Secret Meetings
Nakoa sat in their regular spot, faithfully waiting for Sybil, who finally made it to their secret meeting place, and he couldn't help but smile.
- I was beginning to fear you wouldn't make it, he said, as she came to him and sat down.
- It wasn't easy, but I managed to avoid the guards, Sybil said, still a little out of breath, and Nakoa smiled.
- What? she asked with a smile, and raised eyebrows.
- Oh, nothing, it's just that... you look particularly lovely tonight, Nakoa whispered with a smile, and Sybil laughed quietly.
- Nakoa, please... I wish you wouldn't speak like that. If my father should catch us, he'd send the hyenas after you, she said, with a scared tone, but Nakoa just smiled and raised an eyebrow.
- I'm not afraid of Scar, or his hyenas. If it's necessary, I'll defend you with my life.
- That's so noble of you... but I couldn't possibly ask you to risk your life like that, Sybil said with raised eyebrows, and Nakoa just smiled.
- Dearest Sybil... I would gladly risk my life for you anytime. In fact, I would consider it an honor to give my life for you.
Sybil could feel her eyes starting to water, as he spoke.
- Oh, Nakoa... she managed to choke out, almost in tears, Nakoa smiled, and the young lovers just couldn't get their eyes off of each other...
