Balto ran through the forest at top speed. Tears formed in his eyes as he heard his mother's finnal howl and the sound of the bear's mighty roar. Balto stopped and looked back when he reached the end of the forest. He listened hard for signs of his mother. Howling, he hoped that his mother or clan would here his call and answer it. He waited several minuets before howling again. Part of him knew his mother was dead and that it was likly that his clan had moved on to a safter place. Balto laid in the snow with his body twards the woods and started to cried himself to sleep, wishing he'd never been so careless as to walk out of the den and then play dead when the bear came by. "Oh mama, I hope your in a better place now. I promise you that bear will be killed some day and that my sibblings and our clan will some day reunite no matter how long it takes,"he said as he was falling asleep.
When Balto awoke, water was being splashed in his face and an orange bandana that smelled oddly like his mother was around his neck. Balto jumped up and growled loudly at the Russian snow goose in front of him,"Who are you? How dare you wake the son of Aniu the white wolf in such a rude maner!" The goose stepped back."Cool it kiddo, Boris means you no harm, was seeing you out by forest freezing to death and desided I couldn't let you die and Iam bring you here to Boris's boat and putting bandana that was laying beside you around you to keep you warm," Balto stopped growling and looked around. He saw that the boat was every old, broken, but some how managed to be sterdy.Balto sighed and walked to the captian's den where a soft-looking baby blue blanket lay next to an orange cat-toy and a bowl, he sniffed the iteams as the goose watched him. "I know it's not much, have been gone back to home town in Russia for bout a year now, but, is what Boris calls home," Said Boris as he grabed a mop and started cleaning up. Balto sniffed around the whole boat as though he were looking for something or someone, Boris watched the young pup and woundered himself, what the pup was looking for."So kido, you got a name?" Boris said suddenly, Balto looked up at him quickly then put his nose back to the ground,"Balto," he said quietly as he walked the plank, lifted his head, and piered out at the town. "Boris, what's that?" Balto said, his eyes foced on the town,Boris walked up behind him and looked, "That, young canine, is a town called Nome," Balto cocked his head to the side at the sound of the word Town,"Boris what's a town?" Balto asked as he walked off the boat and into the snow, twards the town. "A town is place where people and animals are living and thriving," "Oh," Balto said as he trotted onward.
When they got to the town,Balto had just finished telling Boris about his clan and how he wound up in the snow. Boris listend but couldn't help wounder about Balto's dad and why the young halfbreed looked so fimiler to him,"My mom was an artic wolf, my father an alaskan husky. As my mom used to tell me,dad looked just like me except he was bi-eyed and had scars from the many dog fights he'd had, she says he died in the snow storm we had a ways back," Boris sighed, "So you are being an orphan? Your mother is being killed by bear and your father by snow," Balto shook his head sadly and looked around at all the humans and many dogs which past them. Balto's ears laid down when he heard growling behind him, he and Boris turned to see a young all black husky with his ears and tail down, his teeth bared, and eyes fixed on Balto. "Look here wolf, I don't know what the hell your doing here but, if you don't leave my town right this minute, your dead you hear me?!" the husky growled. Balto growled at the challenger and the fur on his back roze, "I'm a wolf/dog firstly and secoundly, if you ask me I have every right to be here as everyone eles," Barked Balto. The husky growled again and lunged at Balto who did the same.
The two landed on their hind legs, scratching and biting each other then suddenly, there was a flash of black and white that knocked down the husky and stood between them growling. Balto fell and slid back a few inches in the snow.He watched as the new dog stood over the husky with it's teeth bared and growling, "Rob, what the hell is your problem?! Every new dog that comes to town you attack!" "Steel I'm sorry but-" "Listen do it one more time and I'll see to it you never see Nome again," Steel said with a growl. The husky called Rob got up slowly and ran with his tail between his legs. Steel snorted at him and turned his attention to Balto and Boris. He walked up to them and wagged his tail, Balto did the same, "Sorry about Rob he does that to everyone who comes here," "It's alright, names Balto I live not far from the town," "I'm Steel, nice meeting you Balto, if your ever in trouble you call me, I live in the black house near the middle of town and when I'm not training I'll be glade to lend you a paw," "Thanks Steel, umm training to be what?" "To be a sled dog, I'm going to be the fastest around like my father was," Balto looked at the dogs hooked up to the sled and running not far from where he,Steel and Boris where. "Think I could be one aswell?" Steel looked at Balto's body and legs for a moment then nodded, "You have the build for it, but the problem is your a stray, if you had a musher then you could be apart of a team," "Well what if I could join your team?" "My musher might let you join, I'm not sure we could see," Balto opened his mouth to speak but was interupted by Boris, "No no thankyou young pup we are being very busy and must being going now," Boris said, pushing Balto back twards the outskirts of town. Steel looked curiosly at this, "Umm....alright but, when you return if you'd like to join my team just come see me and I'll take you to my owner," Balto looked back and slowly nodded as the goose contiued to push him.
When they got back to the boat, Balto laid down and sighed. "Why couldn't I go with Steel Boris? He was nice," Boris sat beside him, "Because, he was not as plesant as he may have seemed," "Funny he smelt, alright to me Boris," Balto said sounding a little annoied. Boris sighed and looked at the young pup,"Just because he smells nice doesn't mean he was," Balto looked at Boris and frowned, "You know Boris your not my father just because you've saved my life doesn't make you my offical gardian," he growled. Boris leaned back, "This Iam knowing it's just Iam knowing also that you are being to young to fend for self," Balto's ears twitched and he stood at this, "I'll have you know that I not only know how to hunt but I've been in my fair fights in my year of living, just cause when that bear killed my mom, my sibblings and I were still living together means nothing!" Balto barked. Boris gulped hard and backed up at the angry pup,"Fine Iam not needing this agrivation if you are wanting to go then go if you do not need my help," he said, his voice sounding shaky.Balto growled again,"Fine I'll leave, I'll go find Steel, least he's a better friend then you!" Balto said. He snorted and left the boat mumbling to himself and headed twards town.
