It was dawn. She was sitting up on a rock, watching the sun rise. She was oh, so beautiful that morning, the sun glared off her blue eyes. If only wish I could find the right time to ask her, and it was now.
"Jordan?" I called, "Jordan.. I- Uh," She looked back at me, with sad look in her eyes.. "Oh, Hey Sam..." I leaped up on the rock and sat down next to her. "Somthin' wrong, Sweetie?" She turned her head to look at me. She blushed. "Sam, Do you think Aleu will still consider me as a friend?" She asked.
"Yeah, Why wouldn't she?" I smiled as she turned away to hide her shy little grin she always does.
"Well, After I left, I was afraid that Niju would force her into things she didn't want to do. I'm afraid that the Aleu I used to know is gone.."
"Jordan, You know that you were best friends, How could she change just beacause of Niju?"
She stopped talking and licked my cheek. I turned bright red and did the same back to her. She giggled and I said, "What, Does my breath smell?" She laughed harder. I shook my head, smiling. "You're really funny, You know that?" She said. "Yeah, I kinda figured. You're laughing really hard." She nuzzled me and put her paw right next to mine then layed down. She fell asleep, and I sang to her quietly.

Aleu had woken up very early that morning, before dawn in fact. Her and the three pack members were staying at Balto's abandond ship. She had left without Balto and the pack knowing. She wanted to catch up with her mother. She hadn't really gotten to know her when she was a pup. Aleu was only with her for the first few weeks of life, now she was all grown up.
Jenna, on the other hand, was still asleep. She wasn't expecting a random scratch on the window at 5 AM. She nosed the window open. "Aleu?! I thought I heard you were back in town!" Jenna exclaimed. Aleu climbed through the window. "Well, You heard right. Mother." Aleu smiled.
"Look at you! All grown up! You're so much like your father, Aleu." Jenna was very proud of her daughter, growing up big and strong. She knew she would have pups that would lead sled dog teams, but never a wolf pack. Aleu turned around, smiling. "Yes mother, and tonight, I want you to meet some of my pack members. I brought three along." Jenna nodded, even though she really didn't want to meet a bunch of full blood wolves.
Balto and Kodi were out the next morning with Aleu's pack plotting everything out for Steele's return. Kodi led them on the paths out of town, he had mastered every twist and turn on them from running the mail so often. "I tell ya, Balto, this Steele guy sounds pretty mean." Yak said, trying to sound smart. "He is. Nasty and mean, Yak, nasty and mean." Kodi said, as he sniffed the ground. Balto nodded. "All he wanted was the fame and of course the ladies," He stated. "He didn't care about all those poor, sick children. One of them was your mother's master, Rosie, Kodi." He looked up Kodi.
Kodi sighed. "This is going to be harder than I thought."
"What is it, Kodi?" Balto asked.
"The snow. Its waaayy to deep, Dad." Kodi walked a few more steps then he leaped into the snow to show how deep it really was. Balto sighed. "Well son, go get your mail pals, and We all need to strengthen up." He helped Kodi up out of the snow. "Go, Now." Balto commanded. Kodi nodded and took aoo as fast as he could through the snow, almost up to his shoulders. Balto watched his son and made sure he made it back to town. Then he turned to the other three.
"Sumac, Nuk, Yak, This is going to be harder than it looks. Steele will be here in about two weeks! We don't have much time!" Sumac wasn't paying attention, he was busy scratching his ear. "Sumac!" Balto barked, "Pay Attention!" Sumac jumped a little and pinned his ears. "S-Sor-Sorry." He said, listening now. "Ok boys, Once Kodi gets back, you and the dogs NEED to get along, Do you understand?" The three wolves nodded. "Ok, Well we can relax for a while 'till Kodi gets back, Okay?" Nuk took what Balto said seriously. He rolled over on his back and stretched his legs out.
Kodi was running, He didn't know how fast, but he just kept running. He finnally reached Dusty's house. It was still a little early, but Dusty was already out on the porch, sleeping. "Dusty," He whispered as he nudged her slightly. "Dusty, Wake up." He said a little louder this time. Dusty awoke and yawned. "Kodi, What is it?" She stood up and streatched her legs. "We need to start preparing for when Steele come back to Nome." Kodi said. "Lets go, we need to get Kirby and Ralph." The two ran off.
Ralph and Kirby were in the boiler room with Carter, Jenna's brother. They were talking about the next mail run they would do. "Honestly, guys. I think I should be up front next time." Carter said, cockily. "I'm definitly faster than you two.". Kirby snickered. "Nah, I'm so faster than you!" Kirby bragged.
"Boys!" Dusty barked. "Lets go! We need your help!" Kirby, Ralph and Carter jumped up and ran out the door after Dusty and Kodi. Carter caught up to Kodi, and started chatting with him. "Hey Kodi, Haven't seen you in a while!!" Kodi nodded, "Yeah, Uncle Carter! I know!"
"How've you been, buddy?"
"I've been good, ya know, Stayin' in shape!"
"Yeah, Same here, really."
Jordan and I were making our way over to Balto, Nuk, Yak, and Sumac when we came across Kodi, Dusty, Kirby, Ralph and Carter, Jenna's brother. I turned to look at Jordan. "Is that Carter?" She nodded. "Yeah, Thats Carter alright!" She said, Running after them. I started to think after a while that Jordan was developing a little crush on Carter. He was a good looking dog, but Jordan is a wolf, and wolfdog puppies are hard to find homes for. Carter is that one dog in town were he is always so flirty and treats all the ladies special. Its cute and all, but if he wants to settle down with a mate and have pups, he better stop that behavior. And SOON.
Jordan walked up to Carter. "Hey, Cater! How are you?" She asked in her most cheerful voice. "I've been good, ya know, Living up in White Mountain for that time." Jordan nodded. It looked like she had completely forgotten about me, and Carter had stolen the spotlight. I don't hate him or anything, but he needs to understand that Jordan is mine. I've been in love with her ever since she came to Nome, and she did sjow signs that she did like me a little. I butted into their convorsation. "Hey, We should go find Balto, We need to get started on our plan." They nodded.
Next thing I knew, I saw Jenna and Aleu walking toward us. There were so many of us, Steele didn't stand a chance at all. Jordan, Me (Sam), Kodi, Kirby, Dusty, Ralph, Carter, Balto, Aleu, Jenna, Yak, Nuk, and Sumac were all included in the plan. We were finnally piecing everything together.
