CH.15 Please Don't Fade

   I pondered as I paced in my room. When I looked into the mirror I saw somthing about me that has changed.I looked much older than I had before. My rounded childish chin straightened out to be more adult, all of my looks seemed to make me look more like a 17 or 18 year old than a 15 year old! I took a good long look & noticed that there were still notices of my old features; the long black hair, the stone green eyes, & the golden tan tone of my skin. Only a few things happened to be still there,Even the scar on my stomach from something at birth.

   My father came in & smiled. "You have the werewolf growth, I see," he said. "I thought that was only in that book....what was it called again? Twilight series?" I said leaning over the dresser. He laughed,"My boy, some humans know about us & most of them don't. There are a few things that will happen; you will grow to your full height, get higher tempature, & maybe get imprinted." I didn't like the sound of "imprinting" being true. Imprinting being forced to love someone that sometimes you never even met or become great friends with but then like them more.

   He smiled "Well I guess I will leave you to your thinking. But try not to do anything that will cause you pain in the next month," He said as he walked out of my room. I sighed & sat on my bed. Why? Why me of all people become a werewolf prince & have to rule soon or something? There was a small tapping on my door. I called out,"come in, its open." My mother walked in. She was truely beautiful with her long black hair & gental face. Today she seemed to wear a silk dress. "Hello Ashton. What did you think about the Dance last night?" she asked walking infrount of me.

   "It was great," I smiled trying to keep the conversation short. Somehow we weren't as close as Father & I are. "Well thats nice. Okami wanted to see if you wanted to go on a short hunt with her," she said to me. I grinned "Sure! I'd love to!" I said getting up.She laughed a bit & smiled walking off.

   I met up with Okami outside & we ran off into the woods turning into our wolf forms. "So...-," I tried to come up with a little conversation with her but she "shh"ed me. "You need to be quiet on a hunt," she whispered to me & then she pounced on a rabbit & broke its neck so it wouldn't get away.I nodded watching her. A fox then appeared out from a bush. "Heeeeeeeey!I was going to eat that!" it said. It sounded like a girl, a vixen?

   Okami grinned,"Sorry Diana. you have to be quick to get a bite around here." I sat down watching them. "Oh! Ash this is Diana O'Reily. Diana, this is prince Ashton Freeman," she introdused us. We nodded at one another. "Well this fox is off for more hunting, see ya Okami," she smiled at her running off.Okami smiled & me & ran off about north. I frowned & chaced after her. Then came a clearing, it was a meadow by the looks of it. Lush green grass & velvet flowers that was oh so beautiful. I felt like I was taken away from my body & sore to the heaven's garden.

   I could see her, my heart & soul. Was this how Edger Allen Poe felt with the poem My Annabelle Lee? How could a man of such a horrorble life & painful 40 years, write such beautiful things in the most horrorble & heart breaking way?I tackled Okami to the ground & smiled at her. She licked my face  & struggled her way out from under me to run off. I layed in the tall grass smirking & waited there til she got close enough to pounce on.I could see that she was confused & turned into her human form walking around trying to find her black wolf. Then I tackled her turning human too "If there is one thing I could ever wish for you want to know what it may be?" I asked her smiling. SHe laughed laying there on the ground,"What?"

   "For you to never faid away from me," I said to her. She smiled & held me in an embrace to her. "Oh Ash. Your so sweet & kind hearted. Why did I act so mean to you in the begining?" she asked. "You did?" I said confused. If she did then I didn't remember anything that she did offencive to me. She laughed at my puzzled look,"Your so cute acting too." I kissed her quickly on the lips & got up."Well how bout we go home? I'm getting a bit too hungry to hang out here," I said. She stood up,"well I could roast this rabbit on the fire if you want me to.We can just eat out here & hang out for a lil while"

   I nodded thinking about the good idea of Okami's suggestion.Not too long later it became dark & we were resting on the ground by the fire with full stomachs & warm hearts."You are a really great chef, you know that?" I looked at her. She smiled,"being a knights child, you need to learn to do a lot of things before you go out on missions or anything." I yawned,"Man its getting late." Before I knew it, a blanket was throughn on my shoulders along with a pair of loving arms. I smiled & pulled her into my lap. She rested her head on my shoulder & I hummed her a small lulliby.
