The Beginning Of A Friendship

At the bottom of the gorge laid a bruised and battered, red maned lion, who was now beginning to regain consciousness; every part of his body hurt, but upon waking up, he could feel something small and soft curled up next to him - little Sandro.
- Hey... kid, are you alright? he called with a weak voice, the cub opened his eyes and gasped, and immidietaly bounced up as Jarvis got himself up with a painful grunt.
- Jarvis?! You... You're alive! I-I thought you died! Sandro cried, hopping against Jarvis's front leg, and the adult male let out a chuckle.
- Died, me? Nah, come on... I was just resting, he joked, and now, the cub's eyes started to tear up, he sniffed and buried his head into Jarvis's fur.
- ... You saved my life, Sandro whispered as a small tear rolled down on his cheek, Jarvis raised his eyebrows in confusion, but pretty soon his face formed into a smile.
