The sun's mist shone into a dark alley, as the short tail of a white kitten raised up. The white kitten stretched as she got up from her sleep. She didn't remember falling asleep in an alley. As she looked over, she saw another kitten, an orange one. She stared for a moment, as a swift squirrel hopped by. The sun made his fur look like shining fire. Some patches looked like a gentle hail had fallen the night before. She quickly turned her head away and forgot he was even there, as she was too busy wandering what could have taken her and the familiar face of the orange kitten. Maybe a golden Jack Russell Terrier. No, too small. A brave Chow Chow? She heard whispering behind her, and as she looked back, she saw ash moving in the wind. Odd, she thought, what was burned for that to happen? She went back to thinking about what took her. It wouldn't have been hard for a dog to take her, since she wasn't even likely to beat a rabbit, she'd probably lose to it's bare claws. A sharp wave of fear went straight to her body. She looked back to the orange kitten, who's fur shone like fresh misty snow. She thought of her old friend, Dawn, but this kitten was clearly male. Suddenly, her mind filled with the answer. Oliver!

Oliver woke up to another kitten shaking his body. He looked up to the white kitten's face, which looked gray for a moment. "Frosting?" Oliver moaned. "What are you doing here?" He got up out of his resting position and stretched his front legs almost identical to how his best friend did. He looked around the dark alley, with sunlight shattered throughout. "Where are we?" he asked, sounding more lively than before. "Why, your in Jex's alley, of course!" barked a happy voice. Suddenly, a black and white pomeranian stepped out of the shadows. "I'm Sylvia! Jex and the rest are out right now, so I'm watching over you!" she added. "Why are we here?" Frosting raged. "Calm down, kitty cat. No need to be so bossy. We want to help you." Sylvia replied. "We don't need help, though!" mewed Oliver. "Oh, but you do! We-"

Sylvia cut off as a red and white Akita walked in carrying several ramen noodles. "The streets are a jackpot, I tell you." The Akita set down the noodles and walked closer to the two kittens, lowering his head to get a closer look. "Who are these kittens?" he asked as he turned his head to Sylvia. "The female is named Frosting, the male is named Oliver, Jex. Frosting is a stray, and Oliver is one of those kittypets." she spoke. "I thought kittens would be easier to keep then full-grown cats, we can get them used to us." Jex turned back to look at the kittens. "I see," Jex's breath filled the air around, causing the kittens to cough. "Let me bring in everyone else to see what we should do with you. Come on in, guys!"

Three more dogs walked in, a white Bull Terrier carrying a bit of rabbit, a black Chow Chow with lighter undersides carrying chicken scraps, and a fawn and steel blue Yorkshire Terrier with an empty mouth. "Sylvia thought it would be easier to keep kittens rather than full-grown cats. These ones look weak, probably can't win against a gentle rabbit. Let's hope we have some food to feed 'em." It felt like it was taking forever for Jex to finish talking. "I don't know, the white one looks kind of strong..." added the Yorkie. "Silence, Chilly!" Jex barked at him, then he continued. "These kittens might help us by a long shot..."

While Jex was talking, Oliver nudged Frosting and mouthed the word "exit!" while moving his head torwards the opening. Frosting nodded and trotted torwards the exit, while Oliver followed her. Frosting placed one paw out the alley before the Chow Chow picked her up by the neck tuft, while he put his paw in front of Oliver. Oliver gripped onto the Chow Chow's paw about to jump over, but he lifted his paw bringing Oliver off the ground, then he simply walked over to Jex. He put Frosting and Oliver down and said "These two were trying to escape." Jex responded with a "Thank you, Hugi." Hugi gave a respectful nod, then walked back into the audience. Jex gave the two an evil glare, then looked back up at the rest of the dogs.

"What should we do with these spoiled crudes?" Different barks arose from the audience. "Rip off their muzzles! What twerps!" Another wave of fear striked Frosting, and she huddled up beside Oliver. Another cry rose, demanding "Throw those dirtmugs off a peak!" The bloody images in Frosting's head made her quiver, and Oliver tried his best to comfort her. "Choke those spoiled barbarians with a reed!" Oliver chimed in, "Hey! Don't call us that!" The dogs glanced over at the kittens, and then burst out with laughter. "Look, those dirty worms are cuddling each other!" the Bull Terrier shouted. "Silence, Cara!" Jex shouted. "We'll settle this tomorrow, you all get some rest. I'll escort the pigs to the corner, where they can sleep peacefully."

Jex pushed the kittens over to the corner with his muzzle, where there was some red bracken.  "Now stay there, you abnormalities!" he barked in rage. Once Frosting and Oliver had settled, Jex looked back. All the dogs were gone, and he could leave as well. So, he headed off. Oliver realized that this was their chance to escape. However, when he looked over at Frosting, she was already sound asleep. He had to find a way to get her out. He moved to the other side of her and started pushing her. This quickly woke her up, and she started struggling to get away. "All the dogs are gone, we can escape now!" Oliver whispered to her. Frosting didn't respond, she just started bolting out of the alley. Oliver followed her, almost tripping over his own feet. They were finally out. Now they had to find a way to get Oliver home...
