Kopa ran to the water, out of breath. He looked back. He had just been chased out of the Pride Lands, by Zira, who had Simba fooled. Kopa licked at a wound on his thigh, and drank some water. He drank for about ten minutes straight. Then he heard a noise from in front of him.
A strange lioness was lapping up water with her pink slick tongue. She was brown, with deep blue eyes. Two grey dots sat under them. She had a white forehead, which reminded Kopa of his friend Vitani. Her blue eyes were staring right at him as she drank.
Kopa looked away nervously. Why was she staring at him? Where did she come from? Was he imagining this? He was sure when he left about an hour ago that no other lions lived on this small piece of land. However, now there was a female lioness, right in front of him. He bent down to drink more water for his hot dry throat.
"Forgive me," the lioness said. Her voice was high-pitched and soft, like Nala's. "My name is Madogo. What is your name?"
Kopa gulped. "My name is Kopa," he announced, fiddling with his paws.
"Kopa." She repeated in a sweet voice. "what a nice name. That wound looks pretty bad, do you need anything?" Madogo asked. Kopa shook his head no.
"Where did you come from, if I may ask." Kopa asked, still licking the blood from his cut.
Madogo stared straight into his eyes. "I was an outlander, from the Lands of Faith." she declared, standing up. "I was banished for killing a young cub who was in the pride."
Kopa looked at her. " Why did you kill the cub? He asked.
"None of your concern." Madogo replied, looking away. Just, I live here now. Alright? Stay out of my path if you don't want to end up like that cub!" And with a flash of grey, she was gone.
