"Are you coming or what?!" Jane shouted over her shoulder to Saba, her rival.
"Ok, you know that dragging all this prey isnt easy!" She mumbled back.
Saba was starting a new life in the wild, and already she was a full fledged member of a pack quite close to the liitle town of Nome, this made her proud and she put all her effort into making the whole pack belive a Husky like herself wasn't as usless as you think.
" Oh, let me have it, this is going to take forever with you!" Jane snapped, tugging the bundle of prey out of Saba's mouth. " Be useful and help patrol our land, but i wouldn't be surprised is intruders swarmed in!"
Filled with anger and rage, she stormed off, no wolf or bear or anything was going to enter camp with me around! She thought, but while her back was turned, something leaped and powerfully struck their back leg into her ribs, Saba howled in pain, but her eyes caught the attacker. He was a dark grey wolf with a cream chest and face, his muscles were big and strong and would be quite a challenge to her.
"Why do you dare to enter our territory!" Saba growled fiercely.
"I saw something red, not what i would call a wolf, but a PET." he replied smugly. "Out of my way anyway!"
The wolf pushed Saba aside, but she clung on to him and they tumbled down the hill, which ended up in the camp. The leader was horrified to see an intruder swiping one of his pack members, so he immediately split the two up.
"What are you doing in our forest? He questioned the wolf
"I, sir, am Randolph, or should i say... A loner?" he bowed down. Saba looked into his eyes, there was something about them... And a thought struck her mind, WHAT!, no way! But she couldn't help it. A fire was growing in her heart, why? She... loved him and he had attacked her! "You can stay." The leader declared "And tonight you will sleep by Saba."
The sun crawled down to hide in behind the mountains as the pack lied down to rest, Saba wasn't sure if she wanted Randolph by her, but at least someone would be with her tonight. "Well, it looks like i'm by you for today..." Randolph called, then he sat down and waited until only he and Saba were awake. "Why did you attack me? Why didn't you fight to get off me when we were rolling down the hill?" Saba asked quietly. " I wanted to tell you this..." He whispered...
" When i said i saw something red, i was saying that in a nice way... And i attacked you to see if you were strong, you were. I clung on to you so you would take me to your pack to tell you that i... Actually love you." He finished. "And i love you too." She smiled. " Now i can show you the fire within my heart."
