'There...there...'

Zira resed her head on her paws and closed her eyes. Nuka bit her tail des[eratly wanting attention. Zira opened one eye and stared at her son. 'i'm sorry, Nuka...Scar says I must ignore you...' Zira was in silent fury with Scar. How Nuka not be worthy? Zira's sudden anger left her again. Nuka was weak...and he was annoying. Plus Scar was dead...you must keep a dead lion's vow. Kovu was the heir now.

Zira sighed and closed her eyes again, only to be awoken by a desperate screaming. Assuming it was Nuka, Kovu or Vitani, Zira yelled shut up furiously. But Kovu and Vitani were sleepign peacfully, and Nuka was skulking in the corner, muttering about "his kingdom".

Zira got up and listened to the sound. it was coming foronm the termite hill quite close to her. She saw an Outlander lioness muling a bawling cub.

'STOP! You idiot! What are you doiong?' she snarled.

the lioness was startled, and ran off.

'You're own mother mauled you! What kind of-' Zira paused. She was a bad mother to Nuka...but she wouldn't eat him...'It's all Simba's fault. He exiled us here, to this wasteland. your mother wouldn' have gone insane and hungry, so she wouldn't of eaten you. All Simba...' she muttered crazily. She picked the crying cub and examined it.

Its left ear had been totally ripped off, and now there was an ugly stump. Two scars ran across to the middle of the cubs foreheard, and two sccras ran across the left eye.

on the right cheek was an ugly cut, and a few bite marks scarred the cubs leg.

'There there...you're my little Jeshi..'
