Chapter one
A few months later after the rescue of Alura and the defeat of the Timber Gang. Solaris and Alura have been taking their relationship to the next level and have been growing closer and closer together.
Solaris - Wow, can you believe that we're actually together, like this?
Alura - I know what you mean. it's strange really now that you think about it, I alway's liked you as a friend, I never thought we would actually be dating one another.
Solaris -(grining)- Are you having second thoughts?
Alura -(shocked)- NO! of course not. why would you ask me that? you saved my life and any male who is willing to give his life for me definitely deserves a chance.
Solaris - well it's good to know you feel that way. your my best friend and a wonderful girlfriend. I love you, and there is nothing in this world that can take our love away.
Alura started to cry after hearing what Solaris had said. Solaris really did love Alura more than anything in this world. he risked his life just to save her from Sisqo and his gang although he thought he was just being a good friend she saw then that he was so much more than that.
Later on that day Alura's mother Tequila had come by because Alura was with Solaris at his owners house. Balto and Jenna were both with her followed by their eight week old pups. Jenna was so excited about her new litter so she decided to tell everyone.
Alura - Aww, Jenna their all so cute. what are their names?
Jenna - the bright crimson red here on my right is my daugter Scarlett.
Scarlett - How do you do miss, my name is sacrlett, may I ask what your name might be?
Alura - Wow jenna! she's so polite and proper.
Jenna - I know, it's strange isn't it.
Alura - Well not really, she gets that from you. anyway, hello there Scarlett my name is Alura.
Jenna - This one here on my left is named sahara. she is named for her two-toned brown coat.
Sahara - Hey wuts up, my name is Sahara and don't you forget it.
Solaris - I kinda like her.
Jenna - I figuered you would. she reminds me so much of you Solaris.
Balto - And these two wright here are Cobalt and Mannuel.
Mannuel - Buenos días señora, muy agradable conocerte
Alura - ( Surprised) - You speak spanish? Buenos Días Para Ti
Mannuel - Gracias.
Alura - De Nada, where did he learn all that Jenna?
Jenna - I taught them all sorts of lanuages at an early age. you'll never know who they will meet in the future and not everyone speaks english. so they will be able to speak any language their masters speak.
Solaris - (worried) - Hey, whats wrong ? why do you looks so sad little guy. we won't hurt you.
Balto - Oh, you mean Cobalt, yeah. he's the shy and quiet one. you won't have to worry about him to much. you however, better watch out for Sahara over here. she tends to get herself into trouble.
Cobie - ( speaking quietly) - But you can call me Cobie. it's very nice to meet all of you.
Tequila - Well I think they're all so cute.
Alura - I know, I can't wait til we have pups of our own, isn't that right Solaris
Solaris - (embarrassed) - Yeah sure, whatever you say.
Jenna - Now, now you two. there will be plenty of time for you two become parents.
Balto - Jenna's wright, your both way to young to be thinking about that at your age. besides, your not even married yet.
Alura - We're not that young, and besides I was just wondering what it would be like if i had my own pups one day, that's all. I am in no hurry to become a mother just yet.
Tequila - Well that's a good thing to hear.
Jenna and Balto both started to leave along with their pups. it was getting dark in the little town of Nome and the street lights were just about to come on.
So the happy family decided to say goodbye one last time before they left to put the pups to bed.
Chapter two
it's eight o'clock in the morning and the city of Nome is just filled with life. everyone is always busy at this time. shopping,working, kids playing with their pets, just about everything these people do they do in the morning.
The dogs themselves are pretty busy aswell. Alura had planned a morning lunch date with Solaris, but he hasn't shown up yet.
Alura - (thinking out-loud) - Where is he, it's been fifteen minuets and he isn't here yet.
Alura was just about ready to give up and forget about the lunch date she had planned. little did she know, Solaris was running as fast as he could to ger to her. he was running so fast he didn't even see her standing two feet away, then he slammed her to the ground trying stop.
Solaris - I am so sorry i'm late, are you alright?
Alura - (some what angry) Yes I am, no thanks to you. your late by the way. Where were you?
Solaris - Oh well, Balto and Jenna had asked me to babysit the pups for while. I asked them why but I didn't get an answer. they just left.
Alura - Well if thats the case, lets get started.
Solaris - What did you have in mind?
Alura - You'll see, it's a surprise.
Solaris - Oh come on alura, you know I hate surprises.
Alura - You'll love it I promise.
Alura and Solaris left the her owners house and started walking down the wet-damp street. they where heading towards the back of this fancy french restaurant. they were about fifty or sixty dogs waiting for them to show up.
Solaris and Alura had just made it time. all the dogs in the alley began screaming and cheering.
Solaris - (surprised) - What on earth is this, and what's going on here.
Alura - Don't tell me you forgot your own birthday.
Solaris - (tearing) All of this for me. this is just too much. how did you all come up with this idea.
Jenna - It was really all my doing. Alura had told me your birthday was coming up this week so i decided to set up a surprise party.
Balto - and Jenna told me to go tell everyone we knew. I started with silvia and dixie and the rest was taken care of. i figured if anyone was able to gather a croud it was them. they're known as the two best gossips in town.
Solaris - (crying) - Thank you, all of you. this is truly the best birthday i have ever had.
Alura - ( whispering) - Wait til you see what i have planned for you tonight.
Solaris - (whispering back) - I like the sound of that.
Everyone started givng their gifts and eating the best meal they have ever had. soon the party was breaking up and people started to leave. Balto, Jenna,Steele,Silvie,Dixie, Alura and solaris all stayed behind to clean up their mess after the party.
Alura had stuck to her word and gave Solaris the best gift a female could ever give to a man and a wonderful night for the both of them.
Chapter three
Solaris had spent the night at Alura's house. Atina's mother Apolla said it was alright for him to stay. Alura and Solaris were snuggled together by a warm fireplace centered in the leaving room. they both were simling quite happily. it seems they've enjoyed their one night together.
Alura - Well,did you enjoy your stay last night?
Solaris - (exhausted)- Yeah, you were amazing.
Alura -(aroused)- Yeah, so were you. you want to stay a little longer for part two.
Solaris -Well, I gotta go, my boy's probably worried about me. he's been having some problems with his family. i'll see you later on okay.
Alura - Yeah I guess that'll be okay.
Solaris - What do you mean?
Alura - (a little upset) - Oh nothing, I just wanted to spend more time with you. your my boyfriend and I hardly ever get to see you. your always busy.
Solaris - I know and, I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you I promise.
Alura - You know what, last night was really the only real time we've actually spent alone.
Solaris - I know, it was great. I'll see you later on today,okay.
Alura -Yeah , Okay.
Solaris left walikng through the medium sized doggy. Alura just sat there laying in the living room by the fireplace. Atina was in her bedroom doing her homewark so she was too busy to play. Her mother Tequila was hanging out with Jenna and Alfina. Alura was all alone and didn't have anyone to talk to. Dixie then decided to show up.
Dixie - (worried) - What's wrong Alura? I never seen you this down before. you were alway's happy and having fun.
Alura - (depressed) - I know it's just, ever since me and Solaris got together we've been spending less and less time together. I don't whats wrong with him, he's just too busy or something. now, i'm sitting here, all alone, with noone to talk to.
Dixie - Well, why don't you hang out with me and Silvie, and ask your sister and brother to come too?
Alura - You know what dixie, that's not a bad idea. I should ask them to hang out with me sometime. thanks Dixie, I needed that.
Dixie - Sure thing Alura, what are friends for.
Chapter four
Dixie and Alura went for a walk over to Akira and Monroes home since they live together. as they approached the rather large home they started knocking and calling out their name.
