It was beautiful. The sunset that was before Balto and Jenna, was a mass of colour. The orange, red, pink, and yellow swirled together as if cotton candy. "Well well welley well well. What do we have here?" A strange voice asked. Balto and Jenna turned their heads and saw that one of the dog sled dogs was standing behind them. "Kaltag, what do you want?" Balto asked, standing up. Kaltag shook his head. Then he walked like a ballerina over to Jenna. He walked on his tippy-toes. Jenna growled then Kaltag said, "I just want to tell Jenna a blonde joke I heard Rosy telling her pa." Jenna answered him, "Fine. Make it quick." "Okay so there was 10 blondes and 1 brunette hanging from a rope from an airplane. It was about to snap unless one of the people jumped off and commited suicide. So they were all arguing over who should jump off when the brunette started to say that she would jump off and she was making it sound so emotional when she explained why so then when she was finished, all the blondes clapped and then they all fell off." Jenna tried to look serious and not laugh but she couldn't help it. She rolled onto her back and rolled around. She snorted she laughed like a hyena.

Kaltag was impressed that he could make her laugh. He liked her sooooo much. He just didn't want to tell Steele because he was trying to help Steele get his girl. When Kaltag finally walked away, Balto was staring at Jenna who was killing herself on the ground. She was laughing so hard that she started to shake. Balto was about to walk away when Jenna called out to him, "Wait. I am done. It was just that it was soo funny. I mean we never get to laugh like that because nobody ever tells us jokes so I am so sorry." Balto studied her face for a sign that she was trying to hold in more laughing. He didn't find any so he let out a long sigh. "Okay. It is just that every guy here is after you. Except for Nikki. He has his own girl. Now, if you ditch me for Kaltag or Steele, I will be all alone. I love you Jenna." Balto whispered the last words. Jenna promised him and they nuzzled. Not a friendship nuzzle like they had done forever, but a real nuzzle. A nuzzle of love.

Later, Balto and Jenna were curled up in the boiler room, watching the fire spin and turn behind the bars of the furnace. They touched noses when Kaltag walked in the room. He was with, Steele, Nikki and Sylvie, and Star and Dixxie. They gasped. Star crept away from Dixxie and popped up infront of Steele. "What is going on here?" He asked excitedly. Steele growled and looked at Kaltag. "You were supposed to break them up!" Steele screamed in rage and fury. Kaltag shrunk away. "I told them the funniest joke I could find!" Kaltag whispered. But that was a lie. There were plenty more funny jokes, but Kaltag hoped that it wouldn't be funny. It was. "KALTAG!" Steele screamed. Kaltag looked at Jenna and then back at Steele. "I really just want to tell you something Steele. I swear that it is good for me but bad for you. And if I tell you will pound me!" Kaltag shook and the words came out rattly. Steele replied, "Probably." This response made Kaltag shake harder. Jenna couldn't stand to watch what was happening. She knew Kaltag had a crush on her and she also knew that he was smaller than Steele. Then she thought up a plan.

She climbed away from Balto. She started to walk towards Kaltag in a beautiful way. She looked back at Balto who was looking sad. Then Balto saw the twinkle in Jenna's eye. He knew her plan. Jenna smiled sweetly at Kaltag who was shaking and shivering from almost being bitten by Steele. Steele stared wide eyed at Jenna, who was now walking under Kaltag's chin. He looked as if he was about to melt. Steele growled but Nikki made sure he was going to stay sitting. Balto looked sad but that was only because he was going along with Jenna's plan. Kaltag smiled but when Jenna left his side, he slumped down like he was going to cry. Oh well. He thought. It was wonderful while it lasted. Then what Jenna did, surprised him. She turned around when she was halfway to Steele. She walked back over to Kaltag, and she sat down right infront of him. Then she bent forward and kissed him gently on the nose. "Bye Kaltag." She said as she and Balto walked out the door.

"Wow. Jenna. How come you will kiss Kaltag and not me?" Balto kept asking Jenna. "Balto! I told you to forget about it!" Jenna scolded. It had been a week since the incident at the boiler room. And that full week, Balto kept asking Jenna why she kisses Kaltag and doesn't kiss him. Everytime Balto asked Jenna the question, Jenna looked sick. She hadn't told Balto, but she sort of liked Kaltag. But she loved Balto more. That night, Jenna spent the night with Balto so that he wouldn't feel so sad about Kaltag's kiss. Balto curled up next to Jenna that night, and she put her head on his back. Balto looked at her as she fell asleep, her bandana falling down.

It was a bright morning and Balto stretched. He saw that Jenna was sleeping on her back. He walked quietly over to his water bowl. He didn't want to wake Jenna. "Balto?" Jenna asked, half awake, half asleep. Balto said, "Over here." Jenna stumbled towards Balto. Balto looked up at her and she whispered, "I love you Balto. I love you so much!" She nuzzled him and he nuzzled back. Then Jenna kissed Balto on his nose. "You don't have to worry." Jenna said. Then she kissed him again and he kissed her back. Balto looked in Jenna's eyes and what he saw, made him happy. He saw trust and honesty and love. He knew that he could love her forever and that she wouldn't hurt him. He knew that she would tell him if she didn't love him anymore. He kissed Jenna one more time and the two love breeds walked off into the bright morning sunlight for breakfast.

When they finished breakfast, Jenna saw Kaltag with Star and Nikki. Kaltag also spotted Jenna and he loped over to her. "Hey Jenna. I love you." He said. Then he looked bad after he said it. The words just tumbled out. Jenna smiled and told him that she was waiting for Balto. Balto was going to the bathroom. Kaltag and Jenna talked. When Balto came outside, he saw Jenna talking with Kaltag. "Jenna?" He asked. Jenna smiled and touched his nose. He closed his eyes and when he opened them up, he saw Kaltag glaring at him. "Jenna? I have something to ask you. Um. Do you want to be my girlfriend?" Kaltag just came out and said it. Jenna looked shocked then she said, "Sorry Kaltag. I am going out with Balto. I love him and I can't go out with you. Sorry." Then Jenna and Balto turned and walked away, leaving Kaltag to sit alone with his thoughts.
