When Lisa saw what happened to her Saba she let out a cry and said, my Saba if only I would have been there to protect you this might not o-of h-happened, she finished in a choked voice as she held Saba in her arm Jenna was silently crying, Balto felt as if he lost part of himself, Kodi looked like he had been run over by a car and Dingo looked like he had been hit on the head with a bat, Zack went around town telling everyone who did not yet know what happened and the line was the same Saba has been murdered along with Drake, and before they could say anything he moved on to the next house, Jenna went off alone to think, Saba she thought you are no longer a threat to Rosie or me, Drake you did not have to die, she never felt guilt or remorse for killing Saba, but she had for Drake, if only he had not been there he might have lived, life went on after the two death’s Dingo and Kodi seemed to be closer with each other Drew had finally gotten pregnant, that’s great news said Balto, I know, said Drew after they had told Balto and she nuzzled Dingo, I knew from the moment I met him that he was special and he is, Drew finished, and what’s all this talking said Jenna who had just arrived, mom your going to be a grandma twice, you mean-, yes, said Drew and with that they walked away, Kodi came running over Mr. Simpson just took Dusty in to the vet because she couldn’t pull the slay and he thought there might be something wrong with her, well, said the Vet, I have good news and bad news, the good news is that Dusty is pregnant, that’s great news, said Mr. Simpson, that’s what you’ve been up to lately girl, giving her a slight pat on the head, and the bad news, said Mr. Simpson a note of concern in his voice, nothing to bad it’s just in her current condition to much strain can damage her pups so she can’t for at least six to eight month pull the slay, she needs plenty of food and rest so she and her brood can be as healthy possible, OK ,said Mr. Simpson he turned Dusty on the examining table and rubbed her belly soothing the young husky, looks like your out of the job for a few months he said with a smile, he carefully lifted Dusty off the table and put her on the ground, Mr. Simpson took Dusty straight home and told her owner’s what happened to her they both smiled and look at Dusty with kindness in their eye’s, come on Dusty your staying in our boiler room for now and thanks for the great news Mr. Simpson, no problem and with that he left, Dusty’s owner’s put her in their boiler room so she could sleep nice and warm at night. The next morning Kodi came running over to Dusty’s place to check on her ,how are you doing, Kodi said when he got there, I’m fine she said, so who replaced me on the team, she said with a slight smile, a dog called Jingle, she’s fairly good, but not as good as you are, he finished with a smile, I have to run  now so we can deliver the mail I’ll see you later and he left, that night while Dusty was sleeping she heard a kind sweet voice, hello Dusty, Dusty woke up in an insensate and saw to her horror a pure white wolf standing at the door, at that point her new mother instincts kicked in and she bared her teeth and began to growl, the white wolf smiled and said there’s no need to show your teeth I mean you no harm Dusty, said the white wolf, what to want and how to you now my name, she said with a growl, I just came here to offer my condolence and I know you name because I am the mother and sprite guardian of my only son Balto, your Balto’s mother Aniu, yes I am, said Aniu in her kind voice I will see you again soon, and with that Aniu turned and ran away into the night, Dusty laid her head back on her billow and was soon fast a sleep again morning came and Dusty woke up, after she had just finished her breakfast Kodi came bounding in, how are you doing Dusty, just fine, she replied, Kodi left and on his way out he ran in to Dingo, their noise’s touched, um good morning Kodi he said in a nervous voice I had come to see how Dusty is going, she’s fine and I’m glad Drew was put in to the her owner’s boiler room to, said Dingo sudden, that night Kodi was on the porch of the house thinking about Dusty when he saw his mom coming out alone from the wood’s Kodi thought why was she out alone as he went in for bed, Jenna had just been out killing a rabbit, for some reason she could not explain she had gotten a lust for blood that she could not shake no matter how hard she tried. The next morning was good Kodi Dusty’s time was getting closer and closer, but Drew’s time was still far off, Kodi had to go on a mail run that would keep him out of Nome for a week he said good bye to his mom and dad and of course Dusty, after he left everything seemed fine but soon all would not be fine, it was night and Drew was sleeping in her bed that Sarabi had put out for her, when out of no where Jet leapt at her a grabbed her by the throat Drew woke up in an instant and managed to brake his strong grip she back away her ears down and her teeth bared, what are the hell are you doing she yelled at Jet said nothing and merrily walked slowly toward Drew, I’m warning you don’t come any closer, said Drew Jet just laughed, like you can stop me poor Jenna would of died in my jaws if I had not seen Balto and Kodi coming so I left her for dead but she lived but you won’t, said Jet and yet again he leapt at Drew she dodged him and ran to the open door and let out a howl for help, no, said Jet and he grabbed her back a flung her against the boiler. Drew let out a howl