The Great Escape - Finale (Reunited)
Sun was setting as Jot and Rin were strolling near the Isu Keeney lands borders. Both had their heads low, and for a while, neither of them wouldn't say anything, until they stopped, and Jot let out a heavy sigh, then broke the silence:
- I remember the last time I took Roscoe stargazing here... The night sky was so bright, the air was chilly and he curled himself into my mane, he began quietly, looking at the red evening sky.
- He loved learning about stars, that boy... Jot closed his eyes, and a small tear rolled down to his cheek.
- Oh, darling... Rin whispered with teary eyes, and nuzzled her mate.
- How are we ever going to get through this?
- I don't know... but we've got to be there for each other. Our family needs to stick together now, Jot replied with a trembling voice, and they nuzzled each other, closing their eyes. But then...
- Mom!
- Oh, Jot... It's almost like I can still hear his voice, Rin cried quietly, her head buried in Jot's mane.
- I know... I can hear it, too, Jot sighed, but as he opened his eyes and raised his head, he saw a figure running towards them from the hill... and his eyes widened from disbelief.
- Rin... look, he whispered, Rin raised her head and turned around, and then they both saw it: Their son Roscoe, who they had thought they had lost forever, was running towards them completely alive - bruised and shaggy, but still alive.
- Mom! Dad! he called with a big smile, racing down the hill.
- Roscoe?! they both cried in disbelief and rushed to greet him. Roscoe ran up to his parents, almost tipping his father over jumping to nuzzle him so hard, and both Jot and Rin nuzzled their son who just closed his eyes and purred.
- My dear boy.. my dear, dear boy! Is it really you?? Jot smiled, and still couldn't quite believe it.
- Yes, dad... I'm home, Roscoe said quietly, purring and smiling.
- My darling son, we thought we would never see you again! cried Rin, her eyes filling with tears of happiness.
And that's it for now, folks! The happy ending for this epic adventure! As for Roscoe's story, however, this is only the beginning...
(I was going to use just one render at first, but then this idea came to me and I thought, why not use two. Lol, I hope you like it!)

Woah! Roscoe's happy face in the first panel gets me! I agree with
Paw, the second one is a fav! Such a happy ending to this adventure. I'll enjoy seeing Roscoe's life with Sera (and their family  ) develop! |
