PROLOUGE: Deal

The huge rottweiler guarded the doors to the secret lab. A bitch stepped out of the darkness. She looked up at the rottweiler. The rottweiler growled. "Code name?" He asked. "Pick pocket" the bitch answered, the rottweiler let her in. "Good luck... Pickpocket!"

CHAPTER 1: All good things have to end

Rita looked up, she didn't expect the gang to come so early, especially as she had just finished cleaning Dixie, Her and Dodgers pup. Dixie was light brown, with huge eyelashes like Rita. Dixie gave a little moan, Rita smiled, being a parent was going to be tough, but Rita didn't mind. That night, Rita got into bed, and Dixie tried to climb in to. Rita smiled, sighed, and put Dixie next to her.

From his bed opposite, Dodger smiled, he could see a proper spark in his young daughter.

5 years later

"Mom!" Dixie yelled. Dixie was having a bath, but she didn't like it. Rita grinned. "I've got a surprise for you Dixie, you'll like it!" Rita called to her bemused pup.  "Is it a fashion kit, tree house, or a bone?" Dixie harassed her beaming mother. A small brown thing, the same color as  Rita was lying next to Dodger. Dixie wrinkled her nose, "what is it?" she questioned. "It's your sister, Skiter!" Dodger was grinning from ear to ear. Dixie sniffed. "I don't want a sister!" she said. and flounced off looking wounded. Rita and Dodger looked at each other.

That night, a shadowy figure came into the gangs hideout, and grabbed Dixie, before hastily making his way back out.

CHAPTER 2: Meaningless meanings

"I'll be fine!" Skiter grinned. Titanic shook his head. "No you won't!" He muttered "You'll be MORE than fine" There was a knock at the door, and Georgette came in. Titanic blushed. "Mom!" He yelled. Georgette gave this fake smile, then left. Skiter smiled.

From the other side of the door, Domino was hanging out by himself, when he tripped. He yelled at the top of his voice, causing the whole gang to come out and she what happened. Titanic groaned. Skiter smiled slightly, then darted back to her room. Domino got up and came over to her. Titanic sighed. "She's as delicate as a poppy in the summer." Titanic murmured, and left. Domino scowled, he was not impressed. He shed a secret tear. He wanted to fancy a girl, and for a girl to fancy him back, but none did, he thought it was because of his background. Domino growled, and left to scene.

Out side, Rita was looking up at the stars, Dodger came and sat next to her.

"Your thinking about her, aren't you?" he asked

Rita was surprised her mate knew so much, but she nodded.

" Yes, she was so pretty, now, who know's where she is, she could be dead!" Rita whimpered. Dodger put  a paw on her back.

"Dixie's got street dog blood in her, she'll be out there, waiting, I know it!" Dodger laughed. Even Rita giggled slightly. It had been 14 dog years since Dixie was taken. Rita and Dodger still missed her, but thought she was dead, Dodger was just trying to cheer up his mate, but he was right, Dixie WAS waiting, and she wanted to make a come back, soon...

CHAPTER 3: Dixie

It was raining hard, It was cold, and I needed a place to stay. Not to mention a place to brush my fur. I looked down on the hill before me. I saw something.

It was a small house, I thought it could shelter me from the rain. As I got nearer, it got creeper. I saw it was VERY old, but I knew human's sometimes hung out in it, for dares.

I opened the iron gate and walked as softly as I could up the weed-tufted gravel drive. My mind was strangely empty. I was occupied only at the thought of the warmth and shelter from the rain. The front door was closed and set back in a very deep porch. The wind and the rain had whipped a coating of gritty dust against the panels, and deep into the crack where the door opened, showing it had been shut for years.

Standing on a derelict flower-bed, I tried to push open the first window on the left. It yielded my strength, raspingly and stubbornly. I clambered through the opening and found my self, not at once in a room, but crawling along the deepest window ledge I have ever seen. After I had jumped noisily down upon the floor, I looked up and the open window seemed very far away, and much to small to have admitted me.

