An unexpected visitor

One day Balto, Jenna, Steele and Dixie were playing tag and Balto was it. "Can't catch me I am to quick for you Balto!" Dixie teased as Balto quickley lunged at her atempting and hoping to tag her but unfortunatly for him Dixie, being so small and short, quickley dodged him with eas and with out making one single effort but when she did this it ment leaving Balto falling to the ground.

After Balto had recovered he went for Jenna but the same thing happened, she doged him easily and he fell to the ground head first and hurting pretty much every limb on his body. "Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha come on Balto you must be losing your touch I mean I thought you were the fastest dog in Nome well when I say dog I mean your the fastest out of all the dogs to hybrids catagory ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha." Jenna giggled then all the rest of them joined in mocking him.

Jenna then turned to Steele, he was not laughing. " I mean besides you Steele yes you are probably the fastest dog in whole of Nome and I am not kidding you." Jenna said sarcasticaly in order to not upset him or hurt his feelings but with out realising she had already upset Baltos feelings. 

Then a few seconds later she finaly realised that she had definatly hurt Baltos feelings very badly indeed but it was pretty obvious considering that he was sitting slouched in the middle of the crowd of friends sobbing with his head in his paws so you couldn't see his face or make out what any of his expressions were. She then aproached Balto from behind but she did this slowly ,carefully and cautiously in order to make sure that she would not make him stir or jump.

" Hey Balto I really really really did not mean to hurt you're feelings I am really very sorry Balto and I mean it compleatly one hundred percent you know I was just kidding you when I said you're losing you're touch in fact you are as good as ever you could probably out run Steele no offence Steele but Balto I honestly didn't think it to be that bigger deal will you forgive me Balto.'' she said feeling very guilty indeed while nuzzling him.

Just then a cheeky smile spread across Baltos face as he got up and quickly tug her. ''Ha ha ha ha ha tag you are it and you fell for it now whose laughing at who since Jenna it's like I will always have the last laugh.'' Balto said whilst smirking. '' yeah I knew that I was just playing along with the er act.'' Jenna said. '' Of corse you were darling.'' said Balto sarcasticaly. ''Any way it doesn't matter since I not going to be it for long.'' She said while trying to tag Steele.''Wait time out I am gonna go and get a drink.'' Said Balto so he went inside to get a drink.

In the kitchen while he was slurping up some of rosies mums ice cold bottled mineral water Balto started to get a wiff of a new smell , he smelled somthing strange in the air so he lifted his head ,ponted his nose towards the cealing in order to get a better sense of what it was. At that moment he turned to see a large white ghostly figure emerge. It was Aniu! The wolf aproached Balto in a very serious manor but then a smile managed to slowly spread across her face.

"Mother.'' He whispered under his breath while nuzzling her. "My dear son it has been so long.'' Aniu said ''To long.'' Balto added while smiling in delight. " Come on you have to meet Jenna.'' Balto said eagerly. ''Wait.'' Aniu yelled while blocking his path. '' Balto i have somthing to tell you, I'm pregnent.'' Balto stopped in shock he had never pictured his mum with any one but his father.

"The pups are due in about 3 weeks, I just had to tell you. Plus the father is responsable and you and him would get along well indeed.'' She mumbled "I, thought you were Lightnings mate, is er he the father?'' Balto questioned ''No I left him for a wolf named Sharp claw, Lightning and I are history now, acient history.

I told you this because I need you to look after me until the big day of birth arrives you see Lightning is after me and Sharp claw since  he loved me when I left him but now he is no longer in the pack he has also got a new mate named Sandy and before he was kicked out of the pack he swore he would have his revenge and I want you to promise me that if anything happins to me or Sharp claw you will be there for the pups.'' replied Aniu.

Balto didn't have a choice he couldn't turn his mother down so he put on a brave face. ''I promise, mother.'' said Balto at last as they nuzzled each other cherishing the moment. 3 weeks later Balto took Aniu to her cave on the border of Canada and stood there with the rest of the pack waiting for the moment of birth to arive and after the 4 pups were born Balto slipped away leaving his newly born half siblings to get some air into their tiny lungs and to take their first breaths.

2 years later Balto had stayed in touch with one of the pups, Snowstorm, but he lost contact with the rest since 2 died [ Roan and Scarlet] and the other [ Blizzard] apparently found a home with humans in Canada. Balto though doubted this since the pup was pure wolf but even if he had found a home with humans Balto was just happy the he had some where to call home.
