The Search For The Thief

Night was beginning to fall in the Pride lands. After hesitation for awhile, Otis had agreed to help Beren track down a mysterious thief who had been stealing the cheetah's kills and disappeared into thin air - leaving little to almost no tracks.
- I don't understand... how is this thief managing to get away without leaving any tracks? wondered Beren, looking around whilst Otis kept his eyes and nose close to the ground.
- I hate to tell you this, but that's how professionals work, they're like phantoms in the night, he said, raising his head.
- Speaking from experience, are we? Beren teased with a raised eyebrow, and Otis glanced at her.
- Very funny, he growled quietly, Beren chuckled and the male walked onward, when he suddenly stopped as he spotted a paw print in the ground. He raised an eyebrow, leaned his head closer, and smirked his eyes upon a distantly familiar scent.
- Well, well... he began, with a raised eyebrow and raised his head.
- It seems our friend has made his first mistake. I should have known, he said, and Beren walked over to him.
- You know who these paw prints belong to? she asked him.
- Yes... I'm afraid I do.
- Well, who is it? Beren insisted with raised eyebrows, and Otis kept silent for a moment, looking ahead.
- Let's just say it's... an old acquaintance, he said with a quiet and dramatic voice.

OMG I adore this Wild! And Beren's ears look fine! This is so great
