It was morning in  the springtime and Jenna was by herself in the bed.

"Balto? Now where is he?" she said as she got out bed. She yawned.

She shook and then went to the kitchen to  the bowls.

"Rosey's at work early today." she said.

She wasn't hungry so she just drank some water.

"He must be with Duke again." she thought.

Balto loved going flying on the plane but she rather stay on the ground.

She looked at the new blue bandanda Balto gave her for her birthday. She blushed.

"My Birthday was so much fun this year. I wonder when Balto's......" she trailed off. 

"Balto 's birthday...." she thought

For all the years Jenna has been with Balto he never mention his birthday.

She asked him before but he would always change the subject.

Jenna thought it made him think about his mom and made him sad.

She never confronted this to Balto  but the question keeps buzzzing in her mind.

Then one day Jenna went to the boat to talk to Boris

"Boris? Boris are you  there?" Jenna asked.

Then she saw him on the boat.

"Jenna? Vhat bring vou here?" he was about to leave. She just caught him.

" Can we talk for a moment?" Jenna asked.

"Vhat about?" Boris asked.

"About Balto's birthday." Jenna said.

Boris froze after the words were spoken.

"Hmm. I knew this would come someday." he said.

He walked towards her.

"Let's go inside." He said in a serious tone.

 While Balto and Jenna entered the boat they started to talk.

"What's wrong? Don't you know?" she asked.

He quietly said "No."

"Huh? Why not? He never told you or anybody?" She asked. 

"Balto.......never told you about it  because......." He stopped and looked to the sky.

 "Because....?" Jenna said.

"He doesn't know." he said.

"What?" Jenna said stunned.

 "He barley remembers his mother or famliy let alone own his birthday." he explained.
 

It was quiet for awhile until Jenna got an idea.

"Why don't we make a birthday for him?"  She asked.

"All of us?" he asked.

"Why not? It'll be great!" Jenna said with a huge smile on her face.
 

"Well I guess it wouldn't hurt to do it." Boris thought.

"Ok but how will we do it with out him knowing?" Boris walking to her.

"Leave that to me" she said with a sneaky look.

A month has passed  after Jenna and Boris talked. Jenna talked to Dixe and Syvie to spread the news to everyone about  Balto's surprise except Balto of course. 

 Even Rosey caught on on what Jenna was doing. (Don't ask how.)

Balto mostly hung out with Duke's route so he didn't notice until they finally got a break which Jenna didn't see. She thought he had one more flight before Balto would come home.

For months Jenna has been planning a party in the boiler room. But Balto came home sooner that expected.

Now Jenna had to tell everyone to keep everything out of sight of Balto.

Everyone would avoid Balto especially if they when they were carring something.

Like the other day Star, Kaltag, An Nikki were pulling something big like a tv with a cloth on top on a sled and Balto just happen to walk byfrom a trip with Duke.

"He guys what are you doing?" he said eyeing the object.

"BBBBBalto?!" they all cried. and froze on the spot.

Balto tilted his head. "What's wrong guys? Cat got you tonges?" he joked.

But the boys looked at each other nervously then to Balto.

"What's that?" he pointed with his paw.

"This? Oh, its nothing!" Kaltag said.

"Yeah nothing!" Nikki sid.

The box moved. then made a sound.

"Doesn't look like nothing." Balto said coming closer.

 The three stepped in front of him.

"Well it is nothing." Kaltag said.

Yeah! Its not a surprise for a party if that's what your thinking." Star blabbed out.

"What?" he said confused.

The two bonked him so hard he was out cold.

"Gotta go!"  they said putting Star on the sled and running as fast as the wind.

"That's strange even for them." he thought as he went home.

Balto had went through the doggie door. It was quiet and the lights were off.  "Jenna? You home?!" he called but no anwser. 

"Huh. Now this is stranger." he thought.

Then the door opened behind him.

"I can't believe we're going to do this to Balto!"  It was Rosey's voice. Then Jenna came beside her. Rosey had big  bags with her.

They both stood still when they saw Balto.

"Balto. You're here?" Rosey said hiding the bags

"Uh Jenna why don't you hang out with Balto." outside she said pushing both of them out.

The door slamed behind them. "What was that about?" Balto asked.

"Uh I think she saw a rat or something." Jenna said nervously.

"But I didn't smell or see any-"

"Look its Kodi!" she cut him off then walked off to Kodi and the team.

