Balto : War Chief
† The Apocalypse †
The morning was dark and cold. The town of Nennana has received several telegraph messages from surrounding towns about horrible events happening. Somewhat like people dying of sickness, murders, earthquakes, and extremely bad weather. Nennana was about to message Nome when the ground trembled. The telegraph office held still as the small earthquake took place. Once the trembling had seised, Nennana messaged Nome. Hoping whatever was about to unfold would stay away from Nennana and Nome.
It was snowing lightly, and Balto was under his blanket watching the snow fall. He enjoys playing with Kodi and Jenna in the snow, but he wishes for warm weather instead of cold weather.
Balto stretched and walked out into the falling snow. A flake landed on his nose. Balto laughed and walked to Jenna's.
Balto walked into Rosie's house, and looked for Jenna. He was trying to be quiet so they would not know he was in. Balto was walking toward the kitchen when he overheard her parents talking.
Rosie's Dad - Did you hear about the events that have been happening to surrounding towns?
Rosie's Mom - No, what about it?
Rosie's Dad - White Mountain had an earthquake 3 nights ago. Nennana had a small one last night, Anchorage had tornado warnings, and who knows what we will get.
Rosie's Mom - I dont think we will get anything.
Balto was confused about all this, and he bagan looking for Jenna. He found her eating some beef jerky Rosie had given her. Jenna looked at Balto as he aproched.
Jenna - What are you doing here? Follow me.
Jenna swallowed her beef jerky, and jumped out a window, and Balto followed
Jenna - You know you could get hurt for going in a house?
Balto - yea, but it would be worth it to see you.
Jenna chuckled
Jenna - Well, why have you come to see me?
Balto - Well, i just wanted to know if you would like to come walking with me?
Jenna - Sure i will.
The two walked out of town, and into the forest. Jenna followed Balto to a little waterfall.
Jenna - Waterfalls are so beautiful
Balto - They are. Say Jenna, how about staying at my home tonight?
Jenna - Ok. I will be over tonight
Balto - Great. I will be waiting
Balto and Jenna finished their walk, and went to Balto's home. He prepared the boat so Jenna would be comforatble. Balto saw that there was only 1 blanket, so he let Jenna use it, exposing Balto to the cold weather.
Jenna : Are you sure you don't want the blanket Balto?
Balto : Im sure. You should have it tonight because your probobly not used to cold weather.
Jenna : True
They went to sleep quickly, and woke up the next morning.
Balto walked down onto the beach, and Jenna followed. Balto chuckled, and threw some snow at Jenna. She laughed, Balto and Jenna got into a snow fight. Jenna won. Balto walked her home that evening, and played with Rosie a bit.
Kodi was returning with the mail from white mountain just at the time Balto was returning home. He stoped by Kodi and the rest of the dogs.
Kodi : Hi dad.
Balto : Morning son
The musher came over, and untied Kodi from the sled, letting Jodi walk to Balto.
Balto : Kodi, have you seen anything weird from your mail run? I have heard of some horrible things happening in other towns.
Kodi. Oh yes. When we were traveling through White Mountain, the town was torn to shreds. I don’t know why, it just was. Juno was also in pieces. But i don’t know what caused it.
Balto : Well, i hope none of this happens to us.
Kodi : I know. We would be in big trouble if it did.
Balto led Kodi to his boat, and pulled out some food for him. Kodi devoured it in almost it felt like 6 seconds.
Balto : I can see you were hungry
Kodi : Yea. I Was. My musher gave the team just a little food for breakfast. (Silence for a while) Dad, would you be ok with me falling in love with someone?
Balto : Why wouldn’t I be?
Kodi : Well, i like someone.
Balto : (Balto smiled) here is a tip. Give the girl anything she wants.
Kodi : Ok.
Kodi ran off into town, back to his team. Balto watched as Kodi trampled through the snow. Balto wished Kodi could find someone that he would fall in love with. Who ever it was, he wished she would treat Kodi well, and that Kodi would treat her well.
Balto went into the forest to hunt some food. He found a deer, and scarfed it down quickly. While he was eating, the ground rumbled a bit. This startled Balto. Balto grabbed some meat, and ran back to Nome.
He saw Jenna playing in her backyard with Rosie, then Balto returned to his boat.
Balto felt a rumble in the ground as he approached the totem pole.
Balto : Whatever is going on, I hope it ends before it starts.
Balto walked back to his boat, and Boris was moping. Balto sneaked up behind him, quietly.
Balto : ABOOGA BOOGA BOOGA
Balto startled Boris.
Boris : Mercy! Balto don’t do that!
Balto laughed hard. He walked down to the shallow water to go swimming.
That night, Balto was having a dream about Kodi. He dream’s about Kodi, and the sled dog team. Kodi is the lead dog. They are running in the snow when the earth rumbles, and the musher stops the dogs. An earthquake then occurs, and the ground below them cracks open. They fall, and fall until their screams cant be heard.
