It was nearing the end of the year, after the tests, and the dogs, all that were my age, were out on the larg feild, or playing outside it. I was with my realy great friends, Takara, Lynne, Langley, Aylin and some of my other friends.

     We were playin "Dare or Dare", when you hade get dared, or, get dared again. It was fun, some dares were silly, some nasty, and some funny. Lynn got dared to hug someone, who ran off and didn't come back for a while.  

     Then it came down to me. It was Tak's turn to dare me, my heart pounded. I was hoping for somthing like, Go run one lap without stoping! Or, Go pull Lilium's fur. But I got neither.

      "I dare you to.." Storm said, slowly. She looked up, as if an idea would be floating there. Then she smiled and squinted her eye's. "I dare you to go and HUG Hoyt!" She smiled evily.

     I wanted to rip her guts out. She knew how I felt about him! And she dared me to do that. "Whah? You! Ah, no! No! Im not!" I said, sticking my nose up. "You have to!" She said, pushing me. I growled, and looked around for him.

     "Oh well, he's not here." I lied. "Yeah he is." Tak said, pointing to my left. I looked, and there he was, playing with some of his friends. "But, he's infront of all those others!" I pleaded. "Langley, call him over here!" Strom said. Shit! I thought.

     I saw Langley walk up to him. I began to back up, but Storm, Aylin, and the others all stoped me. Langey and Hoyt came over. "No. No guys I don't want to do this!" I said, squirming. "Aww, why can't I get a hug?" Hoyt teased.

     Seeing he was playing along, I stoped. I walked up to him, and huged him. But when he huged me back, my heart pounded. Oh yes!

     Realizing we were at school, I stoped and smiled at him. He smiled and turned to walk back to his friends. I was over joyed, but when I turned, Takara was trying not bust out laughing.

     "Im. Going. To. Kill. You." I growled. "Oh shut up!" She said. "You know you liked it." She whisperd in my ear, and I chased after her. We ended the game when the teachers called us in.

     I walked in, and went to my spot in a small part of the room. Hoyt sat not to far from me, so I could see him well. He came in, smiled at me, and sat down.

     The next morning, we went out and had the same thing happen as the day beffore, until Takara wanted to play 'Dare or Dare' again. "I dare you and Aylin to hug Hoyt!" She said. Now I was just annoyed. "Oh yeah! Come on Chance!" Aylin yelped with joy, she to, knew about my feelings for Hoyt. 

     "No, wait 'til we get outside." I said, and walked out into the feild. Once my dare had been done, I was very angery. Both Hoyt and I had been annoyed by this. Thinking he was mad at me, I walked away. I sat alone for about two hours before Langley aprouched me.

     "Hey Chance, what wrong. You look upset." She said solfty. "Nothing, why should I be?" I said in low, almost annoyed sounding voice. "Yes you are." She said. I spilled everything. "Storm wont stop making me hug or do somthing to Hoyt! You, Leean, Storm, Lynn, and Mega all know about what I think of him." I started. "I need to shut my mouth, I've told to many." I sighed.

     Before Langley could say a word, I started again. "I think he may be mad at me now! He may think I told them to dare me to do that." I said, alomst studdering. "You want me to ask him?" She asked. I waited before answering. "No, not now. Later." I said and walked away.

     Later, they called us off the feild, and took us infront of the school to get us with our class. Then, for some reason, Hoyt walked up to me. "Hey." He said. "Heyy." I said, smiling, my smile wasn't a happy one, more like a 'oh, I realy don't want to talk right now' smile.

      "I wasn't mad at you." He said. Whew!. "Oh yeah. Well that dare Tak made me do-." I started. "I know." He smiled. After we went in, we stayed in another room until our teacher came back and let us talk.

      The day ended fast and we went home, but that night, as I lied in bed, I thought about what had happend tat day I smiled, then fell asleep and waited for the weekend to come.

     That Monday moring, I was hoping for another day to with Hoyt, and hopfully to get closer to him, but that dream would soon end.

     In my first class with Aylin, we talked for a while, and then she told me the news. "Did you know about Leean and Hoyt dating?" She asked. My heart sank.

     "No. I didn't." I said, almost sounding like I was angry. "When did this happen?". "Yesterday, I think." She replyd. I let out a low growl, I new I told her about my feelings for him.

      "You OK?" She asked. I didn't answer. The rest of the day was normal, up until the last class, we had a blast. I talked to Hoyt a lot, and thought we had become better friends.

      But, just before my 'OK' day was about to end with me going home, I heard it. My heart sank and I wanted to rip the nearest preson by me to shreds. It was Hoyt, saying his goodbye to Leean.

     "I love you." He winked at her.
