Stats
Name: Roberta (goes by her nickname: “Roger”)
Age: 1 year
Breed: Jack Russell Terrier/Saluki?/mix
Build: She has the build of a very mixed build, but is basically a slender Jack Russell.
Personality: Roberta is a tough, quick-witted girl. She loves adventure and spending lots of time with her father. For the most part, she takes after her father and the guys being the only female. She is very relaxed, care-free, and has a very good sense of humor. Loyalty is one of her best somewhat feminine traits and she always tries her hardest to please her father. A deep sense of compassion and a love for others comes from her feminine side and, though she doesn’t know it, from her mother. She doesn’t mind getting dirty and is basically a “more feminine” tomboy…
Markings/Colorings: Roberta has different shades of brown like her father on a light grey coat.

Mother: Rita
Father: Dodger

(PM me if you would like to give her a friend.)
Family Tree: My Own Dodger Family Tree
Relation to Oliver: Roberta “Roger” is the daughter of Dodger and Rita. She also lives with her father Dodger and the other dogs in his group.
History
Roberta was born in a small litter of four to Rita and Dodger. Though Roberta has no recollection of it, her first few weeks were happy and peaceful. Everything was like a heavenly dream… but that was about to change… When the pups were only a few weeks old, Rita and the pups were being given a ride in a car. All was well until a large van ran a red light and both cars smashed into each other in a t-shaped collision. Rita was violently thrown forward into the shattered glass and car fragments and was killed almost instantly. The pups were also violently thrown as the roomy cardboard box they were in was thrown forward off of the back seat. Two died instantly while another was crushed and suffered a slower death. Dodger had kept nearby, following the car to keep an eye on Rita and their pups and panicked when he saw the car accident. Somehow he managed to get a side door open and froze as tears filled his eyes. There across the floorboard were the pups, beaten, bloody, and very still…
Dodger started to turn away, but was stopped when one of the pups gave a small cry. The little pup had snuggled deep into the blanket that had been inside the box and was barely even bruised. A tiny hope swelled up in Dodger, even though he saw his dead mate and pups. He named the small female (the pups hadn’t been named just yet) Roberta like Rita had said she wanted to name a girl. A thunderstorm had started outside, but Dodger ignored the pouring rain as he carried his one surviving daughter to a friend of his. His friend Millie had just recently had a litter of pups herself and gladly accepted Dodger’s broken-hearted request to take care of Roberta until she had been weaned. Millie treated Roberta as if she were one of her own pups…
Roberta anxiously waited on the day that her father came to pick her up and take her home. He smiled broadly at her and tickled her gleefully, but Roberta saw a sorrow deep in his eyes. Dodger picked her up by her scruff and carried her back to Fagin’s home with the other dogs. There Dodger protects Roberta and she is given the nickname, “Roger.” Dodger also gives her the red piece of cloth that she wears. She is warm and comfortable with her father and his entire group…
Roger quickly grows up to be a tomboy from being surrounded by guys in her home-life. She does have some softer, more feminine qualities about her, but she’s basically considered one of the guys. Because of all this, Roger isn’t big into guys in her early adulthood, but Dodger is still Extremely protective of his daughter and any of the guys that try to impress her. For the most part, Roger appreciates her father doing this as she doesn’t care for the guys trying to flirt with her. She lives for adventure and is extremely grateful when she discovers a blue had in a dump not far from Fagin’s place. She sticks it on backwards and proudly comes trotting back to show off her hat to the guys. (Remember she’s been surrounded by guys so they have rubbed off on her a little.) Fagin laughs when he sees her new hat and cuts two holes in it for her ears to stick out. Roger thanks him with all the body language she can and continues to enjoy play fighting with guys her age, though her father nearly always intervenes. Roger loves her life and doesn’t really ever think about the fact that she never knew her mother or siblings except for on rare occasions…

Inspiration: I got the inspiration for Roberta in early March after O&CS was first opened. I have only seen the movie once in about 2004 or so… While doodling it randomly came to me to create a tomboy daughter for Dodger and Rita. Then I decided on her story and the way that she would lose her mother and siblings as a couple-week old puppy and follow her father everywhere. Her name “Roger” came to me as an idea of mixing Dodger and Rita together. Also, I created her name Roberta to give her the real name for the fact that she’s a female. In the end, her designs are still somewhat rough, but I love her story and relationship with her father. :3
Accessories: A blue hat and a piece of red cloth tied around her neck.