He slowly  followed her.

Kodi and the team were walking the town. Then Kodi saw Jenna trot to him.

"Hey Mom! Did you tell dad about the surprise birth-"

"Kodi!! Ex-nay on the -irthday bay. " Jenna whispered to Kodi.

"Huh?" he tilted his head but then Balto was behind Jenna.

All of the team looked at him. 

"Hey guys. How  you've been?" asked Balto.

"Great!! "  "Yeah we're fine!!"  "Kickin!!" "We're straight." "Swell!" each one said.

 "How about we all  go to the beach since you don't have to deliver today?" Balto asked.

"Uh?" Kodi tried to choose his words carefully.

"We need to pactice runing so we don't slip up. Gotta go right guys?" Dusty said to the guys.

"Yeah!"  "Sure!"  "Very true!"  they all said.

Balto looked at them confused. "But you go to the beach to-"

"Bye Dad! Gotta go!!" Kodi said as he ran with the team.

"That's very weird . What's going on?" Balto.

"Nothing! Nothing! They're young so its natural for them to be like that. Uh....come on let's get some lunch." Jenna said pulling him with her. 

He looked at her curiously. "She's hiding something." he thought.

 That night while Balto was asleep Jenna snuck out of the house.

Balto woke up when he heard a squecky sound.

He saw Jenna runing when he looked out the window.

"Jenna?" he said going out to follow her.

Jenna went passed town into the forest.

An old brown, wooden,abandoned werehouse that has moss all over the windows.it was slightly bigger than the boiler room.

Balto made sure he wasn't seen following her.

"What's she up to?" he thought while hiding behind a bolder.

She walked up to the porch and started scarting the screen door.

"Kodi, let me in."  Jenna whispered.

"Kodi? He's here too?" he thought.

The door slowly opened then quickly closed.

Balto looked in the window  and he saw all his grown pups and all the friends he knew. Then he saw the same box that the guys were carrying the other day.

He tried to listin but all he heard were whispers.

Balto snuck by the house then placed his ear by the crack of the door.

"We have to speed this up. Since Balto is home with Duke. We have to make sure everything is ready. We need to make sure that everything is cleaned up. Soon we'll have to begin the plan the next night." said Jenna. 

 "Plan?" Balto thought.  

"How do we Trick Dad to come out here?"  Dingo asked.

"Leave that to me. I'll find some excuse to lure him out." Jenna said with a sneaky giggle.

 "Lure me out?" he thought.

 "This is going to be great!" Kirby said jumping around making the whole place shake.

"KKKKIrby! SSSSSTOP IIIIT!" shouted Dusty.

"Oh! Sorry." he said calming down.

"But what about the special surprise? Won't Balto be alittle freaked out by this?" Asked Ralph.

"Nah. He had this coming. He'll love it!" Saba said.

"HHHEEELLLP!!!" someone cried. 

Balto looked to see Boris getting chased by Muk and Luk. 

Balto quickly moved before he was seen.

"I can't wait for the look on Balto's face!!!!!" Muk yelled as they all crashed through the door. 

"Oh Now look what you've done!" said Boris pointing to the floor with peices to the broken door.

"We're sorry." Muk said as Luk nodded.

"Never mind that .Did you get it?" asked Jenna. 

Boris brought a square box  to her.

"Yes! I forgot this at home. Thanks Boris." Boris.

"No problem but are you sure about all this? This could make him cry you know." Boris said.

"I know but it'll be so worth it afterwards. Balto wouldn't mind that." Jenna said.

"What is going on!? Are they going to kill me or something?!" His mind went crazy.

Balto heard someone coming so he hid in the back of the house.

THe gang went back to town.

"That thing in the box nearly killed us! It will be murder when Dad sees it. Like a heart attack!" said Saba. 

"Don't worry. This whole plan will be quick and easy. No messes hopfully." said Kodi.

"Murder? They are trying to kill me! No.....no they wouldn't." He thought runing back to the house.  

Balto snuck in though the window and went to bed. Five minates went by then Balto heard Jenna go through the doggie door. 

She moved slowly in the bed next to Balto.

She looked to see if he was sleeping.

Balto's eyes were closed and pretend to breath slowly.

She sighed in relief as she went to sleep.

 "Jenna is going to kill me?" was the question that haunted him all night.