Dixie and Alura - (together) - HELLO!!! ANYONE HOME!!!!!
finally someone had opened the door, it was the maid. she looked down at the two dogs standing in front of the door as she heard them barking and scratching at the door.
The maid - (talking to the dogs) Hello there. I don't think I've seen you two around here before. you must be friends of Akira.
the maid then called to Akira and Monroe. the two dogs slowly walked passed the woman and headed out the door.
Akira - Hey sis what's up, and why are you with Dixie?
Dixie - We were just wondering if you guys wanted to hang out or something.
Alura - Yeah, i've been kind of down lately. everone's so busy with other things and i think Solaris is, for some reason, trying to avoid me. so i came here because i didn't have anyone to talk to or to play with.
Monroe - (worried) - Alura, is there something going on between you and Solaris other than the fact that your together of course, but any problems.
Alura - No, not really. I had asked him to spend the night with me on his birthday and when we both woke up the next morning he left. that was the only real time we've ever spent time together since we have been dating.
Monroe - (thinking) - Oh now I get it. you slept with him did you not?
Dixie - (shocked) - You slept with Solaris? I had no idea you guys were in that kind of relationship.
Alura - (embarrassed) - Thanks alot Monroe, and yes i did sleep with him. he's my boyfriend, why wouldn't I?
Akira - I think i'm starting to see the problem.
they all started walking as they were continuing their conversation. Alura was starting to regret her decision on asking her brother and sister come a long. they alway's think they know whats best and whats wright.
Alura - So what do you suppose the problem is?
Akira - Well for starters, you slept with him and let him stay the night at your house. thats a clear sign that your moving way too fast. if you want this relatioship to work your going to have to take things a little slow. now for problem number two, your age. his birthday was yesterday, that means he's about a year older than you.
Alura - I'm 3 years old which makes him only a month older than me.
Akira - Okay so, scratch the age thing.the other problem is that he has alway's seen you as nothing more than a friend ever since you met. dating your bestfriend can cause problems in your relationship. so, when you break up with your boyfriend it also means your longtime friendship with each other is all over aswell.
Dixie - (surprised) - Wow, since when did you become an expert in relatioshps Akira?
Monroe - Yeah, how is it that you know so much on the subject?
Akira - One just simply knows, thats all.
Alura - Well I think your all wrong. me and Solaris are in a happy and comitted relationship.we respect each other thoughts and decisions. whatever problems we have i'm sure we could work them out ourselves and if not. then maybe it's not meant to be.
Akira - Well if that is your wish then so be it. we shouldn't be the ones always trying to make decisions for you. you have to learn to make decisions of your own and figure out whats wright for you.
Monroe- Alright, now i'm sure there is something going wrong here. where is all this coming from.
Akira - (sad) - I guess I got it from mom. and by watching her go through some of the things she went through with dad. she would always tell me stories about how they met and the type of relationship they had. it was just my of coping with our fathers death after all these years.
Alura - Well thank you anyway. i'm glad I could count on you whenever i need help. your the best sister anyone could ever ask for.
Akira - I'm your only sister.
Monroe - Hey what about me I helped you out too you know.
Alura - Right,well thanks again guys, now if you'll excuse me I have a date to prepare for.
Chapter five
Alura had left Dixie with her brother and sister and started off home where she would meet Solaris. It was later on that same evening Alura was finally home. she went inside to greet her mother.
Alura - Mom i'm home.
Scarlett - Hello there Ms. Alura, welcome home.
Alura - hello to you too Scarlett, what are you doing here and where is my mother.
Scarlett - Up stairs, my mom had asked her to babysit us.
Alura - So the others are here as well?
Scarlett - Yes of course, they are all playing in the back?
Alura - thaks for your help.
Scarlett - No problem at all.
Alura ran upstairs to her mother to see what she was up to. Tequila was up stairs trying to look for Sahara, one of Balto and Jenna's more adventurous pups.
Alura - (yelling) - HEY MOM!! ARE YOU UP HERE?
Tequila - (yelling back) YES!! I'M IN APOLLA'S ROOM!!.
Alura walk down the narrow hallway then took a right turn towards Apolla and Omarion's room.
Alura - Mom what are you doing?
Tequila - I'm looking for Sahara. she wanted to play hide and seek and I haven't been able to find him anywhere. and you know what, I don't think She even wanted to play. She just wanted to get away from me. Balto and Jenna had asked me to baysit the pups while they went out but it doesn't look like i'm doing a pretty good job.
Alura - Well Scarlett is down stairs and she told me that the rest of the pups were outside playing.
Tequila - Yeah I know that. Solaris is out there with them.
Alura - Solaris is here?
Tequila - Yeah he came by looking for you. he said you guys had a date today, but you were not here. I had asked him to help me with the pups until you came back. Where were you?
Alura - Hanging out with dixie, Akira and Monroe.
Tequila - Why were you with dixie?
Alura - (embarrassed) - Uhmm, no reason. I just wanted someone to talk to that's all.
Tequila - Why her? I mean she's almost as old as I am or older.
Alura - Well I like her, and she has hepled me alot today. now, i'm going down Stairs to get my boyfriend so we can go on our date.
Tequila - (smirking)- And where exactly do you guys plan on doing.
Alura - I don't know he didn't tell me, why?
Tequila - No reason, oh and if plan on bringing Solaris back with you tonight make sure you two keep it quiet this time.
Alura - ( surprised) - What? how do you know about that?
Tequila - Oh please, anyone could've known, especialy with noise you two were making. all the growling, yelping, and panting I had thought somone had broken into the house and you were fighting or something, until I seen you both all splayed out laying on on the rug by the fireplace. you guys must have a hell of a time down there.
Alura - ( more embarrassed than ever) - Mom please, thats our personal business. I just wanted to give him something for his birthday that I was sure he was going to like. anyway it was none of your concern. what we do together is strictly between me and him.
Tequila- Well i'm pretty damn sure he did. so how was it? was he good? what type of moves did he try? you know, there is nothing like a females first time.
Alura - ( blushing) - Mother stop it. your making me quite uncomfotable just by talking about.
Tequila -(laughing)- I'm sorry hija, you two go and have but not to much fun okay. you maybe an adult but your still my daughter remeber that?
Alura - I will mama, and I hope you find Sahara.
Sahara - Were you guys looking for me.
Sahara stood behind Alura and Tequila. Tequila was so worried but also furious at the same time. he had been hiding under the bed the whole time.
Tequila - (very worried) - Don't you ever scare us like that again you understand. your mother and father would be very upset with me if I had let something happen to you.
Sahara - Sorry aunt Tequila, I just wanted to have some fun. I didn't mean to upset.
Alura - Don't be too hard mom, he's just a pup after all.
Tequila - (sarcastic) -Gee thatnks for the back up.
Chapter six
Alura ran down stairs and out the back door in the kitchen. Solaris was outside playing with pups. they looked like they were actually having fun with him so Alura decided to join in the fun for a while.
Mannuel - Hola, buenos dias senora Alura.
Alura - Do you know how to english?
Mannuel (with a latino accent) - but of course senora, it's just that spanish is a very exotic and sensuous language. I am sure that most females of the canine race would actualy love it.
Alura- (annoyed) I'm sure they will.
Mannuel - you know, if it wasn't for Solaris I would totally make you mine.
Alura - uhmm yeahhh..........righhhht. well I gotta go.
Mannuel - but of course senora.
Alura - uhmm Solaris dear? I think we better go before it gets too late.
Solaris - Alrighty then, See you guys later okay.
Pups - ( together) Goodbye uncle Solaris.
Alura and Solaris then began walking back through the kitchen and out the front door. the young couple had been talking alot since they had left the house.