Boris dropped his wings to his side and sighed. He knew the musher wouldn't except him because of the fact he looked so much like a wolf. He laid down, closed his eyes and woundered if he should go after the pup or let him learn on his own.Suddenly a bright light showed in front of his eyes and he felt a strong arctic breez all around him.As the light faded Boris, opened his eyes to the sight of two figures, one wolf and one dog, standing in front of him. Boris mouth dropped open at the sight of his old friend and his friend's mate, "Max your....are you...?" Max nodded, "Yep, we're dead, Aniu fought the bear till our son got close to the end of the forest, she lunged at it and got it good in the neck but she was very weak and with a finnail slash in the chest, she was killed however, the bear's still alive its weak now but it'll live and you already know what happened to me," Max said (that was for thoses of you who've read the story before this and woundered what happened with Aniu and the bear) Boris's mouth still hung open in disbeif, "But....how?" "My parents and my clan know of a way to renter this world but it can't be for very long, They taught me and I had to bring Max along which is a tireing trip for two," Aniu said. "Yea which reminds me, Ani when where done here take me to our clan I wanna have a few 'words' with Nava he was sapposed to look after you and the pups not fall in love with you," Aniu rolled her eyes, "We're here to tell you that you must find our son and bring him back, he is to be raised by you," Said Aniu, Max nodded, "But Boris is goose not babysiter how am I sapposed to raise wolf pup?" "Firstly our son is a hybrid, don't you forget that and secoundliy, we trust you, I've known since you came to this country Boris. You and I grew up together, remember every spring and summer you came we'd hangout," "But raising young and being young is different," said Boris, concern in his voice. Aniu sighed,"We could debet about this forever unfortunutly Max and I don't have that kind of time so look, since the goose isn't interested in caring for our little one then I'm sure someone eles would," Max snorted and walked up to Boris, his teeth bared and was growling slightly,"Listen Boris you owe me, over the years I've saved your life countless of times now it's your turn to repay me.Please take care of my son its not like im asking you take care of he and his other five sibblings, please just till your sure he can hold his own," Boris sighed and thought for a secound, he nodded his head slowly, "Alright I am to be doing it, how hard is it be taking care of a hybrid pup," Aniu and Max looked at each other for a minuet then back at boris. "Listen goose we've got to go now, I have to check up on my other pups and my clan so come Max lets get going," Aniu said turing around and started walking with Max not far behind, the wind picked up again as the two disapeared into the mist. Boris shook his head and sighed, woundering if all that he'd seen been real or not. He desided that he'd better go after Balto, and got off the boat and started twards town.
Balto reached the town in time to see Steel walking slowly twards his home. Balto approuched the young dog and nudged him softly on his shoulder, Steel looked up at him, "Oh hey Balto desided to come with me after all?" "Yea I'd love to be a sled-dog thing," "That's good, cause I think you and I could make a great team why we could even lead a team one day," Steel said, with a smile, Balto smiled back and walked with Steel twards his house. When they reached,Balto walked behind Steel with his ears down. Steel cocked his head and looked back at his friend, "What's wrong B?" "Nothing Steel just a little nervouse is all," Steel smiled, "It'll be fine your a great guy, and you seem like a fast runner what musher wouldn't want you?" Balto smiled and walked beside him, "Thanks Steel," Steel shook his head as the two of them walked to his house and whent through the doggy-door. After a few minuets of searching the house,Steel and Balto found the musher reading the paper in the kitchen and eating. Steel yipped to get the musher's attention and tugged Balto's scruff lightly, tward the man. Balto walked up to the strange two-legged creater with his ears and head down, the man looked at him and frowned, "Steel what have you brought me now another mutt from the street?" Steel whined as the man grabbed Balto and looked him over, lifting his lips up and peering at the hybrids teeth. He moaned as he let the pup back down and stared at him,"I'm not sure but your little friend looks to be part wolf, if your sure we can trust him I'll give him a chance but just one, if any dog in this town whineds up dead hes outta here you get me Steel?" Steel looked at Balto and growled playfuly and barked at his owner. The man smiled and rubbed Steel, "Alright lil....lil....Balto lets introduce you to the rest of the team then we'll get you saddled up and see how you do on the sled," Balto yipped and fallowed behind Steel and the musher as they headed outside.
The three of them walked to the backyard where
six other dogs around their age were running and playing. The musher walked up to them and all of them gathered around him, "Guys,Steel and I would like to introduce you to the newest member to team his names Balto, now you guys introduce yourselves and be nice," The musher said before walking back into the house. Balto sat next to Steel and introduced himself to the pups,"Hi I'm Balto, I'm a wolf/dog male and I'm looking forward to umm working with all of you," "Hi Balto I'm Star, this is Kaltag,Nikki,Tom,Runt and Shadow. I'm an alaskan husky, kaltag's a chinook/husky, Nikki's a Chow and Tom,Runt and Shadow are malamutes, and you already know Steeel, hes an alaskan malamute/husky," Said Star proudly. "It's nice meeting all of you I'm glade you all trust me, my mom told me that dogs didn't like wolves every much that my father was an exception of one but see she was mistaken," Said Balto sitting proudly and smiling. Steel sighed happily and jumped over the dogs, "If we're done with the introductions, let's race!" He yelled and the pups started running around the yard.
They ran till all but Steel and Balto where so tired they couldn't move. Steel and Balto wheren't the least bit tired and kept racing each other till Steel tripped and fell in the snow. Balto helped Steel back up to his feet and he sat down panting,"Wow....wolf/dog....you sure are....fast," Steel said between breaths. Balto sat next to him,"Well, when you in the wild you have to be fast if you wanna catch your prey," Balto said, puffing his chest out and sitting proudly. "Wow Balto your not even panting," Said Runt, "That's the most fanicinating, the most unbelevable, the most stupendous...." "That's unbelivable," said Star, cutting Kaltag off. Kaltag growled, hit star on the head and watched as he fell to the ground.Balto looked at Star, "Is he alright?" "He'll be fine Kaltag and Star always do that," Said Steel after he caught his breath. The musher walked out out after a few minuets with a large bag of food in his hands and put in a huge bowl which the dogs all ate from, "Eat up boys, in about an hour I'll saddle you guys up and we'll see how Balto does on the sled,"The musher said as he filled the other bowl with water and returned to the house. All seven of the dogs ran up to the bowls and ate and drank their fill, Balto walked slowly up it and sniffed the food, "It's kibble you eat it," Said Steel. Balto tried it, "Yuck what's this stuff made of it's disgusting!" Balto yelled backing away from it and going twards the water insted, "Well it's better then nothing,"Said Shadow.Balto rolled his eyes, drank his fill of the water, then laid down next to his new team mates for a nap.
