'stay out, ya' mandgin' mutt!' a man said as he threw the ill dog out into the dark alleys out from the kennels.

the man slammed the door shut and left Altii there to die.

Altii was born in a breeding kennel, he was like a stud dog, and the pups would be sold at a pet store to make money, all these men wanted was money. they never cared about Altii's health, the just wanted to make a quike buke. when Altii got sick he could no longer mate, so the men threw him out just like a piece of garbage.

Altii stayed in that dark alley for what seemed like forever when he heard the footsteps of a dog coming threw the alleys. the dog stood over Altii and held his head high, 'hey look what he have here, yo Star, Kaltag, Nikki.'

'what is it Steele?' the dogs asked

'look over there.' Steele said as he pointed over at Altii

the dogs laughed and followed Steele over to the dog, they saw Steele kicking the ill dog and started kicking him too. Altii yelped in pain. but thankfully Balto heard Altii's crys for help and ran over, he stood in front of Steele and his gang and said, 'leave him alone!'

'ahh, so the mutt is getten some bravory, eh?' a dog said

'he's sick and hurt, just let him go, *snarl*' Balto said

'fine, he's not worth the effort anyways, come on boys' Steele said as he and the dogs trotted away.

Balto said, 'are you OK?'

'I'll be OK, i think- *yelp*' Altii said as he tryed to sit up but then he heard a snap and fell back down to the ground, his rib was broken.

'oh no. i'll bring you to the vet to help you get better.' Balto said as he put Altii down on a grabadge can lid and pulled him to the vets office. Balto then barked loud for the vet to hear. the vet strolled out of his office and knelt down next to Balto and Altii. he said, 'dont worry i'll take care of your friend.' the vet then took Altii in the office and put him down on the table, within a few hours Altii was as good as new again, he jumped off the table and smiled at the vet before he bolted outside to see Balto waiting on the porch. Balto stood up and started to walk to his boat house, he said, 'come to my house Boris and i will fix ya up some dinner, looks like you havent eaten in days.'

'thanks Balto.' Altii said as he trotted up to Balto

when they got to Balto's house Boris was mopping up the floors when he looked up and saw Altii and Balto, 'hey there boychicks what ya'll up too?'

'i just told Altii that you can make the best food in all of Nome.' Balto said

'well, i dont mean to brag, but yeah the best Nome's got.' Boris said with a smile

'why dont i let you taste some Altii? you'll love it!' Boris said

'OK thanks Boris.' Altii said

they eat till they were full then Boris went back to cleaning after Altii and Balto said thank you to him. then they walked off the boat to the town.  then Balto said, 'Altii i got to go on my date with Jenna, kay? see ya 'round.'

'OK thanks again for everything Balto.'

'no problem, bye'

'bye.'

Balto ran to Jenna's house and Altii stood on a street corner whatching cars pass. He perked his ears up and heard a car door slam shut. he turned around and saw three guys jump out of the car holding a zap collar and a leash. then Altii whispered to himself, 'oh come on! give me a break!'

then one man pulled out a dart gun and aimed it at Altii.

BANG!

                                                       *black out*

when Altii woke up he was in a fighting ring with the zap collar on. he looked up and saw a large dog standing on the fence. Altii tryed to run but then-ZAP!  he fell to the ground and looked down at the collar.

he started to walk to the dog and Altii said, 'look, i dont wanna fight you.' but the dog lundged at him and pinned him to the ground and skrached his face, Altii yelped the jumped up away from the dog. he snarled at him and bared his teeth. Altii jumped on the fence and leaped on the dog wamming him on his back, then he heard a SNAP! Altii backed away from the dog to see him lieing down in a pool of blood. Altii said, 'i'm so sorry, are you OK?'

'yeah but when i get back i'm gunna beat you to a crisp, you got that dog?'

Altii nodded as the dog licked his wounds and trotted back to his cadge.