The room I found myself in was thick with dust, musty, and empty of all furniture. Spiders had erected great stretching of their web about the fireplace. I made my way quickly to the hall, and threw open the door of the only room with furniture for me to rest on. It was dark morning, and the weather had stained the windows with blears of grey wash, which kept even the brightest of light coming in. The far corner of the room was a blur of shadow.

Some human had left a few human snacks lying about, and I sniffed at them suspiciously. The I hopped onto the cracked leather chair, and went to sleep. The next day, I got out of the house, and searched for a fur brush. I found one under the old telly, and managed to look good again. Then I heard a noise, I sniffed. Another dog, It smelled familiar... No, it couldn't be, Mother?

CHAPTER 4: Skiter

Earlier I had been out trying to find a meal for the gang , but now I smell a weirdly familiar odor. Sort of wild poppy and grass. Just then, another dog came up, she was a golden-honey color, with brown eyes. We stared at each other. Then she laughed. "So, your one of the nasty street dogs, are you?" I gave a mock smile.

"That's right!" I exclaim, not wanting to offend the obviously talented show dog. "So, if your so posh, what are YOU doing up here?" I asked.

"I'm looking for my band..." She said, turning to the left and then the right. "They keep running off, there called the singing strays."

"Ok, whatever, what are you doing up here was the question, do you think that the Singing strays usually hide on a grassy hill?" I put a hint of disdain into my voice. The ' singing stray' laughed,

"Ha ha, very droll, no I smelled something familiar, but turns out it was just you. I thought it was..." She stopped.

"Thought it was who?"I Inquired. The stray cried silently...

"My, my... my mother!" She starting howling.

I felt sorry for her.

"I'm sorry to hear that." I whispered. "what's your name?" I asked

"Dixie, what's yours?" She requested

"Skiter" I mumbled. Dixie observed me closely.

"I used to have a sister 14 dog years ago, Can't remember her name, or what she looked like, oh! There's my band! Hi guys." Dixie ran off.

I pondered what I should do. I called after her.

"Dixie and strays, do you want to come and meet the gang for dinner?" I invited. A brown dog looked at Dixie.

"Why not!" He said. Dixie smirked.

"Thanks Cash!" She hushed. Cash smiled.

CHAPTER 5: Rita reunited

I was happy to have guests for dinner. The guest Dixie remained me of mine and Dodgers Dixie, but decided not to bring that up. In the middle of Dinner, Tito got up and put on a stolen CD and put it in a stolen CD player. It was a romantic song. Tito and Georgette Dog waltzed to it. I did the same with Dodger. Titanic persuaded  My daughter Skiter to Waltz. I think it was Cash waltzed with Dixie, and Domino sat there, sad he didn't have any one.  So in the end, Lilly, a new member of the gang waltzed with him.

I was just about to thank the strays for coming when Dixie said something wonderful.

"This place reminds me of my first home, 14 dog years ago, when I first saw my baby sister." Dixie whimperd.Skiter sighed sympathetically. So did Cash.

My daughter walked up to Dixie, and I saw a huge similarity in their body shapes. That's when I realized. Dixie was back!

I got Dixie on her own. Then I told her.

"Dixie, I think your my daughter." That sounded stupid out loud, so I carried on. "You see, I can guess your age. 19 dog years right?" Dixie gasped?

"How did you know that?" She gasped.

"Because my Dixie would be to!" I sighed.

Dixie nodded. Then she said

"You smell like my long ago mother" and she stared to sob. I did to."

"So what happened?" Asked Dixie, "Didn't you want me any more?"

"Of course we did, but you where kidnapped, then I had to look after Skiter, and then Dodger wanted a boy, so there's Domino." I started howling. Dixie glanced upwards.m

"Well, I'm here now, but I've got to go!" Dixie waved her paw. Skiter met Dixie at the
