Snow walked out of her den and looked at the winter ice. She looked at her new home. Out of know were a big gray and black husky leaped at her. What are you doing here? She looked at him with a puzzled look in her eyes. I came all this way to find a new home I just came here last Monday. the husky stared at her. You are to close to Nome you will be killed if you are seen by the people! she sighed and said well I will have to find a new home then. The husky jumped in front of her. I CAN'T STAND HERE AND SEE YOU WALK OFF WHEN YOU HAVE GONE ALL THIS WAY! he yelled. He looked at her and saw her long white fur and her black tipped ears. You know I have looked for a wife and you might be the right match. I am a wolf and you are a dog! Snow said with a growl. I know but my master had hit me and yelled at me to much and I will run away with you. Snow sighed and said what is your name? The husky said my name is Musher. Musher and Snow ran off into the night and by morning found a safer place to stay in a den. Soon Snow gave birth to three small pups. Musher was the dad so one pup was black. The other one was all white and the runt was a gray and white color. Snow named the all white one Foxy and the all black one Night. Musher got to name the runt so he called him Balto. A week later the pups could see and hear and even walk a little. Now you pups be careful said musher as the pups crawed out of the den. Balto was to little becouse he was the runt so he stayed in. Balto why don't you play with you brothers? asked Snow. I am little and Night makes fun of me and Foxy calls me runty. Musher picked up Balto and swung him back and forth. I know non of the others can fly! he said. Thank you dad you aways help me feel better Balto said. that night the pups howled with Snow and Musher. Balto could not howl so he just sat and looked at them. Come on join us! Snow said. Mom I can't howl I don't know how. Balto said with a sad moan. The next day Balto opened his eyes from sleep to see Night looking at him. How is are runt doing? Leave me alone Balto said. Foxy nipped at Balto's tail and howled in his ear. Balto let a tear fall down his cheek as they ran out of the den. Balto fell asleep and woke back up when he heard whinning and growls. He ran out of the den to see his mom and dad bloody and dead on the ground. He saw a big brown bear walking off with foxy dead in his jaws. Balto ran to his mom and dad. He stuffed his face into his mom cold neck and cryed. He fell asleep by his dead mom and dad. He was wook up later by a big white goose. Come with me if you are lost. He said. Balto was sad and lost so he followed the goose. The goose took care of him for about a year. One day Balto was sitting down when the goose walked up to him. Boris not now he said. Balto do you know that there is a town not far from here called Nome were me and you can live. Balto followed him and saw the town. he saw a little girl that was playing with a dog about his age. Hi doggy she said walking up to him. Balto shook as she layed a hand on his head. A man gave a him a hard boot in the side. YOU LEAVE MY GIRL ALONE WOLF! he yelled.  Balto lived his days there with Boris and being picked on by a husky named Steel. Balto did not know but a wolf was looking over him every day. a wolf with long white hair and black tipped ears. a wolf named Snow.
