“How could I ever allow myself to like that creep!” Cocoa exclaimed to her sister. Wind just shook her head. Cocoa and her boyfriend broke up. He was cheating on her and Cocoa would not let it be. She loved him but he didn’t love her. Cocoa was sweet and gentle as well as flattered easily.

“Because you’re lonely.” Wind replied.

Cocoa sighed. “Maybe you’re right. I’m just lonely.” Cocoa sighed again and Wind patted her back.

“Don’t beat yourself up okay?” Wind asked. Cocoa looked at the masked face of her sister. Wind on the other hand was bold and adventurous. She didn’t bother herself with men.

“How can you be so…not hurt! Every guy you’re with dumps you and you act as if you don’t care!” Cocoa nearly shouted in frustration. Her sister seemed to have a heart of steel.

Wind chuckled lightly. “Guys aren’t the only thing in the world you know. Besides I’m not really looking for a long relationship. So it doesn’t bug me much.” Wind replied calmly.

Cocoa just glared at her sister. Wind laughed. “You think you’re so smart. I will die the day some one steals your heart.” Cocoa said smugly.

Wind just rolled her eyes and gave a tsk. “Race you down to the stream!” Wind barked. She took off from her sitting position.

“Wait!” Cocoa yelled and bolted after her sister.

He strolled around the pond, which every young wolf hung out at. Fireflies were dancing in the air as gossip, whispering, and laughter rung through the evening. The pond was known as Little Stone and the stream that kept the pond full was the Pebble Stream. The male wolf perched himself on a log and listened to the others. Four groups were scattered around the pond bank. He just smirked and closed his eyes.

“Slow down will you!” Cocoa snapped at her sister as they neared Little Stone Pond. Wind smirked and slows to a walk as Cocoa slid to a stop at her side.

“Hey Cocoa and Wind! Over here!” Their best friend, Cadena barked. The sisters walked over to Cadena. “Hey how’s it going?” The ebony wolf asked the two of them.

“Good. Cocoa broke up with her boyfriend.” Wind answered.

Cadena nearly shoved her snout in Cocoa’s brown face. “It was about time you dumped that loser of a boyfriend.” Cocoa just smiled weakly at Cadena’s words.

“I don’t know why I ever liked him.” Cocoa spoke. Jafa’s laugh rung. The three whipped around to see Jafa the troublemaker and Felicity the little stuck up one. Those two were also sisters and it was easy to tell from their havoc wreaking ways from their mother, Zeta known to be the talk of the valley until she chose the battle loving Gator as her’s.

“He was no good anyway.” Jafa said as she sat herself down between Felicity and Cocoa. Wind nodded in agreement.

Cocoa was a little scared at how Rapido was so close to her. "Is that a fact?" He asked. Cocoa just nodded and Rapido curled his tail around her sitting position. "Time for my part." The loner thought as he stood and hopped off the log. He strolled closer with an aristocrat attitude.

"How about you move over and see how a pro is suppose to do it?" All eyes locked on the white and black male. He walked slower and stopped in front of Cocoa and Rapido. Cocoa gasped. He was slim but muscular as his muscles rippled beneath his hide when he was walking. His white coat decorated in odd black markings. The stranger’s dark blue eyes calm. Rapido growled and stood.

"Who do you think you are?" Rapido asked. The loner gazed at him then knocked Rapido down to the grass just using the side of his head. Rapido growled but was cut off by the glare of Wind.

The loner sat in front of Cocoa. He was close but not to close. His expression was relaxed. "So gorgeous…" He started. Cocoa would have fainted if her friends didn’t surround her. "Got a name?"

"What?" Cocoa was surprised. "Oh it’s Cocoa." She quickly answered. The loner smiled.

"Cocoa…that’s a sweet name. So I overheard you have some issues with love." Cocoa just nodded. Everyone else was frozen as if one move would break the connection. Even Rapido just stayed down in the cool grass. "I can fix that you know." He nuzzled her lightly. His touch sent a chill down her spine. The white and black wolf stood and started walking away then stopped. He turned around to face Cocoa. "Whenever you want to be with a real man just give me a howl. The name’s Sambe." And just like that he disappeared to the shadows again. Cocoa was in a trance just watching him leave.

"Did you see how hot he was?" Jafa asked aloud.

"Sure would have gotten me melting if he was that close to me." Cadena replied.