Alura - (laughing) - UNCLE SOLARIS!!!, well I gotta say it does have kind of a nice ring to it.
Solaris - I happen to like being called an uncle. it's one step closer to being called dad.
Alura- please tell my your Joking.
Solaris - No, i'm quite serious. i would love to have pups of our own to love and to care of.
Alura - well hopefully that won't happen anyitme soon. i don't i myself would make great mother. now tell me, were exactly are we going.
Solaris - we're here you just haven't realized it. look up at the sky and tell me what see.
The town was starting to get darker and darker. the dog were sitting on top of a grassy hill just outside of nome and as soon as the sun had went down numerous brightly colored lights started to swim through the clouds across the night time sky.
Alura - (amazed at the sight) - oh my, Solaris it's..it's beautiful I've nerver seen anything like it. it's like a ranbow dancing through the clouds.
Solaris - You mean to tell me you never seen the nothern lights. I brought you here because i thought it would be romantic but I guess to you it was nothing short of a surprise.
Alura- Your right, this is kind of romantic. thank you so much Solaris and i'm sorry about today. it's just that your never around hardly. and ever since we got together i feel like your pushing me farther and farther away. if there is something wrong with you you know you can tell me anything right. thats what couples do.
Solaris - Yeah I know.
The two just sat there for little while longer looking up at the sky. the northern lights was indeed a beautiful site. Solaris had began to lean on her shoulder as a way to comfort her.
Solaris - I'll always be there for you Alura. no matter what happens we will always be together.
Alura - Oh Solaris, the strangest thing happened to me today. I think one of Balto's precious pups might have a crush on me.
Solaris - (smiling) - I see, well were going have to do something about that won't we.
Alura - your not serious are you?
Solaris - (laughing) - Oh get over it Alura. Mannuels harmless he is just pup after. besides, it's only natural for a pup his age develop these type of emotions. it's just a little crush he will grow out of it once he is old enough to find himself a mate of his own.
Alura - Since when are you an expert in childpsychology.
Solaris - These are things we both must learn in order to raise pups of our own.
Alura - Well hopefully that won't be happening anytime soon.
Alura and Solaris continued talking for hours. they were still sitting on top of the grassy hill. and as the lights started to fade so did they. the both went walking together back home. it truly was the best night of their lives.
Chapter seven
The next day Alura was spleeping quite comfortably culred at the end of Atina's bed. Atina was sleeping nice and soundly. Alura had finally awoken not knowing what woke her up in the first place. Alura then went lay right next to Atina.
She started to nudge Atina awake for she was going to be late for school. After three minuets of tuging and pulling Atina was finally awake feeling some what drowsy and distraught. She then looked down at Alura wondering why alura had awaken her from her Tender slumber. Atina looked at the clock to see what time it was, then she let the loudest scream anyone has ever heard.
Apolla - (frantic) - Atina dear, is everything alright! I heard you sreaming! are you hurt?
Atina Marie - ( yelling from her bedroom upstairs) - YES MOM!!! I'M FINE!!
Atina's mother was speaking so softly she could hardly understand a word she was saying. Atina got dressed and downstairs and straight out the front door her mother soon followed.
Apolla - WAIT!!
Atina then stoped wondering why her mother stopped her. she was already late for school as it is.
Atina- Mom what is it? i'm already late for school
Apolla - You forgot your lunch missy.
Atina - oh right, sorry mom.
Apolla - it's perfectly fine. have a good day at school.
Atina ran as fast as she could so she wouldn't be anymore later than she already is. after watching her daughter go of to school Apolla went back inside and decided to get a little cleaning done while Atina was at school and Omarion at work.
Alura was still upstairs laying at the foot of atina's bed. for some odd reason she was feeling some what nauseous and queasy. it's 9:30 in the little town of nome. Alura had been inside all morning so Solaris decided that he should come by and see her.
Solaris was well known guest of the Cross Family. he walked straight through the dog door and into the living room. Tequila was sitting in a rocking chair that was set next to the fire place.
Solaris - Hi Tequila.
Tequila - (surprised) Solaris! When did you get here.
Solaris - Just now.
Tequila - (smirking) - I didn't hear knocking.
Solaris - I know, I just let myself in.
Tequila got of the squeaking rocking chair and stood wright in front of Solaris.
Tequila - Well since your here, is there anything I can help you with.
Solaris - No but thanks for asking. I actually came here to see Alura. usually she would come and see me but she didn't.
Tequila - Well, Alura's been sick in bed all day. it might be the flow, I admit it's been little chilly lately. your welcome to go upstairs to see her if you like.
Solaris - Thanks Tequila.
Solaris walked straight upstairs to where Alura was sleeping. he put his front paws on the edge of the bed where Alura's head was laying. at first he tried to nudge her awake with the slight touch of his muzzle but it didn't do any good.
He then just there staring at her beautiful shimmering white fur. Alura was one of the most beautiful. he then decided to lick her on the face. Alura felt the warm rough touch of his tung. she fluttered eyes a bit then a minute later she was able to see clearer. she turned around to see Solaris just gazing at her in a trance like state.
Alura - What are you doing here?
Solaris - I heard you weren't feeling well so I came by to see how you were doing. are you okay?
Alura - Well i'm fine for now anyway. I don't know what happened. all of a sudden, when I woke up this morning, I started feeling sick to my stomach. then I started to feel light headed. so I just put my head down for a while and was soon fast asleep. but like I said i'm alot better now.
Solaris - Well Thats a relief. hey, how about you and I go down stairs and get ourselves a bite to eat.
Alura - Yeah your right, I am hungry.
Alura started walking out of the bed room with Solaris standing closely by her side. they then made their way towards the staircase. they were now walking down the stairs until Alura felt a sharp pain in her stomach. the pain in her stomach was so intense she couldn't hardly stand. she then stumbled down the stairs trying to keep her balance. Solaris quickly ran down stairs straight to his lovers side.
Solaris - (very worried) - Alura! Alura are you alright.
Alura - ( in pain) - Yeah, I'll be fine. Just a stomach cramp thats all.
Tequila - What happend? and Whats wrong with Alura.
Solaris - Alura fell down the stairs. we on our way to get something to eat. she said she she has been feeling sick since earlier this morning. she then said she had felt a sharp pain in her stomach. stumbled a bit before she fell. I guess she was still feeling weak from earlier.
Tequila - ( speaking to alura) - Oh hija, are you okay?
Alura - I'm fine everyone really, I just need to eat something thats all.
Tequila - Well I sure as hell hope so.
Solaris - Well, I guess i'll see you guys later.
Alura - And just where do you think your going? I thought you were going to eat here? with me?
Solaris - Well I was, I just forgot about something. there is something I have to take care of first..
Alura - (talking under her breath) - why doesn't that surprise me.
Solaris - Well, I see ya later then.
After they finished up their little chat in the living room, Solaris quickly dashed out the front door. everyone was wondering why he was in such a hurry? and what was so important that he had to leave just like that?
There was certaintly something very strange about the way Solaris have been acting today. Alura didn't like this one little bit. everytime they make plans to go out or do something he' always running off or bailing out completely.
the only time they do go out and do something together is when he wants to or when wants to decide what they should. Alura was determined to find out exactly what it is he's doing or trying to do.
Chapter eight
Later on that day, Solaris was walking towards an old fashion cottage. He was going to see his mother and father. Alfina and Atlantis have been staying with their owners.
they have been together ever since they met. Solaris have been feeling quite awkward ever since he and alura have been together. so he felt that he needed some advice from his parents on what he should do.
he felt things were starting to get too complicated for the young couple. he scratched on the door not knowing if his parents were even home or not. they're usually out hanging with the rest of the parents in town.
