As I gaze at the cold blue night, I sigh. Winter. It is my time. Nothing else can make me feel as the winter does. I think
of all the other places there are to live, but the artic is where I belong.
I race through the freezing air, my soul shivers with delight. Yes, this is where I belong. Where the spirits come and whisper secrets in your
ear, then shimmer out of existance once again. And in the summer the rain whispers, too, telling stories. Ah. The Northern Lights. So beautiful and spilling over with spirit energy. I know some of the ones I have loved the
most are up there. The moon shines down upon me. I worship the moon. It's light cleanses and purifies my soul. Without the moon, wolves would be lost. I leap onto the river ice. I do not slip. Run, run! my wild soul
tells me. My pale feet fly across the ice. I run and
smile. I think my heart may burst with icy joy. I don't think I'll ever stop, I don't want to stop, but I have to. I start up a small mountain. The desire to be near the moon drives me on. I'm at the top. I gaze at the moon, and my chest swells with a song, one of love and
heartbreak, the story of my life. Oh how I wish I could let my son hear, but it is too dangerous. Oh moon, beautiful moon, heal my broken soul.
And I slept.