Meanwhile Boris was having a bit of troble finding Balto, he'd been asking around but surpizingly noone had spotted him. Tired, Boris returned to the boat and laid down. With his eyes closed, he started to drifted off to sleep,"I'm being sorry Maxie, mabe after a alittle rest Boris will find or better pup might change mind and is coming back home," Boris said as he fell off to sleep.
After the nap, the team was hooked up to the sled with Balto and Steel in lead. The feel of the harness was uncomfortable and Balto didn't like it one bit. Balto growled quitly and nipped at the harness as the musher hopped on the sled, "Balto calm down you'll get used to the feel of it, at least your not in back," Said Steel as he tryed to make Balto relax. "Alright boys lets lets show our little hybrid how ta run now mush!" Yelled the musher. "That means go Balto he wants us to run," Said Steel. Balto nodded and took off long side Steel, he growled as he felt a little held back. Steel rolled his eyes, "This thing must be killing you huh wolf pup?" "Yes, I can run much faster then this, this stupid thing is holding me back," "Hah you get used to it soon you'll be able to run faster," Balto rolled his eyes. He smiled as the team left the town and a burst of strength surged threw him and he started running tward the forest. "Hey slow down there guys, yous guys are pulling us," Said Nikki. "It's not me, Balto slow down I thought you weren't used to the sled yet!" Steel said as he sped up trying to keep up with Balto. The team blew past Boris's boat and bounded for the forest.
Boris was awaken by the sudden wind and looked to see a team with a very familier wolf/dog in the lead. Boris took off tward the team as Balto seemed to practily fly himself. So, flying at top speed, Boris caught up with the team's lead dogs but had trouble staying there, "Balto! Stop Balto!" Boris yelled, "Boris? What are you doing here?" Balto asked not bothering to slow down. Boris's breathing became havier as his heart pounded, "Slow down, Boris goose no eagle!" "Boris I can't the forest is to close I can smell it," Suddenly,Balto felt a tug from his harness, then something bit into his back paw and knock him down. Balto arose, teeth bared and snarling at Steel who growled in return,"The musher said stop! your dragging us! Whats the matter with you have you lost it?!" "Me lost it? Your the one who attacked me!" "Beacause you weren't listening to the musher!" "Forgive me if my hearing isn't so good but, you still have no reason to attack me!" Steel growled loudly and Balto did the same. Just as the two got ready to tear into each other, the musher walked up and took the harness off Balto, "I told you boy with me, you get one chance wolf/dog now your a fast runner and I understand that Steel can be a tad overbaring at times. I did see him bite you which is why your not being cut from the team. Insted you'll be trained with me one on one till you get the feel of the sled, the rest of the team will finish this run then I'll come back for you now till then I want you to go home ya hear me?" Balto wagged his tail and the musher rubbed him on his head and returned to the sled. Balto sat and watched them till they disapeared then turned back twards Nome with Boris at his side.
The two reached the musher's home and Balto laid in the snow covered ground in the backyard and sighed. "What do you want Boris?" Balto said annoied, "Boris here to tell you, Iam seeing vision from parents of you telling me to care for you," Balto sighed again, "I'm not coming with you, that's not my home and your not my father," "Iam not trying to be father to anyone, Iam just trying to be helping you," "You can help me by leaving me alone! I don't need your help Boris I'm my own wolf/dog alright?! Leave!" Balto stood up, growling and started chasing Boris around the backyard till he took flight and left. After he was gone, Balto snorted and laid back down, closing his eyes, he let his mind wounder back to his clan. His mom laid by the den still breathing and every much alive, watching her pups play. He laughed as he snuck up behind her and landed on her side and she gasped, acting surpised as always. He licked his mom as she rose to her feet and smiled down at him, "I love you mom," He said quietly, "My child, hum, you are ment for far more greatness and soon you will see what I mean. Never forget your heritage and that you are from the wild, you where born in the forest and so it is where your soul will always belong. Your father and I will always be watching and will always love you. When the time comes you will see us both again till then, the first journy you take will show you where your new home lies," She said as a tear came down her face. Balto licked it away and noticed that his sibblings where no longer with them. He frown as he looked at the place in the snow where his sibblings once were. Balto turned back to see his mother walking slowly into the forest,Balto cocked his head to the side and tried to fallow his mother as she started running but, found it hard to keep up with her. It seemed that the faster he ran,the father his mother got. "Mom....wait....!" Balto yelled as he panted, unfortnutly, the white wolf didn't listen and continued running through the forest. Balto fallowed till his legs felt they would give and had to sit down, panting, he watched as his mother continued running, "Come back! Mom! Please come back! Mom please! Come back," Balto laid down in the grass, closed his eyes and cried.
Balto awoke to the sound of a gental voice. His ears perked up and he slowly opened his eyes to see a royle red and snow white female with a look of concern in her soft hazle eyes. Balto lifted his head from his paws, "Huh?" He asked the female, "I was asking if you were alright I heard a dog back here crying and came to make sure they weren't in danger and found you. Are you ok? You sounded sad," Said the female, still looking concerned.Balto yawned,"I'm fine just....dreaming," The female sat down in front of him and smiled slightly, "You where crying for your mom, did something happen to her?" Balto got up,shook off, and sat down infront of the female, "She umm ahem she died a few days ago," Balto said quietly the dog looked sad, "I'm sorry, I know how you feel, on the way here a few months back, my mom and dad's sled dog team were attacked by a large bear, there where I was the only servivoir by luck," The dog sighed at the memory, Balto slid up to her and nuzzled her. "My mom died the same way, she died saving me, if I hadn't ventured out of the cave it wouldn't have taken me and she'd still be here," Balto said as a tear rolled down his face. "My mom used to tell me that, sometimes things can't be prevented. That there is always a time for accidents but no matter what everyone goes when its their time and never before. What I'm saying is, your mother's death isn't your fult like the death of my parents and their team isn't mine," Said the dog as she nuzzled him back. Balto smiled and looked down at the dog, he noticed she looked, what Balto could only define as cute. "Um hey miss I'm sorry, what's your name?" The husky laughed in embaressmant,"I'm so sorry,my names Jenna,I'm a siberian husky and umm kinda new here and you?" "Names Balto, I'm an Arctic wolf/Alaskan husky mixed, I'm new to Nome myself," Jenna gasped,"Your part wolf?" "Yea my mom was a wolf, is that a problem?" "No....not really, just, my dad told me never trust wolves that their blood thursty killers," Balto frowned "That's not true, if anything wolves are more reliable then dogs," "Calm down, I didn't say I had anything against wolves, till you I've never met anyone whos even related to them," Balto sighed, "I'm sorry Jenna just, my life hasn't been the best since she died and I got seperated from my clan," Jenna looked into his amber eyes, "You miss them dont you? your clan I mean?" "Every much so," "Why don't you go back?" "By now they've moved on I might never see them again," "If you try I bet you could find them," Balto sighed again and looked at the ground,"I don't know Jenna," "Come on, I'll come with you," Balto looked at her and smiled, "We've only known each other for like five minuets," Jenna laughed, "At the moment I'm in between homes, so I take care of myself most days, if anything I should know who to trust," Balto rolled his eyes and laughed, "The musher's gonna be back soon," he said. Jenna looked at him, "So? Since when does a wolf run on a sled anyway?" Balto laughed again and started walking out the yard with Jenna not far behind him.
