From the corner of the cave he could hear her sniffling, and from his perch he spotted the tears glistening down her cheeks. Had things gone to plan and he released, Rowin wouldn’t have thought twice about her capture. Standing before her was a different story- he felt remorse. He was, after all, the reason she was now a prisoner. He padded his way over to the white lioness. “Stop crying.” He said, nudging her shoulder. She looked at him in slight disbelief, then anger. “Stop crying? I’ve been imprisoned by the same lion who killed my parents and half my pride because of what someone else did. I’m going to live the rest of my life in torment, until he decides he’s had his fill, and you want me to stop crying?”
“Crying won’t change it.” Rowin responded. “But I promise you this. The moment I am released, by whatever means, I will get you out of here.” Deana nodded, and the two remained in silence.
