"Few people or dogs remember the start, they forget after time passes. But I do, I remember everything...

It was warm, and comfortable. I loved it, I felt safe, and loved. I wanted to stay there forever, but, fate wouldn't let me. I had a bad feeling and suddnely, I felt a tug and everything turned cold. I whimpered as hard as I could, and felt a familiar scent, it was sweet, and I remember having felt it's nuzzles before. I tried and looked for it and found fur, then I started to nurse, I was very hungry.

After a few days later, I smelled another scent from someone else, this one was wild, but, for some reason, I liked it. I crawled toward it, wanting to investigate, this smell, and nuzzle, was also familiar to me, although it was the first time I smelt it. When the smell was very strong, I received a lick, all I did was whimper, in a happy way.

Pretty soon after, when I opened my eyes, my mum, a black and white border collie / husky put my two older sisters and me in a big box with a sign outside. I was the runt. My dad, a brown and white wolf, the one with the wild scent, stood next to her depressed, my mum almost cried. A human came and grabbed both my sisters and took them away, I barked at him once he left and almost followed, if it wasn't for my human grabbing and putting me in the box, my dad left before that.

All day I stayed in the box, human pups rarely passed by, and when they did, they smiled at me while their mother took them by the hand and left. My mum said it was because I looked like my father, but I didn't see how that could be the reason.

I grew up on our farm, chasing chickens and watching as my grandfather herded sheep. I loved watching them, and sometimes got the urge to chase them and eat them. My mother said it was an instinct and that I should ignore it, otherwise I'd get in trouble. Soon after, one of our three humans started to take me with grandpa, and train me to be near sheep. I loved this, although chasing them was something hard to ignore, I learned eventually.

One time I saw a wolf, that looked like my dad, stirring them up and chasing our sheep. It looked like fun, but then my grandfather went barking at him and the human followed, with a big stick, he pressed down a lever thingy at the wolf and out came a loud noise, I jumped. The wolf ran away, and my grandpa told me what was wrong. Many questions were answered that day..."

A wolf came up the hill and looked at the mountains, it howled for a little while, then looked at the sun, which was just rising. Crowing came from behind and the wolf looked back, and trotted down to a farm. It entered and went into a room.

Wolf: " Mum, today's the big day."

  The dog was already up.

Dog: " Yes Anene, today's the day."

Anene: " I can't wait!"

Laika: " You're really excited, aren't you?"

Anene: " Excited doesn't cover half of it!"

Laika: " First let's get some breakfast."

They both walk out of the room, and head into the kitchen, where Rex, (Anene's grandpa) Is eating, next to some other bowls which are full. Anene and Laika go to eat.

Human: " Rex, Anene, let's go!!"

Anene barks and runs off, Rex trotting after them. They get on the back of a truck, it starts, and they go off. At a wide pasture, there is a corral with lots of sheep. Anene jumps off the truck (it stopped) and runs toward them.

Anene: " Hello!"

All the sheep run towards the other side of the corral, yelling "Wolf!"

Anene: " Calm down."

Rex: " *laughs* They'll call anyone a wolf, you'll get used to it."

Anene: " They'll never get used to it, will they?"

Rex: " Nope."

The human walked over and opened the gate, he let out the sheep and whistled. Anene and rex ran towards the sheep and herded them towards the pasture. Then he whistled again and they came back.

Anene: " (thinking) Was that okay?"

Human: " That'll do, good job."

Anene: " (thinking) I knew it! I did great!"

Human: " Come."

The human walked towards a tree and took out a sandwich, he gave some to the dogs and ate his part. The border collie walked towards his grandaughter.

Rex: " You did a good job today, but we're not yet finished."

Anene: " There's more? Yes!!"

Rex chuckled, the human whistles in a high tone and the dogs get to work. They herd the sheep towards a field near the farm.

Laika: " Anene!"

Anene: " Hi mom!"

Laika: " So, how's it going?"

Anene: " Great! I love this!"

Laika: " Aren't you tired?"

Anene: " No, I'm used to this."

Laika: " Just like your father."

Human: " *whistles* Anene! Come here!"

Anene: " Oh, got to go! See you back at the house!"

She runs off. In the distance, a wolf is looking at a sheep and her lamb that strayed. He licks his lips.