                                           *NIGHT*

Altii lie in his cadge wide awake when the man that shot him with the dart gun came out to him. he said, 'good job today boy, here's your food. you win you eat, you lose well too bad for you, got it?'

Altii stood up and whatched as the man knelt down to put the bowl in the cadge. Altii thought this would be a good time to escape, so he lundged at the man and bit his face. the man yowled in pain and fell on his back yelling.

Altii bolted out the room and through the back door. he ran as far as he could till he realized, 'where am i?'

he looked around but all he saw were trees, bushes and more trees. he was in the woods on the outskirts of Nome.

he trotted along a path and saw a hole in the ground. he sniffed inside it to make sure no one lived there. once Altii was sure it was abandond he curled up inside it to sleep.

                                          *MONTHS LATER*

over the months he's lived in these woods he has been acting more like a wolf. he found out how to hunt small prey such as, rabbits, squrles, and fish. no he moved on to hunting elk. 

Altii heard his stomach growl and stood up. he trotted out of his howled out tree and headed for the elk heards. but today he wanted to try a different place for hunting. he dashed to the path to a new elk heard. the path wind around for miles, but when Altii ran he was there in minutes, rather than a human running there it might have taken them a half hour. Altii spotted the heard and got into hunting position. he crept threw the tall brush and spotted a weak elk limping. he went for it. he bolted at top speed to the elk. he lundged at it and it flipped onto its back in pain. Altii went for its neck and within seconds he made the kill. he started eating, he was half way done, when he heard a wolf pack coming up to him.

'hello. who are you?' Altii said

'the real queston is who are you?' the alpha said

'i'm Altii.'

'hello Altii. now what are you doing on are territory?'

'this is your territory?'

'yes.'

'oh i'm sorry i just wanted to see if there were different heards in the area. i'll go'

'you dont have to leave, you might be a good adition to our pack.'

the wolves groaned then one said, 'but alpha he's a dog!'

'that doesn't matter.' the alpha said

'would you like to join our pack Altii?'

'yes please.' Altii said as he smiled

'OK Saturn, Reba, show Altii the way back to the cave.' the alpha said to his daughters

'OK father.' the two females said.'

Reba and Saturn trotted side-by-side up to the cave. Altii close behind. Altii was elert ready for anything to happen.

the girls kept walking but Altii stopped the females looked back at him and Saturn asked, 'what are you doing Altii?'

'run.' Altii said, looking away into the thick woods.

Reba said, 'what?'

'just go, hurry!' Altii said staring at the girls.

the female sisters bolted away and climbed up a cliff, they looked down at Altii. they now saw why he told them to run, the was a bear.

Altii snarled at the bear and lundged at it. he bit its arm and the bear yowled. the bear wammed its arm on a tree sending Altii on his back. Altii weakly got up and attacked the bear again and again. the bear clawed at him and made him ooze out blood from his wound. Altii bit once more into the bears neck and the bear fell.

Altii smiled in victory as he panted heavily and limped away. Altii put his wounded paw down and tryed to bare with the pain as he followed Reba's and Saturn's sent to the cave. he saw one females lieing down and one paceing. they looked up and saw Altii, the rushed over to him and asked what happened..

Altii told them of the bear and the females were amazed. when the pack got back Reba told them of what Altii did but one pack member did not belive them. so Altii lead the pack to where the bear fell.

they were outstanded. the gave Altii the highest ranking besides being the alpha, he was now the beta. 

                                                 *MONTHS LATER*

Altii, Reba, and Saturn were walking to the river. Reba and Saturn in front of course. Altii following. Altii heard the girls talking and said, 'what ya talking 'bout?'

'nothing.' the girls said

'oh come on there has to be something.'

'OK fine,' Reba said

'no, no, please Reba.' Saturn said

'Saturn thinks your cute.'

Saturn blushed and lowered her head. Altii smiled as he trotted up next to her, side-by-side.

finaly a place where he belonged, someone who would love him no matter what breed, wolf or dog. this was home..... now
