector. It might lead to trouble and I don’t approve.
“Your quick enough to let me wonder alone.” Her daughter pointed out.
“Yes I let you do that but your never out of my range, if you where I’d bring you right back here.” Loresa straightened out.
“Yeah now you finely want to go out and adventure, it only to took two more weeks.” Tiger mocked to his sister.
She growled to her brother. Raccoon joined in, “No longer a sissy den?”
Tiger laughed Spirit ran over to her brother she jumped and bit his ear. He yelped, but bit Spirits leg, he let go, “hey Spirit that hurts!! Why do always bit the ear so hard?!”
She growled, “Because it hurts.” Tiger tried using his paw to push Spirit away.
“Yeah but I bite to leg would disable. That hurts stop!” He protested with his sister.
Raccoon bit Spirit’s ear hard, “Stop it!” She yelped and let go.
Loresa watched with interest, Raccoon has been doing that more often, looks like he’s turning out to be an omega wolf, after all, as Hector said…when you were born…that’s odd…
“Let go!” She demanded at Raccoon did as he was told. Spirit growled at them.
“You just do that, because I’m sister, little cheater!” She growled at them.
Raccoon looked at his brother, “Nope…I do that to stop fighting, fighting is bad…”
Tiger looked at him angry, “So you get the best at it!” he protested at his brother.
“Ah…” Raccoon looked around slightly confused, “No…I told you, and to stop the fighting that’s all.” He thought he was doing something right, but both his siblings told him otherwise. He looked at the ground, in thought.
“That’s right you better think of that!” Spirit growled. Tiger rolled his eyes at his sister.
Loresa just smiled at the event that they were having, “Hey get off each others tails, before you end up.”
“What?” Tiger said almost instantly, “End up?” Raccoon said as he was looking down, his eye where fixed on the ground. Spirit just frowned and scratched her ear.
“Before we get…in trouble?” Raccoon guessed trying to figure out what she said meant.
Loresa smiled with a silent with a laugh, “Yeah before you get into trouble…big trouble.”
Raccoon lad with his head between his paws not wanting to be in trouble, Tiger on the other hand wasn’t afraid, “What’s the punishment?”
“You’ll have to find out there Tiger.” Loresa evilly smiled. Tiger seeing her face did the same as his brother.
“That sounds like something dad would say.” Spirit somewhat complained.
“Not really, dad would be more not-understandable.” Raccoon explained.
“Nothing makes sense with dad.” Tiger added there was a pause.
“No, you just have to learn how he talks that’s all, he’s really understandable then.” Their mother finely said.
“Maybe in dreams.” Spirit joked, Tiger and Raccoon laughed at the joke.
Loresa was about to say something but didn’t. ‘I don’t want them to have restrictions about talking about me. I know they might because I will be a weird father compared to everyone else’s.’ Hector said softly. ‘But you told me it hurts! A lot…I don’t want to be hurt at home.’ Loresa cried. ‘They won’t under stand…’ Hector smiled, ‘It’s just fine, will tell them some dop-day! Sorry.’ Loresa sighed, ‘Why Hector?’
“AH NO!” Hector cried out, “How’s I get lost again!”
4 days later.
Cronos groaned a whimper Dad hasn’t visited yet. And there’s a fence blocking every way in. How is going to visit? He closed his eyes he whimpered he missed his father. “Hey.”
“GOSH!” Cronos jolted backwards hitting the house. “Owwww.” He mumbled to himself.
“You shouldn’t bolt like that, it can hurt you a lot there Cronos.” He looked up at his father.
He shook his head, “How’d you? Get in, it’s blocked every where.” Cronos looked down the house to the way they usually left; a fence blocked it. “Then how’d you.”
Balto smiled, “I keep my promises Cronos, where’s the rest of ya?”
He was about to answer but his ears folded back, “I don’t know.”
“Nothing to be ashamed of Cronos, we just go to go find them, as father and son what else?” his father asked, trying to cheer him up. “Any idea where they are?”
He paused, “Ah, maybe inside…” Cronos wasn’t really sure; he spent the day waiting so he didn’t know.
“Well then why don’t we look?” Balto offered his son Cronos.
“Sure, dad.” He softly said disappointed in himself. What eating him? Balto thought to himself. They both walked to the side when they could see Cinder on his back asleep with his back leg twitching.
“Stay here and be quiet for a moment ok?” Balto asked his son, Cronos nodded his head not really knowing why he had to be quiet.
Balto quietly walked up to Cinder so he had no chance at waking up. When he reached Cinder he lifted his paw pushing his son’s shoulder then quickly jumped over him. Cinder awoke almost instantly he jolted awake and franticly looked to the side where he had been touched. Cinder moved his head franticly, he stopped when he saw Cronos, he paused think it must have been Cronos but he was way over there. He suddenly jolted to his other side as he felt another touch from somewhere he looked and saw nothing “What the…” He said to himself confused. “Yo.” The sound came from his right ear. He jolted away from it. Balto stood there amused and walked back to Cronos. It took a moment for Cinder to understand his eyes moved back and forth a few times. He looked down his left and down his right. “Cool.” He said to himself realizing what happened.
“Alright.” Balto said to himself. Where’s Jenna now? he looked around for a moment.
“Oh dad, Rosé took Mother out for a walk.” Cinder chimed in as if answering his thoughts.
“That figures.” He said jokingly, “Yeah that’s how the world works.” He smiled, “Anything happened lately?” he asked his sons.