Balto woke up with a hard jerk. He was sweating, and breathing hard. Balto then knew what was going to happen. He drank some water, then ran to Jenna's house to tell her what he had dreamed of.
Jenna : Why do you think you had a dream like that about Kodi?
Balto : I dont know, but i think i might have a clue.
Jenna : Well, it is not going to happen. It was just a dream.
Balto : I hope so.
Balto talked with Jenna for a bit, then went wandering the streets. He was walking beside the telegraph office when he looked to the other side of the streets at a weird colored dog. Balto was confused because he had never seen this dog before. The dog ran into an alley, and Balto quickly followed it. Balto saw the dog standing in the middle of the alley. The dog stood straigh up, not looking at anything exept for the ground ahead of it.
Balto : Um......Hello?
The dog spoke to Balto, still looking the other direction
The Dog : It's a scary thought isn't it. To not know. Not to know why you are here on Earth. What is our purpose? Why have we been created? It is a mind boggiling question.
The dog turned to Balto. He had light blond fur, and bright blue eyes.
The Dog : Until you know your purpose. You have a quest to find it out. It usualy takes humans, animals, and dogs a long time to find their purpose. But i know everyone's purpose, fate, and destiny.
Balto : Who are you? (Balto was confused)
The Dog : Arconala. That is my name. Yours is Balto
Balto : How do you know my name?
Arconala : I know all the names, events in history, and secrets. You have already heard to much.
Arcocala's eyes began to glow white. Then a bolt of energy came from him, and wamed into Balto, shooting him out of the alley. All of the people and dogs saw the energy bolt, and Balto flying back. They ran to the alley, and saw nothing. People surrounded the unconscious Balto. Mr. Conner came to Balto, picked him up, and took Balto to his office. Balto didn’t move, breathe, or twitch. Mr. Conner laid Balto on a dog bed that he had bought. For several days, he let people come and see Balto, even though Balto didn’t move. Rosie knew Jenna and Balto loved each other, so she let Jenna go see Balto. She led Jenna to the room, and then went with her mom and dad somewhere. When Jenna saw Balto. She was speechless. Jenna laid beside him and cried. A tear landed on Balto's paw. Balto's eyes opened swiftly, and he gasped for air. Mr. Conner saw this from his desk, and He rushed to Balto. Mr. Conner rubbed Balto on the head easily, and Balto tried to open his eyes so he could see Jenna. Jenna laid beside him as Mr. Conner brought food to him.
After Balto was better, Mr. Conner led Balto outside. Balto ran t the alley to were he had seen Arconala. The alley was empty. Balto noticed a small necklace on the ground. He picked it up, and ran back to his boat.
Boris was moping when Balto brought the necklace back.
Boris : What the heck is that thing you have Balto?
Balto : (drops the necklace in front of Boris) I don’t really know. I just found it.
Boris : What do you think it is worth?
Balto : That doesn’t matter right now. I just want to know what this really is.
Boris : Give it to Jenna
Balto : Why would I give it to Jenna?
Boris : Because it is shiny. Doesn’t Jenna like shiny things?
Balto : Yea, why?
Boris : Give it to her.
Balto : I might just do that.\
Balto picked up the necklace, and ran off into the woods.
Balto stopped at a small pond, and put the necklace down.
Balto : Why are so many things happening, and who is Arconala?
When Balto was done talking to himself, he laid down. He noticed the necklace glow. He stood up, and backed up. The necklace began to grow brighter. Balto noticed an image in the ruby on the necklace. Balto walked closer to the necklace and saw Kodi, and the rest of the sled team. Balto then remembered his dream of Kodi and the earthquake. Balto grabbed the glowing necklace, and ran out of town, onto Kodi’s team mail route.
He ran, and did not stop. Balto looked everywhere for Kodi and the team. But as he passed a tree, he could hear barking.
Balto : Kodi…
Balto felt a small rumble under his paws. Balto ran as fast as he could toward the barking he heard. In about 6 seconds, he could see Kodi, and Kirby, and the others. The rumble under his paws grew harder. Then a cracking sound came.
Balto : Kodi !
Kodi, and the rest of the dog team heard Balto’s cry, and stopped to look at him. Then, the dog team felt the rumbling of the ground. The ground cracked under the dog team, and the ground opened up beneath them. They began to fall into the dark abyss. Balto ran toward them, knowing he would be too late. He approached the opening in the earth, afraid of what he would see. But when he looked over the edge, he saw Kodi holding onto a branch in the dirt. He was bewildered that the branch was holding all of the dogs, the sled, and the musher at the bottom. Especially that Kodi could hold that much weight. Kodi was biting into the branch as hard as he could to keep from falling into the dark abyss below. He looked up at his father with a thought of never seeing him, or his mother again.
Balto : Hang on Kodi!!!