Wolf: " A nice dinner."

Anene comes and leads the sheep back to the herd.

Wolf: " What's a wolf doing herding sheep instead of eating it?"

  He leaves.

Later, Anene, Rex and their human are back at the farm, tired and worn out.

Laika: " Have a good day?"

Anene: " Yes, but I'm tired."

Laika: " *smiles* Try and guess what's for supper."

Anene: " *gasp* Meat? with pieces of steak?"

Laika: " Yep!"

Anene: " Dad's missing out on so much! I can't beleive he says hunting is much better."

Laika: " Well, uh, he doesn't know what he's missing, dear."

 Anene runs into the kitchen.

Laika: " Phew!"

Anene: " Hey!"

Laika: " What's wrong?"

Anene: " They forgot the steak!"

Laika: " *sigh* I'll try and fix that."

 She trots to the kitchen.

Rex: " Laika, you don't have much of a choice."

Laika: " But we have to stay! Besides, Alaska is a whole other country."

Anene: " Grandpa, what about the sheep? Who's gonna help you?"

Rex: " I can do it on my own."

Laika: " Isn't there a way we can stay?"

Rex: " I doubt it."

Anene: " Grandpa, I don't want to move, what about dad?"

Rex: " He already knows about this, now, get some rest, you're moving tomorrow."

Anene & Laika: " WHAT!?"

Rex: " I'm sorry, but I don't decide."

Anene: " *sigh* All right, good night."

Laika: " I'll help you pack."

Rex: " Good night to both of you."

That night, Anene snuck out and headed towards her dad's cave. She trotted silently through the night. She howled into the cave.

Wolf: " Who's there? Anene?"

Anene: " Daddy, I'm moving tomorrow to another country."

Wolf: " Calm down, I know."

Anene: " Dad, I don't want to go."

Wolf: " Here, sleep with me tonight. You have to move, maybe you'll find an owner in Nome."

Anene: " It won't be the same without you."

She slept. The next day, Anene looked from the hill to see a moving truck at their barn. She ran down, only to be received by a leash and be loaded onto the truck.

Wolf: " Good bye, Anene, Laika."

  He walked off.

Kodi: " Rumor has it some farm dogs will move here, but, most of the time rumors are wrong."

Balto: " Are you sure you didn't hear wrong?"

Kodi: " It's possible, then again, Silvie and Dixie aren't the most reliable source there is."

Jenna: " Do you know when they could come?"

Kodi: " That I don't, Oh, gotta go! Bye mom! Dad!"

He runs off, a moving truck passes by.

Balto: " Hmm, maybe Kodi was right about the movers."

The truck stops at a house, two humans come out and unload a couple of dogs, the youngest struggling. Her leash accidentaly unclips and she runs off into the entrance.

Anene: " This is nothing like home."

She's lifted by one of the humans and taken back to the house.

Balto and Jenna turn around the corner and see the moving truck at a house.

Balto: " You think they have dogs?"

Jenna: " Well, so far Kodi was right about them moving. We'll find out tomorrow."

Balto nodded and both walked off. Anene was up and about around Nome, exploring her new surroundings. Right now she was sniffing an alley way.

Anene: " (narrating) Moving to a new place is hard, yet exciting. You never know what kind of adventures you'll have. In the morning, I realized that yesterday I acted like an idiot. I guess all of it happened too soon. Anyway, today, the first thing that came to mind was sniff out Nome, get used to it, guess it's a wolf instinct. My first day in town and I already get to mischeif. I met three street dogs that day.

They told me how they hated house dogs and wolfdogs. It didn't take long for them to find out I was both. They chased me deep into the alley way, when I almost got out, one of them appeared in front of me. I didn't want to fight, actually I did, but I had to wait a while before I got in trouble and could leave enough evidence for my mom to find out.

Lucky for me some wooden boxes were on my side. I jumped on them and kept going higher. When I felt safe, I found an open box and pushed it towards the edge. I struggled but made it, when the dogs were under it, I jumped on it, pushing it further into the snow and ran towards home.