Cinder paused for a moment, “Well I heard a new word, I don’t know what it meant but, I know it was to Cronos I don’t know if was a complement, or an insult either way it didn’t make sense.”
“Oh.” Balto said with interest, “What was the word?” Balto dared a glance at Cronos who moved slightly away from his sight.
Cinder paused he looked at Cronos who nodded his head to him, Cinder shrugged, “Some guy on the sled team said this to him, ‘Hi you tramp-in-son.’”
He looked over at Cronos by his looks He could tell Cronos knew what the word meant. He dug his paw into the ground, why…
“Dad are you alright?” Cronos asked, seeing his fathers paws dug in the dirt.
“I think he has an itch.” Cinder said like a smart guy. “You should just itch it Father.”
“Speaking of itching. You know when Rosé itches your chin or belly your leg just starts twitching?”
Cinder nodded his head, “Yeah it’s freaky! It twitches so you try to stop it and it twitches even more you can’t control it!”
Cronos nodded his head, “Dad do you know why that is its just moves.”
He wanted to answer his sons but he couldn’t he didn’t know what it felt like, or how it felt to itched by a human, maybe once or twice on the ear. He blinked, “That’s a wonder.”
Cronos sat and itched his ear, “Wonder?”
He smiled, “Wonder means like you never know, or how it is possible.” Crack! The three turned their heads to the fence.
“Stupid TREE!!” they heard from the other side, “You won’t get my friend today!” it was banged again, “Ouch ok you win today!” They heard it wonder off.
Cinder walked to the fence, which was bent. He shook his head, “What was that?” Cronos looked at the fence, the voice was familiar to him.
The day past on Balto stayed though it all, was late when Jenna finely appeared. Balto had gotten to wrestle Cinder. she walked to the scene, “What Balto what are you doing here?”
Balto looked up at her, “Just dropped by.” He said with a smile he was laying down flat on his belly with Cinders front half under him trying to pull away.
She could hear the muffled voice, “I can’t breath!” She looked at him with some anger, “He said he can’t breath.”
Balto shrugged, “He said that five minutes ago, if really can’t breath he couldn’t talk. The muffled voice returned, “I really can’t breath!!”
She gave him an evil glare; he gave in, “Alright.” Balto lifted himself up. Cinder jolted backwards and took a huge breath.
“For moment I thought you where going to kill me.” Cinder said.
His father laughed at him “Believe me Cinder, you where no where near that point.”
“YES! I was!!” He called back in protest, “How would you know?”
Balto sighed and smiled at him, Cronos rolled his eyes, and he knew what his father was about to say. “Remember that story that you mother tells you about…me?”
Cinder nodded his head somewhat angry, “Yeah why?!”
Balto rolled his eyes, “You know in the part, where I’m attacked by a bear, and your mother saved me?”
Cinder shook his head repeatedly, “I know, I know I know! Gosh I’ve only heard it-”
Balto interjected him, “The part after that?” He asked calmly.
“You lead the bear to the ice and fell though and then you fell though the ice and drowned.” Cinder said broadly, He suddenly tensed up, “Oh, yeah…”
Jenna twitched at the memory scratching the ice, Balto being moved away from under the ice. Those moments still brought her nightmares. “He did drown their Cinder, but I won’t be the first to say it.”
Cronos cocked his head with interest, “Whyyy?” he said in a puppy tone.
Cinder answered for her, “Denial, females don’t like admitting something really bad happened in the past or then.”
She frowned, “That’s not true.” She looked at Balto, “You don’t actually believe that?”
He made a shyly smile “Jenna Well…”
She scoffed, “Males…” she didn’t like it when they did that; sometimes I wish I bore females then those two.
She noticed Cronos reaction to her scoff, she listen carefully she heard him say, “Males…I’m I really like that?” She wondered about him, she saw Cronos look at the moon.
Cinder paused, “Hmmm. Father where do puppies come from?”
He shook his head “No! Not that again!” he laughed, “If you win at a wrestle I will tell.”
Cinder frowned “That’s not possible! Man! Well, I could ask Terry.”
He shook his head, “Don’t. She is a little touchy on that subject.”
Jenna walked over to Cronos who stared at the moon, “Hey what’s going on?”
Cronos turned to his mother, “Oh…nothing.” He returned his gaze at the moon.
She giggled, “Your obviously doing something.” She nudged her son, trying getting him talk.
“Why is the moon…?” Cronos stopped, She moved closer saying continue without saying anything.
“Why is it wondering to…look at?” He finely said, rather frightened.
She smiled, “That normal Cronos, no need to be frightened by saying that, what you like.”
He whimpered, “But…I don’t see you or Cinder doing that…”
She sighed, “Cronos…” why does he do that, why does he think liking other things then other dogs is wrong? I don’t want to tell him he is wrong. “Everyone different Cronos, I wonder about the northern lights, that always gets me, also if you watch your father will do that time to time, look at the moon.” She went back to Balto and Cinder.
He watched her leave, my dad does things I do…I remember telling me never to worry to do things I want. I wanted to do this for as long as I can remember… Cronos felt himself get angry without realizing it; everyone treats me wrong…why…I hate it! I hate it! Then Cinder is treated normally is being like this wrong…dad isn’t treated that way. Cronos lowered his eyebrows with depression, It’s me…I’m the wrong I shouldn’t be here…I only reflect bad…I don’t want dad to see me fail…I don’t…
“Father can Terry read minds?” Cinder asked the topic somehow changed to the dogs they met in their life.
