Personality: She is confident and self-composed, as well as soft-hearted. She is sometimes stern but reasonable. Is slightly smarmy and ingratiating. She is coquettish and flirty. She is also prim, graceful, clear-headed, and highly intelligent. Believes others are rather biased and judgemental; doesn't trust anyone other than Blazing Star.

History: She was born from a forbidden love between a gryphon and a mare, and was abandoned by them at a very young age.She lived by herself for some time until she was taken in by a kindly couple who couldn't stand to see her so desperate and hungry, and they raised her like she was their own.

Eventually she became a writer and artist who sells her books and paintings in Ponyville, and has many fans of her work all across Equestria, including Twilight Sparkle and Flash Sentry's son Midnight. Notholaena is mute (has been since she was born), and writing and painting are the only ways in which she can express herself. Though she's mute, she doesn't let her disability affect her life.
