CHAPTER ONE

Peace

As the sun shone through the treetops, trees glistened, leaves flew, butterflies soared, birds chirped, flowers bloomed - it was a very peaceful morning at Wolf Rock.  Every wolf wolk up tired, groggy and still very sleepy, except Clara.  She was wide awake, waiting quietly for her guardian, Night Shade to get up.

"Good peaceful morning, my dear.'' Clara said wisely to Night Shade.

Night Shade nodded.  "Hello my dear sister Clara," Night Shade stretched, "once again, I am glad to be your guardian."

 "And it is a pleasure for I to be your master."

 Now all of the wolves were wide awake, playing happily with their mates.  Clara jumped up and majestically stood on top of Wolf Rock.

"Good morning my dear friends.  My dear guardian, Night Shade, has just picked up a caribou's scent.  I am very grateful and I allow Night Shade to catch it this time.''

 "ARRROOOOOOOOOO."

Every single wolf would howl when Clara would make a decision.  They quickly tracked down the caribou and Night Shade made the catch.

CHAPTER TWO

The HUGE Argument

(3 weeks later)

"Clara, Clara.  A terribly strong wolf pack is disturbing the wolves at Wolf Rock." Khan said worried.

"Calm yourself, Khan." Clara said.

"But, this time, I'm serious." he interrupted.

"Kahn, the reason why she does NOT believe you is because you lie all the time." Night Shade said.

"So you're calling me a liar?"

"Well.....Uh......Err....... NO.  Of course not."

"Yes you are."

"SILENCE.  Both of you stop.  You guys are acting like two misbehaving children."

Both of the wolves just looked at Clara.

"You were calling me a liar."

 "No I was not."

"You were so."

"NO I WAS NOT - FOR THE THOUSANDTH TIME."

"So what you said NO for the thousandth time.  You did call me a liar."

"NO.  I was calling you a liar for Clara's sake.  OOPS."

"HAHA.  Night Shade admitted that she called me a liar."

"You little...... "

Night Shade punched Khan in the head.

"BOTH OF YOU, get a grip.  We won't be able to catch that wolf pack if we can't calm ourselves."

"Okay, that's it."  Clara praised both.  "Now, let's get those wolves who are disturbing my PACK." Clara said.  "Oh, and Khan, apologize to Night Shade, please." Clara continued.

 "Sorry Night Shade." said Kahn.

"It's okay, Khan, dear.'' Night Shade said "But, I still did not call you a liar."

 "You did so..." Khan mumbled.

"I heard that, Khan." Night Shade said "Just be quiet."

CHAPTER THREE

War....

"Demon, how dare you disturb my pack?" Clara asked aggressively.

"You know, Clara, sweetheart..."

''I am not your sweetheart!!!" She growled.

"Okay, whatever."  Demon didn't really like her.  In fact, they were really arch enemies.

"You know that the weather has chased away the caribou, don't you?" he said mischieviously.  Clara knew what he had in mind.

"But, Demon, that does not mean you can just march in here like that without permission." Clara said.

"Yeah - and if you come in here without permission, boy will you be eaten all up." Amber threatened through bared teeth.

"Be quite, child." Demon howled.

"BEEF JERKY." Amber hissed.

"I said QUIET." he hissed back.

"You know, Demon, when the weather gets like this and drives away the caribou, you have to find your own." Night Shade snarled.

"You stay out of this, Night Shade, girl." Demon snarled back.

"I cannot.  I shall protect my master Clara at all times."

"She is right, Demon.  You have to find your own in this weather." Clara reminded Demon.

"Well, you know, if you won't give me your caribou, then this means....WAR."

Demon pounced on Night Shade.  Both of the packs jumped and pounced and scratched and bit each other.

" Night Shade, Baby." Noir howled but Night Shade made no answer because she was being strangled to the hard, cold ground.

Night Shade tried to slither out, but Demon used his jaw to restrain her. 

"ARRRRRRROOOOOOOO." Night Shade howled in pain.

 She had the courage to try one more time and managed to get out. Unexpectedly, Demon snuck up and pounced on Night Shade and sent them both flying down a cliff.

"NOOOOOOOOO." Clara yelled as she saw the two flying in the air.

 Noir ran up beside Clara and he wiped her tears.  "You big jerk!" Noir shouted down to Demon.

 The rocks were extremely sharp and Night Shade stabbed her back on the sharpest rock.  Demon flew on to Night Shade's stomach and they collapsed to the ground.  A ten second earthquake started and rolled a huge boulder over the cliff.  Night Shade still had enough strength to slither out from under Demon.   The boulder fell crushing Demon to death, and pinned Night Shade's leg to the ground.

"ARROOOOOOOOOOOOOO." Night Shade howled in even more pain.

"Night Shade, no." Clara yelped trying to go down the cliff.

"No, Clara.  You must not go down there." Noir said trying to stop her.

"I must go."

"Clara you are so stubborn sometimes."

She just ignored him.

"Okay....uh.....I'm coming with you." Noir said.

CHAPTER FOUR

Some sadness....Some happiness......Maybe happiness

"How can this happen, Night Shade?  How?" Clara said balling on Night Shade's side.

"Be strong, Clara." Noir said hugging Clara.

"But, N.....N.....Noir, she's gone forever." Clara said balling.

"Not for ever, Honey.  You'll see her when you are an angel."

"What do you mean, Noir?"

"C....Come on.  Like a wise one like you doesn't understand what a goofball like me means?  Come on, Clara, sweety.  Smartin' up."

"Okay Noir, but still, I'll miss her for a long time."

"I will too, sweetheart."

Clara and Noir lay there, wiping each others tears.

"Well guys, let's head home." Noir said sadly.

"You guys go.  I...I...I'll be there in a minute." Clara said.

"Night Shade..... thank you for being my guardian and it has always been my pleasure to be your master.  I love you."  Clara got up and sadly trotted away towards the others.

"Once again, I am glad to be your guardian and you can always be my master." someone quietly said in the background.

"Night Shade." Clara said happily.

Every wolf went over and greeted Night Shade and licked her.

Noir and Clara went over to Night Shade.

"Night Shade... you are the best guardian, or should I say sister, I could ever have."

"So are you, Clara."

Clara and Night Shade both licked each other.

"AWWWWWWWW." everyone said.

Noir went up to Night Shade.

" Night Shade..... you're my best mate.''

"So are you, Noir."

They both licked each other.

Everyone was glad Night Shade was fine.  A few months later with her mate, Noir, Night Shade had her own wolf cubs named Jake, Tamaska, Venesse and Nelly.