Before I was there, two dogs were talking with mum, I didn't want to bother her, so I ran down the street and towards the back of my house. Once there, I looked at the fence. Home was on the other side. "all right, one" I troted towards it and jumped, but didn't even reach the half. Maybe with some speed, so I sorta troted canteres in the opposite direction, "two" I cantered towards the wall and jumped, this time I got to more than half, and was able to see the other side. Maybe more speed, so I cantered to a reasonable distance, "Three!!" I ran full speed at the wall, jumped, pulled myself up the side and landed on the other.

I made it, and was exhausted, so I walked through the doggy door, and onto my nice cozy blue bed."

Laika: " I'm half husky half border collie."

Balto: " Interesting."

Laika:  "Balto, you look half wolf and half?..."

Balto: " Husky."

Laika: " It's a big world, I'm sure my daughter would like to meet you."

Jenna: " She likes wolves?"

Laika:  " *nodds* She has her reasons."

Balto: " How does after tomorrow sound?"

Laika: " Okay."

They exchange good byes and Laika enters thedoggy door.

Laika: " Anene? What are you doing here so early?"

Anene: " I got tired, so I came home."

Laika: " Well, good night."

Anene: " *yawns* Good night."

She rests her head on the pillow. Laika walks to her bed and sleeps.

Next day Anene is wandering around the outskirts of Nome. She sees a wrecked boat near the see in the distance.

Anene: " Cool!"

She runs towards it, once close, she walks around it, examining. Finally, she goes up the plank to the dock and runs around sniffing the stuff, she finds a cat toy, a blue blanket and a little bowl.

Anene: " I wonder if someone lives here."

She walks around still exploring the place. Balto came to the boat, hearing a crash from it. Boris walks up to him.

Boris: " What's that?"

Balto: " I don't know, but it came from the boat."

He sped up and trotted up the plank, seeing a mess where the boat is.

Anene kept looking around, and began sniffing the life boat. Without noticing, she knocked down a plank that stood a few things, and it fell down on her. She gasped right before it fell on her.

Balto: " Come on Boris! Help me fix this."

He started moving the things until a tail appeared. Balto gasped, and quickly removed everything, to see Anene with her paws on her head. She opened one eye and stared at Balto.

Anene: " *gasp* You're a wolf!"

Balto: " And so are you."

Anene slowly got up and darted away, she jumped from the deck and kept on running to town, with Balto watching from the boat.

Boris: " She's part wolf, like you."

Balto: " You think it'll happen all over again?"

Boris: " Oy, not another wolfdog to babysit."

Balto watched as she entered town.

Balto: " Maybe she already has an owner."

Boris: " We'll see."

They walk into the captain's deck. Anene turned a corner and entered the doggy door into her house, she panted.

Laika: " Anene, where were you? You're dirty."

 She stirred, she'd forgotten that.

Anene: " *gasp* I was in the outskirts and saw this boat, some planks fell on me and a wolf..."

She paused, he also had a tame scent. Maybe he was a hybrid, like her.

Anene: " At least, I think it was a wolf. Maybe he was a wolfdog."

Laika: " So... you came back running before he would hurt you."

Anene: " Yeah."

Laika: " What was this wolfdog like?"

Anene: " He had almost the same markings as me, and had brown fur, with dark brown ears-"

Anene & Laika: " And yellow and red eyes."

Anene: " You've met him?"

Laika: " His name is Balto, and he wouldn't hurt you. He wouldn't even hurt a fly. He is a wolfdog, and a hero in this town. And tomorrow you're going to meet him."

Anene: " What? Mom but-"

Laika: " It was settled since yesterday."

Anene: " Mom, no. You can't... He didn't...   oh all right."

Laika: " Now go and take a bath. How do you get into these things?"

She starts pushing Anene up the stairs.

Anene: " Mom-"

Laika: " NOW."

Anene hurries up a bit frightened. Balto and Jenna appear from a distance, Anene has a blue ribbon with sparkles around her neck.

Anene: " Mum, what if he's still mad at me from yesterday."

Laika: " Mad at you? Honey, he doesn't even know you. Besides, you were still learning the places of Nome, you didn't even know it was where he lived."

Anene: " Great start at meeting someone."

Laika: " Shh, here they come."

Anene slowly sneaked under the bench unnoticed.

Balto: " Hey Laika!"

Laika: " Hello Balto, Jenna."

Jenna: " Where's your daughter?"

Laika: " What? She was right here. Anene."