They reached the forest and Balto put his nose to the ground and began to sniff."So Balto what's it like being in a clan?" Jenna asked as they slowly walked, "It's....different then living around humans, there are rules to be obyed that cannot be broken ever!" Balto said, still sniffing. Jenna looked curiously at the creater she knew as her new friend, she watched his movment and looked at his thin, yet majestic build and thought to herself that he seemed a tad cute for a hybrid. Balto stopped suddenly and kept his nose on one spot in the ground, Jenna walked up next to him,"What is it?" She asked quietly, "Blood," he answered in the same tone.He sniffed the trail and soon saw massive amounts of blood stained snow,"I wounder who could have done this?" Jenna said as her eyes fallowed the blood trail. "I'm not sure but I hope...."Balto trailed off as he saw the body of wolf in the snow. "Hope what Balto?" Jenna asked as she walked up beside him. Balto said nothing as, his eyes filled with tears at the sight of a massive white wolf laying not far from the blood in the snow."Oh my god," Jenna said quietly as Balto walked up to the body which once held his mother's life. He laid down beside his now dead mother, put her paw around himself and saw the huge gash which ended her life, sobbing he spoke softly to her, "I'm so sorry mom, I shouldn't have left the den, it's my fult your laying here insted of back home with the rest of our family. I wish....I wish you were still here mom. I miss playing with you, remember how you taught us to hunt and fight? I made a few friends mom but I still miss our clan. Heh you were right you know? Geese are annoying little pest. Oh mom I wish you'd get up and lead us back home," Jenna laid beside him and licked the tears from his eyes,"She's your mom?" Balto nodded, "She's every beautiful," Balto wipped his face with paw and laughed alittle, "Mom used to say that the only reason dad wanted to have pups with her was because she was the only female around but, if you ask me it was because she was the most beautiful wolf in all of Nome," he sobbed again and Jenna placed a paw on on his head and let him sink his head into her chest, filling it with tears. Jenna sighed,"Everything will be alright Balto, I promise," She whispered, not noticing the pair of glowing, yellow eyes watching them from a far.
Jenna woke to the sound of digging. Stretching, she got up and looked around for Balto. She smiled and walked over to him as he finished covering over his mother's remains, "How long where you up?" She asked, "Not long, thought my mom deserved a proper placement, this may not be my clan's land but at one time it was my mother's" Balto said, evening out the lump of dirt and snow that was now the last resting place of his mother. He sighed as he finished and looked at his work, "Think mom would be proud?" Jenna smiled, "Of cores she would, why wouldn't she?" Balto's ears sunk, his eyes closed and his head whent down,"Because I'm living with humans,"He said as a tear rolled down his cheek and hit the floor. Jenna nuzzled his chin and, after a while, Balto moved back and smiled,"Thanks Jen," Balto said,"We should keep moving before...." Balto trailed off again as a familer sent filled his nose, "Jenna run!" he yelled as a loud rour filled the air. Balto growled loudly and bared his teeth as the sound of heavy foot steps filled the air, Jenna took a few steps back,"Balto have you ever even fought a bear before?" "I'll find out how to kill one today," he said as the bear showed itself, snarling with scars around its body. Balto growled louder,"You! You killed my mother and many of my clan, for that you will pay!" Balto said before lunging at the bear and biting its neck.Jenna growled and lunged, landing on the bear's stomache and sinking her teeth deep into it. The bear roared in agony and swiped at them, barely missing Jenna. Both Balto and Jenna tore open and rescatched many old and unheld wounds on the bears body, tearing deeper into each wound and causing more and more pain for it. The bear got a lucky shot and shook the pups off him as each hit the ground, the bear droped to all fours and started to run as the blood ran down much of it's body. Balto got up snarling, "You shall not leave, you've caused to much pain and suffering to my clan as well as others!" He yelled.Letting out a powerful battle howl helunged again and land on the bear's back and sank his teeth as deep as he could into his neck. The bear roared and started to run but, Jenna ran ahead and blocked its way. Snarling, she lunged at the bear once more and in return, the bear raised it's paw and hit her, missing most of her body, she flew into a tree and fell. Balto saw this and became enraged thinking of how he'd found his mother in the snow, the wolf half of him took over fully and he jumped off the bear. Snarling, he walked twards the bear and, douging it's attacks he slipped under the bear and tore into it's neck, hiting its gugular and causing the bear to die a slow painful death.
Panting, Balto walked over to the royle red and snow white female husky that Balto had come to know as his friend. He sniffed her, motionless body and licked the blood off her. Balto sighed, "Guess I'm a lone wolf/dog," he laughed quietly to himself and was surpized to see Jenna move. He put his head down next to hers and and watched as her eyes slowly opened.Balto licked her nose as Jenna lefted her head, "Balto I....wheres the bear?" "I finished it off after it hit you," he said, moving from infront of her and let her see what was left of the bear. She gasped and looked from the bear to Balto, his mouth and front paws were stained with blood. Balto cocked his head,"Something wrong Jenna?" Jenna shook her head,"We....we....we....killed a bear and lived to tell the tale," she said. Balto smiled proudly and helped Jenna to her paws. She sighed as looked at the now very dead bear,"Balto I don't think we should leave it there like that I mean it doesn't seem right," "Don't worry Jen, somone will probly eat it," "No one ate your mother and her body's been out here longer then the bears," Balto growled at this comment and Jenna backed up a few inches. "My mother, was the leader of a great clan, in her years of living she's inspired many and raised a great army. She's even won the hearts of both wolf and dog as well as the respect. The only thing she wanted in this life was to never be alone again she didn't desever to die the way she did. Any respectful canine would do the same thing as I," Balto said sturnly. Jenna's ears dropped,"Im sorry Balto I didn't mean it the way it came out," Balto sighed and tugged at the bear's back paw, "Come on we can....drop this thing in a near by lake or something," he said as Jenna walked up to the other paw to help him drag it.