“It kind of does seem like that…a lot.” Balto finely said.
“Well Jake said that she could.” Cinder said while cocking his head. “Maybe she can say things in your mind too.”
Jenna laughed, “I don’t think so that is impossible.”
Balto stood up, “Nothing, is impossible!”
“Something has to be Father…everyone has limits.” Cinder pointed out.
He made a smile frown, “Don’t tell me odds.” Cinder and Jenna laughed. They turned to Cronos hearing him howl.
Cronos howled as load as he could get his voice would travel. Well I know…sometimes I wish I was someone else but I can’t be that. Never be afraid. Cronos lowered his head and raised his head again and howl again. Cronos knew the risk this was for howling like this, more mocking was his guess, but he didn’t care.
Fang staying on the outskirts of the town, looked towards the town, hearing howling, that’s that Cronos guy… He moved his eyes to the right. He heard yelling, “Now you, don’t shoot!!! AH!” He watched a gray wolf run into a forest. Who is that?
Hours past, Jenna had gotten Cronos and Cinder to sleep with add of Balto to put Cinder down. Balto looked at Cronos smiling down at him. He then walked out side to watch the moon. Jenna walked up to him, “Well you seem proud.”
“Well…I first thought I didn’t want them to do that…but hearing it from them is like…” He looked down with his smile he couldn’t define words for how it felt.
She smiled at Balto, “Yep. Never where a male of words.” He made a small laugh, She smiled at him in a rather of ‘why are you still here?’ “Why are you still here?” Jenna asked.
Balto looked at her oddly, “Because I want to.” he said defensively.
She gave him the look ‘oh I see.’ “You’re stuck.” she said very mockingly, with a smile.
He blushed and looked away, “I’m not stuck. I could get out if I wanted to.”
Her smile grew, “hmm sure. Then show me Mr. Escape artist.” She knew of why he hadn’t left yet.
He somewhat looked at her still blushing, “I want to spend the night. I don’t want to leave, what’s wrong with that?”
“O…k…” She mockingly spoke again, Balto still refused to make eye contact, She smiled, “Balto hon.? Could look at my eyes?”
Balto moved his eyes back and fourth from looking at her and the moon, “Eh, why?” He spoke nervously.
“Just to see your eyes.” She said somewhat flirtingly she moved slightly closer.
Balto eyes stayed longer on Jenna between passes from looking at the moon. “You’ve seen ‘em.” He said more nervously.
“Come’ on please.” Jenna urged on, He made a slight whimper.
“Alright.” He sighed and looked into Jenna’s eyes, “their beauty still surpasses the sea.”
Jenna smiled, “Thank you are you stuck?” she asked again.
He gave a heavy sigh, “Yes I ‘m stuck, I went over the fence from a pile of wood and there is nothing for me stand on to jump the fence again.”
She laughed in triumph, “I knew it!” she somewhat walked way then turned around, “I know your weak point is to lie, you can’t lie when you’re looking into a girls eyes.”
He made a small frown, “Yes I can.” He stood up and walked over to Jenna.
Jenna giggled, “Nice try, there buddy-boy.” Balto moved closer, “Oh want to prove it eh? All right say something I know is a lie like ‘I hate Rosé.’ Say that.”
He nodded his head “Fine, Jenna, you, hate Rosé.” He cocked his head “Proof.”
She smiled and shook her head slightly, “Say it to my eyes not the fence Balto, I’m over here.”
He slightly grumbled and look at Jenna, “Jenna you…gosh I can’t.” She laughed at him, “All right then how do you do it?”
She shook her head “I’m not going tell you how to lie, I like how you’re honest. Why would I teach you that?” She asked.
“So…it’s ok for you lie to my face but I can’t lie to you?” He asked with a smile.
“Yes-no! That was a trick question! And you know it.” Jenna protested.
He leaned back, “uh huh sure it was, I see now, how will I ever know you telling the truth to me again?” He said sarcastically.
“Because I will tell you the truth.” She said defensively at him.
“But if you can lie to my face how will I know? If you lie to the face.” He leaned back a little more and more angry.
“Balto I won’t lie to you. I don’t have any reason to lie to you.” She said comfortingly.
Balto didn’t seem satisfied, “Now how many secret lives do you have? Maybe five? Then?”
“Balto I wouldn’t lie to you!” She almost shouted.
He smiled and sighed, “I guess the only way to find out is to stock you.” He said with a shrug.
She caught on to Balto’s behavior, “Oh no. Naughty, naughty Balto.”
He shrugged “Just telling what I will be doing, there’s nothing more to it.”
She smiled, “Lets get some sleep then, Mr. Stocker.”
He stretched his back, “It’s about time for that, isn’t it, ah gosh.” She giggled, “Stuck?” “No!” He quickly replied to her. “Say it to my eyes.” “Stop it!”
Cronos awoke in the morning he looked for his father, he was sure he stayed the night, he looked around he found a dug hole under the fence. “Huh?” it had his fathers sent, He had lost interest in it and went back to where fell asleep before.
“Cronos wake up!” Cinder playfully cheered as he walked up to him.
“I don’t want too, I’m tired…talk to mom.” Cronos moved his head wanting to sleep again.
“Kill joy.” His brother said, disappointed.