Anene: " Uhh, I'm not here."

Laika: " Come out of there right now."

      She slowly got out.

Anene: " *smiles sheepishly* Hi."

Balto: " Hello, we've met before. The wolf?"

Anene: " Oh uh, sorry."

Jenna: " Hello, Anene."

Laika: " Anene, this is Jenna and Balto."

Anene: " Uh, nice to meet you."

Laika: " You and Balto have something in common."

She shows her daughter his foot prints. Anene makes a print near his. It's the same, except for the size.

Anene: " I've noticed this before."

Jenna: " Both of you are part wolf."

Balto: " I'm half wolf, and you are..."

Anene: " Lots of things, a mutt, house dog, farm dog, hybrid, actually I'm mainly just a wolf/ border collie/ husky mix."

Jenna: " so your father is a wolf."

Laika: " A handsome one for that."

Balto " He's in a pack or a loner?"

Anene & Laika: " Loner."

 Balto & Jenna chuckle.

A little girl aproaches the dogs, she's on a wheel chair, and is accompanied by a man.

Man: " Lindsy, honestly I don't know why you're so interested in these dogs, we could buy you a whole sled team."

Lindsy: " These dogs are better. Hello Balto, here, I brought you another jerky treat."

She reaches in her back pack and gives him a treat.

Lindsy: " You have friends? Well, I got enough for all."

She sees a littler wolfdog behind Laika.

Lindsy: " Awww!! Who's this? A friend?"

Balto: " (thinking) Yeah, you could say that."

She streaches her hand out with a jerky in her palm.

Man: " Careful, she could bite you. She looks part wolf."

Anene looks up at the man, a bit offended.

Lindsy: " Don't say that, I'm sure she's fine. Here girl, eat it. It's good."

  Anene takes the offer.

Anene: " (thinking) Mmm! It's good!!"

Lindsy: " She likes it! I think I made a friend."

Man: " Yes, a friend with fleas."

Lindsy: " Nonsense. Look at her ribbon, she has a home."

Woman: " Anene, Laika, come in."

Lindsy: " Excuse me, are you the owner of this dog?"

Woman: " You mean Anene? Yes, she's part wolf too. This other dog is her mother, Laika."

Lindsy: " She is a beautiful dog."

Anene: " (thinking) You got that right."

Woman: " At least someone else thinks so."

Lindsy: " What do you mean?"

Woman: " She wasn't adopted as little, so we kept her. No one's been interested in her because of her wolfish looks."

Lindsy: " *gasp* Well, I'm sorry to hear that. Bye Balto, Jenna...   Anene."

Man: " Lindsy, it's time for your piano lessons."

Lindsy: " I know."

   They both walk off.

Woman: " Come on Anene, Laika."

   They go inside.

Laika: " You know Anene, maybe you'd get adopted if you held you're tail up like this."

Anene: " Mom, I can't do that!"...

Jenna: " You know her?"

Balto: " She's a good kid. Unusual since she's rich. Too bad about her disability."

Jenna: " She seemed interested in Anene, you think she'll want to buy her?"

Balto: " I doubt her parents would let her, but she would."

  They both go home.

Anene: " (narrating) Lindsy was a good kid, like Balto said. She'd come and visit me everday, and would throw a frisbee. At first I didn't understand, but Jenna explained to me that she wanted me to catch it. I then was excited for her next visit. She came, with her parents this time. I started to sniff her backpack uncontrollably, and then she took it out. I waited in a running mode, and she threw it.

I ran as fast as I could, which was a fast speed, thanks to my wolf heritage. I ran and wanted to catch it, and jumped three feet in the air. I caught it in my mouth and ran back to Lindsy. She was impressed. I whined at her, and she scratched behind my floppy ear, before throwing it again. I did the same thing.

Before she went back to her house, her parents examened me. They asked if she'd prefer a purebreed, but she said that I was better. I barked at that and wagged my tail."

One night, Anene was sleeping until she woke up.

Anene: " Something's not right."

She got out of bed, headed down stairs and through the doggy door.

Anene: " I have to go to Lindsy's house."

She ran down the road, through the empty streets. As a cat looked in a trash can, it saw a figure running down the street. Anene ran and took a turn to the right. She didn't bark, waking up everyone wouldn't help. Finally she saw Lindsy's house in the distance. A figure entered. Anene quietly aproached and saw a man grabbing everything and putting it in a bag.

