For many moons

you and I have fought one another.

You have the advantage with your intelligence and weapons.

What am I to do?

How is it that you take my cousins into your hearts and homes

and can kill me and my kind with ease.

We are not that different.

I feel pain when losing a loved one and mourn them gone.

I celebrate at the new birth of the young.

We share so much more than these things yet why the cold indifference?

We aren't stranger's, our path's have crossed before.

In your earliest times we provided protection and you provided warmth.

We helped you hunt and enjoyed the benefits of it with you.

In all the time we shared has this meant nothing.

The memories are still there underneath.

All you have to do is see them.

But for now the cycle will continue.

Endless violence and the lives of my kindred lost to your ignorance.

Think and act before your forests no longer sound with our voices.