“Tell me when I care…” Cronos said sleepily not really caring about anything but how to sleep. “Leave me alone.”
One month later.
Over this time Cronos had really changed instead of becoming like his father he seemed to drift to another type of brown his eyes slowly drifted to yellow as well.
Cronos was led by Cinder to sneak out using the hole their father dug that one-day. “Come on Cronos where seeing the town on our own for the first time.” He happily said.
Cronos shook his head, “Mom might get angry at us Cinder maybe this isn’t a good idea.”
Cinder shook his head, “First off, mother always seems pissed off at something, and second you need to live Cronos.”
“I Live I’m alive Cinder what do you mean by that?” Cronos asked confused.
He turned his head at Cronos, “To have fun once in a while. Now come on we have stuff to see.”
“Alright well do you know where we even are Cinder I don’t want to get lost, it can lead to trouble.” Cronos said nervously.
“Cronos…lighten up besides where already lost, I don’t know where we are and we just having some excitement. Mother and Father will tell you that, Father did it a lot so why can’t we?” He asked trying prove his point.
“W…where lost?” Cronos asked taking a few steps back, “Then we should try to get unlost.”
“‘Unlost’ isn’t a word, and we will know soon enough just you wait, lets live life to the fullest I’m not too found of the fence either.” He said slightly biting Cronos scruff to push him along.
“Alright, Cinder where do we go first?” Cronos asked wanting an answer before moving again.
“Well.” Cinder looked to his left then to his right and back at Cronos, “Left or right?”
“What? Uh…um…eh…ah right?” He said nervously.
“Cronos cool off, if we get into trouble just do that cool howl and father will be here in two heart beats, now lets go right.” He said pushing Cronos along.
Cinder and Cronos turned right walking down the street, Cronos wasn’t talking much but despite being nervous he was still a pup and was ever curious about things.
“Didn’t mother say most dogs go the boiler room when they want to talk and all?” Cinder asked for a recall.
Cronos nodded his head, “Yeah that’s what mom, said or implied rather but where is it?”
“I can help you there.” Cronos started shivering and turned to the sound, with wide eyes, “Hey I know you.”
“LEAVE ME ALONE!” Cronos acting out of his gut reaction ran away to the left.
Cinder cocked his head, “Wow. Who are you?”
“The name is Pete, I’m a…don’t know what I am, a mutt I guess.” Pete said he looked like pure bred husky.
“You look pure to me. I need to get Cronos, you know him?” Cinder asked.
“Yeah I told him a story when his paw was stuck under something.” Pete said with a smile.
“Maybe you could tell me something then?” He asked with his tail wagging.
“Nah. I forgot anyway, I’m too carefree to remember stories.” Pete said with a smile, pups are so easy to lie to. “I’ll go get him, besides I’m bigger and could get him back easier.”
Cinder nodded his head “Yep, that is true but I don’t want to wait here do you know where the boiler room is?”
Pete nodded “Yeah it’s right behind me.” Cinder looked behind him.
“Well that was easy.” He said delighted.
Pete walked along “Don’t worry he’ll be back soon.”
Cronos stopped running and took a few breaths “That was close.”
“May I know what was close?” Pete said to Cronos from behind.
He half grunted and started running again, Pete shook his head, “Come on.” Pete gave chase and easily caught up to him, “You can’t out run me.”
“Yes. I can, leave me alone!” He yelled stopping and running the other way.
“Well you have to do better, I got another story for you.” Pete said with a smile.
“NO!” Cronos left he alley he was in and ran to his right then down and alley and turned left running as fast as his legs would go.
Cronos used his paw to stop himself as he saw Pete in front of him waiting. “There’s faster ways you know?”
He stopped in front of him, “Why? What do want to tell me?” He said calmly, while panting.
“Because you have the natural talent I can tell.” Pete said taking a few steps toward him.
Cronos took a few away, “What natural talent?”
“First off, you sort of wolf looking and your tail.” Pete said with an admiring look.
“What’s with my tail?” He asked nervously, as he took a few steps away.
“Well I was here to get you to the boiler room from that other guy you were with.” Pete said ignoring Cronos question.
“Cinder?” He said moving his eyes back and forth.
“You do that when you think don’t you their Cronos?” He said watching him.
“What, what do you mean?” Cronos asked, confused.
“You move your eyes when deep in thought.” Pete said imitating it.
“I do? Why did Cinder, why did you tell me that…disturbing story anyway.” Cronos asked rather meanly.
“Well first off I don’t really know, for some reason I had to tell you, I tell other stories as well.” Pete said.
“I was just a pup!” Cronos yelled at Pete.
“Well when I tell pups before they don’t know what’s going on and they don’t get it at all, they don’t know and don’t really care they listen but they don’t know and shrug at it. And you…you knew what was going on…you some how at that age knew everything I was saying and wanted to get away.” Pete said as he remembered the event. ‘Stop it!’ Cronos grunted pulling away and chewing the fence board, ‘I don’t want to hear it!’ “You’re the first I had ever met you knew what I was talking about when less then nine weeks and you somehow knew…”
“Okay…is that wrong?” Cronos said confused, “What’s up with that?”
“Oh nothing you little father soon to be.” Pete said with a smile.
“Your sick!” He angrily replied to Pete, “Just get me to the boiler room.”
Pete shrugged “what ever this way, anyway.” Cronos cut him off.
“NO stories!” Cronos quickly spat, “I don’t like them one bit at all.”