Anene: " Door's locked, I'll have to find another way around."

She circled around and saw a window open. She climbed the trash can and entered. She got down by jumping on a table, and creeped to the next room. The man wasn't there, a noise was heard in another room, and Anene went to investigate. She saw Lindsy in her bed, scared. Her wheel chair was on the other side of the room, and so was the man. Looking clearer she saw a gun in his hand.

Anene slowly hid under a table, Lindsy spotted her, but didn't say any thing. The man aproached the table and opened a drawer.

Theif: " Where do you keep the money? And jewelry?"

Lindsy: " In... In the... drawer at the bottom."

He crouched down, only to find Anene growling, bearing her teeth and fur on end. She jumped at him and began to bite, making as much noise as she could. Lindsy reached for the telephone and began dialing.

Lindsy: " Hello? Yes help me, please. There's a thief in my room."

As she gave directions to her place, Anene kept fighting. She bit and barked at the human. Then, he tried to shoot, but missed. The noise woke up everyone on the block. Lindsy's parents came running to the room, to find Lindsy scared to the point where she was shivering and a theif being attacked by Anene.

They ran to Lindsy and got her wheel chair. Finally the man got Anene off, and threw her. Anene shook and got up, lunging at the man once more. Ignoring a shreiking pain in her front leg.

Lindsy: " She's hurt!"

Mother: " No Lindsy, come on. We have to get out of here."

They took her out of the room and out the house. Out there waited a police truck and lots of worried people. They called out for the man, still hearing the fight. But then, the worst. Anene came flying out the window, breaking it in the process. She fell on the floor and yelped. The police ran inside and grabbed the theif. Laika looked between the crowd, to see Lindsy crying near Anene, with her parents. And Anene was bleeding badly, she could hear her whine.

Lindsy: " Help her! Please! She saved us! Help!"

Laika looked in horror, as people ran to save the injured wolfdog. Balto and Jenna came up.

Balto: " Oh no."

Lindsy put Anene on her lap, ignoring getting dirty. They quickly headed to the vet.

Jenna: " Come on."

A while later, Lindsy was petting worriedly Laika, she hoping as well. Some people had gathered at the vet. Finally, the Doc came out.

Doc: " She'll be alright. You can come and see her if you like."

Lindsy looked at her parents and nodded, she then entered the room. There was Anene resting, bandages and stiches on her, and a cast on her leg.

Anene: " (weakly) Mom?"

Laika: " Oh Anene, what were you thinking?"

Anene: " When I got to the house it was to late to think."

Lindsy: " Oh Anene. You're all right."

Anene: " (thinking) I wouldn't exactly call this all right, but, yeah, you could say that."

Balto: " You had us worried there."

Anene: " Yeah, I felt the same about Lindsy when I fought the man."

Jenna: " You know, it was very loyal to help Lindsy. Same with Balto when he brought back the medicine."

Laika: " What happened there anyway?"

Anene: " Well, I saw a man entering the house, ad investigated. Turns out he was a burglar, so I fought him. Next thing I know, I'm being thrown out the window with a broken leg."

Woman: " Hello sir. Sorry for the window, I'm sure I can pay for that."

Father: " You don't need too, your dog saved our daughter. Here."

     He gave her some bills.

Mother: " Now we're even."

Man: " Thank you sir."

Father: " No, thank you."

It was christmas, and was snowing very hard. In a big house, lot's of people were celebrating. It was Lindsy's. The first thing they did was sing caroles. After that a nice banquet with turkey and sauce, mash potatoes, fruit salad, and for desert, chocolate chip cookies, vainilla ice cream and a big puffy fat cake.

Soon  finished, people told stories, happy ones, sad ones, love, betrayal and much more. Lindsy told all her favorite stories. One about how earth was created in just seven days. Other about an Israelita being found by an eygiptian princess and saving his people by opening an ocean. A boy that thinks he's called by his tutor, how a special baby was born, his life, and how he died for his people and Father. A man that was told to go to a bad town and give a message, but didn't obey. That and much more stories.

