Sorry it took so long to get this up. I was out of town for a very long time and I couldn't work with images. But I'm back now!
In my universe, Chumvi is the son of Scar by Naanda. After Scar steps up as King, Naanda (who always shows a deep obsession with Scar) tries to get him to notice her, even going as far as to offer herself up to birth him a heir, which was his current obsession. So, while Sarabi mourned the death of her son and mate, Naanda birthed Chumvi, a male cub. But Scar rejects him and keeps him around purely as male muscle. On the side, he also mates with Naanda's sister Dwala, who births a female cub named Kula. Faced with the rejection, Naanda goes into a state of depression, rejecting her son, leaving Sarabi to take him under her wing and raise him alongside her surviving son Tojo. Chumvi, Kula, Tojo and Tama form close relations with each other, and each try to help Nala through her pain. But Zira feels threatened and chases away the cubs to please Scar. Chumvi finds himself the leader of this group of misfits (Kula, Tojo, Tama and Nala's brother, Mheetu) and leads them to the Mountain Pride, where they are trained alongside Malka. Months later, Chumvi finds Nala stumbling into Mountain Pride territory. She begs him to help drive his father out, but Chumvi refuses, telling her that he isn't strong enough to defeat Scar. Malka also agrees, and Tojo offers Nala a shelter away from her dying home. Nala refuses, leaving Chumvi to point her to a jungle on the edge of the desert, where she might find help. When Nala returns with Simba in tow and restores the Pridelands to their original glory, Chumvi sets off as a rogue with Tama (who became his mate by that time), countering Tojo's move back to his original home with Kula as he pined for a stable life. The two brothers part ways and it isn't long before Tama finds herself pregnant with twin cubs Vitani and Kovu. But Zira, suffering rejection from Scar by her son Nuka, arrives and steals his cubs away and takes Tama's life, leaving Chumvi in a heartbroken and grieving state.
Working on his design was a pain. I always see Chumvi with a mane tuft, but I wanted it to be different than Malka's and Kovu's. In the end, I settled with a side-swept style, but with a noticeable amount of scruffiness. The rest of his mane is sleeker and smaller than Simba's.
I will be putting up Kula and Tama later. So be on the lookout