Solaris - (barking) - Hello! hello! Is anyone here.
Suddenly he heard a soft angelic voice coming from inside the cottage. A beautiful copper toned husky came through plastic opening which made the dog door. it was Solaris's mother.
Alfina - (over joyed) - Oh Solaris!, my beautiful baby boy. How are you? it is so nice to finally see you again. wait a secon, where is Alura? and how come she is not with? oh my gosh, did something happen? is she alright? how about you? are you alright?
Alfina just went on and on. she was so frantic she could hardly stay still long enough to talk. talking was one thing Alfina definitly exceled at. it was just to much for even Solaris himself to handle. Solaris couldn't take it anymore. finally he cracked.
Solaris - Mom! please,calm down. alura is fine, i'm fine. everone is just fine. listen, I just need to talk you and dad about something important. and yes, alura is involved.
Alfina - (a lot more calm) - Oh, well alright then. let us go inside shall we. i'm sure your father will be quite pleased to see you as well.
Solaris followed his mother through the small opening that lead to the living room. Atlantis (his father) was curled up on a huge grizzly bear skin rug that was lying in middle of the room. right across from the fireplace. Solaris quietly walked towards his father as to trying not to wake him.
Atlantis had ears as sharp as nails. he could hear the slightest touch of someones feet (or paws in this case) on the ground nearly 30 feet away. he the eyes of an eagle. he could easely see the flutter of a butterflys' wings in zero visbility weather.
these are skills that Atlantis had learned while working for Sisqo as his top assassin and eventually his second in command. Solaris had know idea of the skills that his father had long since possessed. Still he persist trying to surprise his father with presence.
Atlantis heard him coming. he waited until Solaris was close enough to make his move. finally (to his son's surpise) he lept backwards over his head and knocked him clean off his feet. Atlantis was on top of Solaris in just a few short seconds. Solaris was simply astonished by what had just transpired.
Atlantis - (filled with joy) - Better luck next time eh my boy.
Solaris - I should've known that I wasn't going to be able to sneak past you. where you do that anyway. perhaps something from your dark past.
Atlantis - Yeah I guess you could say that. so what brings your here.
Solaris - I need your advice. about somethings. you and mom are the only ones I could think of that could possibly help me. you see, it's about Alura.
Atlantis - Whoa, this is serious.
Solaris - It's not like that.
Alfina - You know what heard? I heard you've been sleeping with Alura and that you even stayed the night with her on your birthday.
Solaris - (embarassed) - Where did you hear all this?
Alfina - It's all over town.
Solaris - (saying to himself) - Dixie! but how did she found out.
Atlantis - Did you say something son?
Solaris - No, not yet anyway. so, about my problem.
Alfina - Oh yes, please continue.
Solaris - Well, I think I should break things off between me and Alura. she's a nice girl and all but I just don't see her the same way she sees me. it was alot easier when we were just friends. but now things are more complicated. it's like, everything we do we have to do together. i'm used to doing everything on my own and making decisions of my own. i'm not as free now as I was then.
Alfina - Well thats what relationships is all about. trusting in one another, helping each other out. when you are in a relationship it's not just about you anymore. it's about you and your lover coming together as a team. now i'm not saying that you two have to do everything together. but try to comprimise, and try doing things that each of you like to do.
Solaris - I know mom, but it's just to hard, too complicated.
Alantis - Relationships are never easy son. you don't know what to expect or know what might happen. you just have to try and take whatever life throws at you. Alura loves you, she wants to be with, she wants you to be there for her. she is doing everthing in her power to make this relationship work, why can't you.
Solaris - So what your saying is that I should talk to her and tell her how I truly feel.
Alantis - Well not exactly but that works to.
Solaris knew what his parents had was true. in order for him and Alura to stay together as a couple instead of just a couple of friends. he must first put his trust in Alura and have faith that everything will work-out just fine
most imptantly he must trust in his self and his heart, for the true love in his heart shall set him free.
Chapter nine
I was a very cold winter morning. Alura was up first thing still having the same sharp pains in her stomach that she's been feeling ever since yesterday. she has also been vomiting all morning long and at the same time her appitite increasing.
She then knew that something was seriously wrong with her. but she couldn't worry about that sort of thing right now. she had to focus all her attention to Solaris and find out why he has been avoiding her the way he is.
The pain she has been feeling is getting worse and worse every minuet. finally she couldn't take it moment longer. she let out a GIANT AND LOUD HOWL!!! waking every person in the house.
She then collasped onto the bed. Atina was awakend by her dogs loud screams. Atina hurried down the stairs while carrying Alura in her arms. Omarion and Apolla both got out of their bed and ran inside the living room as they heard their daughters thundering foot steps, coming down the stairs.
Apolla - (in a state of panic) - Oh Atina, whats wrong? and why are you carrying Alura.
Atina - (crying) - mommy, daddy, somethings wrong with Alura. I was asleep in my bed,but then I woke up when i heard Alura howling. she collasped and then fainted. I think she might be hurt or sick. she have also been vomiting alot lately.
Omarion - wow this is serious. go get dressed and we'll take her over to doc's office. maybe he can help.
Atina - (very happy) - Oh really? thank you daddy.
the family got on their coats, and walked out the front door. they got into the car and drove off. It didn't take them long to get to doc's office. it was 10:00 in the morning and Alura was still in pain and barely conscious. the family knocked on the door to the office. finally, a tall skinny man with a small white beard opened the door.
Doc - Well....well...well.. fancy seeing you here. what can I do ya for?
Atina - pleas sir, my dog is sick and hurt. I don't whats wrong with her. can you please take a look at her?
Omarion - We will most greatly appreciate at it.
Apolla - We are also will to pay you. Alura is more than just a dog to us. she is a part of this family aswell and Atina's only friend. please help her.
Doc - Alright..alright....calm down...calm down. I'll see what I can do.
Atina - Oh thank you. thank you....thank you.....THANK YOU!!!
The family then followed doc into the doctors office. they then began telling him whats been going on with Alura. she's been every morning vomiting, having really bad stomach pains, and an increase of appitite.
After the doctor finished running his test. he went inside the waiting room with the cross family bringing Alura with him. Alura was completely recoverd and fully awake. she ran over to Atina and jumped into lap. she even gave atina a lick on the face.
Doc - Well I think Alura is going to be just fine. you guys are lucky.
Apolla - so what was the matter?
Atina - yeah what was wrong with her?
Doc - It was nothing to serious. she is just going to have to be alot more careful with conditions she is in. at least for the next few weeks.
Omarion - what do you mean doc?
Doc - Oh honestly, do I have to spell everything out for you. Alura is going to be having pups soon. she is pregnant, and is going to be a mother.
The family stood in shock and but with big smiles across their faces. Alura was not pleased about this one bit. with the things thats happening with her and Solaris, she don't how she is going to make it or how things is going to work out in their relantionship.
Things are going to be getting alot more complicated. she really didn't want to become a mother,not now anyway. I mean she wanted be a mother but she thought it was way to soon. she wanted to until she was older and ready.
She knew had to talk to somebody right away. she was going to start showing soon. the pups weren't do for another eight weeks or so. she perished the thought at what her mother or her friends might think or worse what they might say. and what if Solaris finds out, she knew she had to tell him, but when? and how?
Chapter ten
Later on that very same day, Solaris was walking down the street by himself thinking. he didn't know hwta to do, should he stay with Alura and work the problems they have out later? or should he just break things off completely thus, damaging his relationship and years of frienship they have shared in the past.
Solaris was more confused than he has ever been. deep down, he really wanted to do the right thing and stay by her side. but it was just to hard and too cmplicated.