"I think Cocoa’s in love now." The red/black wolf known as MossPaw spoke. Wind just giggled. Cocoa wasn’t paying attention to their talking.

"Come on Cocoa. We got to head home." Wind said and she nudged her sister in the ribs.

Cocoa startled. "What? Oh right." Wind just gave another tsk. "See you guys later." Wind said and Cocoa just followed her sister.

"See ya!" Cadena said. Larkspur watched Cocoa walk away. He sighed.

***

"That Sambe guy kinda seems odd to me." Wind spoke softly. They were in the den that they shared. It was surrounded by forest and wasn’t too far from the Pebble Stream. Wind was a little uneasy about how Sambe acted and where did he come from she wondered.

"Who cares! He’s hot!" Cocoa exclaimed with a sigh and a love-struck expression. Wind sighed and Cocoa growled. She didn’t want to argue with her sister. She liked Sambe…no loved him! When she went to sleep she couldn’t stop herself dreaming about him.

Sambe was nestled in a vacant den that he found. He sighed as he thought of Cocoa. She was cute yes that was a no brainier but who was that gray wolf with the black mask? He dreamed of the both of them and he never thought that those two were sisters.

***

Jafa and Cadena closed in on Cocoa as she was walking away from Pebble Stream the next morning. "So are you thinking about going with Sambe?" Jafa asked.

"Cuz if you don’t want him, we’ll take him!" Cadena blurted out. Cocoa just chuckled.

"Of course I am. I’m waiting till dusk." Cocoa answered. Cadena howled. Jafa smiled.

"Maybe he’s Mr. Right." Cadena whispered. Jafa shrugged her shoulders.

Cocoa looked at the both of her friends. "I’m not getting my hopes up." Jafa rolled her eyes and Cocoa growled. "Fine…I’ll try." Cocoa corrected herself.

Not far off, Rapido and his friends were watching them. "Talking about Sambe I suppose." Rapido growled.

MossPaw chuckled. "He made quite an entrance won’t you say?" Domingo nodded as well as Larkspur. Rapido growled.

"That doesn’t matter. Besides I’m thinking more for Wind." A few hushed whispered joking. "What?" Rapido growled.

***

Wind was heading to her mother’s home. She wanted to tell her mother about Sambe and Cocoa’s meeting. Rose would be thrilled for her younger daughter.

"Hey beautiful." Wind stopped dead in her tracks. She knew that voice, Sambe. She turned around to see him.

"Oh hello Sambe." She replied. Sambe stepped closer out from the shadow of an elm tree.

"You must be Wind." He said. She struggled with her defense.

"That’s right." She answered. Oh his voice was making her melt like butter. "Cocoa was right that someone would steal my heart." Wind thought to herself. "What do you want?" She asked.

Sambe chuckled. "Just to get to know you better that’s all." Sambe flicked his tail beneath her chin and walked away. Wind stood there, watching him leave. "So this is what Cocoa felt like? Wow…" Wind shook her head and started on her way. She was going to forget this run in but her heart would remember it.

"Mother he was so handsome! I swear I thought I was in heaven." Wind could hear her sister inside. "Don’t let it slip." She said to herself. "Hey Wind!" Cocoa said as her sister walked in.

Rose the tawny colored wolf smiled at the gray wolf. "Hello Wind. How are you? Cocoa here was telling me about this Sambe fellow."

Wind smiled at her younger sister. "Cocoa just fell head over heels for him. And to your question I’m doing just fine." "Yeah right." Cocoa smiled at her sister and Wind smiled weakly back.

"I was going to meet Sunstroke for lunch. So I better run. It was nice talking with you Mom. See you later." Cocoa darted out of the den. Wind waited for a bit.

Rose started to get up. "Mom…" Wind started. Rose looked at her daughter. "Yes dear?" Rose asked. The older wolf sat back down. Wind hesitated a minute.

"I…ran into Sambe earlier and I think he captured my heart. But Cocoa would be so crushed! I don’t know what to do."

Rose smiled at Wind. "Well I just say stay out of his way for a while and don’t think about him. You’re good at things like that." Wind chuckled.

"Thanks Mom." Wind nuzzled her mother before departing the den she was raised in.

***

Cocoa was outside the den she and her sister shared. Night had almost fallen. Cocoa felt lonely as the wind blew a chill. Cocoa raised her head and howled a lonely song.