of pain and blacked out, just as Drew hit the boiler Sarabi and her parent’s along with Dingo had run to the boiler room the sight that me Dingo’s eye’s made him swell with uncontrollable rage, as Jet advanced toward Drew Dingo leapt at Jet and started to literally rip him apart Balto and Jenna had heard the call and went running toward Drew’s house when they got there they saw Sarabi bent over Drew crying and they saw her parent’s who were trying to restrain Dingo and Jet, Balto and Jenna leapt forward and after a few moments managed to restrain Dingo from Jet who had all four legs broken and a few ribs, Dingo shouted at Jet, you monster I should rip you apart let go mom dad, said Dingo with a growl, no son, said Balto, not until toy come yourself down, no, said Dingo, let me go so I can kill him, oh Dingo, said Jenna, the town was woken up Jet was muzzled and taken away Drew was taken to the vet Dingo was sedated to come him down Balto went to see his son when he was better, how are you doing, he said in a concerned voice, fine Dingo replied, but if I ever, ever see Jet again I’ll kill him where he stands no matter what happens to me, he finished growling slightly, that’s not up to you to do his fate will be decided by the whole town, said Balto, which was true later that night all of the dogs met, Ralph said, he should be run out of town to what he did to poor Drew, he should be dipped in tar and burned, said Kirby, silence, said Spike Drake’s only child and who took up the place as law dog, we should ask Drew what happened before we make a decision Drew will you please tell us what happened to you, Spike said in kind voice, Drew shuddered and then began to speak, I was sleeping , when out of know where I feel this crushing pain on my neck I woke up in an instant and-and, she finished her story all the while Dingo growling quietly, this is a big problem first Jenna then you Drew and if what you say is true then Jet was planning to kill you and Jenna, Jenna do you have any thing you’d like to say, n-no Jenna said in a shaky voice, very well, Balto do you have anything you’d like to say, only this if Jet ever attacks my family or Drew, and Dusty I will kill him myself, Balto finished in steady threaten voice, and Dingo to you have anything to say, yes I do and that is whatever is sentence is I want to be the one who gives it to him, he finished in a growl, thank you said Spike, now the law state’s that any attack on a pregnant dog is to be put to death as soon as possible and also if he wants to the father can be the one to do it, finished Spike, Dingo said immediately with a grin, I’d love to do it, so be it, said Spike, unless anyone has anything else to add we are done here, no one said a word, very well when Jet is released by his owner his fate shall be dealt with, till then you are free to leave, and the dog’s dispersed for the night, Dingo went home smiling in just a few days Jet will die in my jaw’s he laughed to himself, the next day Kodi woke up and Balto told him what was to be done with Jet, Kodi said well I feel sorry for him because I know that Dingo will  kill him as slowly as possible, the reason why Kodi was not at the meeting was he was very tired and wanted to get some sleep so asked his dad to tell him what happened at the meeting, a few days past until the day came the when Jet would finally die, as soon as Jet was released a bunch of dogs surrounded him and led him out of town where Dingo and half the town dog’s were waiting, Jet said Spike you have committed a crime that must be punished and that punishment is death now before the punishment is carried out do you have anything to say, no said jet in a steady voice, very well, said Spike, Dingo you may begin when you are ready, Dingo took a few steps toward Jet, this is for Drew, he said and with that Dingo leapt at Jet first Dingo grabbed Jet’s leg and bit in to it hard Jet leaned forward as if to strike but before he could Dingo let go and in one swift motion was a Jet’s back Dingo bit as hard as he could into Jet’s back Jet let out a bark of pain and turned to attack Dingo but Dingo dodge the attack again and this time went for Jet’s left flank this kept up for over an hour until Dingo said, now Jet you die, and with that Dingo leapt a grabbed Jet’s throat , Jet found he did not have the strength to resist and he felt himself grow weaker as more of his blood soaked the ground, Dingo could also feel Jet weaken but he was determined not to let Jet die in peace so with all the strength he could muster he turned his head away from Jet his teeth still clamped firmly on him as Dingo turned away he felt some skin and meat come with him, he turned back around to see a hole in Jet’s dead throat he had ripped out Jet’s throat Dingo dropped the meat and licked his teeth tasting blood that for some reason tasted really good to him, it is done, said Spike and with that they all left the scene and went home, the first thing Dingo did when he got back into Nome was he went to see Drew when he got there he found her resting her head on a billow, well, said Drew, Jet will no longer be hurting us or anyone ever again, that’s good, said Drew, and I’m fine, she said before Dingo could ask, I’ll see you later, and with a quick kiss he left, Dusty was so close to her time that every night Kodi was sleeping on the porch in case Dusty needed him in any way, one night Dusty was a sleep when all of a sudden a terrible pain went through her whole body that it woke her up it was her time at last.
