Father Sexton, a church mouse, is a priest in the service of the church of Nottingham. He assists Friar Tuck in ministering to the common folk of the village, and also plays the church organ. (The name "Sexton" is actually the title of a person who looks after a church and churchyard, rings the church bell, etc.) He has a general American accent.
Though a kindly, gentle soul, Father Sexton can be brave and outspoken when necessary, in spite of his small size. He cares a great deal for the citizens of Nottingham and for the church, and is ably assisted by his wife. They both live inside the church walls, entered through the typical hole in the wall.
Origins of the character: While this specific character has no foundations in the Robin Hood legends, those legends are stories of good versus evil, mercy versus brutality, and honesty versus corruption. And clergymen do appear in those legends.