In the morning, Lindsy woke up. She sat in her wheelchair and went to another room. There, were presents, but one of them, made her smile and giggle. Anene sat there, showing her teeth as if trying to smie. She had a red ribbon on her head, and wore her blue ribbon with sparkles around her neck.

Lindsy: " Really?"

Man: " Yes, but you have to train her."

Lindsy: " Oh I will!"

She hugged Anene. And whispered "Thank you God." After this, they opened presents. One said "for Anene." She ripped open the present, and there in front of her, was a gold and white collar, with license. It said Anene, and the adress of her new home. Lindsy proudly put it on her, and the wolfdog licked her owner.

Anene: " (thinking) thank you."

Lindsy: " Look how gorgeous the puppy is."

Man: " Oh Lindsy."

She looked behind her and saw a yellow/ gold leash, a pink bowl with Anene on gold, and a really elegant bed, with doggies on it.

Lindsy: " Anene will love it!"

Anene: " (thinking) Love it doesn't even describe it!"

She jumped at Lindsy's father and licked him like crazy.

Man: " Ahh! Lindsy, get this dog off of me! Anene, you're welcome."

Lindsy: " Can I take her for a walk?"

Woman: " Why are you asking if she's yours?"

Lindsy: " Come on Anene, let's show off your new collar."

Anene barked. Lindsy clipped her leash to the collar and opened the door.

Laika woke up and looked at her side, Anene's bed used to be there. Last night two men came to buy her. She sighed, different emotions swirled in her mind. Would Anene be happy? Mistreated? Scared? What if she accidentaly attacked someone? Or was framed? Laika streched and walked out, breathing in the cool morning air.

Jenna: " Hello Laika."

Laika: " Oh, hi Jenna."

Jenna: " Something wrong? You look upset."

Laika: " It's just, yesterday Anene was adopted."

Jenna: " Oh, I felt the same way when my pups were adopted. Now we're taking care of our second litter."

Laika: " Anene part of the first litter, she's the runt."

Jenna: " Why does that not surprise me?"

Laika: " You think she'll be okay?"

Jenna: " I'm positive. By the way, Lindsy has a new dog. Want to go see?"

Laika: " All right."

They both walked around, and Laika saw Lindsy from a distance. They both trotted towards her, as they got closer, Laika got prouder and prouder. Anene was walking happily by her owners side.

Laika: " Hello Anene."

Anene: " Mom! Look! I got adopted!"

Laika: " I know, that's a nice collar you have."

Anene: " You like it? It's new. I got it this morning."

Jenna: " It's very pretty, you must be proud."

Anene: " I am!"

Laika: " So, how does it fell being adopted?"

Anene: " Lindsy is so nice with me, it's great."

Jenna: " I have to go now, I left Balto with the pups."

Anene: " Bye!!"

Lindsy: " Come on Anene, mom said we have to go to the butcher's."

Laika: " Good bye Anene."

Anene: " Bye mum!"

   She walked off with Lindsy.

Laika: " She's finally adopted."

She trots back home. Next day, a poodle, bloud hound and beagle come up Lindsy's house. They scratch the doggy door and Anene comes out.

Poodle: " Excuse me, we're looking for a dog who lives here. News has it she's been adopted."

Anene: " Well, you found her. My name's Anene."

Poodle: " I'm Abella. And this is Buster and Chuck, we're part of all the rich dogs in this town."

Buster: " Who are you talking to, Abella?"

Anene: " Um, can't you see me?"

Abella: " He can't see anything dear."

Anene: " Oh, sorry. I didn't know."

Chuck: " What breed are you?"

Anene: " Me? I'm a tri mix.

All of the dogs except Anene burst out laughing.

Abella: " Tri mix? No dear, you must be a pure breed for those kind of people to buy you."

Anene: " Well, Lindsy prefered me over a pure breed."

Chuck: " I'm sorry, my owner must be looking for me. Ta ta!"

    He ran off.

Anene: " Ta ta?"

Abella: " It means good bye dear."

Anene: " Oh."

Lindsy: " Anene!"

Anene: " My owner is calling me, I must go."

She walks in. Abella looks at her foot prints, they're big.

Buster: " Abella, I may be blind, but my sense of smell is perfect. This is no mistake, you were talking to a wolf."

Abella: " Well, we'll have to keep an eye, or in your case a nose, on her. We can't risk a human being hurt, especially a girl."

