History:
Firstborn of Forage Wood and Peach Tea, Basil Leaf's birth was heavily celebrated among the ponies in his village, especially within his family. His parents loved him dearly, and they were quite nervous for him too. Being first-time parents wasn't easy for them. They were constantly checking on baby Basil whenever he was asleep, afraid he would stop breathing or worse. Nothing was wrong with him of course, and Basil grew up to be quite the reserved child. When his sisters, Peach Buttercream and Peanut Brittle, were born, he became the classic protective big brother, especially of his youngest sister, Peanut Brittle. However, a rift started to form between the two sisters.
They began bickering and fighting over the tasks they had to perform, and even how their parents favored one child over the other-- which wasn't true...for the most part anyways. Basil Leaf hated to see his sisters fight, so he reached out to...professionals. He contacted the Princess of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle, and pleaded with her to send a couple of her friends out to the West to help mend Peach Buttercream and Peanut Brittle's relationship. Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie were sent out, in hopes that they would be able to help. And they were, not only were they able to mend the relationship, but both sisters found their talent and cutiemark.
Unrelated to his sisters, Basil began seeing a mare, which he kept under wraps for awhile. Her name was Little Willow. She was a seamstress whose family worked closely with his, so it was no surprise that they knew each other beforehand. Their relationship grew and grew enough to the point where they became engaged to each other. After announcing the engagement to their families, Little Willow became pregnant and gave birth to their first child, Tiny Ivy, shortly before their wedding.