Solaris just stoped thinking for a moment and kept on walking. he held his head low to the ground. then heard what sounded like a croud full of people and falshing cameras. he walked over towards the direction where he heard the noises. he then squeezed through the croud.
He was not surprised one bit when he saw what they were actually taking pictures of or better yet who. it was Ashanti and Vega, his brother and sister also known as the most famous and the most popular dogs in town.
They were very well groomed from head to toe. freshly manicured paws, 26K diamond collars, the works. these were so luxurious , high-maintenanced dogs. they aren't even pure-bred dogs, they were just simply beautiful. Solaris was now ahead of the croud. he stood directly in front of them.
Ashanti - hey little brother, glad you could see. want to join us in a photo-op moment. all you need is a good touch up.
Vega - Yeah, we can comb your fur with our paws. we can also lick your face clean for you. come on we're family.
Solaris - Thanks for the invite you guys but I have something important to take care first. maybe someday I might actually join you two in the spot-light.
Ashanti - If this is about you wanting to break up with Alura we already know.
Solaris - You do How? then again, nothing gets past you guys does it.
Vega - Actually it's not like that at all. mom and dad had told us whats been going with you two. and your right, if you don't have those type of feelings for her you should tell her. that way, you guys could break up and still remain friends.
Ashanti - Don't tell him that Vega. Listen Solaris, yes you should be true to your feelings but you also have to consider Alura's feelings aswell if you do this. she loves you, the least you could do is give her a chance. I've seen you two together, you guys make a great couple. maybe more beautiful together than me and Vega. just hear her out and give her a chance to express herself, if indeed do end breaking up with her. who knows, you might change your mind after wards.
Solaris - thanks for your help you guys. I should've came to you guys first.
Ashanti - But of course Solaris. your our younger brother, you can come to us about anything.
Vega - And if your ever hurt or in some sort of trouble. we will be there right by your side.
Solaris - (tearing) - Thanks, I love you guys.
Vega - We love you too.
Solaris - Oh and by the way Ashanti. how are things going between you and Monroe? you guys together yet.
Ashanti - ( blushing) - I told you guys before. I don't like him, besides he's not might type. now Steele on the other hand is a different story. I wouldn't mind cuddling with him in the winter.
Solaris - ( disgusted) - EWW! Steele. Ashanti come on, he's old enough to be our father or grandfather.
Vega - I know, he's way too old for you, and to old to be our brother-in-law.
Ashanti - Look , I know he's old okay I get it. but age ain't nothin but number. he's polite, strong, and handsome too. he voice sends goose bumps down my spine every time he speaks. I'm surprised nobody has bagged him yet.
Solaris decide it was finally time to go. he was getting very of her talking about Steele the whole time. now it was time for him to get back to the more important matters at hand.
Chapter eleven
Every morning it was the samething with Alura, more morning sickness and more pain. she hasn't even told her the news about her pregnancy. Alura was afraid of what her mother might say. she knew she had to tell her regardless. Alura got out of bed and slowly into the living room.
she was sleeping on the floor next to apolla. thier room was down stairs. she walked quietly to the old wooden rocking chair that sat next to the fire place. now was the time to tell her mother.
Alura - (whispering) - Mom? mom? mom wake up.
Tequila - (yawning) - What is is hija, don't you know what time it is?
Alura - 7:00 am.
Tequila - Really, it's that late in the morning? well there is no use going back sleep is there.
Alura -( not knowing what to say) - Mom I have to tell you something, something very important.
Tequila - ( worried) - Honey what's wrong? your shaking. is everything alright?
Alura - I'm not sure how tell you this.
Tequila - come now my child. you know you can tell me everything. now whats going.
Tears started coming down Alura's face. she didn't really want to tell her mother she was pregnant. but she had no choice, she is getting bigger and bigger everyday.
Alura - (crying) - Mom?
Tequila - Oh honey don't cry. i'm sure whatever it is we will get through together. I'll ask you one more time okay? whats wrong?
Alura - (still crying) - Mom!! I'm pregnant!!
Tequila was at a loss for words she didn't know what to say to this. in her mind she was thinking how such a thing could happen. Tequila pretened she couldn't understand what her daughter was saying.
Tequila - What was that honey?
Alura - (screaming) - I'M PREGNANT!!!
Tequila - But how? why? when did this happen.
Alura - Atina's parents took me to the vet to see what was wrong? and why I was so sick. I was feel to the ground and was unconscious. the last thing I knew, I was laying on the hospitol bed and was carried by the doctor.
Tequila - Well i'm glad you told me. so, i'm grandmother huh. when are they due.
Alura - Eight weeks.
Tequila - That long huh, How many?
Alura - I don't know, about five or six.
Tequila - Thats not too bad.
Alura - Mom I don't know the first thing about being a parent. i'm only 3 years old, thats about 16 or 17 in human years.
Tequila - You'll figuer it out plus i'll be there to help every step of the way. por la vida hija.
Alura - Por la vida.
Alura was feeling alot more confident now. her mothers reaction to the news striked her as odd. she really thought her mother would blow up and be angry with her. now she feels the need to tell everyone in town.
she didn't want to tell Solaris just yet. she still wanted to find out what was going on with him. while walking outside her front door Alura had tan into Dixie.
Dixie - Good morning Alura. have nice night did you?
Alura - Not even close.
Dixie - What do you mean. why? what happen?
Alura - Well i'll tell. but first you have to do something for me.
Dixie - Sure anything you want.
Alura - Okay then, I'm pregnant.
Dixie - No!! really? are you sure.
Alura - Thats what the doctor said.
Dixie - This is simply wonderful. whose the father?
Alura - Come on dixie you and I both know the answer to that one?
Dixie - You mean that.. Solaris is the father?
Alura - Who else?
Dixie - Oh my gosh!! does he know. oh boy I could just picture you two and the pups together. you guys will be the most beautiful and most perfect family in nome.
Alura - Yeah right, whatever listen. how fast can you spread the word. I want everyone in Nome to hear the news. then I'll finally tell Solaris.
Dixie - Alura please, when it comes to gossip I am a professional. you just be careful, I'll handle the rest.
Alura - (thinking to herself) - Good that way if everyone knew about it. It will be one less thing I'll have to worry about.
Alura walked back inside to lay down for a while. Solaris was just running towards her house. he had to talk to her right away. Solaris couldn't hold these feelings in any longer. he decided now was the time to tell her.
Chapter twelve
Solaris was coming up onto Alura's porch. he was feeling somewhat nervous, he didn't what to say or how to say it. he really doesn't want to hurt her. he is just confused and has mixed feelings and mixed emotions about himself, her and their relatioship.
There is no turning back for him now. whatevers happens now will happen. Solaris takes a deep breath before going inside. when he was finally inside he saw A lying peacefuly on the living room carpet.
Solaris - Alura? Alura? are you awake?
Alura - (yawning) - I am now. what are you doing here? I'd figure you would have something more important to do. you know, other than talking with me or taking me ou somewhere.
Solaris - (confused) - Uhmm...yeah. thats kinda what I to talk to about.
Alura - (confused aswell) - what are you talking about? whats wrong? you look upset about something.
Solaris - Alura I have been lying to you this whole time. ever since we have been together.
Alura - (hurt and angry) - I knew it, I knew it this whole time. I just didn't want to believe it.
Solaris- Alura wait It's not.
Before he could finish his sentence she cut him off.
Alura - (now crying) - So who is she huh? where did you meet her. is she smarter than me? maybe better looking I suppose.
Solaris - (growing angry) - Now wait just a god damn minute. it's not like that all.
Alura - (furious) - Oh really, then what is it then huh? why have you been lying to me this whole time?
