Before everyone yells at me "SHADOW MAN", I understand that but look at this! It's almost entirely in black, so I wanted to try something different. I decided to make a inverse shadow, white.
To tell you the truth, I never planned on doing another Facilier picture, but after seeing a portrait done by Kehinde Wiley titled "Portrait of Andres Stilte II". The only problem, the hand position just seemed worng, so I took it upon myself to give that hand something to do. What did I make Facilier hold? Not only his hat, but his card! This way, I felt the pose had action and story behind the character, rather than imposing nothering.
Like the "When We're Animals" piece with Tiana's nose, Facilier's nose is the same problem.I don't like working with flat noses, there's no distinction unless it's a psychical feature, and the tutorial tried. The only thing I could do to work with the nose is the life, give it form and grace unlike th flat coloring job the tutorial used.
The frame is actually from the picture I based the pose off of. So, please don't call me a art theif, I just needed something else to brighten the picture.
Even how thin Cab Callo- I mean, Facillier is, I just don't like drawing the character like a stick, which is why I don't usually like drawing this character. Yes, I like the character, but when drawing, just doesn't work with my way of drawing.
