A female dog layed on A soft bed with A thinking expression on her face.

Her name was Nera. She was A husky who's coat was an unusual sky blue and her bottom coat was clear white. She had violet eyes and wore A silver collar.

While she was thinking,her owner,Haret,came in. "Come on,Nera! It's time for breakfast." He said as he gestured for her to follow him. She obeyed him and dashed out of the room.

While she was eating,Nera couldn't help,but think. "Is there more to this life? Is there A meaning that I must find? More importantly,why do I even think these thoughts? I was feeling normal 3 months ago. Why do I question this now?"

After breakfast,she went for her morning stroll like she did every morning. "I usually take these walks to get my mind off of thinking,but it just dosen't help." She thought.

"Good morning,Nera!" Said A voice.

She looked up. "Oh. Hi,Balto!"

Nera is A friend of Kodi's,so both of them know each other pretty well.

"So,how've things been?" He asked.  "Same old things. I don't why this is happening." She answered.

Nera has told Balto her situation before and he's the one who suggested taking morning walks to relieve her thinking.

"Well.why do you think your having these thoughts?"

"That's what i've been trying to figure out,but I still have no clue! I...."

Suddenly, A black and white dog came out of nowhere before she could finish.

"Surprised to see me?" The dog said evilly.

"Steele!" Balto growled as the two began to circle each other.

"Who's this guy?" Nera asked.  "Steele. The dog I told you about that tried to stop me from delivering the medicine." He elaborated.

"So who's this?" Steele asked him as he stared at Nera in A somewhat angry expression.

"Her name's Nera. And I don't want you going anywhere near her!!"

"Oh,really?" Steele stepped closer to her.

"I'm warning you!" Balto tensed.

Nera backed up A little,afraid of what he might do to her.  "Don't be afraid. I'm not going to hurt you." The look on Steele's face said otherwise.

"STEEEELE!!" Balto was about to attack,but before he could his chance,another dog beat him to the punch.

"What the heck?!" Steele said as he was pinned to the ground.

"Don't you know it's rude to make A girl feel scared?" The dog said.

Steele pushed him off. "Oh,please! What would you know?"

"A lot more than an ugly mutt like you!!"

Steele snarled and attacked. Both of them were scratching and biting each other non-stop,trying to outdo one another.

Balto broke into the fight and pulled them apart. "Stop it,you two!!"

"You haven't seen the last me,you cur!!" Steele said to the dog, He fled towards the north.

"Are you alright?" Nera asked as she saw the wounds on the dog's body.

"Don't worry. I'm fine."

"That was quite A fight you put up." Balto said.

"I've had some experience." He said.

"What's your name?" Nera asked.

"Race." He smiled. "And you are?"

"I'm Nera. Nice to meet you."

"So,Race,thanks for helping out back there." Balto said.

"No prob." He heard A bark from the near distance. "Gotta go. My team's waiting for me." Race dashed away like lightning bolt.

"I see he lives up to his name." Balto joked.

"Yeah." Nera said in A dream-like state.

"You okay?" He asked.

She snapped back. "Y-yeah. I'm okay."

After that unexpected surprise,Nera said good-bye to Balto and continued her walk. "It's strange,but somehow,i've forgotten what I was so worried about. Could it have been the shock of the fight that made me forget? Or was it something else?"

Suddenly,she bumped into someone without looking where she was going. "I'm sorry!"

"It's okay." The dog said. Nera looked up to see it was Race. "Hey,Nera!"

"Hi." Nera looked around to see some other dogs leashed to A sled. "So this is your sled team?"

"Yep." Race nodded. "We're about to do A practice run for the upcoming race."

"Race?" She asked.

"Yeah?"

"Oh,i'm sorry. I'm questioning about the race you were competing in."

Both of them laughed.

"There's another team coming to Nome and we're going to race for the win!"

"Sounds exciting."

"It is."

Race noticed A human approaching. "We're about to start. Talk to ya' later!"

Race rushed over and the human leashed him to the sled.  Nera went to the side of the racing path to observe.

"Mush!" The human said. As soon as they heard it,all of the dogs ran as fast they could.

Out of all the dogs,Race ran the fastest. He was like A bullet that couldn't be stopped.

"Wow!" Nera said in amazement as her eyes widened.

After 5 long laps,practice was over.

Nera ran t Race. You were incredible! I've never seen A dog run that fast! You're really something!!"

Race blushed. "Thanks."

Nera thought for A moment. "Um.......hey listen. If you're not......... doing anything later,do you wanna......take A walk on the beach?"

"I'd love to." Race smiled.

"Cool. I'll meet at crack of dawn!"

"I'll be there."