Sambe raised his head. A lone song had reached his den. Was that Cocoa? He sniffed outside then ran in the direction the howl had come from. It wasn’t too far if he was correct. He hopped across the Pebble Stream and sniffed around again. Cocoa’s sweet scent was strong. He smirked and went along his way following Cocoa’s faint trail.

Cocoa sighed. "I should have know better. He’s probably sick of waiting for me." She stood and turned toward the den. "And where do you think you’re going?" Cocoa froze and slowly turned her head to look behind her. There he stood below the ridge. Cocoa smiled and turned to face him. Sambe hopped onto the ridge she was on. "You thought I wouldn’t show?" Sambe asked. Cocoa just looked down. Sambe licked her cheek. "Come on sweetheart, let’s head to my place." Cocoa smiled and licked under his chin. Sambe smirked and nuzzled her fondly.

Wind watched them leave. She growled to herself. Why did it have to be the same guy her sister liked. Err…

Sambe and Cocoa were talking about their lives. "So any family?" Sambe asked. Cocoa nodded. "And?" Sambe asked.

"Three brothers and two sisters." Cocoa nodded. "Right now I live with my sister Wind." Sambe nearly choked.

"Are you alright?" Cocoa asked.

"I’m fine just some air went down wrong." Sambe smiled and Cocoa giggled.

***

"So how did it go?" Jafa asked. Cocoa was beaming with confidence. She was flowing with energy and excitement.

"It was wonderful! We were you know just hanging out." Cocoa replied.

"Something had to happen!" Cadena nearly screamed from excitement. Cocoa giggled. The three friends were laying in a circle to see each other better. They were right next to the stream.

"Hello sweetheart." Sambe spoke as he walked closer. Cocoa smiled up at him. Sambe looked at Jafa’s and Cadena’s expressions. "Oh and if you’re wondering…we’re dating."

Jafa and Cadena gasped. "Oh goodness!" Cadena said. "I can’t think of a better pair." Jafa spoke. Cocoa licked Sambe’s chin as he sat down next to her his tail curled around her.

Weeks had passed. Cocoa was so happy that her and Sambe were together. Wind just acted like she was happy for them both. Deep down she wanted Sambe. Cocoa was spending fewer days with Wind and more with Sambe. She even slept in his den at times.

Sambe and Cocoa were snuggled together one night. Sambe watched Cocoa. She breathed easily with her eyes closed. "Hey babe you want to play a little?" Sambe asked. Cocoa opened her eyes and smiled.

Cocoa sprang to her feet and barked playfully. Sambe performed a play bow and tackled her. Cocoa laughed and playfully nipped his paw. The roughhousing continued for a while before Sambe flopped down to the ground. He breathed deep before rolling over onto his back. Cocoa walked closer to him. Sambe grinned and moved his paw and tripped her back feet. "Whoa!" She called out and landed on his stomach. Cocoa smirked. "It that all you got?" She said with a devious tone. Sambe grinned.

"Oh there’s so much more."

***

Cocoa groaned. "Oh what happened last night?" She asked herself. Her whole body ached a bit. Then she gasped. "What is it babe?" Sambe asked as he slowly awoke. She shot him a panicked look. "Did we…?" She asked and Sambe chuckled and laid a paw across her back and pulled the brown she-wolf closer.

"Uh oh. Here comes trouble." Felicity spoke with a devious smile on her face. Yes her standards were high but she always gave the boys a run for their money.

"Make that trouble times four." Wind spoke with a low tone as she looked over the approaching group.

The loner lifted his head as he was listening to the female’s conversation. His log was in the bushes and he wasn’t too far from them. His dark blue eyes saw the whole scene. Four males coming toward the five females. "Maybe I’ll join them." He thought to himself with a smirk.

The group was led by the oh so flirty Rapido. He stopped and raised his head. "Good evening ladies." He spoke with pure temptation.

"Hey Rapido." Felicity replied back with her own sweet voice. Rapido grinned and she smirked. "What’s up?" Jafa asked.

"Just walking about." Domingo answered. He sat down. "So what are you guys up to?" Larkspur asked a little nervous. Larkspur wasn’t known for words.

"Oh we were just talking about Cocoa here breaking up with her boyfriend. He cheated on her." Cadena answered as if it was everyday news. Cocoa shot Cadena a glare but Rapido was suddenly at her side. The black wolf with yellow markings smiled as he sat next to her, his eyes locked on her.
