Sarabi limped into the den, heavily pregnant with their son, Simba. It was a matter of seconds before Simba would come into the world. Sarabi cringed, and collapsed next to her best friend, Sarafina. Sarafina had a small pale bundle in her strong arms. Mufasa was crouched down next to Sarafina, smiling.
"Wow," Mufasa purred. "My brother sure has a fine daughter. Why, she looks just like her mother!" Mufasa exclaimed. Sarafina licked the small cub, and her blue eyes opened. She moved her head closer to Sarafina's pink tongue, wanting to be bathed.
"Yes," Sarafina smiled. "She does look like me." She stopped smiling. "Scar was very disappointed to find it was a female, though. He really wanted a male that would look just like him, and he got the opposite."
Mufasa looked at his wife, who was padding back and fourth across the room, panting. "I think having a male must be alot more painful," Mufasa insisted, while Sarabi screeched and yowled. Sarafina looked down at her cub. "Yes," Sarafina purred. "Nala came out nice and easy, says Rafiki."
"Nala?" Mufasa asked, confused.
"Oh, I named her Nala!" Sarafina told Mufasa. Mufasa nodded, and then realized his wife was laying down on her side. He could barely see the orange bundle. He leaped to his feet to so if Rafiki had arrived, after congratulating Sarafina that her cub would be future queen.
My version, Nala is older than Simba. :)