Balto quickly looked around for something to pull him out with. He found a long, and thick tree branch that would hopefully be strong enough to hold up the dog team.
Balto grabed the branch, and ran to the opening in the earth. Balto lowered the branch to Kodi. When Kodi let go of the branch he was holding onto so he could get the one lowered to him, he was pulled down before he could grab it.
Balto : Kodi ! No !
Kodi : Dad!!!.......
Balto watched them fall until he could not see them anymore. He laid down, and cryed.
Balto : Someone please help.......
Balto heard someone behind him. He quickly stood up, and turned. The dog he saw standing before him was the one he saw in the alley, Arconala.
Arconala : Why are you in sorrow?
Balto : My son........
Arconala walked passed Balto, and looked down into the abyss. His eyes began to glow yellow. Balto steped back. A whirlwind of light surrounded Arconala. The sun was closed off by storm clouds. Balto backed up even more. Arconala began to speak.
Arconala : With life, at a common pace, return what has been moved from time and space.
The abyss began to puff out white smoke. Seven lightning strikes came from the clouds, and into the opening in the earth. Balto watched with amazement. He soon saw Kodi come out of the opening, then Kirby, Dusty, and all of the other dogs along with their musher. They floated in the air, and landed softly infront of Balto. Balto nudged Kodi, and he slowly opened his eyes, and looked up at his father.
Kodi : .....Dad?...
Balto : Kodi ! Your okay!
Kodi : Yea...I huess i am
Arconala's whirlwind of light stoped, and his eyes turned normal. He walked over to Balto and the dog team.
Balto : Thank you so much Arconala. This was a miracle today.
Arconala : Dont thank me, thank your creator, the great God Almighty.
Arconala turned, and closed his eyes. He turned to mist, and blew away.
Kodi : What kind of dog is Arconala?
Balto : I dont think he is a dog son, but an angel dog.
Balto went with the dog team back to Nome.
That night, Balto sat on the beach, his mind pondering on what had happened that day. He looked out into the open sea, wondering about who Arconala had told him to thank for Kodi's rescue.
Balto : Who is God Almighty?
Arconala : Im shocked that you dont know.
Balto was starteled by the voice of Arconala.
Balto : Were are you?
The water near the shore began to glow a light blue, and Arconala walked out of the water, and onto shore, standing before Balto.
Arconala : Right here. Now, how could you not know of God?
Balto : Well, for the fact i have never heard that name before.
Arconala : Since you dont know, i guess i will explain. As you should alwready know, at the begining of time, God created Heaven and Earth. God walked upon the waters of the formless earth. He spoke "Let There Be Light", and the sun was made, which gave light to earth. Next, he created the land, then plants, and we animals, such as yourself. He created Humans next.
Balto : All of this is very confusing to me.
Arconala laughed a bit
Arconala : I would figure. Well, then years later, he sent his son Jesus to die for our sins, so we could be forgiven of all our sins, and we could get to Heaven. Humans have a chance to get to Heaven, and so do you Balto.
Balto : Me?
Arconala : Yes, you. I will tell you how you can be saved.
Balto : Please do.
Arconala tought Balto about salvation, Satin, God, Jesus, Angels, and all of the other stuff. After this, Balto was ready to be saved.
Arconala : Close your eyes, and bow you head, then repeat what i say.
Balto did as told. He prayed for the first time, and was saved.
Arconala : Now, go share this with the ones you know, and others.
Balto ran off toward Jenna's, and told her everything, and that night she was saved to. Balto told all of the dogs, and they were all saved.
Balto was felling something he had never felt before in his heart. He could tell Jesus was with him.
Balto wanted to do something that related to sharing Jesus with the animals, so he put together a club to be just about praising God.
That night, all of the dogs, including Aleu, and her pack came to the meeting. Balto couldnt wait to do what he planed.
All of the dogs surrounded the beach, and waited for Balto to preform. Balto stood before all of the dogs, and began to sing.

Later that night, Arconala appeared before Balto.
Arconala : You've done well. You have pleased him.
Balto : Anything for my savior
Arconala : The end is near though. But you should not worry. Everything will turn out fine.
Balto : I do have one question to ask.
Arconala : State your question, i will be happy to answer it.
Balto : Wait here. I will be right back.
Arconala watched Balto run off. In a few miniutes, Balto came running back with the necklace he had found.
Balto droped it before Arconala.
Balto : Can you tell me what this is?
Arconala : A necklace
Balto : No, what it is for.
Arconala : Oh, well, this necklace has the ability to show events in the future. Its nothing special.
Balto : Well, you keep it.
Balto pushed the necklace over to Arconala with his paw, then steped back.
Arconala : You found it, so it is rightfully yours.
Arconala gave the necklace back to Balto, and walked back into the water.
Balto picked up the necklace, and walked up onto his boat. He put the necklace by his water bowl, and went to sleep for the night.