Jenna and Balto walked for what seemed like hours through the forest till they came near the enterence of Balto's old territory. Lifting his head, Balto howled long and strong, annoncing his pressence. He and Jenna both waited a long moment but heard no responce so, they desided to check the now deserted, territory out. "Jenna walk with me incase a new clan is here they will attack all unknown creatures," Jenna nodded and walked closer to Balto. He blushed a little as she brushed up against him but, tried his best to stop. Jenna saw him and giggled, "What's so funny," Balto asked as he put his head to the ground and sniffed,"Oh....nothing," she giggled again. Balto smiled and continued walking slowly around the grounds sniffing for his fellow clan-mates. "So, how deep into the forest does your clan's turff expand to?" Jenna asked after a while, Balto looked up at her with his eyes and was silent for a long moment before answering her question, "My mom said that our clan's home streetches from thoses trees, to the end of this montain, our dens where many, our worriers proud, our sentries had the keenest of eyes, and our hunters refused to come home without food," "Sounds like a great clan," "That it was, you'd have loved it, we excepted all thoses in need and welcomed them with open arms," Balto said proudly. Jenna smiled, the more she got to know Balto, the more comfortable she felt around him.
Balto lifted his head and sniffed the air,"Storms on the way we should take cover," he said. Jenna nodded and Balto led them to his old den.Smiling, he watched as Jenna looked and sniffed around,"So this is your old place?" "Yep home....sweet home minus the family,"Balto said and laughed weakly. Jenna smiled and sat, letting her eyes wounder for a moment, Balto felt his stomache growl and figure he'd go hunt before the storm. "Hey Jenna I'll be right back I should get us some food incase we get hungry," "Alright, I'll come with," "No Jenna someone needs to gard the den," "But how will I be able ta deffend it?" Balto leaned his muzzle to hers and looked her in the eyes,"Your kidding? We just fought off a huge bear a couple of wolves should be nothing," he laughed,Jenna pushed him softly, "Correction YOU killed a bear I was knocked out remember?" Balto growled playfully at her, "Fine I'll leave my scent so everyone knows it and everything in it is mine alright?" Jenna rolled her eyes and Balto thought about what he'd just said, "You know what I mean," he growled softly. "Just don't be long and be carefull," Jenna said as Balto turned to leave. "Yes mother,"Balto joked as he headed out the cave to mark it.
After marking the den, Balto set out hunting on the same path his father took over a year ago. He'd been out only 15minuets when he spotted a baby carribu, antlers not yet grown in, it'd be easy prey and enough to last Balto and Jenna at least a week. Balto licked his lips as he crouched down and stalked it closly. Balto looked all around him and sniffed the air, making sure no others where with it as he crept at pouncing distance to it.He shifted his weight and growled rather louldy as he lounged into the air, landing on it's back. The young carribu bucked and screamed as Balto's jaws sank deep into it's neck, slowly ending its life. The yellow in Balto's eyes turned a light orange as his prey slowed down and blood filled his mouth. It laid limp on the ground after what felt like hours of fight, Balto grabed its neck in his jaws and dragged it back to the den.
By the time he got there it had began to snow and the wind blew hard. Balto put the carribu down and howled before entering,Jenna walked to the enterence and had a puzzled look on her face, "It's to show respect for our opiset gender, at least that's what mom always said," Balto answered. Jenna staid quiet, "I brought a young carribu it's not much but it'll last us at least a week if we have to stay here," Said Balto before he picked it up and dragged it inside. Balto laid it near the middle of the den and Jenna sniffed it, "It smells....bad," she said, "Well....it's a fresh caught dead animal you want it to smell like flowers?" Jenna frowned and took a bite out it,"It's not....so bad," she said. Balto smiled and started eating at it with Jenna, "The storms gonna be a big one we might be trapped here a while, you sure you don't wanna head back to Nome?" Balto said after a few bites. Jenna swallowed the meat that was in her mouth and looked into Balto's eyes,"We've gone this far and I know you'd rather be with your clan then with a bunch of stupid house dogs," Jenna said with a laugh.Balto smiled,"Well....I don't know Jen not all dogs are stupid," "Right I forgot your father, what happened to him anyway?" Jenna asked as she took another bite of the meat. Balto walked away from Jenna and the carribu and stared at the growing storm,he sighed remembering his mother's words, "Mom told me that my father froze to death in a storm doing something that not many dogs would do for a wolf, he died trying to find us food. She said he tried his best to bring all of the hunting party home but they were either shot or froze durring the night. The way she talked about him made him seem like such a great guy, I wish I could remember him," Said as he choked back tears. Jenna walked up to him with sympathy in her eyes, she put her head under his and the two of them closed their eyes and tears slid down Balto's eyes. "Your parents sound so noble Balto,I'd kill to have anyone in my life like that," She said smiling.
