Christmas Day- Death of a Maiden

By KellyClarksonGirl

Prologue

Jenna danced nervously, she was very excited of Steele's arrival. Her heart yearned for him when they had banished him from Nome. Balto in his boat would not be coming to see.

She saw him step out of the car and she walked up to him. "Hey, Steele, whats up?" Steele loked at Jenna then swept her off her feet.He looked earstly into her eyes than spoke," I have waited for you my love..."
"So have I" Jenna said dreamily. Steele set her down and they walked to a bakery to eat.

Balto knew that Steele was coming, but he didn't have any idea what was happining. He smelled Jenna scent, and followed after her in pursuit. Balto saw Steele and a furry red creature next to him...

Jenna was enjoying herself. For the first time in her life she felt as free as the wind.

Steele had taken her heart in a flash. Her thoughts were only to him. She was faithful to his devious heart.

Jenna thought back to their childhood. When she was new to the town. Jenna remembered the disgrace she was in. Only Steele seemed to comnfort her. They had luxurious walks together, and had many talks, soon Jenna fell in love with Steele.
When Balto came along, Steele had asked her to keep an eye on him, become mates with him if necessary. He said he wanted to know more about Balto.
When Steele quit dog sled racing for good, he went to reside in Ancorage.
Ever since then Jenna had blissfully missed Steele.

Jenna had had pups with Balto under Steele's approval. She had enjoyed the pups, but she had loved Steele. Jenna's love for him was like an everlasting flame, that never died.

Jenna snapped back to reality, and spoke," Steele,I, I , want to ask you something..."
"Anything for my love," Steele replied.
"I wish, I wish to become mates," Jenna said dreamily.
Steele said nothing, but Jenna slipped under him on her back. She laughed, and stared dreamily at him.
Jenna heard a dog apporching, but didn't have anytime to tell Steele.
Balto stared at the couple, at first, he didn't recognize the husky Steele was with, then he realized.
"Jenna, how could you?" he coughed out, heart broken.
Jenna looked at him pleadingly...

"Balto?" a voice asked from the darkness.

Balto whipped around, the cold air flew into his face.

A red husky, more beautiful then Jenna herself. Drifted torward him.

Balto was at loss for words, "It can't be." he said, "Dream? Is it really you?" he asked.

The figure nodded a yes, the spoke in her dreamy voice,"Balto, I have been waiting for you. Come, you must leave."

Balto took a step back, than felt a tinge of disrespect. He had loved Jenna forever. What if he left her to Steele?

Wityh the wind blowing fiercly in his face, Balto howled. His howl awakened many dogs. It was a sorrowful one, one that meant,' I have to leave, but I'll come back for you some day.'

The wind swirled around Balto, and the trees bowed.

A staircase appeared, and  Balto climbed up he glowing staircase. He stopped on the fifth step and said,"I'll save you Jenna. I'll get you. Someday." As soon as he was finished, the staircase disappered and the sky remained its black\blue color.

"Look! "Jenna cried,"Balto's body is gone!"

Steele looked solemn for a moment than took a stone and carved an inscription:

Here died Balto, the hero of Nome. His memory shall be in or hearts forever.

Than he finished up by inscribing the last three words,'Endurance, Fidelity, Intelligence.'

Jenna wept bitterly into Steele's shoulder, as the wind blew fiercely around them.

There was nothing they could do.

A few weeks went by, and Jenna became pregnant with Steele's pups.

Her belly was bigger than ever, and her temperment changed within the last few weeks.

Jenna became more outgoing. She liked walking to paties and flirting with other dogs. She became braver than ever. Jenna had to, Steele said she had too many  fears.

And so came to pass the week when the pups came, Jenna layed down in her bed all that week. Steele was always beside her, bringing her food. Doing errands, etc.

Then it was the day.

It was at night, the wind was very calm that night. So all could hear Steele's bark that meant the pups were coming.

Four pups were soon by Jenna's side. Making little noises.

Jenna looked proud, but tired. Steele look triumphant, and noble.

There were 2 red pups, and 1 black pup. The last one, was an eerrie white color.

Steele did not notitice this at first, for he was proud that he had such wonderful pups.

But as the days went by, he despised that white pup, for she had no quality. None that is for showing.

The pups grew in size and shape for the next eight weeks. And soon were bought by good owners. All but the white pup. By now, the pups called her Blizzard, she looked like she was just in one.

Anyway, the pups moved out. Jenna was happy, but sad indeed. What about Blizzard?

Blizzard developed into a beautiful dog. Her size and shape was just like Jenna's. But her coat made her looked like a pathetic wolf-dog.

And so Christmas Eve came.

Steele was very hot tempered that Christmas Eve night. His thoughts became so clouded, that when Jenna asked what was wrong, he gave her the meanest look ever.

Jenna looked frightened after he snarled at her. She backed away, but it was too late.

Steele lunged at Jenna, his teeth grazed her fur.

Jenna was taken over by something she never knew she had. A wolf. The wolf inside her was awakened. Her apperance changed in many ways.

Her paws became bigger then Balto's were. Her body became bigger, more muscle, and her fur became more dense. Her eyes turned green. Then her head had a longer snout. Her eye shape changed. Jenna's teeth became sharper. Then, Jenna watched her bandanna get tighter and tighter on her body. and then, he bandanna snapped. The bandanna broke into tiny pieces.

Jenna bared her teeth, growling loudly.

To Steele, this change was unexpected, but his rage kept him going.

He locked unto Jenna's right backleg and stayed there.

Jenna wheeled around and her teeth sunk into Steele's throat.

Steele died in nearly 5 seconds.

Jenna dropped him, she staggered to the door, then fell.

Her eyes closed, and she took her last breath, as she collasped on the cold hard ground.

Blizzard came afew hours later and buryed the bodies.

She vowed that one day, she would kill all the evil in the world.

But just not yet.
