"I think it's time for me to go on my own."

Hello. I am Siena. I have a very wierd life. I am part wolf, part husky. How did that happen? Ummm...... long story. I don't know all of it myself. I live like a dog, act like a dog, and the only thing that suggests I am part wolf is my looks. Every dog that has looked at me has said, "Are you part wolf?" The first one to have done that would be Jack.......

I walked out of the woods to see a dog running around outside of a town. He looked at me and said, "Hello. You seem to be new here. You look like you are a wolf; are you?" I looked him straight in the face and said,"I'm part wolf." He looked rather taken aback to have someone answer this annoying question so promtly and without shame. I was pleased. "What's your name?" he asked. "Why do you want to know?" I said testily. He sighed impatiently. "I just do!" he howled. I sighed with mock impatience and annoyance. "My name is Siena." "Cool," he said. "My name's Jack."

It's me again. Aren't I awesome? So that's how I became friends with Jack. We did a lot together. Actually, the most we did was ran around outside of town. One day we were doing this together, and we stumbled upon something quite useful.....

"Race you to that tree!" I shouted. We were off. He beat me, again. Then we decided to play hide-and seek. I think it's a rather dumb game actually, but I couldn't think anything better.  Jack was 'it'. I raced off in search of a place to hide. I don't know how far I went. I don't think it was very far, but I'd never been there before. I rushed out of some bushes and almost ran into a small shack. About the size of a small doghouse. I settled down into it. Jack found me pretty quickly. I think her used his nose. "What's this?" asked when he got to the shack. I rolled my eyes. "A shack." I said. It was Jack's turn to roll his eyes. "Besides the obvious, I mean." he said. I shrugged in response. "Hey, I have an idea," he said. "This can be your home!"

Of course, I agreed. I was happy, very happy. Just me and Jack. Life was good. But no one can live alone forever......

"I want to take you to meet the town dogs of Anchorage." Jack said to me one morning a few days later. I nodded. We walked into town together. He led me into an alleyway. There were six dogs seated in a circle. I shrank back. I had never been around this many dogs before. The most company I'd had was Jack and my mother. All these dogs scared me. But Jack incouraged me to sit down. The dogs went around the circle and introduced themselves to me. The oldest one was Bear. He was a retired sled dog. He was very nice and did not press me to talk. Kichie was Bear's mate. She was almost as old as he was, and lived a comfortable life with an old man. Kronos was thier son. He lived with a little girl. A dog who lived with him was named Kiak. He had a mate named Leila. She lived with the doctor. They had a pup named Deeno. He lived with a small boy. After they had introduced themselves, Jack introduced me. They all nodded and then told me this was a town dog meeting. All the nice dogs in town would gather here to talk about their latest news. I couldn't help liking these dogs a whole lot.....

So I met the town dogs. I grew to like them more and more as time passed, especially Jack. Yeah, Jack was my special friend. He was a really special friend. Really really really really special. Incredibly special. Unusually special.....

One evening Jack came up to my shack. He was unusually shy. "D-dyawancomewatchs-set." he said. "Sorry, didn't catch that last bit." I told him. He cleared his throat. "D-do you want to come watch the, uh, sunset?" He looked so embarrased. I wondered why. I shrugged and nodded, but I couldn't help feeling a little embarrased, too. We walked past the town. I automatically turned toward the beach, but Jack stopped me. "This way is better," he said. "Follow me." He turned in the direction of the forest. We walked into it. It was cool and dark inside. It reminded me of my days as a pup. Jack led me up a steep hill. Suddenly, the trees ended. I gasped softly. The ground dropped away in front of us. It was a small, rocky cliff, about three feet high. The sun was about halfway set, and everything was bathed in an soft, orange glow. We lay down; very close together, too close. I shifted over. Jack looked at me. I shook my head. He shrugged, so I turned my attention to the horizon. The sun slowly sank lower and lower until the ocean swallowed it up. It suddenly became much darker, not quite black, but still dark. We lay there for a minute and then stood up. "May I escort you home?" Jack asked me. I nodded. We walked through the woods in silence. As we walked past Anchorage, Jack said, "Do you want to do this again?" I was glad it was dark: I had never blushed so much in my life. I didn't answer him. When we got back to the shack, I lay down and Jack went away. But when he thought I was asleep, I know he doubled back and slept half the night with me.

That's when I realized I was falling in love......But you have no business interfering with Jack and me. Sooooooooo enough of that.........
........WHO PUT THIS PICTURE IN HERE??!!

As I was saying............All you need to know is that Jack and I fell in love. End of story. No more. Zippo. Jack and I fell in love, got it? ..........Okay, should I tell you more now, about how me and Jack mated? Okay, here goes......

One night, Jack and I were................

Why do my stories always start like that........

One dark and stormy night...............

Okay, it wasn't a dark and stromy night, but you get the idea........

One very beautiful night, two dogs were lying in the moonlight...........

Okay, this is not working at all..........

One night, Jack and I were lying together in the moonlight. In the light of the Northern lights, actually. Jack turned to me and said, "Erm, Siena........." I nodded. Jack cleared his throat and said, "Do, um, well, d-do you want to mate me?" I closed my eyes and nodded, too excited to speak.

Sorry that was so short. It was a dark and stormy night when I had my pups........

One dark and stormy night.......

You do not need to know about that. All you need to know is that it was awful. I'll go ahead to when Jack's owner sold the pups........

Our pup's names were: Jenna, Siak, Asine (AS-any), and Jackson. Right now they were all sitting in a box on the street. The first person that came was an old man. He took Jackson. I heard something about "northern Canada ice fishing" 'Great,' I thought. 'Our oldest pup is going to be taken away and we'll probably never see him again.' Tears couln't help filling my eyes. They stayed there as I watched Jenna, Asine, and finally Siak get taken away. Jack saw the tears and said,"Don't worry, Siena. We'll see some of them again." I nodded, not trusting myself to speak. Our pups would have good homes.....I hoped.

I never knew what happened to Jackson, or Asine, but I expect you might sometime soon, but that's another story. Our story, Jack's and mine, had a happy ending. Here it is........

Jack rushed up to me. "Siena, Siena," he howled. I looked up from my nap. "My owner is going to move to Nome! I don't want to leave you. I-" I rolled my eyes. "What is to prevent me from moving up to Nome with you?" Jack looked embarrased, but said, "You don't know the way." It was my turn to look embarrased. Then, a sudden idea hit me. "Jack," I said. "How exactly is your owner getting there?" Jack looked puzzled. "I'm pulling him in the sled." he said. "Why?" I grinned. "I'll just follow you. There is no way a dog pulling a sled can outrun a wolfdog pullling nothing. I can't wait to see how much Jenna has grown, and if she has a lot of friends, and if she's happy there, and-" Jack interrupted me with a loud fake cough. "Sorry," I said. I knew wherever we were, we would always, always be together.

There is always a time to die, but for me and Jack, that is not now. Don't worry. We'll stick around for a good long time. And as for the story, it's, well, over.