Balto awoke curled against Jenna's warm body.He smiled and got up slowly, trying not to wake her, he looked out at the storm and sighed. It had been four days since his mother's death and since he'd entered Nome. He was begining to think that this quest was pointless, that the more days that past was another day his clan would move till they found a proper place to call home. Suddenly Jenna appeared beside him with a smile on her face, "Good morrning Balto," Balto smiled but kept his eyes on the storm. He and Jenna had gotten very close in the past days and he grew to like her alot more then a friend should but, he often woundered, had she felt the same way? She had always comforted him and often never wanted to leave his side but neither had his younger sister Aroura growing up, she was his shadow. This was different, Jenna wasn't family in the since that he and she had different reletives. Jenna looked into Balto's eyes and smiled, "Something wrong you seem distracted," She asked after a while. Balto shifted his weight from one side to the other and cleared his throat and mind of the thoughts, "It's....it's nothing Jenna I'm fine," Jenna scowled and Balto closed his eyes and turned his head but could still feel the sting from Jenna's eyes, burning into him. "Alright, alright stop giving me that look, I'll tell you. Look, after the storm is over I'm going back to Nome," Jenna's scowl turned into confustion, "I don't understand thought you wanted to rejoin your clan now your saying you wanna go back to Nome why?" Balto looked her in the eyes in a way that made Jenna feel as though he was looking through her insted of at her, "The day you found me a sleep, I had a dream my mother was alive. She said something to me that, untill today I didn't understand. That I'd go on a journey and realize where my new home should be. I know now she ment for me to stay in Nome I mean why eles would I have wound up there and made friends like Steel, the sled dog team and....you," Balto said, blushing, he tried his best to hide it but, Jenna noticed and laughed quietly. "I understand Balto, if you feel have to go back to Nome I'll be happy to come with you when the storm is past," Balto smiled, "That's great Jen,"
The storm was over about a week after they'd run out of food. They'd been reiling on the snow just outside the den for nurishment but, on the last day, they thought their lives would soon end and, had it not been for the for the storm finnaly ending allowing Balto and Jenna to leave,it would have been. Jenna trotted ahead happly while Balto trailed slightly behind, his eyes still forced on the den where he'd spent most of his life and all of his happiest moments in.He sighed as ran a ways to catch up to Jenna, leaving his past behind but, never forgetting it. "Hey Jenna you hungry?" Balto joked, Jenna laughed and nodded her head. Balto looked around and spotted a few snow hare not far from them, "Hey Jenna ever hunted before?" He whispered, "No why?" Balto pointed his snout to the two hare a few feet from them. Jenna looked at them then Balto, "Well up for a lesson?" "I....guess so, what do I have to do?" "Easy you creep up behind them and make sure the wind is blowing against your fur, when you get leaping distiance from them pounce, bite and hold till it's heart stops," "Oh Balto I don't think..." "Don't worry Jenna, it's all instinces, we've been in the wild for two weeks they should have taken over by now," Balto said interupting her. Jenna's ears dropped to the side and Balto sighed,"You really are a purebred dog ha ha ha, come girl, fallow my lead and be as quiet as you can," Balto said with a laugh. Jenna growled but fallowed Balto's lead as he crept with in leaping distance of the hares. He licked his lips and shifted his paws like a cat ready to pounce, "You go for the one on the left the one on the right has my name writtin all over it," Balto whispered and Jenna nodded. She growled slighly as Balto laid on the floor and Jenna did the same,"On three, One...two...three!" Balto yelled as they pounced on the hares and sunk their teeth deep into their necks.
After they finished their meal, they walked twards Nome, keeping a slow pace and glancing at each other every so often. "So have you thought about where your going to live when you get back to Nome?" Asked Jenna after a long moments silence. Balto thought for a secound, "I guess I could rejoin Steel's team I mean, you know what happened between Boris and I,I dought he'd take me back now," Balto said, putting his ears down. Jenna looked at him, "Well if the team doesn't take you, either, maybe you and I could try and get a home I mean theres a girl in town whos name is Rosy she seemed pretty nice," Jenna said, blushing, Balto smiled, "I'm not sure the pet life is fo me Jenna I mean I'd love to umm live with you but, my mom told me all about the leash-life, it just doesn't seem to be for me," Balto smiled weakly, woundering if he'd gave Jenna the impression he didn't like her, if anything he didnt want that. Jenna sighed and walked a little a head of Balto, who watched her, even at her age she was slender and walked with more grace then all of the dogs Balto had seen in his life, he smiled thinking of her beauti, "Mom would be proud I have someone like her in my life," He said to himself. "Did you say something Balto?" Jenna asked, hearing what he said and was blushing. "Hum, oh nothing Jenna, just....thinking out loud," Balto said.
The two had been walking a ways when the sound of rustling trees and branches snapping, made Balto stopped and sniffed the air, only to find nothing. "Jenna, come here lets....walk together," He said walking up to her, Jenna looked at him puzzled. "There's someone fallowing us, their behind us but, I'm not sure where exactly," Balto whispeared. Jenna nodded,"Can't you sniff them out?" she whispeared, "No, their up wind of us, lets just act cool and stay close its probly nothing," As the words left his muzzle a large dark figure lept in the air and landed on him. Balto pushed the creature and growled at it. A large black wolf, with eyes identical to that of his mother's, stood, fur brizzled and teeth bared, ready for attack, in front of he and Jenna. "Leave this place!" it yelled Balto lept for the wolf but landed face first in the snow for, the wolf was to quick and doudged the attack,"Go back to the place you belong half-bred!" It snarled again. Balto shook the snow from himself and laid in the snow, still growling and a bit confused. "What?!" Balto said panting. The wolf stood it's ground but, stopped growling and stood proudly, staring into Balto's eyes, causing the pup to shudder, the wolf looked at him the way his mom did when she spoke wize words to him. Balto stood as an artic wind sorrounded the three of them and the sound of a solitary wolf's howl filled the air. Balto stood close to Jenna, prepared for a suprise attack that never came, insted the wind died down and the wolf disipeared. Balto sighed, "That was strange," Said Jenna, as she continued their walk back to town Balto staied behind for a moment and looked at where the wolf had just been, "Tell me about it," he said to himself and ran to rejoin Jenna.
It was about anouther hour before the two reached Nome. When they did,Jenna walked Balto to Steel's home. "Hey wolf/dog I'll see ya around sometime I guess," Jenna said with a smile,Balto smiled back, "Does this mean I haven't seen the last of the great 'Jenna the wounder dog'?" Balto asked laughing. Jenna laughed, "Well I'm not sure about that Jenna, but, I know this Jenna would love to hangout with you, unfortnutly at the moment, I have a date with a young girl about a place to call home," Balto and Jenna shared a laugh and started to go their sepreat ways. As they did, Jenna turned around and called for Balto who turned just in time to get a kiss from Jenna. The two blushed and giggled, "Guess this means we'll be seeing alot more of each other," Balto said with a laugh, Jenna smiled and nuzzled Balto who did the same. They left again, with each of them feeling on top of the world. Balto walked to the back yard with the biggest of grins on his face, only to be greeted with a hard push to the ground. Balto got up and shook off, confused, he looked to see Steel in front of him, teeth bared. "Steel what the hell?" he said growling, Steel growled, "You've got some nereve commin back here after you abandoned us wolf/dog!" "Abandon? I did no such thing, Steel I whent to go find my clan and got trapped in a storm I hadda wait it out with this dog I met, Steel trust me I had every intention on comming back here," "Lier! You left us and because you did, Shadow has died in that storm!" "What....Steel....I...." "Shutup! You know your nothin but a little mutt and I your mother was nothing but, a little whore not to mention a digrace for birthing you!" Balto snarled and lunged at Steel who tried jumping back, but was to slow. Balto bit deep into the dog's back, ripping his shoulder, Steel howled in pain, but tried his best to rip into Balto's shoulder, only to find that Balto had releashed his grip and bit into his hind leg. Steel turned his head bit into Balto tail causing him to yelp and bleed.Steel whipped him around and threw him into the air, causing Balto to land hard on the ground. He jumped up quickly, teeth bared, Balto rushed into Steel who, got a lucky shot and tore into balto's shoulder. Balto scratched Steel's eye and Steel did the same to Balto. The fight lasted for, what seemed like hours with each, sending more powerful blows then the next. It finnaly stopped when, the sound of a gun filled the air. Both Balto and Steel looked to where the sound had come from, only to see that the musher was standing in the doorway, gun in his hand. "Balto! I don't know what the fuck the fights about and I don't damn well care right now. However I do know that if you don't get the fuck out of here in the next ten secounds I swear your lifless body will be laying on that ground," Said the musher rather sternly. Balto whimpered and silently, he slunk off the property, Steel grinning evily as he watched him.