Pete laughed, “Ah, will, you will when you’re older. I can prove that.”
Cronos growled, “Is that the only thing on your MIND!” He continued to growl after that.
Pete looked from side to side checking everything out, “Oh. That eh? Ah, um pretty much yeah, you will soon enough.”
“I don’t like you…” Cronos said under his breath.
Pete over heard him, “You will later, when your run into relationship problems I can fix them.” Cronos slightly bared his teeth in response to his remark.
The both started walking to the boiler room, Pete lead the way back, Cronos swore he was taking the long way back, and he was telling him what to look for in a female mostly how they look as Cronos heard. Cronos annoyed could smell his father close but was to annoyed to care.
Pete suddenly perked up his ears and slightly lifted his tail, “Now that’s class 1. Or whatever you like. She turns on, isn’t she?”
Cronos looked at the female he was talking about, he froze up, “That’s my mom!”
Pete smiled and made a sex growl; Cronos shook his head saying no with out saying anything. “I’ll show you how it’s done.” Cronos mouthed no as if yelling.
Pete eyed her Jenna as he walked up to her, he looked behind her and smiled, this is going to be cool. “Hey beautiful what are you doing here?”
Jenna was slightly surprised by the comment “Thank you, I’m here just talking.”
Pete shook his head, “Talking that all, is that really it all, my lady.” She liked the comment, the dog behind Jenna lifted his head up and turned with a slightly angered look it was Balto.
Balto turned and looked at him, “Excuse me? What are you doing that is my mate and your talking like-”
Pete cut him off, “Your mate is for the public.” Pete said with a smile, Jenna instantly hit him in the face.
Pete had to use the rest of his strength to stop his next remarks; Pete shrugged and went to Cronos hiding behind a box. Cronos looked at him, “Why did you do that?”
“Because it will make them closer to each other that is why. And it works all the time.” Pete said with a smile.
“Closer what are some short of-” Pete cut him off.
“That is what I do, that my purpose here isn’t it?” Pete said quickly.
“Pervert.” Cronos didn’t even think a guy to live this way or even live still.
“I don’t like being called, that how about, like relationship man?”
Cronos shook his head, “Hey Cronos!” He turned his head to his brother who came out of the boiler room, “Hey come on in.” Cinder trotted over to his brother.
Cronos turned his head away, “Ah no thanks I’ll stay out side.”
Cinder was about to ask why but he knew Cronos liked being alone when he said things like that, “All right there Cronos but if you want to come in it’s warm and dad is even coming inside! I know you’ll like that.” He looked at Cronos eyes and left as if was no big deal.
Pete looked at Cronos oddly, Cronos wanted to go inside the boiler room, but he knew he’d be made fun of and he didn’t want his father near when ever that happened, he wanted so badly to look strong in front of his father but he couldn’t find anyway, he wasn’t that fast, or had a Sharpe tong, or could stand his ground he always back down to everyone even a small pup insulting him he’d back away, like if he was weaker, He wanted most for his father to be proud of him, and not a runt as he was. He rather be a loner then have his father see what he really was, a loser from his point.
Pete looked at Cronos and smiled, all you need is some help slow poke. He, he, he, I’m going to love this.
Cronos still looked at the box, Pete turned his head to, “Hey Cronos long tail?” Cronos looked at him annoyed.
Pete paused as if picking something in his mind; “I have a story for you.”
Cronos instantly jumped away and started running away, “NO never!”
Pete shrugged and gave a minute head start, “Can he go any slower at all? My gosh…” Pete started to run. It didn’t take him long to catch up to Cronos, “You can run well a good style too, this can come in handy one it shows a female your strong and go the distances and to females it also shows that-” The story took all day and tips to Cronos from Pete as Cronos ran as hard as he could to get away from his ‘female and male stories.’ He finely managed to find his fence and go under and into his yard.
Cronos panted harder then he could ever recall it was night around seven at night to his clock, of his own body. Cronos couldn’t catch his breath, “Hey where have you been?” Balto asked already at the yard with Jenna and Cinder.
Cronos could only answer with his heavy panting, “I…I… have been.” Cronos was about to say running for dear life and Pete but didn’t want his parents to worry, “Was running the markers the mile ones that’s all dad, I got lost, and here I am.”
Cinder laughed, “How can you get lost?” Cinder rolled onto his back in laughter.
“Well I’m not that good of keeping track of where I run.” Cronos said panting like an idiot.
“Then you just need to learn.” Balto unlighted, “I could help you.” He suggested.
Cronos froze for a moment, Cinder noticed this an quickly resounded for his brother, “He doesn’t really want to go that hard now his only young like me not even I want that give it rest, but I’ll for wrestle learning.” Cinder suggested.
Jenna shook her head, “Why don’t let him answer Cin your not the boss of your brother.” She said trying for once for Cronos to answer his father when he asked a question about hanging out with him, he always froze up and Cinder would do the answer for him.
Cronos panting answered, “It’s alright mom I couldn’t have said it better myself, expect I don’t want to learn how to wrestle.”
“Ok but tell me when want to and I’ll come right over.” Balto used his paw to shake off the snow on Cronos head he laughed as he did it, “cute guy.” He looked over to Jenna, “Wouldn’t you say he’s handsome?”
She smiled with a small laugh; “You might have better looks then your father.”
He turned to face her with surprise, “What? What do you mean by that? I have the best looks.”