 The morning was bright as the beams of the sun went through the window to the bed.

Jenna streach as Balto started to wake up too.

"Oh No! I FORGOT ALL ABOUT IT!!!" It was Rosey.

Jenna had a panicked look on her face just like Rosey but as usual Balto was clueless.

She rose and ran to her closet then stopped in her tracks.

"Balto! Why don't you get some fresh air huh boy?" she said pushing him out. The door closed behind him.

Balto just stood on the porch dumbfounded.

He just sighed and walked off.

He felt confused so he figured he could talk to boris about it.

He searched the boat when he got there but there was no one there. Not even Muk and Luk was there. 

"Hmm? Ok this is serious! Muk and Luk never go from the boat  unless there playing in the ocean or forest. Its too warm for them in the ocean and they haven't been to the forest since Aleu......."  Balto didn't want to rememmber the pain of losing his daughter.

 After that He looked in town see if anyone was available to talk. 

All of the dogs were gone!

No one was in sight. 

He went back to Rosey's. He was about to go in to until something caught his eye.

The trash can was knocked down.

It had his eating bowl with his name on it,  and his leash, and his collar, and even his bed.

He couldn't believe his eyes. "No....Its true. They all want to get rid of me." 

His heart broke to tiny little peices. 

"My mate..... my friends...... even my own pups want me gone.......Well if they want me gone that's fine! But they won't have to kill me." Balto said runing off to town.

A hour later Jenna went to Rosey's.

"Everything is ready. I can't for Balto to see this!" Jenna said excited.

She scratched at the door.

"Jenna? There you are!" Rosey said smiling.

"I guess its time. You might need to find Balto  because I think he walked off today to town. His present from me is on the new bed. I'm sorry I had to work on his big night but my boss is a total jerk. Bye now!" she explained.

"In town? Maybe he's with Duke." Jenna thought as she went to town. 

 Duke was leaving his house. "Huh I wonder were Balto is? Haven't seen him for awhile. Must be with his family." Duke thought out loud.

Unknown to him Jenna was near the house as Duke went out.

"Balto isn't here then where-"

"Jenna! Jenna over here!" a voice called out.

 "Balto?" she hoped as she turned.

But it was Doc.

"Jenna you look sad. Is something wrong?" Doc asked.

"I'm looking for Balto. Have you seen him? We made a surprise party for him." Jenna said to him.

"Hmmm......Yes. I rememmber he came to me today." Doc said.

"When?" She asked hopeful.

"About an hour ago. he left this and asked me to give it to me and left. He didn't say where he would go." Doc explained to her giving her the note. ( Don't ask about how they can read and write.)

"I hope everything is ok Jenna. Good bye." he said leaving. 

 She opened and read the note.

Her eyes became watery and full o f saddness

"Oh no!" was all she could say.

 She ran with the note in her mouth to the werehouse outside of town.

She burst in the door.

Everyone burst out then said "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BALT-"

"Mom? Where's dad? " Kodi asked.

"Surprise!" Aleu bursted out of the box.

"What? Too soon?" she asked.

Jenna didn't say a word.

She only dropped the note that Doc gave her.

They all came around to read it.

"Who ever it concerns.

If you are reasing this I'm gone.

If no of you wanted me around you could've told me.

Even though you want me out I will still love all of you until the day I die. 

I will run untill I find a new home.

I Will love the days I had in Nome.

My famliy, my friends this goodbye

Farewell.

You will never see me again.

Balto. 

 Balto was miles away from Nome.

Tears was still fresh in his eyes.

He was leaving the true home he ever wanted.

He stop then stood to see the city of Nome.

"Goodbye Nome." he said runinng the other direction.

He ran and ran and ran for days and nights.

It  until he passed a sighn said "White montain 5 miles"

"My new home" he thought as he entered the sparkling city.

His belly growled. "Well some food could help."

He looked around the alley's trash cans like before he became a hero.

He tried to avoid people so they wouldn't attempt to shoot him.

Then he heard a crash behind him.

He looked to see another dog looking for food too.

"Hopefully  this guy is friendly." Balto  thought

"Hi! My name's Balto. I'm kind of new here and I was wondering if we could be-"

POW!

Balto was pinned down hard.

"Now I'll get what I truly want!" The dog barked.

"What are talking about?" Balto asked.

But after Balto got a good look at him he realized what he meant.

It was Steele!!