Balto limped through town, whimpering slightly, he searched for Jenna. He knew that, at this point, she'd be the only one that would be kind enough to help him. He'd fallowed her scent twards the outskirts of town and was feeling a tad weak from the great loss of blood. He caughed and staggered as he walked and was glade when Jenna's scent finnaly stopped, "Why a house Jen? Why not a nice warm den?" he said to himself. Balto sighed, his history with humans so far wasn't exactly a good one but, being that Jenna was there he figured if she trusted the family, it had to be good. He lefted his head and let out a very dog-like howl as he reached the front door. Noises where made from inside the house and Balto panted and waited at the door, truthfuly not wanting to be touched at all. He knew if someone didn't help him that he'd die, "Jenna....please come....I need help," He whispered as he layed on the porch. Balto's pain decreased slowly and, as his eyes closed, he saw the shocked face of a little girl and her dog then all whent black.
Balto awoke a moment later in a beautiful forest sorrounded with grass and warm air. Balto felt slight bliss as he looked around at the few animals that where around. Suddenly a large white wolf walking beside a slightly smaller, greyish, brown husky, started for him. Balto wanted to growl but, some how couldn't, insted he stood there, a mixutre of confusion and happiness filled his heart. The wolf and dog both smiled, "Hello my son," said Aniu as she and Max sat in front of him. Balto licked his mother and nuzzled her, "Mom I'm so happy to see you again umm whos the dog?" Aniu laughed, "Don't tell me you don't reconize your own father?" Balto looked at Max for a moment, "Hello son, it's been along time," Balto licked his dad, "Tell me about it dad I hardly remember you," Balto said, putting his head down in shame, "It's alright my boy, all is forgiven, all that matters is that you and your sibbling are safe, sound and that never forget your heritage," "Why Max, I think that's the first time I've ever heard wizdom come out of that quick talking muzzle of yours," Max laughed, "Ugh your mother is soo mean," Balto laughed,"Umm....hey mom, dad, am I umm...." "Of cores not, your in a place called limbo, it's a halfway mark so to speak a vet is opporeating on you, you've lost a lot of blood from the fight," Said Aniu. Max laughed, "I can't belive you took on King's son and won, that's my boy alright!" Aniu hit her mate on the head with her paw, "Ow damn, excuse a father for being proud for his son fallowing his pawprints," "If I remember correctly the path you took wound you dead and me left to lead a clan and raise six pups alone!" Max whimpered, "I keep saying I'm sorry, heck I did leave ta go feed the clan," Aniu rolled her eyes. Balto laughed, "Wow dad's even better then you told us," Max stood proudly,"Well at least someone appretiates me," Aniu smacked him and laughed, "Alright my son, we actully need to tell you something important," Max growled playfully at his mate and made faces till she lifted her paw again. He then stopped and sat down, "Ahem, son your mother and I are tired of pussyfootin round this, we been leavin you the breadcrumms but some how you don't seem to pick them up, umm we want you to go and live with Boris on his boat," "Boris? But dad hes a goose, we eat geese not interact with them," Max looked an Aniu and growled, "That was your teaching Aniu," "Hey Max I just stated the way its sapposed ta be I don't want him whineding up playing with his food," Max rolled his eyes, "Look son that goose is about as close as a parent that you'll get at this point now, when you get out of the hospital, you go down to that busted up, wrickety, broke down old pice of...." "Um Max your babbling," Aniu interupted Balto laughed, "Alright I get it, wow where guys always like this?" "Not at first but after a while like a week yea," Answered Max. Aniu and Balto both laughed. "Mom, dad I promise you I'll go back to Boris's boat and beg his forgivness," Max and Aniu smiled, "That's my boy, now I'm afraid the three of us must go our sepreat ways, you'll be waking up soon," Said Max as he and Aniu both took turns nuzzling and licking Balto. Max sighed, "We'll always be with you son remember that," Max said, Aniu smiled,"You, my son will accomplesh many great things in your long life, no matter what anyone tells you remember, you were born in the wild, raised in the wild and your sprit will live on in the wild, never be a shamed of what you are," Aniu said. Balto nodded as tears started to fall from his eyes, as his parents slowly disapeared from veiw, Balto let out a long, low, sad howl and off in the distance, could hear his parents doing the same.