Jenna giggled girlishly, “You mean you have to be the best in everything in my eyes better looks and all?”
He cocked his head, “I thought I was…” He smiled at her.
“Then I guess one of these nights you will have to prove it to me then.” She girlishly spoke to Balto.
“Alright I will.” He said laughing as he said it to her. “I will.”
Cronos thought of Pete’s story it made him feel sick, “I think I’ll just go to bed I’m tired of running and I want to sleep.”
“You always want to sleep ‘I want to sleep, I want to sleep.’” Cinder said annoyed by it.
“Cinder.” She said strictly, “Let your brother sleep.” Cinder rolled his eyes to the top of his head and shook it back and forth, annoyed at life.
“Why Cinder you don’t like sleeping do you, I don’t think you ever have.” Balto said with a laugh.
“Nope! I’ll never will either.” Cinder laughed with pride.
Jenna groaned, “He does with a passion I’ll tell…you that’s why I NEED you around Balto.”
Balto laughed, “You can do just fine with out me, I’m sure theirs nothing you can’t do.”
She shook her head, “Uh huh no way! Not anymore at least, not with Cinder.”
“I’m Victorious!” Cinder shouted loudly with pride, “I can not sleep tonight.”
“Not really I’m here this time Cinder.” Balto explained to Cinder while giving Jenna a wink, she sighed and smiled at the wink.
Cronos awoke in the morning no else was awake yet so he went outside. He looked around seeing the fence, and sighing at it. He heard Rosé’s dad talking with another man but didn’t really care Rosé seemed mad at something but he was still half dead and didn’t pay attention. “I hate mornings. I’m always tired in the morning.”
He heard Rosé’s screaming about something and didn’t care, “Heh she is so loud sometimes.” He walked to the fence and smiled, “Now how does dad balance on this?” He asked himself, “He’d say ‘Practice.’” He became lost in a daydream when he felt something click on his collar.
He turned to the thing that held his neck. “What?” There was a man with a chain leash holding him, He panicked and jolted in a direction away from the man, the man pulled on the chain. He felt himself choke and go to the man. He coughed, and went to the man to loosen the grip and run away again but the same thing happened.
Total fear gripped him, why was he holding him like this why does he have a chain on him?! He did what he instinct told him to do, he started to bark, and scream, “MOM! MOM! DAD!! CINDER!!!” He screamed and barked rapidly with terror, trying to wake them up to help him. “MOM! CINDER! DAD!” He continually tried to pull away. “HELP! PLEASE HELP! DAD!”
Jenna awoke with a jolt to run outside, which she did, but Rosé’s dad held her. Cinder was right behind Jenna and darted past her to Cronos and the man.
Cinder growled and barked at the man having Cronos behind him. “Get away!” He screamed at the man, snapping the air between him and the man. Rosé’s mother pulled Cinder away with a leash she put on him. Cinder tried his best to break free but in vain.
The man suddenly jumped on top of Cronos pinning him to the ground. He whimpered in pain and no longer tried to get away. The man grabbed his legs and lifted him up, he could only whimper as he did so. “Sorry for the trouble.” The man said to Rosé’s father, “I’m just doing my job.” He walked though Rosé’s house a rather big sled with a metal cage he put Cronos in it and locked it with a lock. Cronos used his paw to try open the door into the cage he tried again, and again with more hast. He whimpered thinking it was getting worse, he started barking again.
Jenna was able to watch the horrific sight with Cinder from inside, She knew that they where giving him away, Cinder didn’t as he barked at the man.
“Stop it! STOP IT! That’s my brother! He lives here not with you LET HIM GO!!!” He screamed over and over.
Jenna choked on tears, she didn’t think they’d give him away after having him for so long she had him for so long, it was her Cronos, or as Rosé’ called him ‘Balto jr.’ it was her pup hers, they can’t take him, but they are. She whimpered as he saw the man with the sled go off, Cronos looked at them in silence, confused and scared as he faded away from their sight.
Cronos whimpered in cold bars that lay around and under him, he was so confused why all the sudden were was he going? Why didn’t mom help him, why did they hold her back she was trying to save me, did they want me to go? “It is that…” He started to cry, “It’s for the best…I’m too weak anyway dad doesn’t want me mom didn’t Cinder I’m only a burden, to everyone I am a burden!”
“Quiet wolf!” The man said annoyed by all the whimpering. “Gosh you weak but I’ll change that soon enough.” The man smiled, he shouted at his large sled team of dogs.
Cronos backed away as far as he could against the walls of the cage he jerk forward touching the cold bars, he whimpered. He moved to the middle were he was where it was warmer bars from standing there before. “Dad…I didn’t say goodbye or saw you, I just wanted look at you one last time…” Cronos cried in tears.
Cronos heard some of the dogs laughing at him, “Some wolf misses mommy and daddy! Did they get shot?!” He put his paws over his eyes as he cried, he just couldn’t take it, he needed his parents he needed Cinder, but he didn’t have them this time, he had no one to go to. Why does everyone who is wolf treated like this I’m only part wolf…why?! Will anyone help me? Why doesn’t anyone? He cried as the time went on remembering the times he had with his family, it was just to fast for he just left without a second thought.
he fell asleep with out being tired, he cried himself too sleep. He awoke when the cage was slide off to the snow covered ground.
