Personality: Raven is very moody, and often doesn’t enjoy socializing with other ponies. She like to dress very simply, and dislikes anything over the top. She prefers to be alone at times, and can be very easily irritable, allowing her a hard time making friends.
Relation to MLP: When Raven was hidden in the Everfree forest, Zecora found her, and raised her almost as her own. As Raven grew, she eventually found her own home in the forest, and separated from Zecora, although the two of them still communicate often. Raven also has met the princesses when she visited Canterlot for an important issue. However, she found them much to her disliking, and they asked too many questions about her and her origins.
Background:
Raven was separated from her parents at a young age, when they were taken into custody. Raven’s father was a bat pony who was a member of a small town of bat ponies led by a mare named Sekkra.
She was a strict leader with many rules. Her most important rule was that the ponies stayed within the territory, never to walk out into the land of the other ponies. Raven’s father, as a teen, didn’t like the rule, and one night he snuck out.
While he was exploring the other lands, he met a unicorn mare, and they fell in love. After many secret meetings, Raven’s mother had given birth to Raven. Her father was overjoyed, but worried that people would ask questions. Raven was different, for she was born of parents of different species. Instead of taking one species’ characteristics, she gained both.
Thus, she possessed both the unicorn horn, and body figure, but the wings and fangs of a bat pony. Raven’s father didn’t want to part with his mate, but he had to return before Sekkra found out about him sneaking out.
Unfortunately, when he returned Sekkra was waiting for him at his house. She demanded to know where he had gone. Unable to think of something better to say, Raven’s father said he had just taken a peek at the other world.
Raven’s father was charged with extra work, but Sekkra still didn’t know about Raven. However, Celestia did. Rumors spread like wildfire throughout Equestria, and the rumor about a strange child with odd possessions caught her interest. After talking to Raven’s mom, and looking at Raven for herself, she figured out what had happened. Deciding it was necessary to talk with Sekkra, she traveled into the shadowy lands of the bat ponies.
Sekkra was outraged at what had happened, and Celestia agreed that the mixing of species was unpredictable, and dangerous. Celestia left the matters up to Sekkra, informing her that she hadn’t known about the child until recently.
Sekkra immediately sought out Raven’s father, and confronted him about Raven. Raven’s father could do nothing but admit to what he had done, seeing as it was too late to try and lie.
Sekkra demanded to know the whereabouts of the child, but Raven’s father refused to give it up. Sekkra in return threw Raven’s father in jail to look for the child herself.
Raven’s father was terrified at what would happen, and he managed to break free of his cell and fly after Sekkra. He was lucky and reached his wife before Sekkra found her. He explained what had happened, an Sekkra and him ran into the Everfree forest to hide.
However, Sekkra’s patrols saw them, and soon she was hot on their trail. Worried that they might lose their child, Raven’s parents hid her in a tree and ran, diverting the soldiers. They were later caught and taken into captivity by Sekkra, and Raven never saw them again.
Raven hid in the tree for what felt like hours when a strange figure approached her.
She was different than anything she’d seen before. She bore no wings, or bat horns, and was wearing metal bands around her legs. A long black cloak draped over her back, covering the black and white striping that lay beneath.
Raven was in awe, and the strange horse walked forward and looked at her closely.
Raven later found out the figure was named Zecora, and that she was a zebra that lived in the forest. After somewhat explaining her situation, Zecora insisted that Raven live with her until she was old enough to fend for herself.
Raven grew up learning the ways of Zecora. Although she didn’t learn to speak in rhyme, she did learn about herbs, and the different species of Equestria. When Raven was old enough to go to an actual school, Zecora brought her into town to take her to school.
However, the other kids picked on her for being different, and she didn’t feel welcomed. Instead, Raven insisted on staying home with Zecora.
When Raven was old enough to live on her own, she attempted to move back into Ponyville. The others horses however, would have nothing to do with her, and even denied her a place to rent.
Angry, and upset, Raven fled back to the forest and slept in an abandoned cave. She turned that into her home, and resides there to this day.

Her history will grow as I develop her more. I plan on either writing a fanfic, or making a comic for her.