Solaris didn't know quite how to say this. Alura was already in tears. so he just came right and say it.
Solaris - (shouting) - because, because I don't think we should be together anymore.
Alura - (speechless and broken hearted) - What?
Solaris - I said that, I don't think we should be together.
Alura - And why is that exactly? are you growing tired of me? can't stand to be around me anymore? or am I just not good enough for you?
Solaris - No! I look, I love being around. I to hear the sound of your voice. but things are different now. I liked better when we were just friend. us being together like this, mkes things harder and more complicated. I alway's thought relationships were easy, nothing to it. But my mother and father told me other wise. they said it was quite the opposite.
Alura - (screaming) - COMPLICATED!! COMPLICATED!! I'LL GIVE YOU COMPLICATED. ¿Cómo pudiste hacer esto a mí pensé que ser querido y cuidado para mí como hacer que tu supongo que mi novio mi amante mi mejor amigo y quiere que todos los tirar lejos porque no quiere llegar a cosas demasiado complicado, AND ON TOP OF THAT? I'M WALKING AROUND HERE SICK AS A DOG AND YOU WANNA KNOW WHY?
Solaris just sat there, not knowing what else to say. he then began to speak.
Solaris - No I don't, but whatever else your going to say , could you please say it english?
Alura - (sarcastic) - Alright then, let me put it in broad terms for you. IM PREGNANT!!
Solaris - (shocked) What? really, how?
Alura - Oh I don't know, maybe it was that night we spen together? remember? on your birthday.
Solaris - this is.... I don't what else to say.
Alura - (again crying) - Oh really.. you don't. How about saying your sorry. that your for putting me through all this and frustraition. your sorry for all the trouble you caused. you've broken my heart Solaris. I don't know if I could even love you again or trust you for that matter.
Solaris - Alura please listen. i'm sorry really I am. I just need some time to figure things. maybe clear my head. but for now, I think it's best for us to go our seperate ways. at least for a little while. I think we both need a little time to ourselves.
Alura - So you mean after all I did for you. after all of the crying and yelling and screaming I've done in order for you stay? you insist that we split up and break apart just because things are getting too complicated for you?
Solaris - Well... yeah.
Alura - Alright then fine. go... go ahead and leave. but before you go I've got something to say to you, and I hope you keep this in mind. no matter how hard things get for us, no matter where the road may take us. I still love you and we will get through this together. you mother and father are right. relationships are never easy, but we must fight to stay together. we must forget the past and look towards the future. we must fight the opstacles that may lie in wait for us. so that our children can grow safe without fear or worry. tu amor es mi energia.
Solaris left without a second glance. he heard what Alura was saying. but he didn't want to listen. Solaris needed time to think things through on his own without anyone elses help.
The fact that he was going to be father made matters far more worse for him. the one thing he ever wanted in life was to be a father. but how could he teach his own children what he himself does not know. he is now alone, afraid and confused.
Chapter thirteen
Solaris was walking home. he was very sad and upset. not at Alura, but at himself for not being able to figure things out. Solaris was at the where he just didn't care anymore. whatever happens will happen. but he couldn't ignore the fact that he still loved Alura. she always cared for him and took care of him. Alura was honest,kind and warm-hearted.
Solaris ignored these feeling and wanted to push them farther and away. Solaris has made it home but instead of going inside he just sat out on the front porch. it was begining to get darker and colder as the bright reddish-orange sun began to set in the little town of nome.
Solaris - (speaking out outload to himself) - Why? why did this have to happen. is it because I am blind to the fact the she really and truely loves and cares for me? even though I don't share the same type of feelings for her that she has for me? or is it just that I am afraid?
afraid of the change it will bring should I let myself express such feeling that I in fact have for my former lover? or am I just afraid of the challenges that my lie in wait for us and for our unborn children aswell.
WHY? DO TRIALS SUCH AS THIS ONE!!! HAVE TO BE SO DAMN COMPLICATED!!! ARWOOO....ARWOOO..
Solaris's cries did not go unheard. there was an onyx-black and white malamute walking through the streets. as the old heard Solaris's cries. he decided that he should go talk to the sad young dog.
Steele - So do you mind telling me why you were howling just now.
Solaris - (depressed) - Go away Steele? I don't want to talk about. nothing makes sense to me anymore.
Steele - And why is that?
Solaris - I thought I told you to leave me alone.
Steele - You know what kid? when I was younger I always someone who would love me and take care of me. you see Solaris, I wasn't born here in Nome.
Solaris - really, where are you from then? and how did you get to be the leader of a sled dog team.
Steele - I was born in this little town called Elim. I was about 3 months old at the time. my mother had past away and my father abused and disowned me. he was so lost without my mother around. he didn't know what to do. the pain of losing her was to much for him. from then on he just wanted to forget everthing that ever happened.
life wasn't quite the same without her. everytime he looked at me he saw my mother inside of me. thats when he would start going crazy and beating on me. I think looking at me made him feel the pain of losing her again.
Solaris - So what happened next?
Steele - Well, when I was finally old enough, I left. and of course my father wouldn't let me go. he already lost someone he really love and cared about. he didn't want to lose me too. so I ran away when he wasn't looking. he had searched the entire town looking for me. but I was long gone. he never saw me again and I never went back.
Solaris - It seems like you had quite the childhood. so how did you end up here in Nome.
Steele- Before I came here, I had to learn how to survive in the wild. elim is almost 100 miles from here. I was lost, afraid and hungry. I had to learn how to fish and hunt elk. I had to struggle to survive. one morning, I was out hunting. as I started to get closer and closer to my prey. I stepped on a twig and gave away my position. I was sure the young calf had heard me, but it just continued grazzing.
Solaris - What did this place look like?
Steele -(in a daze) - It was the most beatiful place anyone has ever seen. beatiful tall green pine trees. black berry bushes around every corner. soft forest green floors. lots of flowers and rivers as clear as day. it was more like a vacation than a fight for survival.
Solaris - So how did manage to find your way to.
Steele - I think your kinda missing the whole point of this story. but to make a long story short, I was attacked by a giant black bear. I was now laying on the ground. then there were gunshot fired. the shots managed to scare of the bear. A hunter found me, at least I think he was hunter. anyway, he put me on the back of his sled. the rest pretty much goes unsaid.
Solaris - Thats an amazing story. but all those years past. you were so self absorbed and conceited. why were you so mean to balto and why did you try to stop from carrying the medicine back to nome.
Steele - I don't really know exactly. you have to remember, I was never loved by anyone after my mother died. I was so happy when that man found me in the woods. he took me in and gave me nice food and warm place to sleep. I had nothing. I when joined the sled team, it was the second best thing that ever happened to me.people loved and accepted me. all the dog chanted and screamed my name each time I ran a race and won.
I knew balto was the fastest dog. but something just came over me when ever he was around. I did not see him as a threat but as competition. I have worked my entire life to get where I am. I wasn't going to let some half-breed wolf-dog just come up and take it from me. I realize now that it was wrong. all he ever wanted was to be accepted by the other dogs and for someone to love and befriend. but instead he was put down, misused and abused. a loner and an outcast. but all that I have lost and everything I have had got me thinking. that I was no better, no different than he was. in fact we were exactly the same. I was just to blind to see it.
Solaris - (emotional) - But look at yourself now. you have become much smarter and alot more stronger than you were then. and I think that your story may have actually helped me. we can't survive in this world alone. you didn't get where you were all on your own. you needed someone to help you and to guide your way on that path. we all need a shoulder to lean and to cry on. we all need somone to love and someone to lve us aswell. Alura can't make this step alone. she need someone by her side to help her through the most difficult of times. she needs me. I am the only one that actually knows and understands her.