Time flies by and spring starts to arrive. Lindsy talks with her parents.

Lindsy: " Thank you so much for buying Anene! She's great."

Mother: " Lindsy, dear. Wouldn't you like a pure breed instead?"

Lindsy: " No, Anene understands me. She helps me mom. Being with her makes me feel as if I could walk."

Father: " She's part wolf honey. She could bite you at any moment. What if she has rabies?"

Lindsy: " We'll take her to shots tomorrow."

Mother: " Are you sure?"

Lindsy: " Positive."

Father: " Very well."

Anene: " (narrating) The next day, I was pulling Lindsy around town. People were gathered around. I wondered about it, and jumped. A sparkle of light was in the sky, and someone shouted, "one mile marker". I kept pulling Lindsy on the side walk, and after some minutes, I saw a team of dogs pulling a sled. Their owner was yelling mush.

"Mush, kind of strange don't you think Anene? As if 'faster' wasn't enough. MUSH!!!" I started to run, wanting to obey Lindsy. Soon we caught up with the lead dog. I looked ahead, and there was the finish. The lead dog actually was a red and white husky, with a bridge across his nose. I think his team was the mail team. Everything seemed to slow down. I ran, kicking up snow, Lindsy's wheelchair making it higher. She laughed and yelled Mush!! I ran faster, Lindsy cheered on me.

I smirked at the lead and ran as hard as I could. As we aproached the finish line, time sped up until it was at it's normal rate. I barked tones of times, and crossed the finish line. We won by a nose. I panter and looked at Lindsy, letting my tongue out of my mouth. No won seemed to notice our little race challenge. But we won, and Lindsy was proud."

Lindsy: " Good girl, Anene. Good girl. You're a good doggy."

Anene: " (thinking) Did I do good? Did I? We won."

Anene just panted harder. A french poodle looked at her.

Abella: " I just saw what you did."

Anene: " So?"

Abella: " You wanted to hurt the girl, didn't you?"

Anene: " No. She enjoyed it."

Abella: " Look, I know you're part wolf. If you hurt that girl, we will chase you out of Nome."

Anene: " I would never hurt Lindsy. Before I was adopted by her, I helped her fight a robber. I was thrown out a window no thanks to him."

Abella: " Oh, that was you? My apologies then. It was a loyal thing to do."

Anene: " Everyone says that. Apology acepted."

Abella: " Buster! Come and meet the hero!"

Buster: " And with that you mean?"

Abella: " The dog who saved Lindsy."

Buster: " Oh, for a moment I thought it was Balto."

Anene: " No, but I am a wolf dog."

Lindsy: " Anene! That was so cool! I practically felt I was running! We should do that more often!"

Anene barked and looked around, Abella and Buster wheren't there.

Lindsy: " Come on girl."

  Anene followed, a bit confused.

Lindsy: " Can we?"

Anene: " (thinking) Yeah, can we?"

Father: " I don't know, Lindsy. Just how much is this gonna cost?"

Lindsy: " I don't know really. But how much can a little sled and harness cost?"

Mother: " Okay."

Lindsy: " Ya hear that Anene? We're gonna be a sled team!"

Anene barked happily and jumped up and down as much as she could. The young wolf dog woke up and got up, she ran down the hall and into the room. You could hear a little girl say "what? Anene? What do you want so early-ahh! No! Stop it! You're tickling me, hahaha!"

There was Anene on the bed, licking Lindsy.

Father: " What's all the *yawns* Commotion at this hour?"

Anene looked happily at Lindsy's father, she jumped off her bed and started to chase her tail.

Lindsy: " Hahahaha, Anene's just excited because today we're getting the sled."

Mother: " Oh, that was today? We made plans for all day."

Lindsy: " What?"

Mother: " Just kidding, get dressed honey."

Lindsy: " Yeah!!"

Finally they were at the carpinter's.

Man: " Every day, more and more children want to learn to mush. Balto sure helped me get more buseness."

Lindsy: " Oh, Balto's not the reason I want to much."

She looked at her new sled.

Lindsy: " I have my own reasons, right girl?"

Anene: " (thinking) You got it!"

She walked up to Lindsy, and put on her new harness. She looked at a little plack that said " Anene, best dog in the world."