He awoke moments later on a big, cold, metal opperating table.Balto scanned the room with his eyes, it was filled with all sorts of medican and tools. Balto sighed and thought back to the recent events, it was hard to belive that what had just happened wasn't all just a nightmare. "Balto?" said a voice behind him. Balto twitched and turned it to see Jenna enter through the door, looking as beautiful as ever. Balto smiled, "Well aren't we looking beautiful?" Balto said, his voice still scratchy.Jenna smiled and put her front paws up on the table,Balto nuzzled her, "I whent to Rosey's place and she started playing with me, after about an hour she started begging her parents ta let them keep me and after thinking a bit they said yea," Balto smiled, "I'm glade you finnaly found a place where you belong," "Iam to" Jenna frowned and her gaze fell to the floor. "Jenna what's wrong?" "Nothing Balto....it's just....well....Balto, Rosey's family is moving to Ancroage and....their taking me with them," Balto sighed, "I don't wanna go Balto, I wanna stay here with you....Balto I love you," Jenna said with tears in her eyes. Balto licked the tears away,"Stop cring Jenna, it'll be alright, we'll see each other again some day I know it. As do the stars," Jenna cocked her head, she woundered what he ment by this comment. Balto licked Jenna's face gently and she closed her eyes and smiled. Tears fell down Balto's eyes as he continued to tenderly lick her, he sighed and wiped his eyes with his paw. "I don't wanna forget you Balto," Jenna said quietly, "You....you won't have to Jen, you can always have me in your heart as I will always have you in mine," Balto said as he slipped his bandana off and sighed,"Forgive me mother and father for what Iam about to do," Balto said lifting his head to the sky, Jenna looked at him again confused, Balto looked at her. "Jenna I'd like you to have this, I was running through the woods while my mother was fighting the bear and found it,I couldn't figure out why it smelled like my mother but, I put it on non-the-less, she was someone very close to me in life and I know she wouldn't mind that I give it to such a beautiful creature as you," Jenna blushed as Balto slipped the orange bandana around her neck."This dear Jenna is something to remember me by," He said with a smile, Jenna licked him and he laughed a little. "So....you never told me....how you got....hurt?" Jenna asked between licks."Well I was fighting Steel when, we heard a gun shot and saw the musher, he chased me off but not before I got Steel good," Balto said proudly, "Hum, so, what made you come to Roesy's home?" "I fallowed your scent because your the only one I trust," Jenna smiled, "It's a good thing to, we almost lost you Balto," All fell silent for a long while, "So when do you leave?" Balto asked, breaking the silence. Jenna sighed,"Tomorrow, I caught her just in time," Jenna said sighing.Balto smiled,"Then today is all ours,"
Balto and Jenna spent the day at the beach, wrestling, joking and talking. Both wished it couldn't end, but, knew it had to so, just before sunset, Balto took Jenna to the hill where he and his mother had spent many nights alone talking. Jenna watched as the colors danced in the sky, "Oh Balto, this is beautiful," "Yea, Beautiful," Balto said, looking at Jenna, who blushed when she noticed he was looking at her. The wind increased a bit as the temperature dropped with the setting sun. Balto saw the comming of the full moon and suddenly felt the need to howl. He rose his muzzle to the sky as felt and the moon rose to the night sky and, making his mouth into a perfect circle, he howled, long and loud, sounding exactly like a wolf. He closed his eyes, and embraced the wolf in him as the sound of a few nearby wolves joined him, Jenna could only listen as her would-be-mate's howl became stronger and somehow stood out from the rest. Their songs filled the artic sky for what seemed like hours and seemed to have a calming effect on the town of Nome as everyone was nestled in bed. "Beautiful," Was all Jenna could say as the songs ended, Balto smiled and sighed, "Today was the best day I've had in a long time and may ever have after you leave, I wanted to let you hear, what mom called, 'A wolf's most powerfull, and yet mysterious gift', I take you liked it?" Jenna nodded Balto took one last look at the stars and moon before getting up,"Moon's high in the sky, I should get you back home, you've a long trip tomorrow," He said. Jenna looked back up at the moon before rushing off along side Balto.
That night, the walk home was silent and peacfull. Jenna felt uneasy as her new home came into view, Balto stopped a few feet from the gate. Jenna looked at him, his face show no expression but, she could tell he was hurting, "Wish you could come with us Balto," Balto sighed, "You know I can't, humans and wolves don't exactly see eye ta eye you know that," Jenna nodded and started for home, "So long half-breed," she said quietly. Balto smiled, "So long house-dog," he said with a wink. Jenna laughed and crawled through the doggy-door, Balto sighed as he watched her disapear into the house. He let out a howl before heading to Boris's boat, "Welp time ta beg like the dog my father is," he said, looking twards the boat. As Balto started for the boat, he heard snow crunching and looked back, only to see a bandaged Steel, limping along and mumbling to himself. Balto laughed to himself as he watched the clumsy dog stagger and fall in the snow, "Poor Steel, wounder if should help him," Balto thought aloud as he watched the dog. He looked to the sky and smiled, "I know you'd want me to leave him dad," Balto said, still looking at the stars. Balto ran up to Steel and sat a few feet away in front of him in the snow, "Just getting out of the vets office Steel?" Steel snorted, pushed past him and fell in the snow again. Balto turned and began to help Steel up but, flinched when Steel growled at him, "I was just trying to help," "I think you've done enough half-breed," Steel said, still growling. Steel got up and continued walking twards home, Balto sighed and started for Boris's boat.
When he got there, he called for Boris several times but, heard no answer. He desided to walk up and see if Boris was still there. Balto walked up to the captian's den to see a sleeping Boris beside a half grown polor bear. Balto sighed and hit Boris lightly with his paw,"Boris....Boris please wake up," he whispeared. Boris groaned and opened one eye, "What is this?" He said sleepily. "We need to talk Boris, I....I need ta a place ta stay. Boris I.....I need you," Balto said, his eyes shining in the darkness as he tryed his best "sad face". Boris yawned and opened both eyes halfway, "Just few weeks ago you are telling me I should be getting lost and suddenly you now need me and Boris is sapposed to just be taking you back?" "Boris look, I'm sorry but, I was going through alot......I am going through alot, I mean I'm an orphan and a misfit, your the only one I can trust now Boris. Please help me,I need you," Boris sighed and looked back at the sleeping bear inside. "She is in, how you say, same boat as you, so to speak, think you and bear can get along?" Balto smiled, "Of corse we can,"he said happily. Boris yawned and made room for Balto as he laid between him and the sleeping bear.
The years that fallowed where filled with heart ache and hurt from the dogs of town. Balto's life he felt was meaningless and had it not been for Boris, Winter-Breeze(the polor bear),and her two sons Muck and Luk, he was sure to end it. Winter-Breeze besided that she should move into the forest after a while, to make room for Boris and Balto but, desided to allow her children to viset as often as they liked. Balto had almost completly forgotten about Jenna till she returned to Nome about three years later that is.Through all he's been through, Balto has never forgotten where he came from and never in his heart wished he was anything different then what he was even though he has thought it many times, he has been and always will be proud to have wolf running through his veins. As for Balto's sibblings, Not soon after Nava led the clan into the mountians, the remaining five hybrids seperated and became their own clan. With Lucas as Alpha, their clan grew and became one of the strongest in the land. Their goal is still to reunite with their brother and if she's still alive, their mother as well. They wish to add them to their clan and become a family again. Will they ever find their long lost brother and mother?Only time will tell.