Steele - looks like you've finally figured it out.
Solaris - I couldn't have done it without your help. thank you steele. you really are a great person and a wonderful friend.
Solaris had left from his porch and ran down back to Alura's house. Alura needed him, she wouldn't be able to go on without him. Steele however walked away from the porch and went back home.
Steele - (thinking to himself) - good luck kid, I hope you've found the anwsers you were looking for.
Chapter fourteen
Early in afternoon, Alura was outside laying in the beautiful lime green grass that was her backyard. She was babysitting for jenna and balto. her mother had left with. Alura kept wondering if Solaris was serious about what had said the other night. or wondering if he´s ever going to comeback.
The date was April 17th,1938. this was their anniversery of the day they first met. alot has changed since then. back then, they were just pups having alot of fun together. but now everything is messed up and different now.
they are no longer puppies nor are they just friends. what they have and what they have shared together was far greater than any of that. so why would leave and thow all of that away.
Alura continued to lay in the grass thinking while the pups were busy using her as their own personal chew-toy.
Cobie - (quietly speaking) -Aunt Alura, is there something wrong with you?
Alura -(heartbroken) - It's nothing you need to worry yourself about. I'll be fine, now why don't you and your brothers and sisters.
Cobie- Okay, I hope you feel better soon.
Cobie left alura alone for a while to play. the pups all started talking.
Scarlett - I wonder what's wrong with miss Alura.
Sahara - who knows it could be any number of things.
Mannuel - (latino accent) - I have not seen much senior Solaris around either. which means I can make my move.
Sahara - Oh get over yourself already. she is never going to want you no one will.
Mannuel - ouch that really hurt me deeply. ahh, Mi Corazon.
Sahara - I think someone might be a little Muy Loco.
Scarlett - (with a southern accent) - you guys, shouldn't be fightin like this. it is not appropriate for as young me n and women to carry on in such a matter.
Cobie- I have to agree aswell. something is definitly wrong with aunt Alura and I am going to find out what it is.
Sahara - You go right ahead then. see if anyone cares. we're leaving in a couple of weeks anyway.
Mannuel - Oooooh, if I were Cobie I would watch for little El Diablo.
Scarlett - Well what do you mean by that my dear little sister?
Sahara - Oh please, don't just sit around here and pretend that everything hunky-dory. We are six weeks old now and pretty soon it's going to be time for us find a home of our own. and if you ask me I can't wait be adopted.
Scarlett -(becoming quite angry) - Now you hold on there for just momment. our mother and father would never leave our side. they love us all. and I think your just a bit of evil for even making such an assumption suchas this. you may be tough on the outside but on the inside your just a pathetic old spineless coward who seeks nothing more that distruction of others you hurt.
Everyone looked at scarlett with such amazement. no has never seen Scarlett act in such a manner. Sahara started to cry.
Scarlett- Oh dear, I am truly sorry for such rude behavior. I don't know what came over me.
Sahara - (speaking in anger) - Save it little miss goodie goodie. your right after all, I'm not strong at all. i'm just weak and cowardly. everyone seems to be getting in my case about everything I do. but what about the rest of you, I don't any of you getting into any trouble.
Cobie - That is not true. we are treated equally as individuals.
Scarlett - Well except for me of course. I am young women of grace and poise. I don't tend to react in such a manner as I did but a moment ago. I am the older sister, it is my job to make sure everything is running smoothly and to see to it that everyone stays in place while mother and father are away.
Sahara - Well who asked you too. we can take of ourselves. right guys.
Mannuel- Hey man speak for youself.
Scarlett - Are you sure about that Sahara. because if you haven't notice mother and father are getting too old to be taking care of little wild puppies like us. thats why they always bring us over here. so they rest and have some time together. their time on this earth is short. and in the event that something does happen to them. the only ones we will have is ourselves and Alura and her mother and we can't depend on them forever now can we. Now I'll ask you again, do you really think you can survive on your own, without anyones help or support.
Sahara - Yes, yes I can. I can do it.
Scarlett - Really because I personaly don't you have what takes to survive in that cold and lonely world.
Cobie - Does anyone care about what I think?
Sahara - Not a chance in hell tiny tot. your nothing but a joke, a pathetic excuse for dog. your nothing but big fat baby. how can you possibly understand what's going.
Mannuel - Come now Sahara, he is just puppy. he is scared and frightend.
Scarlett - Well on the contrary we're all just little old puppies. though some of us happens to a little bit smarter than others. isn't that right Cobie?
Cobie - No! no that is not true at all. we are all intellegent in our on little way. just look at mannuel? he speaks spanish if anyone is smarter than anybody it would be him and you, Scarlett. I know I maybe shy and quiet at times. but Alura is family to me to all of us. look behind you. Alura is suffering, not only physicaly but emotionaly as well. I want to help, I want to help her but I don't how.
Scarlett - How we possibly help miss Alura? we're just pups, what can we do.
Cobie - I don't know, but I will find a way. wait a moment, why don't we just ask Solaris whats going. I think it may have something to do with him and why he hasn't come here as often as he has before.
Mannuel - Alright an adventure. you can count me in.
Sahara - Well you guys can just count me out. this is between Solaris and Alura, it has nothing to do with us. besides we don't even where he lives? where he is for that matter? and how to get there.
Scarlett - I know where Solaris lives. you guys remember don't ya. Mother took us there. it was when we were introduced to him and Alura.
Sahara - Well don't let me stop. like I said i'm going it has nothing to do with me or you. oh, and don't come crying to me when get yourselves lost or hurt. becuase I did try to warn you after all.
Scarlett - Alrighty then, just remember one thing.we are all family here, and Alura is as much apart of this family as you and I are. she is the one who's been taken care of us while mother and father are away. both her and her mother each sacrificed their own time and energy just to look after four little pups. they didn't have to take us in but they did anyway. without them we would have nowhere else to go, unless Solaris wouldn't mind baby sittin' for a while. you remember that.
After Scarlett had said all this, she and the rest of the pups left to find Solaris and to beg him to come back. meanwhile, Sahara was still laying in the beautiful soft green grass of the back yard. she was thinking about what her sister Scarlett had said to her. for some odd reason Sahara didn't Alura all to well in the first place. she would rather spend some time alone with her own parents and her sibilings aswell.
Balto and Jenna have always been so goodwilled and kindhearted. it's unlike them to just ababon their pups and go off doing other things. maybe they had a different motive for what they were doing. they are both smart and clever, and don't forget Balto is half wolf after all.
Chapter fifteen
As the blue sky started to darken, Alura awoke and found out that she had been sleeping outside all day. she started to walk back inside the house, but noticed something was wrong the pups were missing. all except Sahara.
Alura - (worrried) - Oh Sahara this awful. where did they go if we don't find them soon Jenna will never trust me again and Balto will never fogive it either.
Sahara knew something had to be done. she didn't want to tell her that the pups where out searching Solaris to bring him back to her. so she lied.
Sahara - Chillax aunt Alura, everything is fine. mother and father came and got them a little while ago. I wanted to stay here and spend the night with you. if that was okay with you?
Alura sat there and smiled in agreement. she would love to have one the pups to stay the night with her. Alura needed someone to keep her company.
Alura - Well of course you can stay the night. but we have get inside now. we will eat dinner first and then it's off to bed okay.
Sahara - Bed this early? I want us to stay up all night talking and playing around. hiding in the closets.
Alura - Maybe tomorrow, but you need your rest. besides we wouldn't want to wake the other with our little all girl slumber party now do we. now lets get inside and eat something so we can both go to bed.
Sahara - Yeah,okay.