The man yanked the chain that was still on Cronos, and pulled him to a shake and pushed him in and tied the chain on a metal rod. And threw a rock at him, which hit his head. Cronos yelped and back away till the chain stopped him. He whimpered as he tried to break free.
“Keep trying wolf, when I’m done with you, you will be my prize wolf getting me lots of cash. Man that was easy getting you just act pro and there you have it, wolf owners what losers.” The man smiled and left.
Cronos looked around in the dark room, he took a few sniffs around, and he was the only one in the room. It scared him; he didn’t like being alone in a dark place he was still afraid of the dark, or rather his thoughts of what was in the dark.
“Help?” He asked the air, he looked around he barely could see anything around him, he didn’t like it at, he made a slight growl.
“I want out!” He yanked over and over trying to get out of the chain. He bit the chain he came to his senses what would be the point of escaping? I couldn’t go anywhere I’m in a new place… “I’m lost and want out and it’s cold…I can’t have mom, Cinder…or dad to help me, I’m really alone now…”
He looked though the glass window, he felt trapped he didn’t like it at all. Cronos growled again. He was next to the door. Can he hear me? The man thought to him self. He heard another yank with chain moving and going to a stop. I’ve never seen someone so wanting out so quickly. He heard repeated yelps as the chain choked Cronos as he continually tried to get free. The man walked away.
After several hours he found it useless his neck burned with a passion and felt he had been choked for a while, he took a few breaths, “I need to escape.”
He thought about himself, “I’m wolf right? So what would a wolf do?” He stayed in his mind in thinking for about for five minutes. He opened his eyes and started to bite the chain as hard as he could, it didn’t seem to have an affect on it.
Cronos tried again, biting the chin to his side harder, “Come on!” He yelled in frustration. He came closer to the post he was tied to, so he could get a better place to bite the chain to his fullest. Cronos slight raised his head as he bit down as hard as he could on the chain. He stopped and backed away it hurt his teeth.
He whimpered, “I can’t, but…Cinder, mom and dad…there not here, I have get out on my own they won’t help me this time.” He had a tear fall as his thoughts told him seeing them was hopeless.
He mustered all the strength he had left; he raised his head high as he used all his strength to bite the chain. “Krank!” the chain broke, he growled in pain, he was angry that he was taken away he hated it, it always was him, why no one else. He slowly opened his mouth letting the chain fall to the floor making a noise as it hit the ground.
He sighed, “Now what?” He asked panting, he looked around he couldn’t see anything just some light from the window in the room, which looked old. There was no other light in the room. He looked down hopelessly, “How can I get out?”
Cronos looked at the window, he growled, thinking only being wolf as some wild beast, he swore at himself. He took a few steps over things in the shed. Cronos roared as he jumped thought he used all the strength he could get himself to do towards the window.
He easily broke thought the old weak window, but it was still glass. He landed in something rather cold and soft, like powder. He being busy with the jump tripped when he hit the ground hurting his paw, and landed on his right shoulder he almost flipped over himself, but only half way.
He groaned in pain a piece of glass was in his paw, it really hurt to move it, He whimpered his wished his mother was here somehow make it all better, but she wasn’t. He got his other paw just to touch it.
It was a stabbing burning stab when he touched it he yelped and moved his paw away in the pain; he started crying it really hurt him.
He looked fearfully at the piece of glass in a terrified look of fear. Cronos started to shake; Cronos suddenly genteelly pulled the piece of glass out quickly and threw it to the side, very quickly. “ARHLUGA!” Cronos cried in pain. Cronos stayed still shaking in pain, though it was out it almost hurt more now then with the piece of glass in his paw. He licked his wound in tears wishing someone would help him.
He got up and took agonizing steps away from the shed, he needed to get away from it and stay hidden and find out where he was.
Balto rested his head against his boat, with frustration and tears. Boris scratched his head, trying to think of something to say to him. How to say vhat? Your son is gone? Boris thought hard trying to think of something easier to say, to him.
“He’s gone…he’s gone…” Balto said with tears, Boris took a glance at him, still unable to think of anything. “I should have just stayed, why didn’t I stay? It’s my fault…”
“Balto…it’s not your fault it was just how it turned out, I bet Cronos has good owners.” Boris said trying to comfort him.
“Yeah?” Balto joked rudely “In a metal cage with a chain? Dragged out of the yard then house on a sled pushed in? They might have already killed him.” He said rudely.
“That’s not true and you don’t know.” Boris said calmly.
“Really, since when did you become the master of how people treat wolves or wolf-looking dogs?” He said pushing Boris down to the ground. “I’m sorry.” He said moving his head constantly like he was nervous; “I didn’t know a Russian goose know more about wolf-dogs then a wolf-dog himself.” Boris frowned; he didn’t like Balto when he did this. “Sorry I’m too violent and should be shot like a wolf for being part wolf.”
Boris got to his feet, “Your acting like being part wolf is a burden.” He said calmly.
“Well at times just, maybe it can.” Balto said rudely, “Ever think of that?!” He shouted at the end.
Boris shook his head, “Yes I have.” He said angrily at him, “I will help you get out of this mistreatment.”
He shook his head, “Why can’t you just accept I’m a social failure, I don’t like going to town much, in fact I don’t, well when there’s a race it’s ok, but.” He shook his head, “I’m going for a walk.”
Boris staggered, “Vait where are you going? To town?”
Balto looked at him “coldly why would I go there? I’m for the forest right now, is that a problem thought so.” He started running off, with out waiting for his replay.