Alura and Sahara made their way towards the back entrance of the house. since the back door was locked they went through te dog door beneth it. the back door lead straight into the kitchen. Alura and Sahara began eating of their food bowls. once they were finished they went into the living room. the was carpeted with a rug wright in front of the firplace. Alura's mothe Tequila was laying in the brown red-wooded rocking chair that sat diagnaly towards the fireplace.
Meanwhile, Scarlett,Cobie and Mannuel were still looking for Solaris. they had looked for him at his home but he was not there. it now after midnight, the pups were starting to get tired and hungry. soon they had found refuge in an old box in a nearby allyway.
Mannuel - Maybe Sahara was right?
Cobie - What do you mean?
Mannuel - What do you mean, What do I mean? I mean she was wright about us leaving. we should've have stayed with Alura at her house. this is none of our concern. if Solaris wants leave Alura, let him leave. and fi she suffers from it then oh well. the best thing we can do for her now is to give her our support and comfort her the best way we can.
Scarlett - Wow, it seems to me like your truly in love with Alura. I thought it was just a little ol' puppy crush. but you do love her, don't you?
Cobie - Is this true? are you really that in love with her. you know that's not even remotley possible. She's old enough to our mother.we're just a pups anyway, what do we really know about truly in the first place. we know our parents,family and friends all love us dearly, but in what way. we are not old enough to truly understand the significance of what love truly is.
Scarlett - I must say, your begining to act like me everyday.
Cobie -(smiling) - I know, that's the idea. I want to be just like you big sister.
So the pups all wandered aimlessly towards the dark ally inside the big tan and box getting ready to spend their first night out on the streets.
As the pups awaken to their first morning on their own, they then started to wonder about what to eat for breakfast. they soon left the ally to begin their thirty-five minute journey back to Alura's home.
The pups walked down the long narrow busy sidewalk,and they just happen to spot a vaguely familiar dog running down the sidewalk on the oppisite side of the road.
It was Solaris, running as fast as the wind towards the direction of Alura's house. he seemed to be in an ultra good mood today for some reason. the pups ran as fast as they could to catch up to him.
Solaris felt like somone was following him. he could hear loud footsteps coming from behind him. he stoped then turned around to see who it was that was following him and why. he saw it was Balto and Jenna's pups running wright behind him.
The pups all came to a sudden stop. but they stopped to quickly and to early, causing them to crash straight into Solaris. he got up and rubbed his head for a minute. he looked at the pups suspiciously
Solaris - (puzzeled) - What you all doing out hear all alone? and where are your parents?
Cobie -(responding) - They are not here.
Solaris - What do you mean by that cobie? why aren't they with you?
Scarlett -He means they weren't with us. we left late last night from miss Alura's House.We were looking all over town for you. we had to spend our first night alone oustide in a box in the ally.
Solaris - (shocked) - What!! are you serious.
Mannuel - She is dead serious.
Solaris - We better get back to Alura's fast!! before your parents find out your gone. they're probably on their way over there right now to get you. wait a minuet, where is Sahara?
Cobie - ( growing angry) - Who cares? she's a cold heartless evil wench. who cares only about herself.
Solaris - What!! Cobie stop talking nonsense and lets get going, pronto!!
Solaris and the pups left the streets of Nome and started their way on toward Alura's house.
Epilougue
Back at home Alura was wide awake. she and Sahara had been up all morning long talking and playing while Tequila left the living room to find a much more quiet place to continue her marvelous slumber. as Alura continued playing she suddenly felt short sharp pains in stomach.
The growing pups insied of her were kicking quite profusely, then kicking stopped almost as soon as they started. Alura was feeling rather weak now and didn't playing anymore.
The time is nearly at hand. soon alura will become a first time mother. she will have to take on more responsbility than she ever thought possible. after all, raising children is no walk in the park.
Alura - (exhausted) - Alright Sahara I think that'll be enough for today.
Sahara - (disappointed) - Oh come on aunt Alura, just one more game, Please.
Alura - Sahara, I haven't been feeling so well lately. and on top of that i'm going through some very difficult changes right now. you understand that don't you.
Sahara - Yeah I guess so. but what's wrong with you? why are you not feeling? I have noticed that put you have been getting larger, and putting on quite a few pounds. are you sick or something.
Alura - Something like that, listen it's nothing you have to worry yourself about, well at least not yet, not until your old enough to understand. it's grown up thing. now, i am sure that your brothers and sister will be arriving hear shortly you'll have much more fun with them.
Sahara - (whispering) - Not likely.
Meanwhile, as the pups and Solaris finally make their way inside the gates of Alura's home they spot Balto and Jenna slowly making their way down the street. so they hurried and rushed right through the front dog door.
Alura was quietly resting on the rug next to the firplace (as usual). they quickly make their way towards Alura in order to surprise her. Alura can feel someone breathing over her. she turned around to see who it was. but when she discovered who it was, she stood up in a sudden state of shock.
Alura -(filled with tears) -Solaris!! is that....really you? have you come back for me?
Solaris - (feeling sheepish) - Yes it's really me and i'm sorry. sorry for everything that I have and did. I never meant to hurt. thing were just movng way to fast for me. I was comfused I didn't what else to do. I had to distance myself from you in order to get mylife and myself back in order.
Alura - (switching her focus from Solaris to the pups) - hold on there for a minuet Solaris. you guys would you mind giving us a minuet alone.
Cobie - (talking to his sibilings) - Come on guys I think it's time for us go now.
Sahara - Cobie wait, I want to apologize for the thing I have said this past week. I was wrong about her, about everything. after spending one night with her I was able to see the kindness flow within her. we were up all morning talking, playing and hanging out. and you know, it was BLAST!!.
Cobie - thanks I really needed that.
The pups left out the back door to play in the yard. then Solaris and Alura continued their conversation.
Alura - Now your were saying.
Solaris - I was saying how sorry I was for leaving you.
Alura - (crying) - Oh, wright. but how can I even trust you again? after all the lies and the pain you caused me. how do I know this isn't some big sharade and that this isn't just another one of your lies. how will I ever know?
Solais -because you love me and I in return love you. thats what keeps us going, thats what makes us strong. our love for each other is what holds us together.
Alura - (calm) - wow, now I'm the who's confused I don't whether to believe you or not.
Solaris - Look, I'm not asking for your trust, even though that is what I would hope for. I am asking you to forgive. forgive for everything that I have ever done wrong. we can make it, together. and if not for me, do it for our children. they need a father and I need them aswell.
Alura sat in deep thought for a moment before she responded. Solaris words of wisdom sounded truthful enough. but is it enough to convince her.
Solaris - (looking in worry) - Alura?
Alura - I have thought about it and?
Solaris - And what.
Alura - And your wright, if we are going to do this we have to do it together. not just for our sakes, but for the sake of our children. just promise me that from now on we share everything with each other. and that we will both have an open mind. keep everthing out in the open.
Solaris - Which means?
Alura - (annoyed at the question) - Which means no more secrets and no more lies. only the truth. promise.
Solaris - I promise. no more secrets and no more lies.
Alura - (whispering in his ears)- I love you solaris, mi amor y mi corazon.
Solaris - (whispering back to her) - I love you too, mi amor.
Alura smiled happily for the first time in weeks. She ran towards Solaris and jumped on top of him. holding him in long, tight warm embrace as if they were bound to each other for ever.
The date is now April 30, 1938. this date is the start of a new life and new begining for Solaris and Alura for they have lots of adventures and also new dangers that may lie in wai for them yet.

I mainly wanted to switch the focus on Balto and Jenna's new litter of pups towards the end of the the story because I felt like they should a bigger part in the story and also I wanted show and point out the problems that brothers and sisters alike go through and how they should deal with the problems they are faced with.