Cronos.
Cronos sighed he didn’t sleep at all last night, he found a town and all around looking for anyone who would recognize him. He didn’t find any as he looked he was lost.
He sighed again, he didn’t know what to do, “how I’m I going to get home?” he stared at the white sky, he watched the clouds move, he still didn’t really fully understand snow.
He was hungry, very hungry, he didn’t eat, since he was taken, or drank anything. Cronos wondered of how he would get home.
“Well I think I know,” a voice said to Cronos. He felt a Shriver go down his spine. He forced himself to turn to who claimed knew the way back. “Well hi.” It was Pete.
“How’d you get here? Why are you here?” Cronos asked confused about how Pete was there? He was confused.
Pete laughed, “HA! You don’t pay much attention I was on that sled team he borrowed my team.” Pete smiled with his teeth, which were perfect, Cronos swore in the day light would see that little light star thingy. “Now how to get home…”
“Don’t you have a team to worry about?” Cronos said he dreaded the thought of having HIM, on the way home.
Pete smirked, “Nah I was lying anyway.” Pete shrugged.
“WHAT?!” He shouted, “Then how’d you get here then!”
“It’s where I live or lived rather…I lived in many places I got a photo memory, you know. This is near Salmon Lake.”
“Uh…I remember…” Cronos said dreadfully. He did not like him at all, he wished anyone but him would help him.
“You a turned on guy, even when you where small very small you knew.” Pete smiled like it was something to be proud of.
“What are talking about I only know because my paw was stuck and you told me!” Cronos shout back.
“Well everyone else at older then you at the time had no idea what I was talking about you knew so.” Cronos cut off Pete.
“SHUT UP! Shut up! I don’t know why I knew what you were talking about I just knew! Ok?! I don’t see life that way! I just want to go home!!” He shouted out.
Pete paused, “Ok you don’t need to yell about it though, it’s all in a day work.” He started to walk away. He didn’t follow, Pete turned to him with his head, “Come on you idiot.” Pete said coldly.
“Fine…” Cronos said softly he didn’t want to go to him but he had no choice, but to trust him, it could lead him home.
Pete led him out of town though it took a long time, he seemed cold, Pete turned coldly, he smiled, “You don’t talk!” He turned to him, “I don’t like quiet, fine I’ll talk.”
Cronos shook his head, “Now where is MY home.” He said just wanting not to be around Pete.
“Rude, well just follow me, I know the way home.” he said, Pete started to walk Cronos followed; they didn’t make eye contact or anything of the sort. Cronos just looked forward.
It had been an hour before Pete finely broke the long quiet, “Well…I’ll tell you a story.” He said with a smirk, “If you run you will be lost and you can be lost for a long time too.”
“Fine I’ll listen, gosh.” Cronos said annoyed, “Can we run?”
“We will now…” Pete paused trying to get memory going, “Ah yes this one works, well I was hanging out in my place when a pretty dog came by, she was my breed not so pure but fairly pure from what I could see.” Cronos rolled his eyes, with his skills with females he will get beat up. Pete continued, “She was kind of little nervous to be around me and all, but she came up anyway though, that counts when a girl comes up to talk to you show more respect, to the, the story.” Cronos shook his head, He told me that because he didn’t and failed ha, ha! “Well he got talking about our lives, I asked her for hers first, and then she asked about mine, I didn’t talk that much, we both got bored and didn’t really know what to do.” Cronos’s eyes widened as he went on. “An then we well let tell you how it was like, she had fine legs by the way.” Cronos slightly whimpered at it.
A white paw slammed on the head on wolf, “Let that be lesson.” The wolf under the white wolf was dead, bitten at the throat, four wolves were around the dead wolf, they where also dead. The white wolf was slightly bloody, but he knew how to fight with not getting much blood on himself and the snow took most of it. “I can’t believe they called this a betas and an alpha. “It’s pitiful.” The white wolf said aloud.
The white wolf step way from the dead wolves bodies and wondered on, his eyes caught a black wolf with red eyes following him with some others with him. The white wolf stopped, “You want something with me?”
The black wolf came into view, “I’m just a passing by, my name is Blood Wraith, and I have a favor to ask of you.” The white wolf didn’t do anything. Blood Shadow went on, “It’s about something I need taken care of Balto is some what in it.” The white wolf looked at him as somewhat shock, “Balto?” the white wolf said, Blood Shadow smiled.
Two days passed, Cronos act 3.
“How many dirty stories do you have!!” Cronos demanded to know, “Or you make them up?”
Pete “No I don’t make them up no.” Pete said proudly, “I’m just good with females.” Pete smiled. Cronos hit him in the head.
“I don’t like you.” He said firmly, “I don’t think you show proper respect to females. How many females you have done with…you didn’t stay just had your way! And left and in your stories how you want to be a consular, to help relationships out when you never had one! So how can you be one!? And were lost!”
Pete paused for a long time, “Just drop it then…I was one before so you know, I fixed a lot of things with mates having trouble from cheating, to attacking each other to many things…I’m not just that pervert I hope you see that one day.”
That caught him off guard. Pete started walking in a way, not talking at all, he felt terrible, for what he said, “Pete I’m sorry.”
Pete turned to him, “Well about me that’s not my real name.” Pete weakly smiled, “My name doesn’t matter, now lets go home.” He turned and bumped into a wolf, Pete responded to the wolf “Hello.”
